A/N: I thought I updated this story after I updated Save Us From Self Destruction but I guess I was wrong. If you were interested in what happened during their time over in the other dimension, please check out chapter 7 of Save Us From Self Destruction. A few things will be discussed about what happened over in that dimension for those who don't feel like reading that. Oh and there are spoilers for the ones who haven't gotten around to that chapter of Save Us From Self Destruction. Well, enjoy! :D
"That was so awesome!" Carlos said, jumping out of the portal thing and falling onto my couch. Kendall stepped out after him in an almost polar opposite kind of attitude. Dak and Camille seemed to be happy that they weren't in the same situation as the other dimension of themselves. Lucy wouldn't shut up about the thrill of killing things that are supposed to be immortal. Jack, Finn, and Logan were fairly quiet as we stepped through the portal. As for me, I'm just happy nobody died and we didn't rip the fabric of time apart.
"I cannot thank you all enough for your help. In case this is the last time we see each other, I hope you all have a nice and beautiful life." CJ said before he closed the portal as we said our goodbyes.
"Did you guys see me out there? I was ruthless and killing all of them and when that couple got distracted, I was like, 'Get back to killing.' But it was in my head and they were like-"
"Lucy, please." I said and she frowned, sitting down in the chair next to the couch.
Logan seemed a bit shook up and I knew it was because he almost died. He sat there with this distant look in his eyes. Kendall seemed to be the same way but Carlos didn't seem to catch on because he was boxing the air and jumping around. He's always been this hyper so everyone was used to it by now. Dak and Camille looked at me as they sat on the couch next to Logan. I looked over at Kendall and when he looked up at me, I knew he was quiet because of something he saw.
When he broke our eye contact, I immediately wanted to ask him what it was. I heard a gasp and when I looked over, Carlos was holding my lamp in his hand. He looked at me and I didn't have to say anything before he put the lamp back and sat on the floor in front of the couch.
"Kendall, get over here." I told him and he walked over and sat down next to Carlos.
"Okay, that was a once in a lifetime thing. Something unique that will never happen again. If he approaches us with another offer, we're refusing, got it. The good news is we're all safe and having nothing to worry about."
Logan looked up at me when he realized that I was speaking directly to him. I smiled at him and he returned one before I looked at everyone else. Jack and Finn seemed to perk up and smile at me. Lucy wasn't really upset to begin with so my little speech made her smile. Carlos was always happy but when I turned to look at Kendall he still looked upset.
"Kendall." I said, getting his attention.
"What's wrong?"
"Did you see the pain and hurt in his eyes?"
"Who's eyes?"
"Carlos'. The other Carlos'."
"He was used by that dimension's Kendall. That's something that they need to work within themselves. You shouldn't let that hurt you because your Carlos is just as happy as ever." I told him and he turned to see Carlos smiling at him, making him smile himself.
"Yeah, and it was nice to see my mom again, well, a different version but still. Sorry about breaking down and stuff." Kendall said before I moved closer to him, sitting on the coffee table.
"Kendall, you had every right to react the way you did. No need to apologize. We completely understand and I'm sure we all would've reacted the same way." Everyone nodded in agreement before I turned to Logan, who looked a little confused. I remembered that we haven't exactly explained anything to him.
"Logan, before we left, you had just saw me change into a giant wolf."
"And you're taking it oddly well." Lucy added.
"I have always been a fan of the supernatural, I guess."
"So, do you have any questions?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, got any questions?" Finn added.
"I-Uh...I don't know. I want to know so much but I don't know where to start." "Just start anywhere." Dak told him.
"Well, I know that you guys are like the wolves in Twilight but you all don't look like you're a part of a tribe."
"That's only partially true. If you look into our history we are all descendants from tribal members. Becoming a wolf is something that has skipped many generations. It has also torn families apart." I told him.
"How?"
"For many reasons. You can have members that can transform and others who can't. That can lead to resentment and a ton of other things. Then there's imprinting."
"Oh, I know about that. It's when you become soul mates with someone."
"It's more than just soul mates, it's like you can't live without that person but you get the point."
"Wait, in Twilight the only couples I've seen were straight."
"That's another thing within itself. When Kendall imprinted on Carlos, well..." I said, gesturing to Kendall and Carlos.
"When I first imprinted on Carlos, I didn't know what to do. I had recently started phasing and no one knew it was possible for me, or anyone for that matter, to imprint on a boy. Carlos was scared too because we imprinted on each other at the same time, which lead to some pretty bad things happening within our group. It wasn't until James started shifting that me and Carlos felt completely safe." I knew Kendall was going to be the one to say something about me.
"Why-"
"Logan, we can talk about that in private."
"Why don't we talk about it now?" Lucy said, standing up. I glared at her and her eyes widened in shock.
"I think I should have the rest of this conversation with Logan alone." I told them and they all sighed.
