Akatsuki Adventures

Chapter Eight: The Great Akatsuki Adventure

When a person is to hold a grudge over someone else, there is usually a build-up of hatred that happens towards that someone else- until eventually the person holding the grudge releases their rage.

Today, of all days, was the day where Tobi found out what that rage could do… But of course, we've skipped ahead, to find out what happened we need to go back.

A day earlier…

Tobi was super excited to have Zetsu coming to stay with Akatsuki now, and so he rushed out of his bed and ran to where Zetsu was staying.

Upon reaching Zetsu's cave, he rang the bell in a particular way and waited for his friend to appear.

Eventually, Zetsu peeked out from his cave and saw Tobi, "Tobi!" white Zetsu exclaimed.

"Oh it's you…" his other half sighed.

Tobi ignored him, "It's good to see you Zetsu! Now we can go on adventures together!"

White Zetsu was of course, ecstatic to hear this, Sasori wasn't really the kind of Akatsuki you could take on an adventure. Black Zetsu however, was not so pleased, and couldn't think of anything worse than trailing after Tobi all afternoon.

Either way, the two headed out on the start of a great adventure. As they were leaving Akatsuki camp, Tobi noticed Deidara working hard on the lair's entrance again. He waved to Deidara, but Deidara ignored him and scowled.

Later, Deidara would 'fail' to mention to Pain that Tobi waved goodbye.

And so the adventure begun and Tobi and Zetsu travelled the east road in search of an adventure. "So what type of adventure are we looking for Tobi?" White Zetsu asked happily, his other half had chosen to remain completely silent throughout this adventure, which was fine by Tobi.

"Well, I was thinking we could go and find an action adventure" Tobi punched the air, "Or maybe! A horror!" he then mimicked a mummy.

"Humph!" Black Zetsu grumbled loudly,

Tobi found this difficult to ignore, "Is there a problem Black Zetsu? I dunno it's just that you sighed rather loudly just then and I got the impression you wanted to say something?"

"As a matter of fact I did"

"Don't ruin our adventure!" White Zetsu cried,

"Don't be stupid! I'm merely suggesting an adventure to you" Black Zetsu said rather sinisterly.

"Oh?" Tobi and White Zetsu then said in unison.

"Mhm that's right, I've happened to hear from people that here, down this east road, lies a buried treasure"

Tobi hadn't expected to have a pirate adventure, and so found this rather appealing. White Zetsu wondered what kind of treasure his other half meant, and so both of them happily let Black Zetsu lead the way.

After some time, Black Zetsu deviated from the road and they found themselves wandering in some jungle like area. The trees were luscious and green and Tobi could smell the vegetation here, a fresh and clean smell.

Zetsu seemed to love it here, what with so many plants, and the three of them ended up talking amiably with each other. Black Zetsu was even nice towards Tobi for a change, and Tobi grew less afraid of him.

They had been walking for hours when suddenly they reached a very steep cliff. Zetsu threw out his hand to stop Tobi from walking off of it, "Look a temple!"

It was true, hidden in the valley, amongst humongous leaves, was a stone temple. Tobi gasped in delight and begun to carefully climb down the mountainside, Zetsu sunk into the ground and re-appeared at the valley's base.

Both Akatsuki inspected the temple's entrance. "It's a pirate-action adventure!" Tobi squealed and clapped his hands, "Oh boy I wonder what treasure's inside!"

However it was getting kind of late, and white Zetsu wasn't sure about going in there at night, "Guys… maybe we should camp somewhere for the night… and let the others know we're OK…"

"Shut up"

"Yeah" Tobi piped in, "We're only going to go in, get the treasure, and come back out again. Stop being a baby Zetsu…"

White Zetsu didn't like how good a friend Tobi had made of Black Zetsu, when before they had been mortal enemies. He also didn't like that they were ganging up on him, but still he followed them into the temple… (Then again he didn't really have any choice seeing as he was attached to Black Zetsu)…

At night it was dark in the temple, and so Tobi switched on a budget flashlight he had taken from Kakuzu. The light it cast barely illuminated anything, but it was enough to see some of the hidden traps on the floor. "Aha!" Tobi exclaimed, pointing at a switch on the floor, "That's obviously a trap"

He nodded knowledgeably to Zetsu, who shrugged. Carefully, Tobi then stepped over it, lifting his leg as high as he could and as far as he could, so that he would miss the switch entirely.

However, upon placing his foot down there was a soft click, and Tobi heard something creak. "Oh boy"

Suddenly an arrow shot from the wall and Tobi screamed and dodged it matrix style, Zetsu fearfully sunk into the ground and Tobi kept dancing to dodge a torrent of arrows. Eventually they stopped and Tobi crouched there breathing for dear life, "Oh God!"

"Don't worry" Zetsu appeared out of the ground, "The treasure isn't far ahead"

"You went ahead without me!?" Tobi said, upset.

"Um yeah? We're after the treasure remember?"

"No Zetsu! The whole idea of an adventure is that you go together! It's not about the treasure at the end!"

"Well it is for me… So imma just go ahead and grab that treasure now"

Tobi stood abruptly, "Well count me out! I don't want to go on an adventure with someone selfish like you!"

"Alright then" Zetsu shrugged and Tobi stared, he had hoped the Black Zetsu would feel guilty and stay with him.

Tobi blinked and then with tearful eyes, turned and left the temple's entrance.

Why do my adventures always turn out like this, he thought miserably, pushing his way through the jungle leaves in a random direction. Behind him Zetsu was yelling for him to come back. "Tobi! He didn't mean it I swear! Just come back" White Zetsu called,

"No! I refuse to adventure with the likes of you!"

"Ugh!" Black Zetsu quickly became frustrated, "I HATE YOU!"

Tobi sobbed and ran faster, so that he lost them in the trees, upon escaping the jungle he came across and expanse of field.

There was then a growl and Tobi turned fearfully. From the darkness of the jungle, he could see a group of glowing yellow eyes. "Arghhh!" he screamed, then turned and ran as fast as he could, behind him he could hear the monsters following in pursuit.

"Leave Tobi alone! Tobi is a good boy!" he cried and began to run fearfully up a hill. T

hat was when he realised that he had Pain's phone number.

Fumbling with the device, and running at the same time, he dialled Pain's number. "Tobi?"

"OhmygodLeader-kun! I am in some serious trouble" he cried fearfully sliding down the other side of the hill, behind him he heard a cruel and hungry howl.

"Slow down" his Leader snapped, "First of all, where are you?"

"No time to explain!" Tobi reached the other side of the hill and begun to pummel his way across the plain, grass whipping at his ankles, "Just remember one thing… It was NOT my fault or idea! OK?" and then suddenly warm breath came to the back of his neck and he hung up the phone.

With a scream he leapt away from the monster behind him, the phone flying from his hand, and he landed in a small hole in the ground. Deeper, he shuffled inside and cowered whilst the monsters howled and paced the hole above, unable to fit down.

"Oh thank god I'm alive!" Tobi told himself and laughed nervously, "Looks like there's a bit of horror in this adventure too" he then said proudly. With fear he crouched there, wondering what Deidara senpai would've done in a situation like this. He hoped that Deidara would remember him waving, and that he'd remember which way he'd seen Tobi and Zetsu walking.

And so Tobi waited all night, for someone to come and rescue him…
