Nyota woke up after 10am the next morning. She quickly got ready for her outing with Khan and decided to meditate until he arrived. Soon enough the computer told Nyota that Khan was outside her door, so she got up to greet him.
"You're look beautiful as always Nyota" he said as he stepped in her quarters and closed the door behind him
"Thanks, I wish I could say the same" she said sarcastically
"Haha well in that case I should just leave" he joked as he headed for the door
"No wait! Please don't leave me" she exclaimed while trying to sound like a soap opera actress
"No it's too late" he played along
"Oh please Khan I'll do anything" she said as she got between him and the door.
"Anything?" he said with a grin. Before Nyota could respond he picked her up, pinned her against the door and started kissing her. As he expected, Nyota put her arms around his neck and kissed him back. This lasted a few minutes until she broke away.
"Khan we can't do this" she said while trying to catch her breath
"Really? Cause I'm ready to go" he said as he pressed his pelvis against hers
"Yes I can feel that but I don't want to" she said sweetly
Khan put her down and stepped away
"I'm sorry Nyota" he seemed disgusted with himself. Nyota gently placed her hands on his face and made him look at her
"Khan… take me out. I want to go out and have fun with you today"
"Of course. Don't forget your coat" he said. She grabbed him by the hand got her coat and they left her quarters
"Maybe we should leave town?" she said
"I agree. I have a surprise for you"
"Oh you have a plan! I thought you were too unpredictable for that"
"I make plans all the time. I'm just not good at sticking to them, but this day is too important to mess up"
The first thing they did was eat cause Nyota was starving and then Khan's plan began. They took a boat ride to a little island just outside San Francisco and got off.
"I hadn't been in a boat in years it was lovely. What is this place? I've never been here before" she said as she admired the big building before her
"This is an art museum owned by a man who really dislikes transporters" he responded
"Haha does he own the whole island?"
"Yes he does" he said as he lead the way inside
They got inside and Nyota was instantly mesmerized. Huge ice sculptures of mythical creatures fighting each other were scattered everywhere. Colored lights had been placed underneath the sculptures. This created reflections that make them look even more mystical.
"Holy crap" she said under her breath
"I've always enjoyed these but for whatever reason they're not very popular" Khan said but Nyota wasn't listening. She was entranced by the art before her. After a few minutes she managed to speak and they both wandered around the entire museum talking about everything they saw. After a few hours the computer announced that the museum had to close and they had to leave.
"I can't believe I didn't know something so beautiful existed" she said as they got back on the boat.
"Are you hungry? this boat has a Betazoid restaurant" he asked
"Great let's go, but maybe we shouldn't talk"
"Why?"
"Well whenever we talk we lose track of time, and we end up staying after closing and then the owners hate us" she said
"Haha very well then"
By time they were done eating the boat had arrived back in San Francisco. They got off and started walking back to the city hand in hand
"The food was great. Today has been perfect" she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck
"Yes it has been" he looked at her intensively
"Nyota… would you like to come back to my quarters?"
"I don't know" she said as she looked down at his chest
"We will do as you wish Nyota" he said softly
"We can't do as I wish" she said as she looked up at him and he raised an eyebrow. She smiled and caressed his eyebrow with her thumb.
"How I love it when men do that" she said as he started to lower it, but upon hearing that she enjoyed it he raised it again.
"Haha let's go somewhere else" she said as she let go off him
"Where?"
They wandered around aimlessly for awhile and ended up in a Scottish bar near campus. Nyota was sure that Spock wouldn't be in place like this.
"Why is there so many people here?" she asked
"I think it's probably because of that" he said while pointing at a monitor. FC Barcelona was playing Manchester United. They ordered some drinks and stuck around until the match was over before leaving.
"That was actually fun" she said as they walked back to campus
"Indeed" he said pensively. He wanted to talk to her about their relationship but before he could ask they heard a familiar voice behind them.
"Oi! Uhura wait for me it's Scotty!" the engineer shouted as he ran towards them. Khan and Nyota stopped and waited for him to catch up.
"Thanks lass. Oh Khan I didn't realize it was you. When did you two start dating?"
