Church should get his own series, like how Magnus got The Bane Chronicles. Or better yet, I want TID entirely from Church's point of view. Wouldn't that be a fascinating read? Anyways, enjoy the following color-themed drabbles all about everyone's favorite immortal feline.

Disclaimer: Cassandra Clare owns TID.

Red:
His master looked horrified as Church slipped into the room as he did every night. But this was no ordinary night. There was no midnight music. Church could see his master in pain as the former muffled violent coughs with a sweaty hand. Droplets of crimson lay scattered across the white sheets. The message in those silver eyes was clear - stay away - but the feline didn't care. He jumped onto the bed's messy sheets, ignoring his master's pleading gaze. Settling himself comfortably in the crook of Jem's arm, Church kept his master company through the night.

Orange:
Usually, it was his master who fed him, but on occasion the task was done by the human with hair the color of the countryside's sunsets. Like his master, she seemed to like music, although her songs did not have the same beauty of his master's violin. The sorrowful notes of a melody would greet him before she placed his bowl in front of him. She would not pet him, as per a blue-eyed human's warnings Church suspected, but she did offer him a smile, even as she hummed a mournful song. Perhaps he would purr for her, if and only if, she would give him larger portions of fish, like his master did. There was no such thing as too much fish.

Yellow:
Church only let the warlock stroke his fur because of his eyes; they had the same eyes, the same golden tone. It wasn't just because the extravagantly dressed creature talked to him like an equal or that he smiled unflinchingly when hissed at. No, it was because they had something in common - they were comfortable with being different and all its consequences. The world was merciless toward them, but they would endure it with ease in their own ways.

Green:
The grass of his dreams was soft and lush under his paws, but sadly those dreams were not his reality. The grass in the courtyard of his master's home had the texture of trampled-on hay from the stables. How disappointing. At least he could still scratch up books lying on the blue-eyed human's bedroom floor. That always made him feel better.

Blue:
It was aggravating to learn that his master's blue-eyed companion did not enjoy his company in the slightest. And for that, the blue-eyed human was to be severely punished.

Purple:
The wine-colored cushion in the grey-eyed human's room was very inviting after a long day of wandering the corridors. The gray-eyed human even knew that she could only pet him after he was settled himself in the cushion and not a moment sooner. And how quickly she learned that he liked to be scratched behind his left ear; Church was impressed. If she exhibited this kind of treatment toward him forever, Church wished his master would do that human ceremony of union with her. Two humans properly caring for him sounded heavenly.

Head canons: Church is the ultimate Jessa shipper. He has an unspoken agreement with Gabriel Lightwood to torment Will as much as possible.
