Chapter Ten: Naruto and Baby Naru!
Mirror Shop
The mirrors were the same as always, no one ever entered the shop, but the old lady didn't mind, she was always in the shadows of her shop, her shop had a purpose itself, it lures people who were hiding from their real self and it was the shop and the old lady's job to let those people realize of who they truly are. She smiled when she remembered the young man that went to her shop, she had seen what was locked in his heart; his love for his family, his hate for his brother, sadness for being alone, hunger for revenge... but what caught her attention the most were those cerulean eyes, it seems like that person was someone whom the boy had wanted but didn't know it. She knew her mission and she wanted to make that raven man realize what he really felt towards that blond man
She touched the mirror on her table and smiled.
"May he realize his real feelings before it's too late."
Then with that she vanished again in the dark.
Inn
Sasuke went out of his room and waited for Kakashi to appear, he leaned on the wall while thinking of the situation he was in right now. Naruto was still sleeping and he didn't want him to come with him when he talks with Kakashi outside the place, and he was sure that Kabuto will be around the area to know why Kakashi and the other Konoha ninja's are here.
He sighed and realized that it was Kakashi he was waiting for, that means he'll come late and Sasuke didn't want to wait for him, he stood up straight and went towards the lobby of the place and see if he could ask the landlady to tell him where Kakashi stays. He didn't worry about Naruto since he had created a Bunshin to watch over him.
On the other hand, in Kakashi's room, all of Team 7 were gathered and were discussing about what Kakashi had told them last night.
"So, are we going to go meet Sasuke as a team or will you be alone, Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked.
"About that, We are going Sakura, since you are his teammate also and you'll help me explain to him the situation without getting your hopes up, understand?" Kakashi looked at her calmly and she hesitantly nod.
"While Yamato," Kakashi glanced at Captain Yamato, "You and Sai will follow us secretly, we don't know if Kabuto will not follow what Sasuke told him, so it's better that we get ready for battle."
Yamato and Sai nods and as things were explained and all have agreed, Kakashi stood from his sitting position and looked at them.
"Then shall we meet with Sasuke then?" he smiled as if they were still allies and not enemies.
They were about to go out of Kakashi's room when they heard a voice behind their backs.
"That won't be necessary."
They stopped dead on their tracks and were suddenly on their guards, kunais on hand, they turned to see the intruder only to see that it was Sasuke himself leaning on the wall beside the window.
"Sasuke-kun..." Sakura couldn't believe that she was really seeing Sasuke again.
"Since when did he..." Yamato couldn't believe it that they hadn't sense him appearing.
"My, my, if it isn't Sasuke-kun." Sai smiled and dropped his guard down receiving a blank look from Sasuke.
Sasuke turned his glance to Kakashi and stood up straight.
"I was thinking that you'll be late in meeting me in my room, so I made it easier for you." he calmly said.
"Shall we discuss this in here or somewhere else?" he asked.
"Where's Naruto?" Sakura asked when she didn't saw Naruto with Sasuke.
"Kakashi..." Sasuke ignored her as he was only focusing his eyes on Kakashi.
"Sasuke-" Sakura was about to shout when Kakashi stopped her.
"Maa, maa... calm down Sakura." Kakashi said and place his hand on her shoulder to calm her down, "I'm sure, Naruto is okay." he smiled and looked at Sasuke.
"Shall we discuss this as we eat our breakfast? I have found a nice restaurant that is perfect to start our discussion." he turned and walked towards his door and opened it, "Shall we go then?"
Sasuke walked towards the door followed by an annoyed Sakura, a smiling Sai and a strict look Yamato.
Cave
"Well then... shall we go follow Sasuke-kun?" Karin asked getting excited.
"No," Kabuto said, "I'll only go alone, you guys will stay here as what Sasuke-kun had said."
"Ehhhh?!" Karin whined, "Why? Didn't you say that we have to-"
"Sasuke-kun wants to go alone, as for me, I have to follow them to know why Konoha ninja's are here and tell Orochimaru-sama." he turned but stop on his track, "By the way, if you follow me, be sure to face Sasuke-kun's wrath." he glanced at Karin the most, "especially you Karin, I know you are crazy over Sasuke-kun, but you know how he gets annoyed easily." he then opened the door and left the trio.