"We're not dating we're just friends" she said uncomfortably as Khan looked away
"Oh I'm sorry about that lass"
They started walking to campus again as Scotty talked about how happy he was that an English team lost.
'I guess we won't talk about us tonight' Khan thought
"So did you hear about the Enterprise?" Scotty asked enthusiastically
"What about it?" she asked
"She's almost ready! We're ahead of schedule and should be done in about two weeks. At the same time those stupid continuation classes are done"
"That's incredible Scotty! You're a genius!"
"Ah thanks Uhura but I'm not the only engineer working on it"
"Well it's amazing that you've been going to class and still have the energy to go work on the ship" she complimented
Meanwhile Khan was panicking inside. She was gonna be gone in just a few weeks and he didn't even know where their relationship stood.
When they got to campus Scotty said goodnight and excused himself. Khan started walking to Nyota's room but then he felt a tug on the back of his jacket. Nyota was grabbing his jacket to stop him. He looked at her in confusion.
"How about we go back to your room?" she asked shyly
"What?" he blurted out without thinking
"Um" she started
"Nevermind let's go" he grabbed her hand and started speed walking to his quarters. He had to keep himself from picking her up and running.
"Haha okay" she said gleefully. Now that she knew that she was going to be gone in just a few weeks she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.
They entered his quarters but they didn't talk about their relationship. They couldn't keep their lips away from each other long enough to do that. Their clothes fell and they collapsed onto Khan's bed.
Nyota woke up alone in Khan's bedroom. It was now about 8:30am.
"Khan?" she calls out. Then she notices that a PADD was lying on the pillow next to her's. She took it and turned it on. It had a message from Khan.
"Good morning Nyota I had to get to work and I didn't want to wake you. I'll call you later. Please make yourself at home. -Khan"
She didn't have a class until 10:30am so she decided to go back to sleep but she couldn't. Was he really gonna call her back? She wondered
'Ugh, I hope this wasn't a mistake' she thought as she got up to leave. She went back to her quarters to shower and then to the cafeteria to get breakfast. She was feeling incredibly anxious but was trying to not show it.
"Hey Uhura how are you?" a tall blonde woman asked Nyota
"Oh hi Carol. I'm alright"
They got their food and took a seat.
"It's crazy that the Enterprise is almost done" Carol gushed. They talked about the ship for a few minutes and then Carol asked about Khan.
"You said you were going to spend Sunday with him. How did that go?"
"Um… it went fine" Nyota said as she looked down at her food
That's when Carol noticed that Nyota hadn't even touched her food.
"Uhura you look anxious. Why aren't you eating? Did he do something to you?" her fists were clenched
Nyota looked at Carol and noticed how angry she was getting.
'Oh god she probably thinks he raped me. I guess I'm gonna have to tell her' Nyota think
"We sleep together and it was consensual" she made sure to add the last part quickly
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. it's just that when I woke up he was gone and he left me a message saying he would call but I'm not sure I believe him" Nyota said with a sigh
"I'm sorry about that"
"It's alright. I already know that he's a player but I didn't think that I would get this anxious"
"When did he say that he was gonna call?" Carol asked
"Later"
"Well maybe he will call"
"I would rather not get my hopes up" she said as she threw herself back on her chair and crossed her arms
"May I ask something personal" Carol asked shyly
"You're part of my family you can ask me anything"
"Well I don't know if family members ask each other this kind of stuff but... how was he?"
"Wow" the question made Nyota smile and blush. She really wasn't expecting it.
"I'm sorry if it's rude you don't have to answer me" Carol said quickly
"No it's fine, don't worry" Nyota looked pensive for a while but then a huge smile appeared on her face.
"It was out of this world… out of this universe"
"Wow" was all Carol could say
"Haha yeah. Hey I'm not too good at boy talk so can we talk about something else?" she asked apologetically
"Sure" Carol agreed
They talked until Nyota's class was about to start and then she had to dash out of the cafeteria to get there in time. She arrived just in time and took a seat. The professor seemed to be late so all the students were talking. The noise was really irritating her and she even found herself wanting the class to start already. After a few more minutes the door opened and a tall young man walked in. Upon seeing him Nyota's irritation warmed and melted away.
