(At Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital)

(Wilson's P.O.V.)

"Wait, what?!" I heard Cameron say in surprise.

I stopped walking toward my office, and walk over to the room that connected to House's Office. Being careful to stay out of view, as I noticed the door was wide open.

"Yeah." I heard Foreman say.

"You saw Wilson and Hailey….." I heard Cameron begin.

"Yep." I heard Foreman say.

"So you believe me now, right?" I heard Cameron say.

"Honestly, I don't know what to believe." I heard Foreman say. "One minute, it looks like Chase is right, and she's with House. Then I see her with Wilson, and it's like you're right….Maybe you're both right yet wrong…..Maybe she's playing them?"

"No, I don't believe that." I heard Cameron say dismissively. "Hailey's not the type to play with someone's heart strings."

"…..You have a point." I heard Foreman say.

"Of course she does." I heard a new voice say.

I instantly recognized the voice as House's.

"Question is, what does she have a point about?" I heard House ask.

Then, there was silence.

"Oh, come on!" I heard House say. "Will you just tell me what you're talking about so I can give my opinion on it as well? Hell, we can even get Wilson's opinion on it."

Does he know I'm out here? I thought, a sudden panic rising in me.

No. Impossible. I'm out of sight and I didn't see him in the hall.

"It's nothing." I heard Cameron say.

I could only imagine the look he was giving her.

"If it's nothing, why do you keep talking about it?" I heard House ask.

"Who said we're talking about the same thing?" I heard Foreman ask.

"You just did." I heard House say.

Ok, time to go in there, I thought.

I walked over to the open door and walked inside.

"Oh good!" House said, as soon as I entered. "You're just in time to give your opinion about whatever it is the children keep talking about yet are keeping a secret from us."

I looked at Cameron and Forman, who were sitting at the table, to see them look at me. Cameron was fighting the smile that wanted to break out on her face.

"You don't want to know." I said, looking back at House.

"Wait, you know?" House asked.

"….Kind of." I said, now becoming uncomfortable, as Foreman and Cameron looked at me in surprise.

"Who's right?" Cameron asked.

"Can you two give us a moment?" I asked.

Suddenly, Cameron smiled a huge smile, as if I just confirmed something.

Then, Cameron and Foreman left the room.

"Ok, they're gone." House said, gaining my attention. "Now, tell me what you know."

"Look House," I began. "This whole thing is getting ridiculous."

"You're telling me." He said. "What's so hard in saying what they've been talking about for the past couple of days?"

"That's not what I meant." I said, as something caught his attention behind me.

"Here." I heard a voice say.

I looked toward the voice and saw Chase coming up beside me. Holding a fancy red envelope toward House.

"It's not my birthday." House said.

"I was told to give this to you." Chase said, unamused.

"By who?" I asked, as House took the envelope and began to open it.

"Dr. Jacobs." Chase said, studying House.

"Why?" I asked.

"Don't know." Chase said.

Suddenly, House laughed.

"Oh, man!" House said. "She's such a kidder! I love this woman!"

I looked at House shocked. My heart sinking.

"Tell her I'll be there." House said to Chase, who was looking at him in shock also.

Chase stood there staring at House for a moment, then he turned around and walked out of the room.

House chuckled a little more as he put the paper back into the envelope.

"House," I began. "….Does your secret have to do with Hailey?"

"What if it does?" House asked. "Would it matter?"

"Are you sleeping with her?!" I asked.

"What? No!" House said disgusted. "HELL no! That's just not right in any way."

"So, Chase is wrong?" I asked, a spark of hope rising in me.

"Is THAT what the minions are talking about?" He asked. "Me and Dr. Jacobs?"

"House, just tell me how you know her." I said.

House studied me for a moment, then he said:

"I don't know her."

Then House began to walk toward his office.

I sighed, frustrated.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

(Hailey's Office)

(Wilson's P.O.V.)

I knocked lightly on Hailey's open office door. Gaining her attention when I did.

"Hey," I said, smiling at her.

"Hey," Hailey said, smiling back at me.

"So, uh," I began, looking behind me.

And when I did, I saw Cameron and Foreman quickly look away.

Seriously, they're FOLLOWING me now? I thought.

I closed the door, and looked back at Hailey, who was waiting patiently for me to speak.

"I was wondering what your plans were tonight?" I asked.

This seemed to have taken her by surprise.

"Oh, um," Hailey began. "I was going to move my things into my new apartment."

That's when I remembered Chase saying House gave her a newspaper with apartments circled. Thanks to him.

"Oh." I said. "You have a new place?"

"Yes." She said.

"Would you like some help moving in?" I asked.

"No, it's ok." Hailey protested.

"I wouldn't mind." I said. "I have nothing to do tonight anyway."

"It really wouldn't be a bother?" She asked hesitatingly.

"Not at all." I said.

Hailey smiled.

"Thank you, Wilson." Hailey said. "That would really help me out."

I smiled back at her.

Then, I remembered House gave me forty dollars.

