Hi again everyone! I'm sorry about this being later than usual, I've had a horrible case of writer's block over the weekend! It was so frustrating, sitting in front of a blank white page and literally not being able to write anything like I normally do. So, this chapter might seem a tiny bit forced.. (Is that a thing? I had my friend read my story and he said it seemed forced...) but I did really try to make it interesting. I hope you enjoy and all that!
(Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor who. I only own my OC, Phoenix)
Phoenix groaned, feeling a sharp pain shooting up her spine, and she groggily opened her eyes, blinking a couple of times to clear her vision.
She was lying on the silver floor of the Tardis corridors, debris all around her and sparks shooting off from broken cables and electrical devices. There were red flashing lights all over the place, giving the area a very red glow, and some parts of the wall and floor were dented in. The place was basically in ruins.
Phoenix slowly stood up, desperately trying to ignore the searing pain shoot up her abdomen. She leaned against the wall for support, grimacing as she did. The wall was hot, and it was burning her hand a bit.
She slowly staggered her way through the hall, trying to find an exit or another path somewhere. She would have to check through every door and every corridor. She sighed. That wouldn't be an easy task. It would take forever, and the Tardis was blowing up for God's sake!
Phoenix checked through a door on her left. Basketball court. Why did the Doctor have a basketball court anyways? Phoenix was pretty sure he didn't do basketball. It didn't seem like his thing… Phoenix shrugged. She has been known to have been wrong before.
Phoenix walked a bit more, then checked through a door on her right. Golf court? Golf, inside the Tardis. Again, not his thing. Eleven was just… way too hyperactive to play that kind of thing. So why did he have it at all? Phoenix shook her head, not being able to make sense of it.
She began walking through the corridor again, stepping over bits of broken metal and dodging the smoke stuff coming out of broken pipes. She had pretty much assumed that it was bad, and she shouldn't breathe it in.
It was surprising how easy it was to find rooms, considering the Tardis was broken. Phoenix, so far, had stumbled across the sick bay, two of the squash courts, the zoo, three of the bathrooms, a garage, and the sun room. Why the Doctor had a garage what beyond Phoenix's comprehension, considering he didn't even have a car. Well, she did see his motorbike in there, which she did swear she was going to drive someday. It was something she had always wanted to do.
Phoenix stumbled over a piece of metal, falling to the ground and barely missing a piece of sharp pipe that would have impaled her and killed her instantly. She seriously needed to get to somewhere safe before she got herself hurt more permanently.
She slowly stood up, wincing slightly as a headache appeared from hitting her head on the hard metal floors. Why couldn't they just be carpet or something? Much more practical.
Phoenix pushed open a rough wooden door that didn't have a doorknob on it. What was behind this door? She stepped inside, to see the room similar to where Clara went to in the episode. Also known as the companion room.
It was bound to be different, considering she was there however. Phoenix smirked slightly, deciding to look around a bit. How could she not? A whole room full of spoilers waiting….
She shifted through the items, trying to find something interesting. There was a lot of junk, like old T-shirts or posters the companions had in their rooms or whatever.
Phoenix came across a couple of pretty interesting items however. Like Rose's shirt. Phoenix had always wondered how the Doctor had gotten hat originally. Why was it in the console room? Did they do something there, right before Rose left? Phoenix groaned at the thought. Only more to feed the fangirls...
She also came across the old watch from series three, the one that the Doctor's stored his Timelord conscious in, and the one that the Master used to hide himself from the Time War. Phoenix didn't exactly blame him for that. She would have done that too. And the watch looked strangely looked like the one she had sitting in her bedroom at that very moment. But, Phoenix waved it off at nothing. There are millions of watches, there are bound to be ones that look alike. Plus, she was from an alternate universe. It wasn't possible.
Next, she came across a mini figurine of K-9. Phoenix almost fangirled there, absolutely loving K-9. If you considered him a companion, then he was one of Phoenix's favorites. He was just adorable! She was glad K-9 got to stay with Sarah Jane, but it would be cool to see him in the Tardis. Well, she just had to wait for the episode 'School Reunion'.
She saw other things too, like The Doctor's cot, which was absolutely adorable and the gallifreyan drew her in the same way it did during Demon's Run, Donna's big fluffy jacket which Phoenix tried on and confirmed it was actually extremely warm, Rory's centurion costume, and Amy's short skirt that made the Tardis land inside the Tardis that one time. Phoenix was a little suspicious as to why Amy's skirt was there, but she let it pass.
Phoenix eventually left the companion room, remembering that the Tardis was exploding and she really didn't want to get stuck inside there. Well, it could be worse actually. She could get stuck inside the boiler room or the Tardis core. That would be much, much worse.
As Phoenix walked through the Tardis corridors, trying to find her way to the console room, she saw a faint glowing white light from the corner of her eye. She tensed, guessing what it was. She slowly turned toward the light, confirming her guess. There was a crack in the Tardis wall.
