Yeah, I kind of just wanted to keep on writing so here you go… yeah, this is extremely abnormal. I still don't own the Avengers (Barring Heather/Psy and Jay/Flick).

By the way, in case it wasn't that obvious last chapter, Jay's parts are written in third person instead of First person as it is with Heather. It's just how I write, he's a boy and therefore I can't write him in first since I have no idea what it's like to be a boy.

Also, I have no idea if New York is one of the cities that gets originally covered, but I'm just going to pretend it is. I've also realised that this entire episode seems to take place during the night; hence I've decided to change that so that Jay can be included (Instead of just being asleep).

I'd also like to remind you that Jay is only ten years old, so his thought processes are somewhat strange sometimes.

The Cube

I ignored the Panther's comment and turned to see the remaining Avengers all receiving medical treatment, I had neglected to tell them about my painful side and was currently ignoring it.

"That's what? Nine Gamma villains back in custody?" Ironman asked, "Pretty good day, right?"

I gasped as an eerily similar green dome expanded towards us from an unknown origin. Oh no, not again. The New Dome expanded over us and, without any suits for protection; all the SHIELD agents and Avengers fell to the ground in pain. They all began mutating into monstrous forms leaving only Thor, Dr Samson and I left. I watched in fear as clothes and armour burst off grotesque bodies and all of them turned to us, their eyes bright neon green.

"How is this possible?" Thor asked as the three of us stood back to back in the crowd of Gamma-Mutants, "The Leader's machine was destroyed!"

"Clearly he made another… aah!" I started to reply then shrieked as Dr Samson was pounced on by Black Panther, who was mutated into a giant version of his namesake.

"Samson!" The Asguardian exclaimed. My view if the Scientist was obscured by more monsters that surrounded us. I gasped as I turned to see the mutant-Avengers, Cap like a blond Hulk, Ironman's armour twined with black and green tentacles and Wasp also in a mutant form of her Namesake. "Avengers, remember who you are!"

"I don't think their listening!" I told him fearfully as Mutant-Cap jumped towards us with a loud roar. I was able to dodge but soon all the creatures were upon us from all around. I was being attacked left, right and centre, and there was nothing I could do in return. They may have been Gamma-Mutants and attacking me, but they were still my friends! I tried my best, picking up some of the smaller creatures and throwing them into the others using my telekinesis, but I soon ran out of things to throw and was overcome. Black and green claws tore at my costume as others pushed me to the ground. Something hit my head and the world became a blur before fading to black.

New York

Not knowing what else to do, Jay backed against the wall. His former classmates approached him, their monstrous claws outstretched. He bit his lip hard; Heather had kept on drilling him on how he shouldn't give his identity away, no matter the situation. Did the class turning into monsters and attacking him count? His Mutated-Teacher raised its claw and made to slash at him. He crossed his fingers and hoped that Heather wouldn't kill him as he stepped backwards through the wall. He dashed down the corridor, they were everywhere! It seemed like everyone had been turned into these strange monsters! He rushed past several classrooms full of creatures before reaching the main entrance. Suddenly his way was blocked by a monstrous form that was only comparable to an Ogre, and not one like Shrek.

He gritted his teeth and just kept on running. He passed straight through the creature and crossed the playground onto the street, where he stopped to catch his breath. When he stopped he looked around to realise that it wasn't specific to his school, the streets were also filled with monstrous green creatures, and the air itself seemed green and foggy. If everyone had turned into monsters they why hadn't he? This was definitely not what he imagined for his first solo adventure.

Without waiting a second longer the tore down the road, he kept on running, phasing through anything in his way. He was only stopped when he caught a television flickering on in the window of an electrical shop out of the corner of his eye. He stopped and looked at it, if everyone had turned into monsters then how was it still working? The creatures around him stopped trying to attack and stared at it too.

A face appeared on the screen, he thought he had seen it before. Maybe on the list of villains they had to capture.

