NEW CHAPPIE AFTER FIFTEEN THOUSAND YEARS!

*shows fifteen year old thousand me barely typing at my computer. When I breathe, dust comes out.*

Just kidding. In actuality, it's been twelve or thirteen days. SOWWY. T^T I should update more often...I just haven't wanted to write...:(

Please forgive me. Without further ado (hopefully), ENJOY! Oh and this chapter will be picking up (sorta) after Jane's last POV, not Sydney's, like I usually would, then resuming back to where we were...I might do that from now on...or not...I don't know..

Disclaimer: Can't I just say refer to previous chapters? Ugh, I don't own PJO or HoO, or Lulu.

IX
Jane
Chiron and I discussed the quest.

It was a relatively calm and collected conversation, but I knew neither of us was calm. It really didn't make much sense. Thanatos, the peaceful god of death, steals a ring that makes him invisible to do evil? Yes, it was definitely a mystery. On top of that, Chiron was curious on why Zeus chose me for the quest, and not more experienced campers. I, obviously, had no answer.

"I don't know, sir."

Chiron frowned slightly, and got a curious look in his eyes. "Very well, Jane. You may wait for Sydney now, Will should be bringing her. I will be in my office until I have word of Rachel's arrival."

I didn't even bother to ask who Rachel was.

I just wanted to see Sydney.

Out of all of the dreams that scarred me, the one about my mother drowned and the one were Sydney was...er, ripped to shreds had to have effected me most. I knew that I couldn't see my mother, because I knew her drowning wasn't just a dream, but Sydney wasn't dead. At least, I assumed and hoped she wasn't.

Otherwise I don't know what I would do.

After all that I'd been through with her, she became like a sister to me. Where I'm older then her, even if it's only a few months, I felt like I should protect her with my life. I was sure of it. If she had died while I was unconscious, I would feel like I failed my duty. Even if I couldn't help it.

I knew it was kind of early, so perhaps Sydney wouldn't be ready to see me yet, so I sighed, and fiddled with a rubber band on my wrist I somehow acquired. I gently fiddled with it, and decided to braid my hair. I rolled up my worn grey leather jacket's sleeve and got the rubber band off, then I began to braid my hair in a fishtail braid. Considering I was rushing and didn't really try that hard, it was kind of loose, but I didn't mind. I put the rubber band on after I finished, and waited.

I began to think about my mother eventually.

The braiding and dream combined reminded me of her. It was a painful memory, something I kept hidden from even Sydney. She had no idea how my mother died. I sighed, thinking about it again.

Why didn't I die? Why?

I never understood how or why I lived. Not even now. I'm literally your average Jane.

Average Janes aren't half god.

I sighed. Sure...

My thoughts were interrupted when I was nearly tackled by a hug. Instantly, I knew who it was. Sydney. She was much stronger, I could tell judging by the way she hugged me, and slightly taller. A smile formed on my face, and I hugged back.

When we pulled away, I frowned and examined her. Her hair was slightly longer, now reaching midway down her chest. Or, I assumed because she gather her platinum blonde hair into a ponytail, brushing her bangs behind her ear. Her icy blue eyes looked more vibrant, and her usually pale skin was tanner. She had a more fit build, not as skinny from malnourishment either, and was around 5'4 or so now. She wore a Camp Half Blood shirt underneath a a dark brown leather chest-plate, white skinny jeans, and orange converse. I was amazed how much she changed, and how much I noticed within a fraction of a second it seemed.

Then I saw the girl.

She was around my height, 5'6, with a fit and slim build. She had straight dirty blonde hair, and ocean blue eyes. She was avoiding my gaze, glancing at everything but me.

I tried to stay calm.

For some odd reason, this girl made me so angry I was sure I'd clench my fists so hard my palms would bleed. I was already in a somewhat hostile mood from the memories of my mother's death, so the anger she caused made me want to scream, cry, fight, and run all at once.

Talk about torn.

I barely remember our conversation. I know I asked for her name, teased her...

Even when I left her alone, and went back to Sydney, I was still confused on why she made me so angry. I told Sydney everything, and the girl, who I learned was Lulu, and another redhead boy listened, asking questions every once in a while.

I frowned when the boy asked, "Did you get a prophecy from Rachel?"

I remembered Chiron mentioning Rachel. "Rachel? And who are you?"

"Rachel is the host of the Oracle of Delphi, and usually she'll give a prophecy about the quest, oh, and I'm Blake, son of Hecate." (I know no A/N during stories but I just needed to say I forgot to add that in last chapter...)

I studied him. Blake. He was very short, about 5'7, with curly red hair in a natural curtain parted style. He had fair skin, and green eyes with a yellowish tint. He seemed thin, but muscular, if that was possible. I eventually asked, "Why?"