Karin was embarrassed by what Kabuto had said and turn to glared at Suigetsu who was snickering, and she threw her rage on him resulting to another fight while Juugo was just sitting quietly on the couch.
Streets
Kakashi was leading Sasuke and Sakura in a restaurant they were going to talk and eat while Yamato and Sai were following them afar, they were checking the area to make sure that no one will attack Kakashi and Sakura while they talk with the Uchiha.
"So Sasuke, how's training?" Kakashi asked as if they weren't in bad terms right now, he received a glare from Sakura and a blank look from Sasuke.
Why is he even asking Sasuke-kun that?! Does he want Sasuke-kun to kill us before we could tell him what our problem is?
Sakura was thinking of changing the topic but she couldn't come up with anything, as for Sasuke, he was just ignoring Kakashi and wanted to get to that restaurant as soon as possible so they could discuss what they want and so he could also give them Naruto back.
"Was it your plan?" Sasuke asked suddenly.
"AH, about that it's-" Kakashi started to talk when Sakura cut him off.
"What are you saying, Sasuke-kun? We didn't even-" Sasuke glared at Sakura when she had cut Kakashi's answer.
"Sakura..." Kakashi said giving her a stern look.
"Sorry..." she bow her head and kept quiet.
Before Sasuke could hear Kakashi's answer, he saw him stop and look on his left side.
"We're here..." Kakashi glanced at them smiling, "shall we go inside then?" he went inside not waiting for his or Sakura's answer, so they followed him quietly.
On the other side of the streets, Kabuto was walking towards Sasuke's Inn trying to catch Sasuke on his room so that he could tell him his plan so that Sasuke won't kill him when he finds out. He was walking calmly that he didn't even notice that he was being followed.
Orochimaru-sama had told me to follow Sasuke-kun when he meets those Konoha ninja's, they seemed to be on a mission since they are hiding their chakra. It seems that they are after Sasuke-kun, but something doesn't seem right in this situation.
Kabuto was focused on his thoughts that he didn't noticed the two figures behind him.
If they are after Sasuke-kun, they should have attacked our new hideout when they came here, but instead, they were disguising themselves as villagers from another village or country. What are they-
"Don't move..."
Kabuto stopped dead on his track when he had heard someone talk behind him, he gulps and slowly turn when he had sense a terrifying chakra, then he stopped, completely paralyzed in his grounds.
"It's our lucky day, isn't it Itachi-san?" Kabuto looked at the shark face man that was grinning and showing his sharp teeth.
"Indeed." Itachi was looking at Kabuto while answering Kisame.
Kabuto couldn't find his voice, he was surprise to see 2 Akatsuki trailing him, but what did they want from him?
"You're going somewhere, right? As Orochimaru's underling, it must be important..." Itachi said.
Then it was too late for Kabuto to look away as he was already caught in Itachi's trap, he was under Itachi's spell now and he could do nothing about it.
"Lead us where you are going..." Kabuto's body moved on it's own and started to walk, leading the 2 Akatsuki's to where he was going.
"Itachi-san, didn't you say that the nine-tailed fox was our top priority? Why are we..."
"The nine-tail holder is chasing Sasuke in every chance he's got, so meeting Sasuke will give us a chance to see the nine-tail holder and capture it." Itachi said as he slowly follows Kabuto.
"I see..." Kisame licks his lips, "Then can I have some fun playing with his teammate, Itachi-san?" he evilly smirks.
"You can do whatever you want, Kisame, but leave Sasuke alone, I'll handle him myself together with the nine-tail holder.
Guess you'll meet me again, little brother, earlier than we've expected.
Back on the small restaurant that Sasuke and the others went, they didn't sense that something bad was about to happen.
Naruto's Own Mind
It was Dark in everywhere you look, nothing to hear, nothing to see, nothing to feel or sense. Naruto was standing there all alone, he didn't know what was happening now in the real world, he was just staring into nothingness.
"Hello!"
Naruto turned with a surprised look and saw a Baby sized of him.
"Who are you?" Baby Naru asked, standing on his feet, smiling at Naruto.