"Hello I am here to inform you that your professor will not be coming today so you are all dismissed" said Mr. Spock
The students gathered their stuff and started leaving but Nyota remained seated. After everyone else left Nyota got up from her seat and walked down the stairs where Spock was waiting for her. She smiled at him and Spock smiled in the way only she could see. She finally reached the bottom of the stairs and hugged him.
"Hello Commander" she said
"Good morning Lieutenant" he said hugging her back
"I've missed you" she said sweetly
"I've missed you as well Nyota" he said with his eyes closed
"So what have you been up to?" she said as she let go of his neck and stepped away from him
"I've been performing errands for the Academy, such as what you just witnessed. And you?"
"Not much just going to class. Do you wanna ditch your duties and hang out with me?" she asked with a grin on her face
"Yes I would but let me just contact the Academy to let them know I'm going to take the day off"
"Tell them that an incredibly beautiful woman is kidnapping you and that you won't be working today" she said jokingly
"Very well then. But I'll have to replace beautiful with crazy" he joked back
"Haha you're an ass" she said as he took out his communicator to make the call.
They walked around campus talking until they settled on a bench.
"So you're telling me, that the reason you're not taking continuation classes is that you already know everything about everything" she asked as she pretended to be annoyed
"That is correct" he joked with a straight face. His eyes were glowing whimsically in a way that only Nyota could see.
"Aha okay… well that's interesting. And clearly you must be telling me the truth cause everyone knows that Vulcan's don't lie" she said with playful suspicion
"That is also correct"
"Haha that's a lot of learning" just then she noticed a student behind Spock checking the time
"Oh crap! What time is it?" she exclaimed
"It is 2:52pm. Why?"
"I have a class at three" she said as she got up
"May I walk you"
"Yeah let's go" she said as they headed to her class
"It's unusual that you didn't get hungry Nyota"
"Oh I will be"
"May I take you to get food after your class is over?"
"Oh yeah that sounds great. This class ends at 4:30" then she gave him a peck on the cheek and entered her class
Since she already knew everything that was being taught she would usually spend most of her time daydreaming in class. During the first few weeks she was thinking about her break up with Spock. During the last week she had been thinking about Khan but now all she could think about how hungry she was. Eventually the class ended and she exited the class to find Spock waiting for her a few yards away from the door. She went up to greet him and they headed for the city.
"What would you like to eat?"
"How about some Mexican food" she delightfully responded
As they walked away Khan stepped from behind a nearby tree. First clenched he watched them walk away.
Khan had planned on calling her as soon as he got to San Francisco but he remembered that she had a class so he decided to surprise her instead. But he abandoned that plan when he saw her walking happily with her ex boyfriend. He could feel the profound urge to break Spock's face in but that wouldn't be wise. He did the only thing he could think of doing at a time like this. He went into the city and picked up a couple of girls that purposely looked nothing like Nyota.
'They should keep me satisfied for a while' he thought as they entered his quarters
"I found those cheese enchiladas exquisite" Spock said
"Haha I love the way you say enchiladas" she said as they headed back to campus.
Nyota sat in a bench and Spock sat beside her.
"I'm really glad we hung out. I needed it" she said as Spock raised an eyebrow
"God I love that" she said softly
"I know you do… Nyota… are you gonna tell me what's wrong?"
"What makes you think something is wrong?"
"Because I know you. I can see what you feel even when the rest of the universe doesn't. Just like you can with me" he said
"Spock I don't think you want to hear this… it's boy trouble"
"I'm listening" he said while looking at her straight in the eyes
"Well..." she told him everything that had happened
"And now it's 7pm and he hasn't called… so I guess I'm an idiot"
"Nyota I think I saw him waiting by your classroom"
"What?" her heart skipped
"I'm not certain that it was him. But I saw a man that looked like him standing behind a tree and he seemed to be looking at your classroom door." he explained
"Holy crap… but if he still wants me then why hasn't he called?"
"He probably saw you walking with me and assumed that we were in a relationship again"
"Yeah that makes sense" she said pensively
"Perhaps you should call him Nyota?"
"Actually I think I'm gonna go see him" she said as she got up and so did Spock
"Would you like me to walk you there?"
