To anyone still out there reading, thanks. I promise I WILL finish this story! I know where the story is going to go I'm just having a bit of a hard time getting there. Maybe it's because I no longer watch General Hospital, who knows...but I will finish this and hopefully it doesn't suck. I have other stories that I want to write, and yes they are Maxie/Jason stories...but I need to finish this one first. So here it is. Hope you enjoy!

"Thank you so much for coming to the wedding with me." Maxie smiled as they walked into the lavish hotel that was just down the road from the vineyard where Georige and Dillon were to marry.

"Isn't that what boyfriends do?" Jason said carrying their bags towards the reception area.

"So you're my boyfriend now?"

"Is that your way of telling me there have been other guys in my absence?" Jason balked jokingly, even without formal definitions they both had a solid understanding of their relationship status.

"Nope, it's just been me and my cell phone since you went home."

"You keep it on vibrate?"

Maxie stopped her walk towards the check in desk shocked by Jason's humor. She took a second to shake her head from its thoughts before continuing on with him, "So boyfriend huh?"

"Yeah, that sounds about right."

Jason happily carried Maxie's and his suitcases while she carried the hanging bags. It was a little before noon when they finally checked into the hotel, they had met up at the Dallas Fort Worth airport before traveling the short distance to Colleyville where the wedding would take place. The couple had plans to meet Georgie and her fiancée for lunch at one. It would be the first time that Jason and Dillon would meet. When Maxie first asked Jason to attend the wedding, he wasn't sure if he should go; but the promise alone of seeing Maxie had been enough to sway his decision, the picture Maxie had sent of her racy lingerie were just a bonus.

"So, we never talked about this but am I going to be meeting your parents this weekend too?" Jason asked.

"No. The parents are not attending this wedding. They—they're out of contact." Maxie muttered through. "But I really think you're going to love my grandmother. She's a riot."

"What about Dillon's family?"

"Yeah, his family is flying in sometime today. Apparently they are a bit on the eccentric side as well. The ushers are also bouncers making sure that everyone is on their best behavior. In addition to that the bride and groom have chosen to omit the objection part of the ceremony. Just to be on the safe side."

"Sounds like something my family would do." Jason joked.

"You're family; you mean you have a family?" Maxie spoke sarcastically, she had been doing her best not to push over the last five months, and she knew that Jason's biological family wasn't a large part of his life, yet another thing they had in common.

"Maybe someday I'll introduce you to them." Jason said not fully believing that moment would ever happen. "But probably only if I'm trying to punish you."

With the exception of two weekends together, one in Port Charles and one in South Beach, their relationship had been based upon phone calls and text messages and emails. After a freezing cold trip to Port Charles Maxie had jokingly refused to return to New York until at least summer hit. It was now the first weekend of April and Texas spring had officially set it.

"So we've got a little bit of time before lunch? Whatever should we do with ourselves?" Maxie smiled, quickly pulling Jason to the elevator kissing him just as the doors closed.

After six phone calls and numerous text messages Maxie and Jason finally arrived at the small café in the hotel to meet the bride and groom. Georgie and Dillon stood to greet them as they entered both women moving to introduce their respective men, although they quickly discovered introductions weren't necessary.

"Dillon?" "Jason?" They said simultaneously.

"You two know each other?" Georgie asked while Maxie stood in shock.

"Jason's my cousin." Dillon supplied shaking his hand before returning to his seat.

"No freaking way! What are the odds?" Maxie laughed taking a seat next to Dillon motioning for the others to sit down. "So Dillon's crazy family is your crazy family as well?"

"I guess, who all is coming?" Jason asked trying to mentally prepare himself for the arrival of the Quartermaine's.

"My mother, Ned, Monica, Grandfather." Dillon rattled off.

"So just enough of them to cause a scene." Jason smirked looking over to Maxie who just beamed back at him.

"So how did you two meet?" Dillon asked being the only one out of the loop.

"Jason was in South Beach. I know it's hard to imagine but he was there shorts and all." Maxie laughed while they group dug into their lunches, enjoying the calm moment before the wedding craziness begins.

The wedding ceremony was small, close friends and family. There were no objections and no drama, the way that a wedding should have gone. As soon as the I do's and pictures were done, Maxie quickly found Jason sitting in a chair at the back of the church. He had been able to avoid his family until this point. The reception was larger and held in a tent on Maxie and Georige's grandmother's property. Dillon and Georgie were seated on the center of a wooden dance floor, with Maxie and Jason and a few others, thankfully not with his family, seated off to another corner.

But the time finally came after Maxie convinced Jason to join him to dance with her. She had purposefully waited for a group of slow songs to come on and finally after poking and promises for later that evening Maxie had Jason standing towards one of the corners of the floor. Maxie had just gotten comfortable laying her head on his chest letting her arms rest on his biceps due to his height. She felt his body tense causing Maxie to wonder if he had finally been discovered by his family. Taking a step back, "do you want me to disappear for a few minutes?" Maxie asked fully knowing that Jason might not want to introduce her to his family. Even after nine months there were still very few people from Jason's world that Maxie had come into contact with.

"Might as well just get it over with." Jason joked leaning down to give Maxie a quick kiss on the lips before his family descended on them.

"Jason, what are you doing here?" A older blonde haired woman asked.

"Monica, Traci, Grandfather." Jason said simply not moving from his stance, his arm around Maxie's shoulders. "This is my girlfriend Maxie Jones, she's Georgie's older sister."

"It's nice to meet you all." Maxie said turning on her charm. She worked in a business where she often talked with strangers. This was easy for her, although usually they weren't her boyfriend's family, actually the last time she had met her boyfriend's family was her junior year of high school.

"Nice to meet you as well. Are you from New York?" The blonde woman asked, after shaking Maxie's hand.

"Uh, no I live near Miami, I met Jason there was while back." Maxie explained, not going into too many details. This wasn't her family, it wasn't her story to tell.

Just as Monica was about to ask another question, Georgie came up changing the topic of conversation.

"Dr. Quartermaine thank you so much for coming today. Is it okay if I borrow my sister for a moment." Georgie smiled quickly leading Maxie away from a bathroom break.

"You seem happy son." Monica said following Jason's eye sight as Maxie moved quickly out of the tent with Georgie.

"I am." He smiled looking fondly at his mother.

"I'm glad," she smiled hugging him, surprised that he hugged her back. "Do your mother a favor and dance with me." She smiled pulling her son out onto the dance floor smiling to see him carefree and happy, almost the Jason she remembered before the accident. Before he became Jason Morgan hired killer.

And she knew she had Maxie Jones to thank for it.
