A Wolf's heart

Chapter 10

Wow, I can't believe I'm at chapter 10 already! I love the way it's coming along. Here comes one of my favorite Arcs, good character development and all that.

Oh, the disclaimer, I forgot, I don't own any of the Fairy Tail characters, only Rin Wolfbane and other oc I make.

We walked in the Guild or Erza slammed the doors open. I looked at Gray freaked out face and sighed, scratching my bandages, if she wasn't already pissed at me, I would have ripped them off already. You know the saying, never poke a sleeping wolf or something like that, that's what Sage told me. We followed Erza till we were in the middle of the Guild. Erza asked everyone. "Is Master Makarov here?"

Mira smiled, walking over. "Your finally back from your island getaway, so how was it, did you have fun?"

I suppose we did, the fighting was great and if ignored all that happened to Gray, sure.

Erza glared. "It was work, not a vacation."

I shouldn't tell her what I think or mention how fun the drinking contest was thinking about Erza's reaction to it at first. Lucy was sweating and waving her hands. "Mirajane, I wouldn't joke with her right now."

I chuckled amused and Lucy elbowed me. "Stop that, do you want to die?"

I shrugged and Erza snapped. "Where is Makarov?"

She was sounding even madder. Macao stepped forward. "He went out of town for some kind of last minute council meeting or something."

Natsu grinned. "That was a close one."

Gray pumped a fist. "Now, we won't have to deal with That until Gramps gets back."

I cocked my head to the side. "Can someone tell me what 'That' is?"

Natsu shivered with Happy. "You don't want to know."

I frowned. "But-"

Gray cut me off. "You really don't want to know."

I closed my mouth and decided anything that scared both Gray and Natsu was something to be worried about. Lucy screamed that she was freaked out. Erza turned around. "Will you all shut up?!"

I stiffened at the glare on her face and inched behind Lucy. She squeaked while Natsu and Gray hugged each other. Wow, she makes them hug. Erza said. "Does anyone know where the master is to return?"

Mira smiled. "No, but he'll be coming anytime now."

I put my hand under my shirt and pulled at the cloth around my ribs, but moved my hand at her glare. She put her hands on her hips and said. "Now, listen up, you fools. You're not getting off the hook. You broke Guild rules by going on that S-Class Quest and prepare to be punished."

I moved back as Natsu and Gray hugged in fear. That is just too weird. The one with the tube hair said he felt sorry for me and Lucy and not Natsu and Gray, pissing them off and they went to beat him up. I snickered and the white haired one told them off for being unmanly. I really need to learn names here. Lucy was freaking out again. I pulled at my bandages and almost had them lose, ready to pull them off.

"Rin! For the last time, if you try to take them off one more time…"

I yelped in shock and almost fell at her scream. I saw a couple of strips past my shirt and she rolled her eyes and stomped over to me. My eyes widened and I remembered her doing it on Galuna Island and paled. I waved my hands in front of me. "Wait, Erza! I-I'm fine!"

She just scowled and was almost to me. I looked around in almost panic to see Natsu and Gray at the job board with Loke next to them. Lucy also moved away and I saw that I had no help. I looked around to see Mira smiling as she walked over. "I'll help her Erza, don't worry."

I smiled at her and Erza nodded, glaring at Natsu and Gray. She walked over and Mira steered me toward the back of the bar into a room. I sat on a table and threw my shirt off, wanting to get it over with. She came over with bandages and a jar of something. I asked. "Can't you just say you did and then I can leave?"

Mira giggled and shook her head. "Let me look first, please."

I sighed and nodded, she was way too nice. I took the bandages off. She gasped slightly and my eyes widened at the right side, I'm not healing. It was the same as yesterday. "I'm not healing."

Mira turned her head to the side as she asked. "What?"

I frowned, poking my side and wincing at the pain. "I heal faster than normal humans, I should be almost healed, but it's slow."

Could that be from the power the guy used with that black glob? She just put that jar stuff on it, some blue gel that was cold and made me squirm. She wrapped up my side, more gentle than Erza did. I walked inside just when Natsu finished saying these weird words. Natsu was saying how weird it was and I walked over, what was going on. The air was colorful for a moment and I felt weird, like my body was too heavy.

My arms, upper body and legs had more weight. I blinked, I feel the same. What the hell? I groaned and rubbed my head, I heard the others groan too.

"So cold!" What? Gray's cold?!

"What? Ice Wizards don't get cold, you big crybaby."

Was that my voice?

"What? I'm being serious here guys. Will someone turn up the heat? P-p-pretty please!"

Lucy then yelled. "What's going on? My chest feels really weird all of sudden. It's heavy! And my back's killing me."

I scowled at her. "What are you talking about?"

She glared at me. "Shut it, Elfman."

What did she call me? Elfman voice was heard. "Lucy? It's not manly to take to me like that!"

Oh, so that's his name. Gray screamed when he saw Lucy and Loki said he didn't remember being on the floor. This was all very confusing and I did not know what was going on. Lucy screamed. "What? You can face me, Dragon breath!?" as Natsu ran away.

