Sorry this has been a long waited for update, between University work and writing something else, I've had so little time.

Well, I'm back- this is a bit of a filler chapter, hope you all like who I've added in at the end :)

Beth, Mark and Chloe Latimer were at the hospital less than fortyminutes after she came in and were panicking at the lack of information from the harried looking doctors when they heard a quiet, croaky voice from behind them

"They don't know anything yet… they have nothing to tell you"

They turned and saw Alec sitting there with soot over his shirt and jeans, and a forlorn, shell-shocked look on his face.

The Latimer's glanced at each other and saw the impossibly hurt look on Alec's face and it was Beth that sat down next to him and squeezed his hand "It'll be okay"

It was a strange moment that passed between them all, everyone highly aware of the fact that six months before, the roles had been reversed and Alec had been sitting with them talking about their son's death.

The memory of Danny was still there and Alec shook his head and leant over, breathing into his clasped hands, staring at a point on the floor.

Mark looked concerned "Where is Flynn?"

"He's with Ollie. He wouldn't let him go and Taylor's brother was on his way"

They nodded and sat down, all in complete silence but taking some comfort in each others presence.

Taylor had been in the ER for over two hours before they had heard anything, and the only news was simply that she was in a coma, she would need supervision, but she was alive, and that was something at least.

Alec didn't leave her bedside for the entire four days it took her to wake up, only leaving to use the toilet or get some more coffee. He was exhausted, broken, and feeling guilty that he had left.

Taylor was drowsy and confused when she woke up, and was alone in the hospital room, the machines and walls slowly coming in to focus and she was slowly moving her hands, waiting for the feeling to return to normal.

She was still feeling confused and woozy when Alec came into the room a few minutes later, nearly dropping his coffee when he saw her eyes open

"Taylor, fuck you're awake? Shall I get a nurse or something?"

She shook her head and beckoned him over slightly, her voice croaky and quiet "Water?"

Alec moved quickly and tricked a small amount of water from the bottle on the side into her mouth and she looked at him, worried, her voice still raspy from the smoke "Where's Flynn?"

"He's with Cooper, he's fine, your brother has been looking after him" he sat on the side of the bed, touching her hand gently "James was arrested. He's badly injured but he's under police guard wherever they're keeping him. He can't go near either of you again"

She looked dazed but nodded slightly "I want to see my son"

Alec swallowed "I'll call your brother, just to warn you Tay... you still have… bruises, you need to be careful with him, Flynn is still scared about what happened"

Her voice was cold and cutting "Just let me see him"

Four hours later Beth Latimer sat down next to Alec and smiled encouragingly, a hand on her ever growing bump "I heard she's woken up?"

"Yes. She wanted to see Flynn"

"Don't be offended, she was probably terrified that he was hurt"

"Hmm"

Beth could see that Alec was distracted and turned properly towards him "What's happened? Is she still badly hurt?"

"No, she's uh, she doesn't want anything to happen between us anymore. She doesn't want anything to do with me"

Beth didn't know what to say but squeezed his shoulder lightly.

Alec was barely aware that Beth was there, feeling a crushing weight of what he had lost as his phone started to ring. He wanted to ignore it but when he glanced down he saw the caller ID show up with 'Leanne' and knew he couldn't ignore his daughter now that she was finally making contact with him.

Ellie had managed to talk to Alec but he was focussed only on how Taylor was doing, and as she was staying with Ollie, who was her nephew, Ellie was kept abreast of her recovery.

She had left the hospital after a few days and had moved into Ollie's small house with Flynn, who had brightened up since seeing his mother.

She was still covered in bruises, stitches and cuts, but she'd astutely refused to stay in the hospital, despite the fact that she was struggling with everything, even getting in and out of bed was a struggle that Ollie had to help her with.

Taylor had been at home for over a week when Ollie came back with some groceries and found her alone in the front room, trying to pull on her coat, though it was an obvious struggle with all the bruises speckled over her body.

"What are you doing?"

She snapped at him "Putting my coat on, what does it look like?"

"Well I was wondering where you were going? Where's Flynn?"

"I need to go for a walk or something, I'm going stir crazy here –no offense- and I want to take stock of the damage to the house. Cooper took Flynn out to a fair down the coast, they'll be back later"

"Taylor, I don't know if it's a good idea for you to go out-"

"I'm a grown woman, and if I want to go and see the pile of ash that used to be my house- then I should be allowed to"

She sighed, shoulder slumping "Look, I'm sorry Ollie, but I can not keep cooped up in here for the rest of my life. It's been two weeks since I saw the outside world, and that was right before James nearly killed me and tried to burn my house down"

Ollie looked physically ill at her words and shook his head "Don't talk about it like that"

"well, we all have to move on don't we. The past is the past"

She gingerly bent down to pick up her keys and Ollie swallowed, speaking before he thought

"I saw Alec today by the beach, he looked sad"

"He'll move on, they always do"

There was a long, extended and awkward pause before Taylor slowly walked past him, her voice quiet "I've got my phone on me, call if you need me"

Ollie looked defeated and she quickly kissed him on the cheek "Thank you, for everything"

She left the house, and as the door closed, Ollie wondered if he should have told Taylor that he had seen Alec with his daughter.

Taylor only made it halfway to the surgery house before she got exhausted and sat down on a bench that faced out onto the sea over the cliff.

She hadn't come across anyone as it was the middle of the day on a weekday, and most people ere at work, and she was glad.

Of course, the only person that she wanted to see was Alec, and he was nowhere in sight. As much as she never wanted to see him again, she felt the need to explain exactly what was going on, but she couldn't bring herself to do it in case she gave in and got back with him.

She noticed the girl in her peripheral vision before she had sat down beside her and Taylor glanced up, confused at who she was.

The girl was in her late teens, with long dark hair, light green eyes and high cheekbones, her cheeks flushed from the cold sea air and she was wrapped up tightly in a coat, scarf and gloves that told Taylor straight away that she was a City girl, and not used to the cold weather by the sea.

"Can I help you with something?"

"You don't know who I am do you?" Taylor looked at her closely and thought she saw a flicker of something familiar but shook her head

"No, and I'm really not in the mood to talk so sorry but-"

"My name is Leanne. Leanne Hardy, Alec Hardy is my Dad"

So we're going to see why Taylor broke up with Alec, what her plans are, we'll see some more of Leanne, and we'll definitely see some Ellie Miller.

Let me know what you thought and what else you want to see! x
