Chapter 7. Why are those lips so addicting? The sound of shoes hitting pavement. That's all that was heard other then the low wind sweeping through the city. Step after step. Misty stormed towards the train station with the two males behind her. She was pissed. Misty was aimlessly muttering curse words and other foul things in her anger. As the group rounded a corner, Aidan and Nadia came into view. A look of confusion passes over the twins faces. Aidan and Nadia gazed at Misty as her pace slowed and she approached the two. The wind blew and scattered hair and ruffled clothes. "What happened?" Aidan asked in a slow voice. Misty let out a low growl and Aidan immediately shrunk back. Misty's eyes flared with anger and Gage and Zan caught up to her. She took a deep breath before speaking in a dark tone. "Ryuuki was taken." She stated. Nadia gasped softly and Aidan's eyes widened. The twins couldn't help but become very concerned. What if she was hurt? Why? Where did they take her? "Wait, who took her?" Nadia asked hurriedly. Misty let out a dark chuckle that Gage had heard before. She pushed her hair back and let out a sigh. Her violet eyes seemed clouded and her mind seem to be reeling. "The same bastards that tortured me for years. Those dam keishen scientists or what ever the hell they are." Misty rambled and started walking again. "We are gong to save her. You guys coming?" She called over her shoulder. Aidan and Nadia glanced at each other before the two followed after her, Gage and Zan. Every step closer to the train station, Misty felt her anger grow and mix with the fear stirring in her stomach. 'Am I really going back there?' She thought. Misty shook her head and approached the ticket station. She walked up to the window and gazed at the man behind the glass. "Five going to Acton Ontario in Canada." Misty stated simply. The man shuffled through papers. "Um sorry but there is no mission there so I cant send a-" He was cut of by Misty slamming a fist into the glass. The glass didn't break, but a crack formed. The man jumped and Gage looked at her with wide eyes. "I said, five for Acton Ontario, Canada." She repeated in a dark tone. The man nodded and hurriedly tapped a few buttons on his computer and soon a train whistle resonated through the air. Gage walked up to Misty and gripped her arm tightly. "Misty you need to calm down. You nearly scared that man shitless." Gage said and glared at her. "Gage I cant calm do-" Gage cut her off by placing a finger to her lips. "Misty. relax. We are going to get her back. There is no need to take your anger out on any one." Gage said in a soothing voice. Zan, Aidan and Nadia watched Gage with surprised gazes. No one had ever silenced Misty that easily. Zan turned and Aidan and Nadia climbed on the train. Moments later, Misty climbed on the train followed by Gage. They took a seat in a booth across from the other three. Zan looked at the two and smiled softly. "Thanks for helping me guys." Zan said in a grateful tone. Misty nodded and smiled back. The train gave a lurch as it pulled out of the station. "You're welcome. We will get her back." Misty said reassuringly. Zan nodded. Hours later, the train clattered along in the dark of the evening that was falling. The train was silent other then a few soft snores coming from the others. Every one but Misty and Gage were asleep. Misty sat curled up, gazing out the window at the burred scenery. She looked down and pulled the silver locket from her pocket. Clicking it open, she gazed at the pictures. Two small photos. A small smile was brought to her lips. The first picture was of a younger her and the second was of Gage and her standing in front of the DWMA smiling and waving. Misty let out a chuckle and Gage glanced over at her. He watched the smile trace onto her beautiful face and he felt a smile tug at the corners of his own. "You know Misty... Smiling suits you... I wish you would smile more often." He said in a soft voice. Misty glanced up at Gage and a pink blush tainted her cheeks. She smiled a bit wider and Gage shifted closer. Misty gazed at him. "Misty.. Can... Can I..." Gage trailed off mid question. He looked away, figuring this was not the time to do that. 'She wouldn't let me any way..' He thought. Misty shifted closer to him this time and gazed at him with those eyes he adored so much. "Can you what Gage?" Misty asked softly. 