Phoenix slowly walked up to it, breathing heavily as she did. The crack was following her. But why? It didn't make sense. The crack had to do with the exploding Tardis and the Doctor, not her. So how come it was following her?
Screams echoed out of the crack, making Phoenix fall backward and cover her ears, shutting her eyes tight too. After the screams died down, Phoenix slowly removed her hands off of her ears and opened one eye.
What she saw made her gasp. Laying on the ground, unconscious, was Amy Pond. THE Amy Pond. Phoenix slowly crawled toward her, then started shaking her to wake her up. Phoenix was extremely confused, and seriously wanted some answers.
Amy groaned, and slowly opened her eyes, before bolting up and immediately looking toward Phoenix. "Phoenix? What…" She said, looking around at the corridor and the mess around them.
Phoenix started pacing back and forth, thinking. "Before you ask, I have no idea. So, you fell through a crack in space and time and ended up here. Luckily. This is the future though, you can't be here. And I can't exactly send you back through the crack. Damn it, you're going to have to come with me. But what if the Doctor sees you? He can't see you! He'd go all wibbly and the Clara would end up really confused, and then the Doctor would probably break, and you don't need the Doctor breaking, it would just create more of a mess than we already have, where is the Doctor anyways, he's probably at the console room at the moment at least that's where he was in the episode…" A slap resounded across the hall, along with a little cry of "Ow!" Amy had slapped Phoenix.
"Stop panicking and explain." Amy commanded to Phoenix, who was still rubbing her cheek from where the Red-head had slapped her.
"Alright alright. You didn't have to slap me though, god. You fell through a crack in space and time. You landed here, in the Doctor's future. You have kind of… left the Tardis by now, and he has a new Companion called Clara Oswald. The Doctor was going to let Clara have a go at the Tardis, but some magna-grab got the Tardis, and it destroyed it pretty badly. I got knocked out somewhere along the way and I woke up about twenty minutes ago. I've been trying to find the console room since then." Phoenix explains, heart beating quickly in her chest. What would happen when the Doctor saw Amy? That was bound to be a catastrophe. Like an explosion waiting to happen.
"Why would we leave the Tardis?" Amy questioned, running her fingers across the wall only to pull them back because the heat radiating off of them.
"I don't remember. My heads a bit spiny today, all the information isn't storing correctly." Phoenix lied, trying to prevent a paradox. Seriously, Amelia finding out she died could cause a paradox on top of the whole exploding Tardis bit right at the moment, so Phoenix really wanted to avoid that!
"Hmm. Well, let's go find the Doctor then." Amy said, walking forward through the hall and taking the lead, like always. It must be a Scottish thing or something. Phoenix sighed. She would never understand the Scottish…
"Found it!" Phoenix heard Amy exclaim from around the corner of the corridor. They had been looking for the console room for hours, no luck, but it seemed to Phoenix that Amy had somehow found it.
She rounded the corner to see Amy standing in the console room, looking around it in wonder. Phoenix had a confused look on her face, before realizing that Amy had never seen the Tardis in that desktop before.
"He changed the Tardis?" Amy questioned, turning to Phoenix. Phoenix nodded and sighed. It was going to be hard work keeping her fate from her.
"After you and Rory left, he changed it to this Tardis. He's liked darker colors since you left. God knows why." Phoenix explained, slightly nervous. She knew her statement sounded kind of cheesy, and she wouldn't be surprised if Amy didn't buy it.
Phoenix was surprised though, when Amy bought her lie. Suppose anything was believable when you were getting over the shock that you 'supposedly' left the Tardis. Amy was probably in quite a lot of shock. But the Doctor would be in more.
A clanging sound echoed through the console room, and Phoenix turned to see a lever had been pulled down, that hadn't been before.
"Did you touch something?" Phoenix questioned Amy, slowly walking up toward the console.
"No…" Amy said, staring at the lever curiously.
A shadow moved across the console room, making both Phoenix and Amy jump at the sight.
"Yes! Oh brilliant Tardis!" Phoenix exclaimed, stroking the console lightly and smiling brightly.
"What? What?" Amy questioned with a confused look on her face.
"Oh god, the Tardis is brilliant. She's duplicated a bunch of console rooms to keep us safe. The Doctor and some other people are in one console room, we're in this one, and Clara's in another. All echoes, flicking back and forth. Technically we're in the same room, but we aren't. Flicking back and forth every half second or so. It's fantastic! We can get into the Doctor's part of the console room…" Phoenix explained, then started flicking millions of levers and pressing millions of buttons to get the Doctor's attention.
"This might be a bit tricky, considering you're here. He doesn't know you're on-board yet, and I really doubt the Tardis has told him. And truthfully, I don't think I want him to." Phoenix said, flicking yet another lever.
"Why not?" Amy questioned, her eyes following Phoenix around the console.
"Because he got really sad after you guys left. And I don't know what he would do if he saw you again. Probably stop functioning. And that would be very bad in this situation. The Tardis core is exploding and if he doesn't do something about it the Tardis explodes, and that basically destroys the universe. So, we don't want him out of focus." Phoenix explained, groaning as the lever pulling didn't seem to work.