*ATTENTION HUMANITY! I COME TO YOU WITH A MESSAGE, AND THAT MESSAGE IS: DO NOT BE SCARED. THE GAMMA DOME THAT HAS FORMED OVER THE AMERICAN SOUTH WEST IS NO THREAT, IT IS A PROMISE AND IT IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD! FOR THE BETTER! YOU ARE WEAK, YOU SUFFER WITH YOUR SMALL MINDS AND FRAGILE BODIES AND YOU HAVE PLUNGED THE WORLD INTO DARKNESS WITH YOUR FAULTS. BUT I AM HERE TO SAVE YOU, I WILL RE-MAKE THE WORLD IN MY IMAGE, WILL REMAKE YOU IN MY IMAGE, YOU WILL BE PERFECT, LIKE ME, AND I WILL THINK YOUR THOUGHTS FOR YOU THE GAMMA ENERGY WILL GROW TO ENVELOPE ALL OF THE EARTH, AND YOU WILL BE TRANSFORMED. YOUR POWER WILL BE MY POWER! ACCEPT YOUR FUTURE, FOR I AM YOUR LEADER! WELCOME TO GAMMA-WORLD!*

Jay looked at the screen in horror. If that wasn't a villain monologue, then he didn't know what was. What he did know, was that he had to stop it!

The Centre of the Dome

"Bring them to me"

The four words cut into my unconscious mind as I felt myself thrown on the floor.

"Leave me"

"Agh, my Hammer, where?" I heard Thor ask. I slowly tried to sit up and found my head was pounding painfully.

"Yes, it is quite curious" the voice replied, I looked up to see the green mutated face of Samuel Sterns aka the Leader, "My Wrecking Crew could not lift your weapon, even with their strength enhanced by my Gamma-boosters. And you, of all the Avengers, were not affected by my Gamma energy; you and the Girl, now tell me why is that?"

"Hey! Don't call me Girl!" I protested as I tried to stand up.

"Only those worthy of the Thunder may wield Mjonir, Villain!" Thor proclaimed, "And as for your 'energy', mortal science holds no fear for an Asguardian!"

"And you, Girl?" The Leader turned to me.

"Absolutely no idea" I informed him, truthfully. "And stop calling me Girl!"

"I suppose if Gamma Energy has no effect on either of you, you will just have to serve as entertainment" the Villain replied with amusement.

"Come to me M…" Thor started, but was promptly leapt on by the Abomination.

"You think you're the future? Gladiators went out along with the Roman Empire!" I mocked. He simply smirked.

"I had something different in mind for you" he replied sinisterly.

"You call yourself Leader, but what gives you the right to lead this world?" Thor accused, "You defeat your enemies with trickery! With the strength of others! You have no honour!"

"You want me to talk, fine" The Leader replied. I decided you probably couldn't find any humility in him even if you had an electron microscope. "I am the most advanced mind the world has ever seen! I think on a level normal human beings cannot begin to comprehend! Look at this world, Asguardian, mankind is on the brink of destruction, they need me!"

"Why is it that Villains always seem to monologue?" I asked Thor offhandedly then turned to the Leader, "And what makes your mind so great? Can you do this?"

I threw out my hand and knocked him over telekinetically. Suddenly the Abomination's giant hand sent me sprawling. The reptile-like villain then turned on Thor and began pounding him with punches.

"To answer your question, no I cannot now, but I will" The Leader smirked at me. I suddenly noticed that I was sitting on a small circle on the floor. A glass tube shot up from the edges, encasing me. I screamed and bashed the glass but couldn't break it. Two tentacles shot from the floor and stabbed themselves into my temples. I screamed in pain, it felt like they were drilling straight into my brain. They probably were. Through the pain I heard him continue to speak. "You cannot win; you must know that, once I have combined the Girl's mental powers with my own intelligence"

"I disagree, Villain!" Thor replied. Electricity suddenly travelled up the metal tentacles causing the pain to intensify ten-fold. I let out a loud scream. Please can Jay not be caught up in this! But half of New York was already inside the Dome, what could I do but hope that perhaps Thor could do something to stop it? I vaguely heard some thunder and lightning and a bit of shouting through the pain, but I couldn't make anything out. It was like the machine was stripping my mind from my body!