I grabbed my hair and pulled. "What the hell is going on?!"

"Elfman, just calm down."

"Why do you keep callin' me Elfman?"

Macao gave me a weird look. "Because you're Elfman."

I gaped in shock and stared wide eyes at myself who also had wide eyes as she stared at me. I flailed back. "Who are you?!"

The me look alive glared and pointed at me. "It's not manly to steal someone's body!"

I glared. "I didn't take anybody!"

I looked at my arms and saw with a shocked feeling that they were very tan and 2 or 3 times as bulky as mine. I was pretty toned up with the training I did, but I would never be able to get muscles like this. I had pants on and an open collared shirt. I felt my face and felt hairy eyebrows and a rough scar on the side of my face.

I heard Happy yell. "Why is everyone behaving so foolishly?!"

My eyes widened, that can't be Happy. I heard Erza say. "Wow, Natsu, check it out."

"I'm standing right here, why is this place so dark. I thought Natsu left, why is Loke calling himself Nastu. Erza started squeezing her chest and Happy went to kick her, but hurt his foot on her armor and them started mumbling to himself. We crowded around Happy.

Gray yelled. "Now, I'm totally freaked out, first I'm freezing and then they're some creepy look alive of me."

Gray asked. "What are you talking about?"

I scowled, crossing my arms over my chest. "I don't know what's going on?"

Happy scowled. "How can you be such idiots? Don't you realize what happened to us? We all switched bodies!"

I screamed in horror with everyone else. It made sense, I want my body back then. I can't smell anything, it's all dull.

I heard my voice. "Rin! You ribs hurt, what'd you do to them?"

Happy shouted. "I knew it!"

Gray eyes widened "You mean…"

Happy nodded. "Yes, Natsu and Loke, Gray and Lucy, Rin and Elfman and worst of all me and Happy have all switched bodies."

I slumped over and fell on my rear, making the ground shake a little. I heard. "The ancient spell has been cast. You kids aren't feeling like yourselves today, huh?"

We ran over to Makarov and he said. "I have noticed that request on the board. By reading what was on that page aloud, you cast a powerful spell of humanity transference. That spell is called the Changeling."

I rubbed a hand over my face. Gray was in Lucy's body and Natsu was in Loke, just like I was in Elfman's and Happy was in Erza and the same for them. Gray asked Natsu. "So, you're really Natsu, right?"

"You idiot! What did you do to us?!"

"Me? All I did was try to read the stupid job request! Someone please turn on the lights!"

I pushed forward. "Stop it guys."

"Shut up!" I felt punches to my face and stumbled back. "If that's how you want to play…" I cracked my knuckles.

"Enough, Lucy uh Gray and El-Rin calm down. For wizards this is more than just your bodies, but it switches magic as well."

I gaped in shock and my jaw dropped. I want my lightening. Elfman in my body yelled. "It's not manly to be in a girl's body!"

The others gaped too. I scrubbed my hands through my shorter than usual hair. Makarov said. "If the Changeling spell was not fixed in 30 minutes of when it was casted, you will never return to the way you were before. Or so says the legend at least."

My eyes bulged in shock. Natsu yelled. "Do you know how long we been mixed up for?"

The 16 minutes I heard from her almost made me sick. Natsu said. "Gramps? Isn't there a way to life the spell and change us back!?"

We all looked at him hopefully. "Hm, since this is such an ancient magic, the only reason that I…don't know."

I was filled with horror and I fell back on the ground. Elfman yelled. "Don't faint with my body, as a man, I'm stronger than that!"

I just groaned and covered my face or Elfman's face with his arm. Gray screamed. "I can't take this anymore!"

I blinked as he started to take Lucy's shirt off. Macao, my body and cone guy's head started going red. My face looked weird making that face. Lucy jumped at him and held his arms. "Get a hold of yourself!"

Gray and Lucy were fighting with her shirt. I didn't care about that, how was I going to see Sage and show him how much I improved if I don't have my body or magic!? Happy in Erza's body said. "Even if Gray is in Lucy's body, he still likes to take off his clothes."

Happy then got excited and used Erza's power to requip into a swimming suit and the guys and Elfman with my body went red and happy again, it was still too weird to see my body react like that.

Erza got pissed off and then was passed out by Happy's elbos and she fell to the floor mumbling. Natsu shouted. "I see! We switched magic with each other and total stink at it."

Natsu came in screaming or his body. He was drooling fire and I grimaced, that's just gross. Lucy whined. "What are we going to do?" Then she started drooling ice. That's grosser.

"Ah!" I blinked and looked to see my lightening shook from my body and going in all different directions. It hit a wall, table and the bar. People dove out of the way and were yelling. "What the hell?" Oh, yeah Elfman didn't know how to use my powers.

Lucy started crying and I heard. "No need to worry, Lucy!"

I looked to see Levy, a girl in the Guild with blue hair that read a lot. The only reason I knew her name was because half the time the other two behind her chanted in a cheer in the Guild when she was doing something. Lucy cheered. "Levy! It's you!"