"No I'll be fine" she said as she hugged him
"Thank you so much Spock. Let's hang out soon"
"Anytime Nyota"
They broke apart said good night and Nyota headed towards Khan's quarters. She was about to tell the computer who she was when she heard female moans coming from inside. She froze she couldn't believe it. He already had a new girl inside his apartment? No. He had two girls in there with him. They were shouting about what a sex god he was. It was so loud that not even the metal door could contain the sounds. She felt a pain in her stomach and she ran. She ran all the way back to her quarters and threw herself in bed.
'So Spock was wrong he didn't see him. It must of been someone else who looked like him' she thought
She considered meditating but she knew that that wouldn't help her at all right now. All she could do was cry and try not to scream for the rest of the night until she fell asleep.
They didn't communicate for several days and now it was Monday again. Khan was very impressed with his engineers. They had not only recovered from the accident but had improved tremendously.
'At this rate we'll be done by this week. Nyota would of asked me if people like them give me hope' he thought sadly
"Hey boss! You still moody?" asked Smith
'Well I am thinking about freezing myself' Khan thought
"Yeah" was all Khan would say out loud
"I guess she wasn't just another girl. Who was she actually?" Smith enquired
"Lieutenant Uhura from the USS Enterprise"
"Wow you banged Uhura? She knockout! And brilliant too!"
"Say it louder please! I don't think they heard you in Romulus!" Khan responded sarcastically
"I'm sorry. I'm gonna go back to work" Smith said as he started to walk away, but then he stopped himself
"Wait, you told me yesterday that you saw her back with her ex"
"I know what I said Smith" just having to think about it was making him furious
"Right. Well what I mean is that she's not back with him"
"What?" Khan's heart skipped a beat
"Her ex is Mr. Spock right? They're just friends they're not back together"
"And you know this how?" Khan asked coldly
"People talk"
"Gossip! Well that's reliable" he sounded exasperated now
"Look it's not one hundred percent but there is a possibility that you're wrong about them. There's still hope"
'Hope' Khan thought bitterly
Khan's workday ended and now he was back in his quarters. He checked the time. It was now 4:25pm.
'She should be out of class any minute now' he thought
He wanted to go see her but he was afraid that if he saw Spock with her he would end up picking a fight with him. Soon enough he decided to take the chance and go.
'I need some action. Sex or violence will do' he thought as he walked out of his quarters
Nyota class ended and she saw Spock waiting for her outside.
"Hey you wanna go feed me?" she asked with a grin
"That's what I'm here for" Spock said
Just then as the crowd began to spread Nyota noticed Khan standing close by staring at them.
Nyota's jaw dropped at the sight of Khan.
'Why is he here? Why is he so angry?" she thought
Khan's fist's were clenched, his jaw was locked and his eyes were feral. Spock looked calm but Nyota could tell that he was boiling inside. She had already told him about the threesome Khan had and now he wanted to kill him. Khan charged towards Spock who waited for the confrontation. Foreseeing what was about to happen Nyota stepped between the two of them.
"Khan what are you doing here?" she said angrily
"Get outta my way Nyota!" Khan yelled as he locked eyes with Spock
"Do not refer to her by her first name" Spock said
"She let's me use it!" Khan barked back
"I sincerely doubt that she still does"
"All thanks to you!"
"Guys! I'm right here and I can speak for myself!" she yelled and they both broke eye contact
"Khan answer me. What are you doing here?" she asked while trying to calm her anger. A few curious student were gathering around them now.
"I wanted to see you" Khan said without actually looking at her
"Why?" she didn't know if she felt disgusted or happy
"Because I missed you. But now that I know you're with him I just want to smash his skull in!"
"Leave" she said firmly and angrily
"What?" her anger caught Khan by surprise
"You heard me!"
"Nyota wh-" he was about to start asking her why she was so angry but then she interrupted him
"Don't call me that, in fact don't ever address me. I never want to see you again" she was seething
"Why?" Khan asked her beggingly
"Why?! Are you kidding me?!" she could feel tears about come on
"Ugh I have to be alone" and with that last statement she stormed off
Khan started to follow her but then Spock grabbed his shoulder to stop him. Khan forcefully pulled away so Spock had to get in front of him.