'Maybe I should...' he thought. Gage gazed at her and opened his mouth for a second before closing it. He suddenly leaned forwards and brushed his lips across the soft pink of Misty's lips. Mistys eyes widened and a dark red blush replaced the soft pink from before. Gage excepted a slap across the face, so when Misty's eyes fluttered shut and she pressed her lips against his, he was very shocked. After a moment, Gage regretfully pulled away and gazed at her. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have... I mean now isn't the time for me to confess my feelings I..." He rambled on. Misty smiled at him and gently took his hand. "Thank you... I needed the distraction." she said. Just then, a laugh was heard across from them and Misty went dark red as Zan laughed. "I knew it. You two do have feelings." Zan said and smirked slightly. Misty got flustered and glared at him. "Hey now! Don't laugh! Don't think I don't know about you and Ryu doing the do! its so obvious!" Misty said and it was Zans turn to go deep red and shift awkwardly. Gage eyed them and rolled his eyes. After a while the train began to slow and pulled into the train station in Acton. As the group got off the train, a familiar face was walking down the street. Misty ran up the woman and rested a hand on her shoulder. The girl turned and smiled widely. It was Lilly Anne "Misty!" Lilly said happily and the two girls hugged. Misty and Lilly spoke for a quick moment before Misty waved the others over. "We are going to rest at Lilly's tonight and leave in the morning. Lilly, this is Gage, who you know, Zan, Aidan and Nadia." misty introduced her friends. Lilly smiled and then began to lead the group to her home. She asked no questions and was silent the whole way. The sky was dark and it was much cooler here even though it was April. A cold spring wind blew through the city and the moon shone above amongst the many stars. Once they reached the apartment, Lilly smiled and led them in. the apartment was a simply one bedroom apartment. the walls were a pale peach and many pictures hung on the walls and books and paper lay scattered on the small kitchen table. "Make your selves comfortable, I will prepare some food for dinner. Its only around six now." Lilly said. Misty remover her coat and hung it up after removing her shoes. "Ill help you." Misty offered. A while later, every one sat in the living room eating a stew Lilly and Misty had prepared. Every one ate in silence. After all, what could any one say? Misty finished off her stew and set her bowl down and leaned back into the couch. "Thank you Lilly." She said and smiled at her old friend. Lilly nodded and smiled. Lilly finished her food and stood up. "If you guys are staying the night, you will need some blankets and pillows. Ill be right back." Lilly skipped off into a room. A moment later she returned with an arm full of big blankets and pillows. She set them down and soon every one had a place to sleep. Aidan and Nadia were sharing a love seat, Zan was in the arm chair, Gage was on the pull out couch. Misty had offered to sleep on the floor so she had a small bed made of blankets. It was now at least one am. Misty lay awake on the floor, unable to sleep. She huddled under the fuzzy pink blanket with hearts scattered on it and sighed. The apartment was warm, but Misty still shivered. She was worried for her friend. "Cant sleep?" Gage whispered. Misty glanced up and saw Gage leaning over the side of the pull out couch. Misty shook her head and sat up. "Nah. To much on my mind." Misty mumbled. Gage smiled softly. "Same here. I cant stop thinking." "About what?" Misty asked. Gage chuckled a bit and his eyes lidded half way. "Your lips." He whispered truthfully. Misty smiled at him. She stood and grabbed her pillow. She walked around and crawled onto the bed. Putting her pillow down, she flopped onto her side facing Gage. She smiled and gazed at him as he rolled over and tossed the blanket over Mistys legs. Misty gazed at him and blinked slowly. "Really?" Misty whispered. Gage nodded and spoke. "Of course. They are addicting. Can ya blame me?" He said with a chuckle. Misty rolled her eyes but couldn't help the faint blush. She leaned forwards and gave him a quick peck on the lips before flipping onto her back and closed her eyes. "Go to sleep dummy." She whispered. Gage chuckled and closed his eyes. He slowly circled his arms around misty during the night and by the time morning came, the two were wrapped in each others arms. Misty was silent and a soft snore came from Gage's lips that were stretched into a smile.
