So here she sat, weeping for what she'd ruined. Of course Kurt would be gone, he'd only just broken up with Amanda a week ago and now he had to deal with her throwing herself at him like some depraved skank. How could she have let last night happen? The drugs only lowered her inhibitions but she knew what she was doing and she knew he wouldn't have said no. He was her best friend, her shoulder to cry on, her rock and now she threw that all away.
The knock at the door startled her and she feared at who it could be? If it wasn't Kurt she didn't know what she would do since she still felt sick when thinking of something other than that fine, soft fur she gripped between her fingers last night. But if was, what would she say to him? Hey, thanks for letting me hump you till I came, oh by the way I'm also in love with you, want to get some breakfast?
"Hey Kit, it's me." Rogue's southern drawl sounded through the door. "Ah'm comin' in kay?"
The door slowly crept open until Rogue's pale face came into view. She entered their shared room and carefully made her way over to the shivering girl.
"Hey, it's just me, ahm here ta check in on yah."
Kitty knew this was Rogue, her friend and fellow X-man. But in her mind she saw the pale and pink skin of her attackers. Groping, grabbing, kissing, biting. She couldn't stop the panic from rising up any more than she could stop herself from moving away in fear from a person who would never harm her.
Her whimpering was not on deaf ears though, just more than the absorbing mutants.
Kurt sat in the comfortable couch across from the professor, Dr. McCoy and an irate Wolverine. He shifted from side to side in his seat, not enjoying being under the scrutinized gazes of his three superiors.
"Alright, Kurt, why don't we talk about what happened at school the other day?"
"I don't know, I've never lost it like that before. But when I saw what those guys were doing to Kätzchen I . . . I had to . . ." Kurt couldn't find the words. Truth was he was as scared as them, but he would do it all over if it meant he could still save Kitty.
The older men looked at each other before the professor spoke.
"Kurt, this has become a very delicate situation, and we'll all need to proceed with young Miss Katherine very carefully. We all will do what we can to help her through this."
"Yes, professor, and I-"
Just then Kurt's head dropped and tilted.
Hank took a step toward the young mutant, "Kurt are you al-"
A low growl stopped him on the spot. Kurt raised his head minutely until his blood red eyes were glaring at his teachers.
When he vanished in a crack of smoke, Logan ran out of the room.
Rogue fell back on her ass in fright when her foster brother appeared next to Kitty, snarling like some feral beast and wrapping Kitty in his arms. His effect on his best friend was instant; she stopped hyperventilating, stopped shaking and finally opened her eyes, looking up at Kurt with love in her blue depths.
A few moments later the door burst open and Logan rushed in with his hands splayed in front. Kurt's deep roar was inhuman their ears as Logan pulled Rogue out of the room and slammed the door shut on the way out.
"What tha hell?! Is that what Kurt turned into at school?"
"Yeah." Logan held Rogue close, still feeling Kurt's ire.
"She's okay in there, raght?"
"Yeah, he's not gonna hurt her. Us I'm not so sure about."
Logan felt a gentle patting on his bicep. "Uh, you can let me now, surgah."
