AN: Alright everybody, as I stated in the update for my story "Embrace the Shadows" I have a poll on my profile going on for the two Percy Jackson stories I will work on after these too. The poll will go on until I wake up on Wednesday so cast your votes. And I am surprised so far from it. The stories I expected to be at the top are in last and the story I expected to get little votes is winning.
Son of the Moon
Chapter 10
-Percy-
Sighing Zeus removed the golden crown from his head and the signet ring on his finger that signified him as the king of the gods, "I am putting forward my resignation as king of the gods. I have proven I am unworthy for the position of power I wielded and feel that one more worthy should take it up in my stead.".
At his grandfather's words the council room broke out in yells and shock, "About time." a single voce called out which caused the previous cacophony of noise to turn into a silence even the dead would envy. Turning to the source of the noise he saw Poseidon sneering at his grandfather while leaning on the trident, "It's about time you gave up that throne, and when I become the new king I will take Percy," he growled when the god of the seas said his name "away from you.", when Poseidon spat out the word 'you' while glaring at his mom he snapped.
"Shut up you idiotic old windbag!" he yelled at the sea god "I'll never leave my family! Even if I have to make you fade.".
"Besides," Ares sneered at Poseidon before the sea god could respond "you would never become the next king of the gods.".
"And you shouldn't step down father," Athena said standing and walking over to Zeus, "you have made mistakes yes but you've accepted those mistakes , you've tried to fix them, you actually show the honor of trying to atone for what you've done and you show the true sign of a great leader.".
"What's that my daughter?" Zeus asked confused .
"You do not believe you are worthy to rule," Athena replied, smiling faintly "and that is how I know you are.".
"Athena's right!" Apollo called out and was quickly backed up by Hermes and his mom.
More and more of the council were shouting out their support of Zeus until every member, Along with hades and Hestia, bar Poseidon was supporting Zeus along with himself and the demigods. Scowling Poseidon interjected, "He choose to step down," the sea god snarled "he gave up his throne and now we will have a new king.".
Glaring at the man who claimed to be his father he suddenly had an idea, grinning evilly he yelled out "Well you are the Olympian Council aren't you? Why not vote on it?".
Throwing him a grin Grandma stood up, "All in favor of Zeus remaining as King of the gods until the council votes otherwise rise.".
Almost instantly his Mom, Apollo, Hermes, Ares, Hepheastus, Athena, Demeter, Dionysus, and Aphrodite stood up and smirked at a fuming Poseidon. "It looks like Zeus is still going to be king of the gods." he said laughing at Poseidon's scowl.
Looking at his grandfather he saw Zeus shaking his head in a mixture of exasperation and amusement while muttering "It is impossible to win an argument with Hera against you.".
Hearing this Hera grinned, "And don't you forget it." she said happily.
"If there is nothing else I need to go think." grandfather said and, when nobody spoke up, flashed out.
Looking at his mom as she walked over to him and the rest of the demigods he asked "Is grandpa going to be alright?".
"He's going to be fine Percy," his mom said smiling at him faintly although he could see faint worry in her eyes, "now why don't you introduce me to my future daughter in law.".
Mooooooom!" he groaned and blushed as his mom and the others laughed, bar Bianca who joined him in blushing.
"And we can't forget your sisters." his mom said not caring about his embarrassment.
"Mom," he groaned "Bianca and I aren't even dating.".
"yet." his mom said and laughed triumphantly when he blushed along with the daughter of Hades. "Don't worry I'm just teasing," she said once she had gotten her breath back from laughing "but your sisters are going to probably be interrogating her once they meet her.".
Bianca paled at those words causing him to instinctively pull her into a protective hug, only to blush as he realized what he was doing. "If you all are going to the hunters camp how am I getting to this Camp Half-blood place?" Nico asked them causing them to turn towards the son of Hades. "I mean the only boy they'll probably accept is Percy and that's because he was raised as their brother. I'm nothing to them, except maybe target practice.".
"Don't worry Nico," he said gripping his best male friend's shoulder comfortingly "you're my friend. If I say you're cool the hunters will at least treat you with respect unless you do something stupid like do something cruel to a woman who doesn't deserve it or flirt with one of them.".
"Plus seeing as your Bianca's sister that makes you their brother in law." his mom added with a smirk.
"Mooooooom!" he groaned loudly causing his immortal mother to laugh.
-Bianca-
With a thud Bianca DiAngelo landed in what she assumed was the Hunter's camp after Percy's mom flashed them all there. As she groggily tried to get up she saw a hand appear in front of her face and, looking up, she saw a sheepish looking Percy "Sorry about that," he said rubbing the back of his head as he pulled her up "I forgot to warn you that flashing is always disorienting the first few times.".
"It's alright," she said brushing her clothes off once she was up "no harm done.".
Before Percy could reply she heard a shout of "Percy!" and her crush was pinned to the ground by a crying teenage girl with tanned skin and black hair.
"Zoe!" Percy shouted back and hugged the girl who she remembered to be his sister.
"Hey," another voice shouted from the direction Zoe came from "Percy's back!".
They were quickly surrounded by the sixteen immortal hunters causing Nico, even though Aretmis has assured him he would be fine, to gulp and pale.