"NEVER!" there came an almighty shout. There was a shattering of glass as the Abomination was thrown next to me, his scaly arm shattered the tube in which I was held. Without thinking, I grabbed the metal tentacles and ripped then from my temples. The world went black.

New York (The Dome-Covered part)

Jay had managed to sneak back to his and Heather's flat without being confronted by any of the monsters and quickly changed into his Flick costume. If he was going to stop this, he decided, he needed to look cool doing it. That and Heather would kill him if he revealed their secret identities to the villain. He was now searching endlessly for someone who was not a monster. He ported from rooftop to rooftop, looking down on the city below for something, anything that was not green. Not that he didn't like green, though his favourite colour was red, he just wished he wasn't entirely alone in this.

His salvation however, was green. At first he didn't know what it was: a strange dot that bounced up and down, appearing above the buildings every so often. He thought at first it was another creature, until he found it was a more familiar form.

"HEY! OVER HERE!" he shouted at the top of his voice, "HULK! IT'S ME! FLICK!"

He kept on shouting and the Green Giant came to land violently on the roof he was on, making a spider-web of cracks. It was then he noticed the purple-clad figure clinging to the Hulk's neck. Then he tensed, remembering that the last time they'd seen Hulk Heather said he'd been pretty angry

"Flick" Hulk huffed, "What're you doing here?"

"You know this kid?" The Purple figure asked.

"You can call me… Flick cause I… Flick from one place… to another" Jay parroted his usual introduction, earning an odd look from the purple guy.

"Uhh, that's nice" he replied awkwardly, "I thought everyone inside the dome was supposed to mutate?"

"Except me, I dunno why though" Jay told him, "So're you gunna go stop the Leader, if you are, I'm coming too"

"I don't think that's a good…" Purple-guy started.

"Hey, I'm an Avenger too!" he interrupted, "Who are you anyway?"

"Hawkeye" the man replied.

"Hey, aren't you the guy H- my sister said we were supposed to be getting last night?" Jay asked, remembering his sister's message.

"That's a long story" He replied, the Hulk huffed, annoyed at their conversation, "One we don't have time for right now"

The Hulk grimaced as Hawkeye climbed back onto his back.

"You might wanna hold on, kid" he warned as Jay ported up beside him, much to the Hulk's annoyance. It was a bumpy ride but the Hulk crossed the city and most of the country it felt like in a series of jumps and stopped half-way up a building in what appeared to be Las Vegas, holding on in a way reminiscent of King Kong. Both Jay and Hawkeye climbed off into a broken window. The building was right at the centre of the city and a green beam shot right up into the sky, creating the dome.

"And without the Avengers, who is left to stand against me?" Jay heard the villain laugh. He was standing on Hawkeye's shoulders in order to phase through the ceiling of the room above. As his head popped through the floor he saw that the villain had his back to them. He reached up his hands and solidified them then used them to pull himself up into the room. He stood to one side and a few seconds later there was a boom as Hawkeye burst the floor with an explosive arrow. The Archer jumped through the hole and strung his bow.

"You! With the Head! Freeze!" he ordered as the Leader turned to face them. The Hulk leapt through the hole and landed with a loud thump. Jay looked around the room and gasped as he saw the fallen form of his sister, blood dripping from either side of her head. He immediately ported over to her and tried to shake her awake with no avail. He was very much glad to find her still breathing.

"I knew you would come eventually, my old enemy" the villain smirked, "But you of all people must realise this is for the best, in Gamma-world no-one will hunt you, no-one will try and cure you, you'll be a king! Everyone who hated you, who attacked you, they will BE you! Are you really going to try and stop me?"

"No" the Hulk replied, Jay looked up in horror, "Not stop you! SMASH YOU!"

"Disappointing" the Leader sighed, "But not unexpected, Abomination!"

The darker green villain leapt at the Hulk, knocking them both onto the ground.

"You ready, animal? With the Leader's tech I'm stronger than you! I'm smarter than you! And I'm gunna beat you to your grave!"