"Would you like to get dinner too?" I asked. "Before or after we move everything in, that is?"

"Wow, if I didn't know better, I would say you were subtly asking me out." She said.

"…..Maybe I am." I said, my heart beating a bit faster.

It was silent as Hailey and I stared at each other.

I'm not sure what made me so bold so fast, but I didn't regret it.

Yes, I considered her a friend. Yes, I liked her in a friend way.

But more than that…..I wasn't entirely sure.

It was silent for a couple more seconds.

"Meet you at the elevator?" Hailey asked.

I nodded, as happiness began to flow through me.

"Yeah. I'll meet you there." I said.

Then, I turned around, opened the door, and left. Closing the door behind me.

Once the door was closed, I let the big smile that wanted to break out on my face come.

I suddenly felt stares.

I looked where I saw Cameron and Foreman before to see them still there looking at me.

Foreman looked shocked, while Cameron was smiling an excited smile.

I looked away from them, fighting to hide the smile, as I felt a blush coast my cheeks.

Once I got myself together, I walked over to them.

"And, why exactly are you two in this wing?" I asked.

"We could ask you the same thing." Foreman said.

"I was talking to Hailey about a patient." I said. "I do have patients over here."

"Hey, there's no need to be defensive." Cameron said, once again trying to fight her smile.

"I'm not." I dismissed. "And you still haven't told me why you two are here."

"….We-" Foreman began.

"We were walking around." Cameron finished for him. "We do that sometimes. Walk around."

"Uh huh." I said. "It wouldn't be because you were following me."

"What?" Cameron began to protest.

"Don't deny it." I said. "I know you were."

Cameron and Foreman looked away from me.

"Don't do it again." I said.

Then, I walked away from them. My smile returning.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

(Hailey's apartment)

(Hailey's P.O.V.)

"Thank you for helping me move in, James." I said.

"Not a problem." Wilson said, giving me a smile.

Everything was in my new apartment. Thanks to Wilson's help.

Now, Wilson and I were sitting on the floor eating Chinese food. Due to the fact there were boxes on my couch and coffee table.

"Also, thank you for dinner." I said, suddenly feeling a little shy.

Wilson smiled more.

"I like your company." I admitted.

"So, you wouldn't be against having dinner, or spending time together on a regular basis?" Wilson asked.

"No." I said. "Would you?"

"No." He said. "I like your company, too."

I smiled, blushing a little.

Wilson and I kept talking until about one in the morning.

After he left to go home, I couldn't stop the smile that came to my face.

(The Next Night)

(Hailey's Apartment)

(Hailey's P.O.V.)

"I love what you've done to the place." Greg said.

"Thank you." I said.

Greg and I were at my place eating at my table in my bigger kitchen.

"I also loved how you had Chase give me a dinner invitation." He said, smirking.

"I thought you would." I said. "You did say to have a bell boy give you a dinner invitation…..Out of the three of them, he seemed like the perfect candidate."

"What would have been priceless is if you made him wear one of those silly red hats." Greg said.

"Maybe next time." I joked.

Greg chuckled.

It was silent for a couple seconds, then Greg said:

"Our plan is working."

I looked at him confused.

"The one where we confuse my team into thinking we're together." He explained.

"That's not our plan." I said. "It's your plan. And, I'm not even doing anything to confirm whatever they're thinking. They haven't even asked me anything about it."

"They haven't asked me anything about it, either." Greg said. "Well…..Except Wilson. But that's to be expected."

"Wait, Wilson talked to you about us?" I asked.

"Yeah." He said. "And I love making him think. It's comical."

"I think we should tell him." I said.

"Do you seriously want the whole hospital to know?" Greg asked.

"I'm not saying the whole hospital, I'm just saying him. Wilson." I said. "Your best friend. He should know."

Greg stared at me.

"Don't you think it's a bit strange that everyone is going to, or is, thinking we're….doing it, when in fact we're just related?" I asked.

Greg stared at me some more, as he thought about what I said.

"…Now, if you only said the second part, without the first part, I would think you were bothered by everyone thinking we were shagging," Greg began.

"Oh god." I muttered. Hoping I didn't get nightmares because of this.

"But since you said both," He continued, as if I hadn't spoken. "I realized you don't care about what the hospital thinks is actually going on between us. You care about what Wilson thinks is going on between us."

I narrowed my eyes at him. Trying to figure out where he was going with this.

"You like Wilson." Greg said in awe.

"….What?" I asked confused.

"You like Wilson." He repeated. "You like him."

"No I don't." I said.

"Yes, you do." Greg said.

I sighed.

"Greg, I don't like Wilson." I said. "He's your best friend. That's why I think he should know."

Honestly, I wasn't sure how I felt about Wilson.

Yes, he was definitely a friend. And I definitely liked him in a friend way.

More than that though, I didn't know.

Greg studied me as if I was a case he couldn't figure out the answer to.

"Are you going to tell him?" I asked, when he didn't speak.

"I'll think about it." Greg said.