One of the hunters, a red head girl, looked at Nico with a raised eyebrow but she could see amusement in the girl's eyes at Nico's discomfort, "Who's he milady?" the red head asked Artemis.
"That is Nico DiAngelo," Artemis began in amusement "son of Hades and Percy's future brother-in-law.".
"Mooooooom!" Percy groaned from under the dog pile of happy silver clad hunters.
"Brother-in-law!" the girls in silver exclaimed as one, shocked.
"You all remember the iris message Percy made earlier today when he asked to talk to me in private?" Artemis asked and she saw what bit of Percy was visible pale.
"Yeah," a blonde girl said shrugging "why?".
"Percy called because he was afraid he was going to be kicked out of the hunt for breaking the rule prima." Artemis said causing Percy to freeze in place from his attempts to get out of the dog pile.
"HE WHAT!?" one of the other girls, this one with bushy brown hair and chocolate eyes, exclaimed in shock, "He fell in love!?".
Time seemed to freeze around her when she heard that, she knew Percy had a crush on her thanks to Clarisse and Amanda but love, she hadn't expected that. At the words of Artemis the blonde girl from before and the girl with the black hair that had tackled Percy gripped him and seemed scared that he would vanish if they let go.
"But I told him of the agreement with the Styx," Artemis said smiling faintly at the scared girls "so long as Percy doesn't intentionally or with cruelty break a woman's heart or betray Olympus without good reason he can stay in the hunt even if he does fall in love. If he wants to be with someone though they will have to join the hunt as well, albeit under a different oath.".
The two girls sighed in relief and let Percy go causing him to fall to the ground having been held up by their support, "Thanks," he said sarcastically "I can feel the love.".
Hearing his comment she giggled only to pale when the hunters turned towards her and studied her intently, "This the one?" the bushy haired girl asked Artemis who nodded in response.
"Come with us would you?" Zoe said and she could tell it was a demand even if it was framed as a question, "We need to talk.".
-Percy-
Leaning back on a rocking chair at the big house he looked over the camp from its strawberry fields over to the glistening lake which met the dark yet tranquil forest, it was a good place to stay in. Next to him in identical seats were Clarisse, Amanda, and Nico who thought he was being subtle whenever he tried to steal glances at Amanda. They had all been flashed back after his sisters took Bianca away to 'talk' with her and his mom had promised to make sure they didn't go overboard.
"When do you think they'll be back?" Nico asked after a moment, looking curiously at the spot they had landed when they flashed in.
As if his words had called them his mom, Bianca, Zoe, and Phoebe landed in a flash of silver light. "I would say about now." he said amused.
"Smart ass." Nico grumbled only for Amanda to swat the back of his head, "What was that for?" the son of Hades grumbled rubbing the attacked spot.
"Well your sister wasn't close enough to do it so I had to." Amanda said sweetly causing Nico to pout and him to laugh along with Clarisse.
After a moment Bianca and the others reached them and Zoe walked right up to him, "She passes little brother," his immortal sisters said grinning "you sure made a good choice.".
Blushing he looked down causing the others to laugh again only this time at him. Before anything else could be said Hermes appeared in a flash of white light, "Percy!" he panted "Hercules has revealed the identity of the thief!".
Shooting to his feet at the words he demanded, "Who is it?!".
At these words Hermes seemed close to tears, "M-my son," the god of travelers sobbed, falling out of the air onto his knees "Luke.".
Stunned for a moment he took a hard look, Looking to the others he said "Clarisse, Amanda, you're with me. Everyone else, try and help Hermes.".
Quickly following his orders the others either flanked him or surrounded the despairing god and tried to comfort him. Drawing his sword he quickly made his way to the sword arena where he knew Luke was teaching a class on sword fighting. Once in the ring they saw that Luke was trying to teach the Aphrodite children how to fight with little success. "CASTELLAN!" he roared when he saw the traitor causing those in the arena to turn towards him in surprise "You are going to pay for your crimes you traitor.".
Paling at his words Luke tried to make a break for it only for Amanda to shoot forward with a thunderous boom and send the son of Hermes flying, using the Thunder Run for the first time. Staggering up Luke grabbed a sword off the ground and charged them. Quickly parrying the slash of the traitor he disarmed the son of Hermes while Clarisse caught Luke in the gut with a swing from the shaft of her spear. Luke went sprawling near the Aphrodite children who ran screaming, having no idea what was going on. He saw Luke look down and grin before grabbing a sword he had dropped when they had entered, one half of the blade was celestial bronze, the other half looked to be steel.
"Goobye Percy," Luke sneered "till next time." before swinging the sword n an arc and vanishing.
"Damn it!" he yelled, stomping his foot and causing a small earthquake.
"Percy!" his mom flashed over "I felt the earthquake, what happened?".
"The traitor had some sort of sword that helped him escape, it had one side celestial bronze and other side looked to be steel." he growled.
Looking up he saw his mom pale, "That is the description for the blade of Kronos' scythe," his mom breathed out in shock. Shaking herself she turned back towards him, "You did well Percy, you drove the traitor out and pointed out that the scythe is either being remade or someone has the ability to remake it.".
Nodding he watched his mom flash out before turning to Clarisse and Amanda, "Well," he said firmly "it looks like we prepare for war.".