The Hulk retaliated by kicking the Abomination up into the air and straight through the ceiling the jumped after him.

Hawkeye strung an arrow and shot it towards the Leader, only for it to be caught by the Mutated Black Panther. Jay didn't really know much about the newest recruit, but he sure seemed scary at the moment.

"You're either very brave or very stupid, Archer, Child" The Leader concluded, sounding amused as the mutated forms of the other Avengers, Captain America, Ironman and Wasp. "You're vastly outnumbered at the moment"

"That's ok, I've got an arrow for each of them" Hawkeye replied, firing a red-tipped arrow at Wasp. It appeared to have no effect as he strung another and ducked under her attack. Next Captain America lunged for him and he shot him in the back of the knee.

"What do you think you are accomplishing? Your toys cannot hurt my creations!" The Leader laughed

"Yeah, I'm not a genius like you, so I found one, and he made me some new arrows" the Archer smirked. Jay watched as the two Avengers who had been shot began transforming back into their normal selves. "His name is Bruce Banner, maybe you've heard of him"

"Indeed I have" the Villain replied as he pressed a button on his console. A glass dome covered his chair and the pedestal he was on transformed into a large robot with him inside.

"Great" Hawkeye said through gritted teeth. Jay reluctantly left his sister and ported behind Hawkeye. He grabbed two Gamma-arrows from the archer's quiver and then appeared next to the still mutated Panther. He hit him with one arrow before moving on to Ironman, making sure that this arrow hit between the chinks in his armour. Both heroes fell unconscious as the gamma radiation was sucked from them.

Hawkeye meanwhile was dodging green blasts from the Leader's armour.

"My Genius cannot be defeated!" the villain proclaimed, "I planned for every contingency!"

"Too bad you're such a lousy shot then, cucumber head!" Hawkeye retorted as he leapt up the robot's body and shot a grappling-arrow through the hold in the ceiling.

"Cucumber Head!" Jay laughed as he ported onto the roof. The Hulk was locked in combat with the Abomination, who was somehow twice the size he had been before. The latter slammed his foot down on the former.

"I'll always beat you, Hulk, do you hear me?" the villain roared "I'm better than you, in every way!"

"But I've got something you don't" Hulk taunted, "Backup"

The Gamma-villain looked up to see Hawkeye's purple figure and Flick's green and blue one across the roof. Hawkeye immediately shot an arrow which hit the Abomination in the centre of his forehead. The villain shrunk considerably as the arrow absorbed his Gamma energy. He pulled it off just in time to be slammed backwards by the charging Hulk, and was sent flying off into the distance.

"Ha!" Jay laughed as the villain became little more than a dot on the horizon.

"We got incoming!" Hawkeye warned as the Leader smashed through the ceiling in his robot armour.

"You think you can defeat me?" The Leader challenged, "I have already calculated a thousand to destroy all three of you!"

The villain looked up just in time to see the grey figure of the Absorbing man smash straight through his large visor and knock him over. Thor floated above in the sky as lightening flashed.

"Destroy, you do not know the meaning of the world, Leader" Thor informed him.

"You really wanna hurt the leader?" Hulk asked, "This is how!"

The Green Behemoth stomped over to the giant Gamma-Generator and began to rip it from the ground. The Leader's headband began to spark and he groaned in pain. Flick teleported next to him and phased the villain from his broken machine. The Leader lay pathetically on the ground as his head began to grow and mutate until it was too heavy for him to lift off the ground. There was a groaning and creaking of metal as the Hulk lifted the antenna up, disconnecting it and causing the gamma energy it was emitting to dissipate. With a roar he tossed the machine straight up so that Jay wouldn't be surprised if it made it to space.

The Leader crawled forwards like a slug, his massive head dragging on the ground. His head had become so large that the metal headband had snapped off. Jay let out a giggle at how ridiculous he looked.

"It would've been glorious" the defeated villain reminisced, "I was creating the perfect world, all in my image!"

"That's the problem" Hulk told him, "You're ugly"

"And Green!" Jay added, receiving an angry glare from the Hulk, "Not that I don't like green, green is cool! Just not on everyone"

Hulk backed down, though slightly reluctantly.