"Do you live here?" Baby Naru pouts and looks at Naruto.
"Aren't you lonely being alone in a dark place like this?" Baby Naru looks at Naruto with a sad face.
Naruto just looks at him, not making any sound, then he saw Baby Naru smiles again.
"I'm Naru! Your name?" Baby Naru asked excitedly.
"Naruto..." Naruto found his voice and smiled at Baby Naru, he knew that this child was the present him in the real world.
"Hey! We have the same name!" Baby Naru claps his hands happily.
"But everyone calls me Naru!" Baby Naru said, "Especially Suke!"
"Suke? Who is that? Everyone?" Naruto kneels down in front of Baby Naru so that Baby Naru won't have to look up to him.
"Everyone!" Baby Naru raised his right small hands in front of Naruto, "There's Ba-iyan!" he points using his left forefinger at his right pinky finger, "then Shi-nee, Kashi, Ruka, Kura, Sa-yi and most of alll, Suke!" now seven little fingers were in front of Naruto.
Naruto looks at Baby Naru...
"Can you describe them?" he smiled at Baby Naru and sat in an Indian position, "I'd like to know them as well..." he said and picked Baby Naru to let him sit on his lap.
Baby Naru chuckled and glance at Naruto then return to look in front.
"Ba-iyan is the Hokage as Kura says."
Naruto then knew who was Ba-iyan, she was his Baa-chan also, he smiled and continue to listen to Baby Naru.
"Then Shi-nee is Ba-iyan's friend holding a pig!" Baby Naru was talking animatedly and Naruto let him finished before talking once again.
After Baby Naruto's explanation about everybody, Naruto has now known who he was talking about, he smiled when he learned that Baby Naru called Iruka-sensei, Ruka, he told Baby Naru that he knew who they are since they are also his friends, but there was still someone who he didn't know.
"Nee, Naru-chan, who is Suke?"
Baby Naru looked at him with sparkling eyes, but then it changed quickly and Baby Naru bows down.
Naruto glanced at the now sad Baby Naru.
"What's wrong, Naru-chan?"
"Anou sa... If someone gets angry at you, does that mean that he hates you?"
"Eh?"
"You see, Me and Suke met just a few days ago and he was nice to take me home at his place when he couldn't find Kura."
"I see... but who is Suke? I don't think I know him..."
"Suke is my friend! My new friend! Of course you don't know him like I do!" Baby Naru boast.
"Oh really? Is he new at Konoha?" Naruto asked, relief that Baby Naru was happy again.
"NO!" Baby Naru shook his head, "You see, we are now in another village!" Baby Naru said.
Naruto was stunned, why did Baa-chan allowed him to go on a mission if he was in a child's body?
"Suke was the first person I met," Baby Naru continued to speak, "He has a black hair and black eyes!"
Naruto smiles, "I see, so did he help you find our friends?"
"We couldn't find Shi-sei or Kura anywhere, so Suke is still looking after me." Baby Naru says.
Naruto was worried, he was with someone else while he was a child and has no memory, black eyes and hair, there's so many people with black hair and black eyes, heck, he hasn't even gone to Mirror Village in his past missions!
"Naru-chan, are you sure, this 'Suke' person you call as your friend is nice?"
"He might be acting you know"
"He might sold you to a bad family or-AWwwwwwww!"
Naruto didn't have the chance to finish his sentence for Baby Naru bit his hand hard that it could have bled if he didn't pull it away quickly.
Baby Naru looked at him angrily while pouting.
"Don't talk about Suke like that!"
"You don't even know him to tell me that he is bad!"
Naruto was caressing his injured hand and was looking at Baby Naruto who looked about to cry. He sighed, he was making his other self cry, he patted Baby Naru's head and smiled.
"I'm sorry, it was bad of me to speak like that to your friend."
"but you two just met, how come you think of him like that already?" he was curious why his Baby self would trust someone like that so fast in his Baby form who doesn't remember a thing.
Baby blew air out of his mouth but didn't look at Naruto, he then glanced at him while still looking angry.
"It's because he is nice!"