"She requested solitude" Spock said through his teeth as Nyota turned a corner
Khan let out a small laugh before tackling Spock. Spock applied the nerve pinch but it didn't stop Khan. They fought for several minutes until security got there. Security tried to break them up but couldn't. After a few minutes Spock knocked out Khan but then he collapsed on top of him in exhaustion.
Just as Nyota was about to reach her quarters her communicator started ringing.
"Hello?" she hoped that it would be something that would distract her from Khan.
"Hello Ms. Uhura your friend Mr. Spock is in the academy Medbay and he has you as an emergency contact"
"What? Why? Is he okay?" she said as she started heading towards the Medbay
"He got into a fight with Khan also known as John Harrison, but they'll both be fine" said the lady on the phone
"Um okay thank you. I'm on my way"
She got to the Medbay asked the computer for Spock's and Khan's location. She went to see Spock first and found him sleeping.
"The goblin is gonna be fine. He heals quickly" Bones said while passing the tricorder over him.
"Bones! Hey you came here cause you were worried" she teased
"No I didn't I'm a doctor. I work here!"
"One of the nurses told me that Spock is doing really well so you don't have to be here you just want to. Awww me too" she continued to tease
"Ugh whatever. It's not like him to get into a fight but he can sure handle himself in one" a blushing Bones said while trying to change the subject
"Yeah he's the kindest tough guy I've ever met" she said as she fixed Spock's hair. Spock had a few bruises but none of his bones had been broken and he didn't really lose any blood.
"You should see Khan. Spock really let him have it" Bones said with a laugh
"I was told on the phone that Khan should be fine" she said worryingly
"He heals even faster than Spock so he should be"
"Um I'll be right back" she said as she exited Spock's room
"Alright but I might not be here when you get back. I gotta go to my stupid continuation classes"
"Yes yes I know, you're a doctor not a student. I'll see ya" she said as Bones mumbled to himself about how he could teach those classes better that his professor. She got to Khan's door and then stopped.
'What if he's awake? I don't want to talk to him I just want to see that he's okay' she thought. Just then a nurse came out of his room. Nyota recognized him as one of the nurses from the Enterprise.
"Oh hi Uhura are you here to see Khan? He's not conscious but you can go in if you like. Just don't let it be too long cause we're only supposed to let family members in" said the nurse as he walked off. She took a few breath before she opened the door and stepped in.
'He's in better condition than Spock. He heals so quickly' she thought as she slowly looked him up and down. He didn't have a single injury. He looked like he decided to just crash in a hospital bed for no reason.
'Well I guess that's all I wanted to see' she thought as she headed for the door
"Nyota?" said a groggy Khan
'What are the freaking odds?!' she thought as she stops on her tracks
"Where am I?" Khan asked as he got up slightly
"You're in the academy Medbay" she said as she crossed her arms
"What? Oh right the fight?" he said as he lay back down
"Yeah the fight… anyway you and Spock are gonna be fine and the health care is free so you don't have to worry about anything" she said while not looking at him
"I've been in this time long enough to know that healthcare is free now" he said with a warm smile
"Gives you hope doesn't it?"
"Yes but not as much as you do"
"Ugh! Screw you Khan" and she stormed off his room
'Why is she mad at me?' he wondered
'I can't believe he thinks he can sweet talk me back into his arms. After what he did to me and Spock. Who does he think he is?' she thought as she headed back to Spock's room. When she got there Spock was already awake and a nurse was reviewing her tricorder. Spock acknowledged Nyota's presence with a nod. She nodded back and managed to calm herself down.
"You're doing well. We should release you early tomorrow and Khan should be released later today. Excuse me" said the nurse as she left
"So what happened between the two of you?" she asked as she sat down on the corner of his bed
"Khan insisted on following you despite you stating that you wanted to be left in peace, and in my attempt to stop him he attacked me and I retaliated."
"I see… well um thank you. Will you file a report on him?"
"No" he said plainly
"Why?" a bit of anger came out in her voice
"I find it highly unlikely that he will even bother us again. Also the Federation needs him to continue dismantling Marcus' weapons."
"Yes that makes sense" she said pensively
"Did you want to file one?"
