As the others were getting ready to go to the pool, Bella decided to head down to the cafeteria to grab some dinner. She had decided not to bother the others. They did not need to eat so there was no point in them coming down with her. She had changed into blue jeans and a black tank top over her bathing suit. Her dark hair was down around her shoulders. In Bella's hand was one of the large refillable mugs the family had gotten.
The sun was starting to go down. The air was a bit cooler. Their rooms were on on the second floor of the hotel and once you left the hotel room you were outside. Bella trotted down the stairs to the main floor and then steeped around the huge Pongo statue. It was so nice out. Belle took her to time walking. She smiled at the little bones on the pavement and decorations. The air carried the scent of chlorine and the sound of water and laughter. Bella came around the main pool and headed for the main building.
The cafeteria was not too busy. She headed for the burger portion and got herself a burger and fries platter. Bella only hoped that and would not slipped on the highly polished floor. Bella knew that this was a value resort. However, she liked the way it looked. The room was large with big windows and dozens of lights. It only took a few minutes to head through the line and fill her cup before she dropped into a chair. Bella was half way through her food when there was movement outside the window near the table. She looked up to see Emmett at the glass giving an insanely strange face to make her laugh. Even with the look on his face, he looked sexy in his swim suit. It showed off the large amount of muscle the man was blessed with. Emmett smile when Bella laughed and then he blew her a kiss making her blush.
"He's cute huh?" A voice said and Bella turned around to find another teenaged girl sitting down at the table across from her. Belle blinked surprised. Looking back at the window, Emmett was gone. Bella still did not speak. She bad no idea how to reply to that. Yes, of course Emmett was cute but she did not like this girl saying so. Bella was not shy but she had never been one of speak up for herself. She was more of a wall flower.
"I wonder which room he's in." The girl continued clearly oblivious to the fact that Emmett had been looking only at Bella when he had been at the window. "My room." Bella said now. His voice was flat. "Emmett's here with me." The girl across from her sneered. "Yeah right." The other spat. "Why would he be here with you?" She asked. "He was not showing signs of being with anyone with the fun we had at Disney Quest." Bella tried not to show her insecurity at the comment. Suddenly she was not so hungry anymore. She stood with her things and without looking at the girl again, Bella hurried to throw the food away and left the hotel. She was supposed to meet the others at the smaller of the two pools, the Mighty Ducks pool, but Bella hurried back to the hotel room instead.
She kept her head down the whole way there. Bella was determined not to cry. Part of her brain said that the girl was lying or that she was deliberately making more out of something that might have happened. Maybe Bella was over reacting. Maybe nothing really had happened. Emmet had been with Bella at Disney Quest. But then again, he had not spent the whole time with her. Yet, would Emmett actually cheat on her? In reality, they had only been together for a few months. And the night before they had left to come here, he had been acting strangely. Bella was torn. She swiped the card into their room and entered.
The room was nice for a value resort. There was one large king sized bed like all the Cullen's had. A round table with two chairs was against the wall to the left and then along the same wall, a long dresser with a flag screen television on top. There was a light over the table and then star shaped lights on either side of the bed. At the end of the room was a vanity area separated from the rest of the room with a curtain and a separate bathroom off of there. In the corner, were their suitcases and numerous shopping bags of souvenirs.
The tears started to come now as Bella dropped onto the bed. She was torn. Bella did not know what to believe. She wanted to trust Emmett of course but she had not been with him the whole time. So if the girl was telling the truth, what had happened? She angrily wiped at her tears. She couldn't just sit here all night crying. She could ask Emmett what had happened of course but if there was nothing, he would be angry. With no idea of how much trouble this girl would cause, Bella decided to say nothing. She did not want to bring the whole drink situation up again and she was sure that was where it would lead.
Bella stripped her extra clothing off until she wore just a light blue one piece. She washed the tear stains quickly away from her face and then grabbed a towel and headed down to the pool. She could see the Cullen's instantly. This pool was not as busy as the other one so there was almost no one other than them here. Bella dropped her towel over one of the lounge chairs next to where Rosalie lay and then walked to the edge of the square pool. She glanced at Emmett for a moment and then slipped into the water. Bella braced the chilled water for a moment and then slipped under the surface and began to swim.