Naruto wanted to punch his Baby self, just because a person is nice doesn't mean that you should trust him right away, but he was a child in the real world and was still innocent about everything. He continued to listen to his Baby self.
"Anou sa... about my question a while ago, what's your answer?" Baby Naru was now looking at Naruto expectantly.
"Eh?" he smiled wryly and scratched his cheek, "what was your question again?"
Baby Naru pouted but not angry anymore, " I asked if someone gets angry at you, does that mean that he hates you?" he turned his body and was now looking at Naruto while he kneels in his lap.
"Does that mean he hates you when he is angry?"
"Won't he play with you anymore?"
"Will he never talk to me again?"
"Eh?" Naruto was confused while he was looking at Naru.
"Why?" then it hit him, "Oh, did you and Suke have a fight?"
Baby Naru looks away trying not to cry.
Naruto saw it and laughed so hard when he realized that Baby Naru and Suke had a fight, that made Baby Naru looked at him startled and was blushing.
Baby Naru was startled when he heard Naruto laugh so loud, he yanked his jacket to get his attention but Naruto was still laughing his heart out.
Naruto couldn't take it anymore, he grabs Baby Naru out of his lap and put him beside him while he continue to laugh and hug his stomach when it started hurting.
"What's so funny?!" Baby Naruto was angry again and was glaring at Naruto.
Naruto tried to stop laughing to explain, his Baby self was worried that this 'Suke' person will never talk to him again.
"Are you always like this?!" Baby Naru puts his hands on his small waist and pouted that made Naruto laughed again.
"Do you laugh when your friend HATES you!" Baby Naru shouted making Naruto stop his laugh, Baby Naru the turns his body so that he won't see Naruto's face.
Naruto on the other hand felt sadness all over him, he should have done that, laugh when Sasuke hates him, but he had cried instead, how pathetic could that be? He glanced at Baby Naru and sadly smile.
"Naa, Naru-chan, is Suke playing with you and laughing with you?" he asked suddenly.
Baby Naru doesn't look at him but answered.
"Yeah... He tickles me and teases me always, he also laughs!" Baby Naru's voice held happiness when he answered.
Naruto then looks away from Baby Naru's back.
"Wanna hear a story, Naru-chan?"
"Story?"
"Yeah, about two boys."
Baby Naru walked towards Naruto and climbed on his lap and sat there again and looks at Naruto who was looking afar.
"Are they friends?" he asked.
"Yeah, so wanna hear?" he looks at Baby Naru.
"Yeah!"
"In a small village, there was a boy named Dobe, he was cheerful, loud-mouth and always behind in his class, and then there was a boy named Teme who was the complete opposite of Dobe."
"They first met on the academy that they will attend to, at first they didn't speak to each other since they were the exact opposite."
"Then one day, an accident happen that made the two hate each other."
"Everyday, when these boys would meet, they always end up fighting..."
"Eh? Why do they hate and fight each? Aren't they friends just like me and Suke when we first met?" Baby Naru asked.
Naruto laughed but ignored his question and continue with the story.
"They were even put on the same team."
"Really?! Then what happens next?"
"Of course, Dobe didn't like it at all, since he hated Teme." he smiled as he remember the past.
"But on the first mission outside their village, Teme had saved Dobe from being killed."
"They are ninja's just like Shi-sei?!" Baby Naru kept on interrupting so Naruto would just nod his head to answer him.
"After that mission, everything had changed then, Dobe and Teme became friends and would fight but in a friendly way."
"Dobe had helped Teme forget his revenge towards his brother." Naruto saw the questioning look at Baby Naru and smiled.
"You see, Teme wanted to get stronger so that he could kill someone that had done something bad to him in the past."
"Everything was going so well... but then a bad guy had appeared, he told Teme that he could give him power and make him strong."
"Eh? A bad guy? Teme's in danger then? Did Dobe stop him?"
"Dobe did... but Teme had been strong for Dobe to stop, and being weak..." Naruto bow his head, "Dobe couldn't stop Teme."
"Teme had gone with the bad guy..."
"Then Teme became a bad guy also?!" Baby Naru's face looked shock. "But there's a continuation right? Dobe should save Teme from the bad guy right?"