"Well yes but you're right it would be illogical to do so" she said as the door opened
"Hey guys!" it was Jim Kirk
"Jim I was under the impression that you have a class at this time" was the only thing Spock could say
"I do but I left early"
"Is that wise?" Spock asked
"Well I think we all know Jim never does anything unwise" Nyota said in a deadpan tone
"I'm the most level headed person you'll ever know" Jim continued her joke and Nyota could've sworn that she saw Spock roll his eyes.
"So how's the best commander in the fleet doing?" asked Jim as he took a seat on the other corner of Spock's bed.
"He's doing very well" she answered
"Captain I believe you should go back to class"
"You see! Typical Spock" she joked
"I really don't like it when you two are on the same side. It makes me worry about the future of the galaxy" said Spock to his grinning friends who then jokingly proceeded to lecture the Vulcan on how illogical worrying was.
They all hung out in Spock's room for a few hours until Spock got sleepy and Jim and Nyota went to get some pizza.
"I'm really surprised he got into a fight with Khan. I could've sworn Spock was over you" Jim said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin.
"It was Khan who started it"
"Really? Why?" he said as he put his pizza down
"Um… I wanted to be alone and Khan didn't want to leave me be, so Spock tried to stop him and Khan picked a fight with him"
"May I know why you wanted to be alone?"
"I was just angry" she said sadly
"At Khan? For what?"
She didn't answer, but the silence told Jim everything he needed to know.
"That jerk slept with you and ignored you the second it was over didn't he" he said as he tried to contain his anger
"Yes" she said while looking down
"Ugh! He's vile! How can someone do that? Everyone thinks I do that but the only reason I don't call is because I NEVER say I will" he was almost yelling now
"Calm down. I doubt he'll bother me anymore. Spock would kill him"
"Wait this makes no sense" he said
"What do you mean?"
"If he slept with you and didn't really like you he wouldn't be chasing you"
"He would if he's a possessive, arrogant sack of crap"
"Haha yes, but let's look at this from another angle" he said calmly
"What other angle? He didn't call me and when I went to his quarters I could hear him banging two chicks!" she was starting to get angry at Jim now
"Oh" was all Jim could say
They stayed silent for a while and then Jim spoke again.
"Uhura why did you go to his dorm room after he didn't call?"
"Spock told me that he thought Khan might of been waiting for me outside of my class"
"What made him think that?" he asked
"Khan told me that he was gonna call me as soon as he could, but he gets out of work at three which is when my class starts. So Spock thought that maybe instead of calling Khan had decided to wait for me outside of my class. Plus Spock said that he thought he had seen a guy that looked like Khan standing under a three." she explained
"How would Spock see that?"
"He was waiting for me by the door of my cla-" and then it struck them
"Crap!" she exclaimed
"Okay so let's say that Khan was there. He probably saw you and Spock leaving together and assumed that you were back on. That would explain him cutting off any contact. If he assumed that then he was probably furious and needed some action. Since picking fights would be wrong he probably went into the city and picked up some girls instead" he deduced
"That makes sense but I don't know Jim. I could confront him about it but if we're wrong I don't know if I could take it. I don't know if I could stand being hurt by him again." she said with her hand on her forehead
"Well... whatever you decide to do I just want you to know that you are never gonna be alone and that I and the rest of the crew love you" he said as he held her shin up
"Thank you my Captain" she said with a smile
They finished eating and Jim walked Nyota back to her quarters before excusing himself. Nyota spend the rest of the night thinking about Khan.
The rest of the week passed and the classes ended plus the Enterprise was finished. The crew had a week to go before they went on their much awaited five year mission. Meanwhile Nyota had spent most of the week debating whether she should speak to Khan or not.
"I'll talk to him" Nyota said as she was having breakfast with Carol
"To boldly go" Carol responded with her folk in the air
"Exactly! I've been spending this week wondering if Jim is right or not and if I don't confront Khan about it I'll wonder for the rest of my life"
"Also if you can stand up to Klingons you can stand up to anything"
"Yes yes I am a badass" Nyota joked
They hung out until about 3:30pm which is when Nyota headed for Khan's quarters. Her heart was in her throat but she had to know what happened. She got to his door and she announced herself to the computer. Soon the door slid open
"Nyota what are you doing here?" said Khan
Before Nyota could answer she heard a female voice coming from inside his quarters.