She was trying to relax and forget about the situation. Bella tried to just focus on the cooling water and the fact that she was on vacation. When she came up for air, Bella stood and wiped weather from her eyes. She had come up beside Alice. The small vampire was watching the lifeguard who was walking backwards slowly around the pool looking over the water and talking to himself. Alice's brow was furrowed slightly. "What ... is ... he ... doing?" Alice asked and Bella shrugged. "Humans have always been weird, Bella.". Alice continued and then she laughed. Bella was about to say more when her eyes fell on the new comer to the pool. The girl from Disney Quest and from the cafeteria.
No one else had noticed the girl yet. Bella had no way of knowing that the girl had been looking for Emmett. The girl glanced at Rosalie and then walked by her eyes on the prize. Bella had no idea how this girl effected her emotions until Jasper appeared at her side. "Whats wrong, Bella?" Jasper asked softly. That was when Edward joined them having seen Alice's vision. Bella had not noticed the look on Alice's face as the vision played out in the vampires mind. Alice remained silent. She did not think her vision would be best to make vocal right now. Edward however spoke. "The girl is after Emmett. She somehow thinks he likes her. "You don't think that's true do you, Bella?" Jasper asked now. Bella blushed and shrugged. She softly told them what had been said in the cafeteria. All eyes were on Bella right now so no one noticed the girl move around the pool and sit on the edge behind where Emmett was talking with Esme.
"Emmett." She said softly. At his name, Emmett turned around slowly. His face showed confusion as he looked up at her. He did not even recognize her from earlier that day. Esme looked to her family then at the human. "Oh, hey." Emmett said after a few moment's when it had come back to him. Emmett had no idea what was going on. He didn't know this girl's name let alone the fact that she was staying at this hotel.
"Did you want to go for a walk with me?" She asked now. "Maybe get something to eat?". She could not know that one question could easily take care of the second. Emmett looked to Esme then to Bella to find that everyone was watching him. "Um...". Emmett began not sure how to let her down lightly. "I'm with my family here and my girlfriend..." She was quick to reply with "I don't see a girlfriend." Her voice had become cold.
Rosalie had stepped up behind the girl and now pointed to Bella over the girls shoulder and with venom in her voice that would make Bella thank her later, said "Look over there." The girl glanced over. "Now you see her."Rosalie finished. "I don't see much.". The girl retorted. "No?'" Rosalie continued. "I see a porky, little delusional girl who is going to have a world of hurt if she does not walk away from here right now." The girl glanced up at Rosalie slowly and fear peaked into her eyes. "Fine." She said standing. "But I don't give up easily." She warned and then walked away.
Later that night as everyone were in their rooms, Bella lay in the bed with her back to Emmett. Nothing else had been said about the girl all night but Bella was still upset about it. Emmett lay on his side faceing his girlfriend. He wanted to hold her but did not know if that would have been a good idea. It was dark in the room and the only sound that could be heard was Bella's breathing. They had been laying like this fort half an hour and she had not spoken to him except for a few grunts since the girl had left the pool. Bella had gotten out of the pool soon after and moved to sit beside Rosalie. The fun had been ruined so the family had decided to retire for the night.
"Bella." He said his voice pleading. "I didn't do anything... I don't even know her" Bella said nothing but she was listening. He was making her feel bad. "What happened at Disney Quest?" She asked him now. "Disney Quest?" Emmett repeated confused. Nothing had happened except for the ride. "Oh..." He moaned remembering. Bella turned to look at him angerly. "Nothing happened Bella..." Emmett said now. "I was not allowed to do a game by myself so the guy who worked there paired me with her." Bella waited for more. "I kinda got a little carried away when we won... I guess I gave her this one armed hug thing..." Seeing Bella face he hurried to continue. "It meant nothing... I was just happy. I didn't realize it would end up like this..." Bella knew he was being honest. He was so earnest. She sighed and then rolled back over to put her back to him. "Alright." She said softly now. Emmett slid closes to her and taking the risk, spooned against Bella and wrapped a strong arm around her. With the hand of that arm now under her head as a pillow, Bella fell asleep. Not needing to sleep however, Emmett lay there thinking. This girl was causing too much trouble. He was going to have to make it stop.