"Way to go Lucy." Jack said as he and Finn got up. I held the door open for them as they all filed out, saying their goodbyes. Carlos was the last one to leave and he stopped to look at me.
"Carlos-"
"James, please don-"
"I'm not kicking you guys out of my life. I just want to speak to Logan alone. I will talk to you guys later." Carlos smiled at my words before he wrapped his arms around me, squeezing me. I rubbed his head before he ran off and caught up with the rest of them. I closed the door and turned to see Logan still on the couch. He was looking down at his necklace when he spoke.
"You said that someone could've given me this. Was it you?"
"Yes, when I first imprinted on you." I told him before I reached out for his hand. He smiled and took it, letting me guide him to the bedroom.
"You see, I too, didn't know what to do. I immediately wanted to ask Kendall what to do but he wasn't around. I remembered that when one of us imprints on someone, it's a ritual to give them something. As a group, we came up with the idea of these special necklaces. When you finally put the necklace on, I felt a little better." I pushed him onto the bed and took off his shoes.
"Oh, well that's good…"
"Yeah…" I said before there was a silence as I crawled on top of him.
"Does it hurt when you change?" He asked, rubbing up my arms.
"No, it's more of a feeling like when you get a good stretch. You know what I mean." I said and he started laughing. I leaned down, kissing him and he wrapped his arms around my neck when I pulled away. I lifted him off of the bed with me before I turned and sat down in the same spot.
"This position…" He whispered like he was trying to remember something. I jumped slightly when he gasped. "Why were you so hot while we were having sex? I felt like I was burning."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"No no no, I loved it. I just want to know why. And you were like that after you fought Jett, which means it must deal with your aggression, which means every time you get upset or-" He blushed when I thrusted up. "You, um…"
"Lose your train of thought?" I asked him and he blushed even more while I laid back, looking up at him.
"So is your body heat related to that?"
"I have a natural high body temperature so it just increased because of increased physical activity."
"Oh…Why didn't you need a towel after the shower?"
"Same answer." I told him and he nodded before he started rubbing his hands on my abs.
Logan's POV
I didn't know if I could ask this question but I had to know if we're going to be together forever. It was eventually going to come up and I didn't know if I should wait until later. I sighed and he sat up, wrapping his arms around me.
"What's wrong?"
"How do you know something's wrong?"
"It's part of the whole imprinting thing."
"Oh." I said before there was a silence. He was looking at me, waiting for me to say something but I kept looking down between us. He moved my head up to look at him and I knew he could tell I was nervous now, even without the imprinting thing.
"I don't want to upset you but I want to know."
"About my friends?"
"About your pack."
"Logan, they-"
"James, we're going to be together forever. I really don't think we should wait until later or until something happens." He sighed, moving me off of him before he started pacing.
"James-"
"Me and Kendall have been friends since the beginning of time and things didn't start to change until we got to middle school. Well, it started at the end of middle school." He stopped pacing when I grabbed his hand. He sighed and climbed on the bed, moving pass me to the pillows. I laid down next to him before he continued, staring at the ceiling.
"During the summer, me and Kendall would hang out every day and then we barely saw each other that summer. When school started, he was different and he wouldn't tell me why he wasn't around. I started not to care but he's still my best friend so I was there for him when his father left his family. No one knew why he left but that weekend was the last time we saw him. My father left when I was younger so I knew what he was going through. It made us closer, not having our fathers, and we started hanging out more. He eventually told me why he avoided me. I didn't believe a word he said about him turning into a wolf until he showed me in his basement after having me read all of these stories. It was awesome having a wolf for a best friend but he always talked about being scared because he was an omega. When Carlos moved to town, Kendall changed again but it was different this time. He was more scared than ever. He was always looking at Carlos from a distance. They had imprinted on each other and I had no idea what was going on so, feeling like a good friend, I invited Carlos over. It wasn't bad in theory because Carlos didn't have any friends either so, yeah. The second Kendall stepped into the house both him and Carlos stared at each other. It was so awkward to watch but it didn't last long because Carlos ran out of the house and shifted when he jumped from my front steps. Kendall followed him, changing too and you could imagine my shock at it all. I had no idea Carlos was a wolf and they had some explaining to do when I saw them the next day." I laughed at that and he turned to me, smiling.
"Everything was so great and I was really happy for them but then people started talking when Carlos grabbed Kendall's hand in the hallway. He most likely wasn't thinking about it but the shock on their faces when they were being called names was something I couldn't get out of my mind. Almost every time I saw them after that point, they seemed to be sad and looking like they'd just got finish crying. Kendall told his mother about the bullying and when she asked him if the both of them imprinted on each other, he told her the truth. She accept him and wanted to meet Carlos. I was there for moral support and because he did it while we were hanging out. While Carlos and Kendall hung out, I talked to Kendall's mother about what they should do, considering the situation they were in. I would've talked to my mom about it but she doesn't accept gay people and thinks the whole wolf thing is a myth. Kendall's mom said that they wouldn't be able to live around where we were because bad things would happen if word got out. The problem was, word had already got out and it was spreading fast. Carlos' parents tried to pull Carlos out of school and move away but he told them that he imprinted on Kendall. They-"
"Wait, did everyone in that town know about wolves?"