"Is that a friend of yours darling?" said the lady in his room
Nyota felt her soul drop to her shoes.
"I hope so" Khan answered the woman
"No" Nyota said and she started storming off
"Wait!" Khan said as he started following her
"Nyota is something wrong? Did you want to talk to me about something?" he said frantically
"Get away from me" she said as she angrily tried to hold back tears
"Honey are you his friend or not?" said the woman who was now standing beside Khan's door
'Did she just call me honey?' Nyota thought as she turned around. The first thing Nyota noticed was that the woman was wearing a suit.
'Wait, was this a date or a business meeting?' Nyota thought
"Friend or not?" the woman repeated
"Why is that important to you?"
"It's my job. So what are you?" the woman said proudly
"I don't know" Nyota said softly
"Hm, so I assume you're an ex lover of Khan's."
"Uh" Khan started to explain but that he realized that he couldn't
"Ha! You two must of had a complicated relationship. Tell me honey, if I froze Khan would you care?" she asked
"Yes! Of course I would care he's important to me, he's my friend!" Nyota exclaimed
"Now how hard was that?" said the woman
"I'm sorry Khan but it looks like this doll cares for you too much, so you're stuck here. Unless of course you can get her to hate you. In which case call me. See you kids!" she said as she headed for the elevator
"Who was she? What was that?" Nyota asked Khan
"I've been thinking about freezing myself and I need someone to look after me. So I was thinking about hiring her to do it, but then she started asking me about leaving people behind and that's when you showed."
"Why do you want to freeze yourself? You're crew will miss you"
"I haven't seen most of them in a while they have their own lives and they can go on without me"
"What about those engineers you worked with. You use to rave about them. They must've given you some hope" she asked worryingly
"I guess I'm just hard to please" he said sadly and she looked down
"Nyota am I really important to you?" he asked but she ignored the question
"Khan I came here because I wanted to ask you something?"
"I'm listening"
"Why didn't you call me after we spend the night together?" she said as she made herself look him in the eye
"Well… by the time I got off work you had a class so I decided to surprise you outside of it instead of calling you. But then I saw you walking with Spock, so I didn't bother contacting you in any way." he sounded a bit condescending
"So Jim was right" she said under her breath
"Excuse me?"
"You think I'm back with Spock"
"Are you not?" his heart skipped a beat
"And that's why you slept with those two chicks" she continued
"How do you know about that?" he sounded a bit frightened now
"I'm not with Spock again and I know about the girls because I came to visit you and I heard them"
"Oh… that's why you've been mad at me. I am so sorry. I..."
"We're not a couple so you can sleep with whoever you like. I just…I really wasn't expecting it" she said as she tried to keep calm
"We were not a couple but I am your friend and I should never hurt you. I'm sorry for everything. Not calling you, sleeping with those girls, fighting Spock. Who kicked my ass by the way! I'm sorry" he said as he looked down
"Can we just start all over I mea-" she started to say but then she stopped mid sentence
"Khan… are you crying?" she asked not even bothering to hide her amusement
"No" he actually wasn't crying but he looked like he was about to
"Haha you wanna cry" she said as she hugged him
"It's okay. Girls love a tough guy who cries" she said as she ran her hand through his hair
Khan laughed and pulled away slightly. His eyes were swollen but he had no tears.
"I missed you so much Nyota"
"Of course you did I'm freaking delightful" she said sarcastically
"Haha so you want to start all over? Would you go on a date with me?"
"Actually I think I have a better idea" she said as she grabbed his hand and led him back to his quarters with a big grin on her face.

EPILOGUE
Khan and Nyota become a couple and Khan joins the Enterprise crew.
Sorry for not posting anything in years. Life got in the way but I didn't want to leave anybody hanging, so here is the rest of the story.
I know that the chapters got really long at the end and I apologize for that. I've actually had this written down for a while but it was suppose to get broken down into smaller chapters with more detail (mostly more jokes). Unfortunately, I have a feeling that soon I'll busier than before so it's gonna have to be either this or nothing at all.