Below

My eyes fluttered open to stare at a large hole in the grey concrete ceiling. Seriously? Again? Was there ever going to be a mission where I didn't fall unconscious? As I sat up I noticed the unconscious forms of the other Avengers, barring Thor. Well at least I wasn't the only one.

"Agh, what happened?" Cap groaned as he too woke up.

"Are you talking before or after you lot turned into massive Gamma-Monsters and attacked us?" I replied, realising as I tried to sit up that I had yet another thumping headache.

"Uh… sorry?" Cap apologised.

"Hey, it's not as if you could help it" I pointed out, "Anyone know if we won?"

"FREEZE BY ORDER OF SHIELD!" came a shout and multiple Agents burst into the room.

"If you're looking for the Leader, he's not here" I told them, then I glanced to the hole in the roof that hadn't been there before I collapsed, "You might want to check the roof though"

The Agents stood down and a team was deployed to the roof, the remaining Agents stayed.

"Are any of you in need of any medical attention?" The lead Agent asked.

"Nah, I don't…" I started before Cap interrupted me.

"She does" he interrupted.

"No I don't!" I retorted

"You're bleeding out of your head" he pointed out.

"Oh yeah" I remembered reluctantly, that explained the headache.

Outside

"Ow!" I complained as the Medical guy tried to stitch the hole in my head, luckily instead of going right into my brain like I thought, the tentacles had only connected to the main nerve that ran in my temple, but there was still quite a big cut.

"It would be less painful if you kept still" he informed me.

"But it huuurts!" I whined like a ten-year-old. Speaking of ten-year-olds…

"PSY!" Jay, in his Flick costume, shouted as he ran towards me from where he had been standing next to Hawkeye. Wait, Hawkeye? Wasn't he supposed to be a traitor or something?

"Ouch!" I complained again as the thread pinched my skin together. I was going to have a hard time explaining this to Dr Connors.

"All done, miss" the Agent informed me.

"Finally!" I sighed as I got up to greet my brother, "Hey Flick!"

"I thought you were going to die!" he said melodramatically.

"You should know better" I smirked and kissed him on the forehead. "So what's Purple-Guy doing here?"

"He helped us, he's a good guy" Jay explained.

"Right, I think I'd rather work that out for myself" I decided as I stood up from the crate I had been sitting on, despite the protests of the Medical Guy, and walked over to where the purple figure was conversing with Agent Quartermaine.

"Footage from your Skycycle confirms your story; the Widow is working for HYDRA" Agent Quartermaine told him, "I sent agents to her location, but she was long gone."

"She's good, I'll give her that" Hawkeye admitted

"You're cleared, Hawkeye, your SHIELD Special Agent status will be reinstated" the Agent informed the Archer.

"You mean the same SHIELD that locked me up? Yeah, no thanks" he declined, "I'm going after the Widow on my own!"

"Here's another option" I jumped at the sound of Stark's voice near me. "Join us, join the Avengers"

"I don't think so" Hawkeye declined again, "Look how easily the Leader took you guys out, I'm better off on my own"

"And what of you?" Thor turned to Hulk, "Will you turn away as well? You are indeed a noble warrior, Hulk, one who has saved the Avengers and now helped save the world. I would trust you with my life. Will you trust us?"

"Uhh, I'll stay if Cupid stays" Hulk challenged the leaving Archer.

"You wanna go, Jade Jaws?" Hawkeye retorted, "Right here and now? Let's do this!"

"Ok, this is gunna be fun" Stark admitted.

"And right when he made up with Thor as well" I pointed out. Was this team destined to be consistently arguing? But hey, at least they're not all Gamma-Monsters any more.

So, how was it? I hope you enjoyed it and that it made sense and everything. The Leader wanting Heather's powers was kind of a spur of the moment thing, I was planning on having her fight a villain or something, but when I thought if it the more it made sense, with it being the one way her mind is superior to his.

As I said in the last chapter, Jay will have a larger role from now on, especially the next chapter.

Bye for now,
