The following day, Shine was making sure all the food ponies were offering was deemed acceptable to their families. Some ponies offered some of their bits towards the pharaohs, others their gifts. Very few who deemed unworthy, would work a certain amount of time to make sure they earn their daily meals. He even confirmed that some of the guards stood firm by the food storage and ready for any intruders barging in.
"This has been a marvelous work, Moon." a voice called out.
He looked upward, noticing the Pharaoh designed as one of the statues move. While he was not fond of seeing the impossible happen, Shine did indeed respect him as a friend.
"I appreciate your concern, your highness."
"But it seems like something's bugging you, hasn't it?"
Hearing his choice of words carefully, Shine looked towards him with a concerned look in his eyes.
"What do you mean?"
Unfortunately, the Pharaoh disappeared before answering his comment. He was then interrupted with noises coming from the outside. He ran towards the room, to see what the commotion was about. When he was about to turn towards the corner, his hooves came to an abrupt halt as his heart stopped for a moment. Right in front of him, his ten sisters, older and different than he remembered, were standing there, being pushed aside by the guards. Knowing that his voice would be recognized right away, he used his magic to disguise his voice immediately and walked towards them.
"What seems to be the problem here?" he asked with a disguised voice.
"Your highness." the guards said as they bowed before him.
The ten followed his example and kneeled towards him, just as his dream was interpreted many years ago. While he would've broken down with tears, Shine needed to confirm if anything had changed.
"We caught these mares coming close towards the food storage and was begging for food."
"Asking for food when not authorized? Expecting us to share gratitude for thieves?"
"My lord, we are not thieves!"
"Maybe Radiance might."
"Lunar!"
"What? Just saying."
"No matter the case, you all shall be sent to prison at once! Guards!"
With much strength as the guards could, ponies tried their best to push them away. Unfortunately, the small item Justice kept slipped from underneath and landed towards Shine. He then glanced towards it, recognizing its patterns and design. With a move of his wing, the guards stopped for a moment.
"However, we may compromise on this matter. Guards, escort these mares towards the dining hall."
Confused at the change of mind, the girls hesitantly followed the guards behind, leaving an observant prince behind. Shine removed his spell as he examined the work of art carefully with an open heart. How delicate the wood work this particular pony had made with perfect tools, how attention to detail they made with the animal in question. As he examined the info more, he then realized the animal moved towards him with a smile. Shine dropped the item as the Pharaoh emerged towards the whistle.
"You seem to appreciate your siblings here."
"Wait. How did you-"
"You think I wouldn't know about your ridiculous backstory without Blaze boring me to death about it."
He then thought for a moment with a sigh.
"Pharaoh, let me explain-"
"No need for that. I know."
"You do?"
"Of course. I am the ruler of the chaos kingdom. I can learn all things on top of my paw." he bragged as certain items appeared out of thin air and into his paw in general.
"Look, I may need you to ensure that these mares know nothing about me."
"And why not?"
"If they knew who I was, they would be furious and try to attack me again."
"And if they were to ask about you?"
"Please lie for me."
"It seems like you are out of character for you to say things like this, probably that's what the author was planning from the start."
"What?"
"I mean, of course. If that is what you wish. But only you if you promise to tell them soon." he insisted as he handed back the whistle to Shine.
"I promise."
He then walked through the wall, allowing Shine to ponder this decision on its own. He then cast his spell again while walking towards the dining hall where ten fearful ponies were shaking in their knees. As soon as his appearance was known from them, the girls stood and kneeled before him with respect.
"Please sire!" Justice begged, "let us all go. We need food for our mother."
"We've been starving for food in our homeland for several moons." Time Twist continued.
"Without your assistance, all of us would die of starvation." added Eminence.
"Maybe for you guys," muttered Lunar Moon.
Hearing her sarcastic reply, the girls then argued over each other, not letting the prince to make a statement. With such patience, he lifted his hoof and glared at them carefully.
"You may return to your homeland." he replied
"Wait what?" the girls said in unison.
"You heard right: I'm letting you girls return home."
With such a relief, the girls thanked Celestia for giving them a second chance to live.
"However," he continued, "you must bring me back the pony who created this whistle."
When he showed the whistle towards the girls, Justice stood there shocked.
"No! We won't let Lily come over here! She's the only daughter our mother has."
"Then you will never return home."
With such harsh decisions, they had to think of something.
"Could you give us a chance to think things over?"
"Very well. If that is the case, I shall keep one of you here until you return back with the pony."
"But who would that-"
Before finishing Time Twist's question, two guards started to grab Diane away from the group and towards the prince.
"Diane!"
"Hey, what gives prince-y?"
"I'm giving you a chance to think things over. Until you bring back this pony, Diane will remain here in prison until your return for the time being. Now, leave at once."
Without hearing their consent, Shine left, allowing the ponies to argue over this matter. When he was out of their sight, he sighed lightly as his magic finished.
"If I know Diane: she'll tell who I am if she went home with them. I knew this was the right choice."
He then walked away from the room and into the pantry to help the girls out for their journey home.
