10 New Plans
Rebekah strode into Jenna's room without knocking, her eyes glued to her phone. She stopped in front of Jenna and held a blue summer dress out to her. "Here, put this on."
"I can dress myself." Rebekah gave Jenna a once over that said it all. Jenna rolled her eyes, but took the clothes with her into the bathroom.
One of the really nice things of being a vampire was that you never had to waste time on ordinary things like getting dressed anymore and Jenna liked that. Within seconds she was dressed, her hair was brushed and she stood in front of the mirror, ready for another day. She was glad there was another day.
After almost dying again, Jenna was relieved to notice her color had returned to her face, all the pain had left her body and so far no one had been killed. Klaus never promised her not to retaliate like she wanted him to, but he also hadn't done anything so far. Elijah was a big help on that front. He laid on the whole guilt trip thing on his younger brother. It seemed to work for now. It was good to have him back.
After Jenna finished putting on a little make-up, she returned to her bedroom where she found Rebekah sitting on her bed, texting. "You've been texting a lot over the past few days. Someone special?"
"Not really," Rebekah avoided answering that question on purpose. She couldn't very well tell Jenna that's she's been secretly texting with the man who had tried to kill her a few days ago.
"Fine, be that way." Jenna stuck her tongue out and went for the door, "I'll leave you to your super secret texts."
Rebekah smiled. She liked Jenna. They had become quite comfortable around each other. Maybe that's what happens when you watch someone almost die.
Her phone buzzed again and Rebekah bit her lip. After she had stabbed Marcel and told him to call her once he had an actual plan, she hadn't really expected him to do so. But he did and she was thinking more and more about what he had to say. Getting back at Klaus for everything he's ever done to her and her family was a very appealing idea, but some little voice in the back of her head still made her hesitate.

Whatever had been on Jenna's mind a second ago, it was immediately wiped away as she entered the living room. The smell of fresh blood invaded her senses and she gulped, "Why is there a dead girl lying on the coffee table?"
Klaus and Elijah were sitting in the living room. Elijah occupied the armchair while Klaus had made himself comfortable on the couch, each with a book in their hands.
"A gift for my dear brother," Klaus answered without looking up from his book.
"This is my brother's way of saying he's sorry. I explained to him that forgiveness can't be bought and I would much rather see a change in his behavior than this," Elijah gestured at the dead girl's body.
Klaus laughed, "Well, I couldn't let her go to waste. Sorry, should I have saved some of her for you?" Jenna didn't answer that, she was too fixated on the dripping blood.
"Are you alright, Jenna?" Elijah asked a little concerned.
"It's the blood…" Jenna stuttered out and Elijah followed her gaze down to the blood dripping from the poor girl's neck.
"The blood...it's dripping on the carpet. That's a really nice carpet." Jenna tumbled over her words and took a deep breath, "Excuse me."
She turned abruptly and left the living room in what she thought could still pass for a brisk walk, but probably looked more like she was trying not to run.
"She has a hard time around blood," Elijah stated and returned to reading.
Klaus shrugged, "She struggles with fresh blood, yes, but she's in control."
"What if she loses control?"
Klaus grinned and looked up at his brother who met his gaze, "Well, let's just hope she doesn't."
Before Elijah could say something to that, Klaus interrupted him pointing at the book Elijah was flipping through. "Is that mother's grimoire?"
"Yes, I have promised Davina to let her try some of the spells in here." He had been going through the book most of the morning, trying to find spells that would allow Davina to practice her magic, but wouldn't give her an unnecessary advantage over him and his siblings.
After Jenna had felt better and everyone had calmed down again, Elijah had explained to all of them what he had learned from his time with Davina. He told them about the harvest and how Marcel had saved Davina from being sacrificed and how that was the reason she was helping him control the other witches. He had also explained about the arrangement he had made with Davina.
"You're really going to give her the book?"
"No, I'll be giving her a couple of spells, not the whole book." To prove his statement Elijah ripped a page out of the grimoire.
"You trust the teenage witch that much?"
"I believe it's better to have her on our side than to have her plot against us. Through the incomplete harvest she gained immense power. It would be foolish to make an enemy out of her." Elijah explained to his brother, "Besides, she did unlink Jenna from Sophie."
"So she says." Klaus wasn't too sure about trusting the witch. Apparently she had agreed to not tell Marcel about her alliance with Elijah as long as he would provide protection. It was actually a smart move, but Klaus was still wary of her. "It's not like we have actual prove."
At their little meeting they had decided that it was for the best to keep the fact that Jenna was no longer linked to Sophie a secret. You never know when something like that might still come in handy.
"I was there when she performed the unlinking spell, I can assure you that it worked."
"It better have," Klaus muttered under his breath and went back to reading his book.

Rebekah was still sitting on Jenna's bed when she answered her phone, "Hello."
"You decided to pick up for once," Marcel's voice reached her ears and she could just tell he was smiling.
"Texting is safer. You never know who might be listening in a house full of vampires."
Marcel laughed, "Have you thought about my offer? I'm sure your brother won't sit still for long. Our time to strike is limited."
"I don't know, it's risky."
"I can understand that you might hesitate, because so far all I've given you are words. Why don't you come by and let me show you what exactly my plan is. How we're going to get rid of Klaus forever." His words were promising, but Rebekah knew better than to fall for that completely. He had been hinting on how this was their chance to start over. Did he mean that separately or together? Klaus had destroyed their first chance at being a couple, maybe this could be their second.
Rebekah sighed and walked over to the window. Outside she could see her brother and Jenna getting into his car and drive off. Her brother who was unable to let other people have anything for themselves. Who threatens and puts everyone's life in danger, because he doesn't know how to share. He is proud and cruel and a monster. Elijah had been at the mercy of a teenage witch with too much power, Jenna almost died and Rebekah was practically waiting for the day she'd be daggered again. The madness had to stop.
"Alright, where do you want me to meet you?"

