"Haku..." Rin looked at him because he had not said anything for about five minutes. He had just stared at this cat spirit, named Hunter.
Haku finally cleared his throat and looked the Chihiro. He sighed deeply. "What would this do to her? You promise that she won't be in any pain, correct? When your mother, if she agrees to do this at all, give's her her spirit to Chihiro, what will happen and be specific.
Hunter just rubbed his eyes and looks at Haku. "What we would have to do we need to bring my mother here. She resides in the human world. Also, don't worry. Chihiro won't be in any pain when its done right. We can go through both worlds. We don't know how we have this power but we do so it's not that big of a deal for us but I will need you to come with me, Haku. It does take a lot of energy for me to do this which is why I come here. Also, this human, you can smell her for miles which is another reason I came here. She caught my curiousity. I got even more curious when her scent changed.
Haku looked at him. "What do you mean, changed?"
"She smells just like you. Her scent and yours are intertwined now. It's the same for you."
Haku just stared at him.
"That's not important right now. As I was saying, we need to get my mother. I will need you to go with me because my mother... Well, she is pretty stubborn. She'll need some convincing to come here. She hasn't come to the spirit world in almost fifteen years. After we get her here, we must start as soon as possible. Time is of the essence as you know. WHen they are both here, I will need a few drops of Chihiro's blood and my mother will need to drink it. When my mother accepts Chihiro to let her be one with her, the hard part begins. Chihiro will have to fight to want to live and if she is as strong as you believe she is, she will win and become a half spirit. That sounds very strange but she will be alive and that's all that matters to you right? Half a cat spirit and half human. Her appearance shouldn't change that much, then. Her appetite might change though. She will be stronger, faster, and all of her senses will be increasingly sharper.
"Yeah, that's only if things go the way we want. How do you know for sure your mother will want to come here or help at all?" asks Haku.
"I know she will. Mother... She is a kind spirit and ever since Father died, she hasn't been the same. She wouldn't want someone to go through the same thing we did with my sister. My mother hates to see people suffer." Hunter stays quiet after that is said and nobody says anything until Chihiro makes a noise. Haku hurries to her side. She was sweating, the sheets were drenched and she had a high fever. She didn't respond to him, no matter how many times he called out to her. Haku clenched his fists and tried to compose himself. He knew he had no choice. He couldn't lose her again. Not like this. He kisses her cheek and walks up to Hunter.
"Be ready in an hour. That will give me enough time to let everyone know I will be leaving." Haku turns and leaves with RIn followeing him. Him and Rin go down to the bowler room where Kamaji works and Rin fills Kamaji in with what's happening to Chihiro while Haku quietly waits for her to be finished and after she is done, Haku tells them what he wants to be done. "I want both of you in charge while i'm gone. I know you guys will keep things moving right and I trust you both greatly to care of Chihiro while i'm gone. Make sure no one gets in that room and if they do, make sure they'll regret it. She's my main priority right now. Please don't fail me."
"Are you sure you want us to do this, Haku?" Rin asks but before he can respond Kamaji cuts in, "He knows what he's doing, Rin. He knows we all care about her a lot and none of us are willing to lose her because I know I don't." Kamaji crosses his arms.
Haku bows to them both and straightens. "Thank you both for understanding. Now, it's time to round everyone up and tell them."
*An hour later*
Hunter is outside the bath house waiting and looks up at the clear blue sky. He had always wanted to fly. He loved the feeling of the wind on his face and on his fur, feeling the warmth of the sun on his skin. He was too busy day dreaming that he didn't notice Haku walking up to him.
Haku noticed that he seemed to be thinking and didn't notice he was there so it gave him to... look up this strange cat spirit. He was tall but not as tall as Haku. Maybe an inch or 2 shorter. He was muscular and he wore strange clothes. A white t-shirt and black pants. White shoes and he had sunglasses in his hands. Haku clears his throat and Hunter noticibly jumps. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you."
"No, no. It's fine. I was just day dreaming. Oh, here, you're gonna need this when we get to the human world. We can't have you wearing weird clothes now, do we?" He chuckles and hands Haku and black shirt and jeans and in his other hand he grabbed black sneakers and gave it to him. "We don't want you to stick out now."
Haku feels the material and thanks him. He puts the clothes in his bag and they head off. They see the building across the field and as they start to go down, Haku notices he is already feeling tired. He tried to stay in pace with Hunter but he's slowly falling behind. He tries to open his mouth to call out to him but it seemed so difficult. Half way there, Hunter looks behind him and notices Haku struggling. "Damn, I forgot. I'm sorry Haku." He grabs his shoulder and half drags Haku to the tunnel. He lets him rest for a minute and he pulls his arm around his neck and lifts up Haku. "Come on, now. We're almost there. Don't quit on me."
Haku saw Hunter's mouth moving but he didn't hear what he was saying. He felt his knees slam into the floor as all his weight was too much for Hunter. His vision was blurry and he could barely see the opening to the end of the tunnel and he didn't feel his body hit the pavement as everything went black.