The one with the yellow belts across his chest said. "Team Shadow Gear is here to save the day. You guys will be back to normal in no time."

Lucy said softly. "You're so sweet to help us!"

Levy smiled up at him. "Anything for my girl, besides I want to read your novel, it would be weird talking about it with Gray." That was said lower and I could barely hear it with Elfman's crappy hearing.

I said. "Your face is way too creepy with Gray's face."

That got me a glare from Lucy and Gray. Well, it was true and Natsu in Loke's body just laughed. He asked. "What are you going to do?"

I leaned forward. "Yeah what?"

Levy put on some red glasses. "Well, I do know some things on ancient texts. I take a look on what was written on the flyer itself."

Gray nodded. "Sounds good, but do it quick."

"Bringing us back to our normal bodies is man!"

Erza told us off, but then got depressed when she found a fish on her mouth. I have to admit, Erza switching with Happy is one of the funniest things ever. Levy looked over a book as we had 10 minutes left. Levy was stumped and I whined. "I want my powers back."

I blinked, I don't usually whine. Gray screamed, yanking at Lucy's shirt. "THAT'S IT!"

Lucy screamed. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT!"

I really didn't care what was happening with them, my time was running out.

Natsu asked. "How much time do we have left?"

Macao said. "8 minutes."

I choked and slapped a hand to my forehead. "Dammit!"

I looked at the two of the boys behind Levy cheering. I sighed. "That's not helping at all."

I sighed as Levy mumbled to herself, slumped down on the bench. It was quiet as we all sulked and Gray asked. "So, what happens if we're stuck like this?"

I shrugged and Gray said. "Are we just going to try adjusting to our powers and going on jobs?"

Natsu said. "I guess we have to, we don't have a lot of options."

I scratched my head and whispered to Gray. "What kind of magic does Elfman even have?"

"Uh, takeover, turning his arm into a rock."

I sighed again and put my chin in my hand with my elbow on the table. Happy was happy with it and thet decided they were the weakest team. I stiffened my large back. I am not weak.

They tried using their magic, but it didn't work. People had to move different ways as my lightening streaked blue in all directions. I tried doing the takeover thing, but nothing happened. Great, his magic didn't even work! We slumped in depression.

Erza sulked the most. "If only I wasn't stuck in this weak form!"

"Your mean, I like being a cat!" I flinched as Happy flew on Erza, crushing her.

I heard Levy shout. "Yes, that's it!"

We all ran forward. Natsu grinned. "So you can really lift the spell?"

Gray demanded her to fix it and I nodded in agreement, leaning forward. She smiled. "This is what it says, may this eternal exchange supply you with eternal happiness."

I gaped and fell back on my back. All she did was tell us what it meant! I threw a big arm over my face and waited to see what would happen.

"3 minutes left."

I shot up and leaned on the table Levy was on. "Come on!"

I heard Elfman yelling go Levy in the back ground, I know he didn't want to be like me and I didn't want to be like him either. I screamed in shock after the Erza/Happy moment when Macao told us we had one minute left.

"Come on, Levy!" I looked at her worriedly and she had a worried look on her face.

Makarov suddenly made a noise like he had an idea and we all looked at him. "Never mind kids, I drawn a blank."

I yelled out in horror, he's supposed to help us!

Gray screamed. "We're not going to make it!"

Lucy and Gray fought for her shirt again. I yelled out. "I want my body back and I want it now!"

Elfman was yelling something of the same thing.

"40 seconds left."

I snapped. "That is not helping!"

Makarov said. "I just remembered something about the spell. To be lifted, it has to be done one pair at a time. Meaning it's impossible to change all of you back at once."

Natsu screamed in shock and I gaped at the 30 seconds I heard. "Me and Elfman should go first!"

I growled under my breath and started yelling at Lucy and Gray, Elfman helping me by yelling about 'being a man'.

Levy then got it so we stopped and ran to her. She called something a bunch of times and a light hit. I gaped in shock as a light went up in the ceiling. I felt myself and looked down. I felt the pain in my ribs and cheered. "My body is back to normal!"

"That's what it's like to be a man."

Gray and Lucy were all turned back. Levy said all she had to do was read in backwards, really that's it?

I laughed, man who cares. I jumped in shock when Natsu, Loke, Happy and Erza were in the wrong bodies. I gaped in more shock when Mira and Makarov switched. I paled. "I'm out of here; I'm not getting switched again."

With that, I ran off behind the bar in that room I was in before. I hear people yelling and cursing my name. I ignore it and waited. "Yay, all our bodies are back."

I walked out and grinned. "Well, that's a relief."

They all yelled at me. "YOU JERK! YOU LEFT!"

I scrunched up my nose at them and said. "Like you wouldn't do the same."

It was quiet before they looked away. I smirked and then we all decided something, reading requests like that was never happening again.

It was sort, but I want to separate this from the next arc, so until next time. Would have had this sooner but just finished watched the short but awesome anime Kill la Kill yesterday, so sad to see it over though. Ryuko one of the best female heroine's I seen.