After a short drive, Klaus had pulled the car over and told Jenna to follow him.
"When you asked me if I wanted to go for a walk, I didn't really think we would wander that far into the forest. How far have we gone now?" Jenna would have also added the question of where they were, but she had a bad feeling she knew already.
Klaus laughed, "Are you scared?"
"No, but I think I know where this path leads and that's what I'm worried about."
"There's no need to be worried," Klaus assured, but Jenna wasn't so sure about that. She tried another approach instead. "You killed...we killed Max and the witch and who knows what happened to Thierry. He got back at us, but look at me, I'm fine. Why not just call it even?"
"Seriously?" Klaus stopped walking and gave Jenna a look, "This is not just about retaliation, I'm still going to get back what should be mine in the first place. Take back what Marcel took from me and my family. We built this city and we're going to have it back. The plan has not changed."
Jenna sighed and looked uneasily up ahead. "And you're going to do this by going to the werewolves?"
Klaus shrugged and resumed walking, "My enemy's enemy is my friend."
"I don't think this applies in this situation."
A little further ahead Klaus turned slightly and looked back at Jenna, "Don't worry, I won't let anyone bite you."
The sharp intake of breath he heard from Jenna made Klaus smile, "Too soon?"
As she passed him Jenna punched Klaus on his shoulder with enough force to make it hurt. Already she could smell the open water, they weren't far away from the wolf territory. Every step made her more agitated, but she was determined not to show it and marched ahead.

Rebekah met Marcel at the location he had given her. As far as she could remember she had never been here. "When you called me and said you wanted to show me something I didn't expect to end up in some kind of cave. Should I be worried?"
Marcel only smiled at her and led her a little further down, "This is where I send the unruly vampires when they need a timeout."
Rebekah was still skeptical and the fact that no one seemed to be here wasn't helping. "I don't see anyone here."
Marcel didn't say anything to that and kept walking a little further. "They're behind the walls?"
"Some are completely behind it, but not all." Marcel motioned for Rebekah to follow him around a corner. When she had caught up to him she breathed in surprised. Before her she could see Thierry walled in, except his hands and his head were still visible. He didn't move or make any indication he had noticed them arriving. Clearly he had been starved.
"So this is what punishment looks like." Rebekah was beginning to understand where Marcel might be going with this. "Ok, let's hear your brilliant plan. You can't really kill Klaus and he's still very angry with you about poisoning Jenna."
"I figured as much. That's why we will use her again to make him really angry. Blind rage tends to make people unable to think logically. We take him by surprise, we beat him down and bring him here, where he can slowly rot for all eternity."
"I like the rotting for eternity part, but not the Jenna part. She will not be harmed."
Marcel held his hands up, "I didn't say that. We only need him to think she's being hurt. We won't actually have to hurt her."
"You mean trick Klaus into thinking you have her?" Rebekah could live with that.
"Exactly. Of course, we really will need her to be out of the way."
Rebekah waved her hands, "That shouldn't be a problem. Her family back home doesn't know where she is and if someone were to tell them that she's here with Klaus, maybe even make it sound like she's in trouble, you can be sure they will come running to get her back."
Marcel thought about that. This was not exactly what he had been thinking about, but Rebekah seemed to be certain that it would work. "And you will be the one to contact them? Maybe I should do that, because Klaus can't find out about your involvement, not until the right time."
Rebekah thought about that. She was sure that Jenna's family would not be thrilled to learn she's here, alive without telling them and hanging around with Originals. They would at least come and see what this is all about.
Still this was about more than Jenna. This was about going up against her brother for the millionth time. However, this time failure wasn't an option. Marcel might think he has enough manpower to take on Klaus, but Rebekah knew only too well what would happen if they failed. "The last time I was daggered was shortly after we left New Orleans and he stole a whole century from me. If it doesn't work then he will kill you right in front of me just to hurt me and then he'll dagger me and leave me for who knows how long in a box. I might never be undaggered again."
Marcel tried to keep Rebekah from talking herself out of it. He needed her to be on board with this, so he grabbed her by the shoulders. "It won't come to that. We can take him, Rebekah. And when he's finally gone then we'll be able to have what we were supposed to have all those years ago. We can be together without Klaus ruining everything."
It was a tempting offer and Marcel seemed confident of his success. "Alright. I'll give you the information about the Gilberts and how you can contact them."
"Perfect." Marcel gave Rebekah a big smile that made her smile right back at him, "I should get back before someone questions my whereabouts."
"Alright, see you soon." Marcel kissed Rebekah on the cheek and let her go. After she was gone Diego emerged from the shadows, "This means a change of plans, I guess."
Marcel turned to him with a big smile on his face. He had Rebekah on his side and that meant he was halfway to victory. "No, everything still happens as we discussed it."
Diego drew his eyebrows together. "But Rebekah said that the vampire girl was not to be harmed, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard you agree to that."
"Well, I lied. I'm done with Klaus trying to sabotage me and the fastest and easiest way to get him to walk right into our trap is to use Jenna as our leverage."