"Naru-chan..." Naruto saw Baby Naru looked at him, "How can Dobe save Teme when he is weak?"
"Train really hard!"
"He has but then Teme was still stronger the first time they met after 3 years."
"Still he should train! He should-"
"I am Dobe, Naru-chan..."
"Eh? Naruto-nii... what-"
"And Teme is my friend who I cannot save..."
"Are you going to give up then?" Baby Naru was shouting now.
"What am I to Sasuke anyway?"
"I am only Naruto..." tears were forming in his eyes.
"But you were still the one who made Teme forget about his revenge once!" Baby Naru defended.
"Naru-chan..." Naruto looks at his Baby self, "Teme doesn't want to go back..."
"Then fight him and tell him to come back!" Baby Naru pouted, "You were friends before right?"
"Yeah, friends..." tears formed in his eyes, "we were friends..." he whispered so that Baby Naru won't hear.
"Naruto-nii.."
Naruto took a deep breathe then after that he closed his eyes...
"Naru-chan..." he glanced at Baby Naru and smiled sadly, "don't worry about Suke, you'll be friend again..."
"Really? I'm glad! " Baby Naru was now smiling, "then you should be friends again with Teme!"
Naruto smiled but didn't give an answer and then he noticed that Baby Naru was slowly disappearing.
"Let's meet again... Naru-chan..." Naruto waves at Baby Naru who was slowly closing his eyes.
Naruto was once again surrounded by darkness, he sighed and looked around even though all he could see was dark. Then a sad smile came on his lips.
"Gomen na... Naru-chan... but I guess, Teme and I aren't friends anymore." he slowly covered his eyes with his right hand.
"Maybe because I am the only one who thinks that we were friends in the first place."
"I don't have the strength to bring Sasuke back." tears were forming back once again.
"He won't even listen to me because I was weak."
"No matter what I do..."
"It seems so useless..."
"Sasuke" he then kneel down as his feet couldn't support his knees that were becoming weak.
"Sasuke"
"Is our bond really broken now?" the tears he was holding then fell, as he silently cry his pain away.
Mirror Hall
The old lady was surprised when she saw the thread starting to fade out. She sighed and walked towards the thread.
"One is slowly giving up." She whispered.
"Is giving up the only solution in this kind of situation?" she asked, "You're stronger than that right?" she glanced at the mirror and watched the sleeping child the mirror was showing.
"You can't give up right now." She said.
Inn
"So this is where my little brother is staying..." Itachi said.
Kabuto was still under a spell when they arrived at Sasuke's room, Kisame was beside him while Itachi was near the door.
Itachi stopped reaching the door knob when he noticed something.
"What's wrong, Itachi-san?"
"It's only a clone standing inside, but..."
Kisame waited for Itachi to continue but was shock when the raven man smiled, which was rare for Itachi.
Then suddenly Itachi raised his hand in front of the door and destroyed it which made the people inside the inn alarmed.
When the smoke disappeared, Itachi enters the room. The clone was already gone since Itachi made sure that the blast would hit the Bunshin to make it disappear, he reached the bed and saw Baby Naru.
"Itachi-san..." Kisame was about to ask why he had to create a commotion when his little brother wasn't even there, and that's when he saw Baby Naru and looked at Itachi with a questioning look.
"Kisame..." Itachi begun to speak, "We have completed our mission." he said and picked Baby Naru.
Restaurant
They were in the middle of the discussion when he felt his Bunshin disappear, he was shock and suddenly stood up making Kakashi and Sakura looked at him with a questioning look.
"Sasuke-kun?" Sakura asked, she was relief that Sasuke had agreed to help them when they had told him what was in for him, they were telling him now how they saw Naruto as a child and all when Sasuke immediately stood up.
"Sasuke..." Kakashi called when Sasuke didn't answer Sakura.
Just right then, Yamato had entered the restaurant with a panicked expression.
"Kakashi-senpai!" he said.
The three looked at him waiting for him to talk.
"The Inn that we are staying is on fire!"
Kakashi and Sakura then stood up but before they could turn to look at Sasuke, he had already vanish from their sight. Sakura cursed while Kakashi said that they should hurry and then they left the restaurant in a quick pace. Only one name in their minds.