"Some families did, some didn't. Most of them just believed in the stories and others had family members like us."
"Oh, continue."
"Carlos' parents knew that Carlos was under dangerous circumstances because of being gay and also being a wolf so they wanted to get Kendall and his family out of town. I of course found all of this out because I was at the house." I made a face and he laughed.
"I didn't like being in the house by myself. My mom was always at work and I'm an only child."
"I'm not saying anything." I said, covering my mouth and gesturing for him to continue.
"I was over Kendall's house when Carlos and his parents showed up and told them about wanting to leave town. Kendall's mother insisted that they stayed and there wasn't any danger but she didn't really know about wolves as much as Carlos' parents. They said that most often than not, gay wolves were killed because they endangered the tribe of extinction, which was stupid. While they were having this conversation, people gathered outside. I noticed it when I went to the bathroom, so I alerted everyone else. We all didn't know what to do and there was no way for them to sneak out so Carlos' parents went out on the front porch to see what they wanted. It was scary to see so many angry faces and pitchforks."
"Pitchforks?"
"I don't know why they chose that but whatever. The crowd got louder and Kendall's mother stepped outside too. Me, Kendall, and Carlos looked out the window and the crowd demanded to see us. Oh, Kendall has a little sister but she was over her Aunt's house during all of this. Anyway, the crowd said that if we didn't come out, they were going to come in. We knew we had to go outside, so we walked out and the crowd immediately tried to attack us." James stopped and he sighed as he sat up.
"Kendall and Carlos were holding hands standing next to Kendall's mom while I stood next to Carlos' parents. One of the guys in the front tried to stab Carlos but Kendall's mother jumped in front of him. Kendall's mother was basically my mother so when she got stabbed, I got so upset, the next thing I knew, I was ripping the guy's head off with my teeth." My eyes widened in shock at that and he shook his head looking down.
"That's how I found out that I could shift. Everyone ran from me and I was so shocked and scared. I tried to somehow change back but I didn't know how. In the alternate dimension, Kendall reacted the way he did because his real mother died on her front porch protecting him and his mate." James said, wiping his eyes. I moved to comfort him but he shook his head.
"I'm fine. It's just hard to go through that night again."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"Don't apologize, you needed to know."
"Aren't wolves supposed to be super strong or something?"
"We are. It's just their weapons were laced with wolfsbane."
"What?"
"It's a type of flower that is very dangerous for us."
"Oh…what happened after that?"
"We had a funeral and there were so many people that spoke. Even the mayor was there. He preached about a better future, stuff like that, and how Kendall's mom is a symbol for the change that's going to come." "That's nice." "Yeah. Carlos' parents took Kendall and his sister in after the funeral." "Aww. That's really nice of them." "They're great people." He said, leaning his head back against the headboard. I could see that he was done talking so I decided not to ask any more questions for now.
Sadly, this amazing weekend was coming to an end and I found myself back on babysitting duty. It wasn't so bad because I have missed my brothers and sisters but things seem so odd without James being right there with me.
I invited him but he had to go to work, which reminded me he had a job. He took me home and of course everyone greeted me with smiles while my mom greeted me as she got ready to leave. She and Michael seem to be getting closer and closer, which I am so happy for. It's about time she got her own life back.
After all of us got our things ready for school, we decided to watch a movie in the living room together. The only thing we had to do was actually decide on a movie. As I scrolled through Netflix, everyone threw out suggestions. Kevin suggested we watch any Spiderman, Jasmine suggested we watch Freaky Friday, Caroline suggested we watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Tyler suggested we watch Insidious: Chapter 2, Briana suggested Lilo & Stitch, George suggested Dead Silence, Sarah suggested we watch Mean Girls, and Eric suggested we watch House at the End of the Street. "Okay, we're obviously not going to watch any scary movie for obvious reasons. So…how about this one." I said, stopping at Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Everyone seemed to agree on the movie, even Briana, so I pressed play. I didn't even make it through half of the movie before I fell asleep.
I was woken up by my mom, who told me to go to bed. I deliriously walked upstairs and threw myself in my bed thinking about everything that happened this weekend.
A/N: I pulled some inspiration for James' back story from Teen Wolf, especially the Wolfsbane part and I can't wait to explore more with this story and everything it has to offer. I hope you all liked the chapter and the back story. REVIEW PLEASE! :D
