Just wanted to say thanks to the reviews guys! They really help me keep writing. Also, seeing as there was a tie for my new name, I combined them into the new one which shall show up soon. Thanks for voting guys :D

The water splashed on the shore in front of me. The gentle setting sun cast a fiery glow across the still water. The reeds swished in the gentle green-leaf breeze and carried the crisp scent of the land toward me. The warm scent of fish drifted around me as a splash sounded from my side. I turned my gaze toward it and saw Robinwing smiling at me. He placed it at my paws and I glanced down at the fish and smiled. As I looked back up, it was no longer Robinwing looking at me, but Bluepelt. His gray eyes were full of kindness and my pelt grew hot. Then, Robinwing appeared next to him with fury in his eyes.

"How could you?"

"She loves me!" Bluepelt snarled

"She loves me!" Robinwing hissed

My heart raced in my chest as they focused their gaze on me. I got up and stepped back.

"Choose.." They said simultaneously

Dusttail's voice echoed around me, repeating,

"Don't go for the red bird, young leopard. Only trouble will come if you don't go for your real love.."

I looked at Bluepelt, who was smiling warmly toward me and my heart fluttered around in my chest. It never did that around Robinwing. Yet, I wanted to be with Robinwing.

"Choose." They repeated

...

I awoke the next morning, still wary from the odd dream from the night before. Bluepelt was still asleep, but Robinwing's nest was empty. I sighed to myself. It was just a dream, nothing else. I knew that I had to be with-

"Hey Leopardheart."

Bluepelt's voice startled me for a moment. I turned to face the blue gray tom. He was now sitting on his nest, his pelt ruffled from sleep. I gave a quick mrrow of laughter. He always looked funny when he woke up.

"You know it's almost sunhigh."

Mossfang's deep voice sounded from outside the den. I hadn't realized how long I had been sleeping, just like Bluepelt. I got up and didn't bother grooming my fur. The noise of camp told me that everyone was up. However, when I spotted Featherfur carrying a piece of moss from Dusttail's den, I headed over to her.

"Featherfur?"

She placed down the moss.

"Creekpaw, Graypaw, and Dewpaw are out with their mentors for their assessments." She mewed

She didn't say anything else. She quickly grabbed the moss and headed for the elder's den. I shrugged and headed toward the fresh-kill pile.

"Sorry Leopardheart."

I turned and watched Robinwing pad over to me. His fluffy fur was freshly groomed and he looked completely relaxed.

"Birchstar asked me something." He said

"What?"

"Well, Echokit, Brownkit, and Patchkit are six moons old. So, he was asking me for a little help with choosing mentors. He already knows Brownkit's, but I told him that you'd be good for Patchkit!"

"Really? So..I might be a mentor?"

Robinwing nodded. I smiled with joy! To think, I was going to be a mentor to a little kit! I had just been an apprentice three moons ago! Now, they were going to learn from me!

"Thanks Robinwing!" I exclaimed

Just then, yowls broke through the camp. I turned and saw Dewpaw running in, hos fur fluffed out in fear.

"Fox! Fox scent by the river!" he yowled

Birchstar ran out and talked to Dewpaw in a hushed voice. Robinwing followed and I caught something,

"By..By the river!"

Great..Just what I needed to hear. Robinwing ran with the gray tom and I followed. We weren't leaving any fox in our territory! I ran with the three toms, Dewpaw leading the way. The scent of the fox reached me, but it was tinged with something. It reminded me of being in the nursery as a young kit. The fox must have a litter or be expecting.

"Creekpaw!"

I spotted the tortoiseshell fighting the russet colored animal with Barkwhisker. Graypaw was on the ground, blood seeping from his shoulder and belly. He didn't look to good, for he was barely moving. Robinwing leapt onto the fox with the two cats and the fox snarled. However, another growl startled us. Another fox, this one larger than the other and with darker fur, ran at us. Well, more specifically me. I yowled and leapt for the creature and slashed it's shoulders. Glowpelt joined me and attacked it's legs. I heard a yelp and spotted Barkwhisker on the ground, his leg bleeding heavily. My shoulder stung as the fox bit into it, but I held on. Claws raked my belly and the fox's teeth dug into my ear. I yowled as I let go. Blood dripped from my ear, but I took aim again. The fox then turned to the other and leapt for those cats.

"No!"

I turned and saw Bluepelt run toward the group. He was bounding toward them and quickly leapt for the kill. His claws slashed through the smaller one's side as Robinwing got off. Creekpaw was the only one still hanging on. Her shoulders were bleeding heavily, just as I noticed her rear paw looked odd. The small one jumped out from them and ran off. Creekpaw thudded to the ground, her twisted paw stuck out at an odd angle. Graypaw looked worse now, for he was barely breathing. Another loud yowl sounded as Birchstar fell from the other fox. His neck was a pure red color as the claws of the fox were able to scratch his belly one more time.

"Get Mothpelt!" Dewpaw shouted

However, I knew something for sure. Graypaw wasn't going to make it back to camp.

...

The sun sat high in the sky, bringing a vibrant light down on camp. However, that wasn't how we felt. Graypaw was in Dusttail's den while Mothpelt was running around camp tending the wounds. The foxes had gotten away, running amok in our territory. My wounds throbbed as Mothpelt approached me.

"That's a bad shoulder wound." She mewed

I nodded. However we were lucky. Birchstar had lost a life, but it wasn't his last. Barkwhisker had a few scratches, like Robinwing. Bluepelt had a torn ear, like I did. But, Creekpaw had a deep wound in her belly and a sprained paw.. Dewpaw sat outside the medicine den, waiting for news about Graypaw. I felt bad for him, but I couldn't share his pain. I never knew my two brothers. My mother told me that Reedkit had died from greencough while Grasskit had died from leaving camp to early and drowning. But, I survived. Yet, I wish I had a chance to get to know them.

"Wha..What?"

I looked up and saw Dusttail looking grim. tail hung low and she shook her head.

"I'm sorry. Graypaw wouldn't live from that wound. He walks with Starclan now."

"He..He deserved to.." Birchstar began

"Hush Birchstar. Your throat is sore." Dusttail mewed

"No! Graypaw will be honored for his bravery and his courage to fight the fox."

The pale gray tabby stood up and limped over to Dusttail.

"Bring...Bring his body out." He rasped

Dusttail merely nodded and entered the medicine den. Mothpelt bounded away and entered the den as well. Poor Dewpaw, Creekpaw must be devastated too. Dewpaw followed as I sighed.

"He died a brave cat."

I turned and saw Bluepelt pad toward me. His left ear had a long tear in it, but it looked like it had some stuff on it to help heal. Mine did as well, but it wasn't nearly as bad. He laid next to me as Mothpelt, Dusttail, and Dewpaw came out, Graypaw's body being held up. He died protecting his clan, just as any warrior would have done.