"Yeah, Rachel should be arriving anytime. Considering it's January 4th, the schools are still on Winter break, Rachel's in camp, so-"

"What is today again?"

My eyes widened. No..

"January 4th, why?"

I bit my lip. I had turned sixteen over two weeks ago.

"Jane," Sydney said. "You're sixteen."

I nodded in response. "I turned sixteen in a coma where I ended up getting my first quest."

We sat silent until a girl came. She was probably a senior in high school, maybe seventeen or eighteen, with frizzy red hair. She seemed to be artistic, because her jeans were covered in marker doodles. Her shirt was tie dye.

Blake pointed, "That, my friends, is Rachel Elizabeth Dare, the current host for the oracle of Delphi."

Friends?

She smiled when she came over. "Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm sure Blake already told you about me."

Everyone but me nodded. She was too...optimistic. Maybe I should've started drinking gloominess with every meal.

Rachel asked, "So...you're Jane Bishop, the girl who was given a quest in a coma?"

I nodded in response.

"Hm. So, you need a prophecy. It'll come naturally, but I don't know how long it will take. I haven't given a prophecy like this since The Great...never mind."

I frowned at her. "What is everyone hiding? I've been awake for a short period of time and I can tell you guys are hiding something."

Sydney shrugged slightly, Lulu looked just as clueless, but Blake and Rachel glanced at each other with worried expressions. Rachel opened her mouth to say something, probably some lousy excuse, but we were interrupted.

"Jane!" Percy was smiling at me as he led a smiling Annabeth behind him up the hill.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't even the least bit excited to see them. At least they were actual people.

Everyone but me smiled. I wasn't going to show that I was excited at all.

Percy noticed the others soon afterwards. "And Sydney, Blake, Lulu, and...Rachel."

His smile disappeared when he said 'Rachel'. He glanced at Annabeth, then looked at Rachel. "Is there a prophecy..?"

She nodded and told him about the quest given to me. As Percy and Annabeth listened, their previously happy demeanor disappeared. Now they seemed concerned and worried.

I furrowed my eyebrows, frowning again. They seemed to be hiding something along with the others. I glanced at Sydney and noticed she was frowning too. Lulu seemed as perplexed as us, although I assumed that by the glance. If I tried to look at her directly, I could barely resist the urge to choke her.

Calm down, Jane.

As soon as Rachel concluded, Percy looked out at all of the campers walking aimlessly around, sparring, training, or just talking. We all sat in silence, until we heard another voice speak.

"Ah, Rachel."

I knew the 'word' he mentioned had gotten to Chiron as soon as he spoke. I wondered now exactly why he wanted to hear the prophecy.

Chiron was in his centaur form, coming down from The Big House porch to us. His tail wagged slightly, and he was smiling slightly.

Rachel was about to respond, but something stopped her. What it was, I was unsure. Blake immediately went to her side, as if he was preparing to catch her, why, I didn't know either. Sydney cocked her head slightly, furrowing her eyebrows. Lulu looked as equally confused as Sydney and I. Chiron came down much faster, in a trot, and stopped by Rachel, whispering, "The first prophecy in a while..."

Campers near all stopped, shouting at their friends to come over. I assumed no one knew about the quest, and this would reveal it. Rachel closed her eyes, and when she opened them, they were completely green. Green mist flowed out of her mouth, and she began to speak. Her voice sounded tripled when she said,

"The-"

She stopped suddenly and began to speak again. Her eyes were still completely green, the mist flowing out, but her voice was not longer tripled. "I don't...can't...Thanatos...possessed...stolen ring..." She put her hands to her head, as if she had a terrible migraine, closing her eyes. "Four...demigods...daughter of the sea god...dead.."

She fell backwards, but Blake caught her and some campers took her inside the Big House. Everyone was silent, looking at Lulu, who looked shocked.

"I'm...going to die?"

When Lulu said that, it felt wrong.

I knew now.

The answer.

Why I lived.

I turned away and walked some feet away. Impossible.

I glanced back at the group, who where all now looking at me.

"Et non peries," I said, the words coming off of my tongue naturally. "Vos have a casu."

Sydney frowned and spoke up, walking towards me. "That's not Greek Ja-" Her eyes averted to above my head.

A trident.

I knew the answer.

"You're right," I announced not just to her, but to everyone. "That was not Greek. That was Latin."

Percy looked dumbfounded as a boy with blonde hair, and electric blue eyes came to the front of the crowd. He uttered a single word, that everyone knew meant trouble,

"Neptune."

THREE GUESSES ON WHO THAT IS!