"Hey sexy, is it possible to get a comm. in between the two copies?" Phoenix questioned the Tardis, making Amy look at her weirdly.
The Tardis hummed inside Phoenix's head, making her smile. It was possible! The Tardis sent the instructions on how to do it into her mind, making Phoenix's grin wider. She pulled some levers and then pressed a button, opening the chat communication system in between the two copies.
"Doctor? Doctor are you there?" Phoenix said into the comm.
"Phoenix? Where are you?" The Doctor questioned.
"Inside a copy console room. Like everyone else I guess. Have you gotten Clara yet?" Phoenix questioned, glancing over at Amy.
"Here!" Clara called, making Phoenix smirk.
"Yeah, I've kind of also got someone with me…" Phoenix said nervously, scratching the back of her head.
"What do you mean?" The Doctor questioned, confusion in his voice evident.
"You know how there are kind of cracks in time? Yeah, there's one in the Tardis. It's kind of leaking future and past events from recent times. Now, I've got someone who's a little farther than recent. Uh… yeah…" Phoenix said, trailing off at the end. She wasn't exactly sure how she was going to explain it.
"What do you mean?" The Doctor questioned, sounding slightly tense. It must be hard, hearing that your companions are back. Seriously, you left them a long time ago… well not purposefully, but still…
"Amy fell through a crack in time and ended up here." Phoenix said quickly, worried how the Doctor was going to react.
There was silence for a very long time. A very, very, long time. To the point where Phoenix was getting really worried. What is something happened to them?
But then, their surroundings changed, and standing before them was The Doctor, Clara, Tricky, and that other guy Phoenix really didn't bother remembering because he was an asshole.
The Doctor stared at Amy, and Amy stared back. You know, not worried about the health and safety about the other people here. Actually, it was quite understandable.
"Will someone please explain to me what is going on here?" Clara questioned, looking between the Doctor and Amy, confused.
"Finally something I can do." Phoenix said, then she turned to Clara. "The red head over there's name is Amelia Pond, a former companion of the Doctor. She fell through a crack in time and space, which brought her here. The Doctor hasn't seen her in… what, hundreds of years, ya? Anyways, Amy just came from being with the Doctor I assume, but the Tardis and even the Doctor changed, so it's kind of a shock."
"Why did you get rid of the tweed and the bowtie?" Amy asked. Great first question… brilliant. Phoenix sighed quietly.
"Technically it still is a tweed. And he still has on a bowtie." Phoenix said to Amy, rolling her eyes slightly.
"I know…. But it's different." Amy said, studying the Doctor's new outfit. It was hard to tell if she liked it or not.
The Doctor was just in shock. Just plain shock. It really didn't look like he could move at all.
"He basically died, didn't he?" Clara questioned, crossing her arms.
Phoenix nodded absentmindedly, staring at the console. If they didn't do something about the exploding core, than they would all explode and then the universe would be threatened. But only the Doctor knew how!
She groaned and fell to her knees as the Tardis streamed all the information about the controls on the Tardis and the mechanics into Phoenix's head. That was a lot of information, so it gave Phoenix a pretty big headache. "You ok?" Was the first thing she heard, from Clara. She opened her eyes and Clara was standing right in front of her, holding her shoulders.
Phoenix slowly smiled, and jumped up. "Fine. Brilliant actually! Oh god, I love this Tardis. She's magnificent!" Phoenix said, dancing around the console pressing a few buttons here and there. "And…. Detonation off. Actually, there never was a chance of being blown up. It was a lie. Rule one: the Doctor lies. But now the Tardis core is exploding, which is actually an exploding star locked in status, but the status is slowly coming undone, so now it's exploding and if we don't get down there and fix it soon the whole ship explodes, possibly taking the universe with it." Phoenix turned toward Clara, Amy, The Doctor, and the two brothers. "We might want to move now. Through the door over there."
Amy, Clara, and the two brothers quickly nodded, going through the doorway Phoenix had directed them, leaving the Doctor and Phoenix alone in the console room.
Phoenix quickly went up to the Doctor and grabbed hold of his hand, trying to give comfort and strength.
"I know it's hard seeing her. And I know you still aren't over their deaths. But please, be the happy fun-loving Doctor you are. I lied to her. Told her she just left the Tardis. We can't have her knowing about her death, it doesn't work like that. Let her have the time she had left. She needs you. We need you." Phoenix said, pulling the Doctor into a hug.
"I need you." She whispered very quietly to herself, although the Doctor did hear. He slowly wrapped his arms around Phoenix, returning the hug.
When they broke it apart, the Doctor's goofy smile was back on, even though Phoenix knew it was just a mask.
"Well, let's go save the Tardis!" The Doctor exclaimed, grabbing Phoenix's hand and pulling her out of the console room while she laughed.
At least she got the Doctor back. Normally that would be hard. It's the Doctor for god's sake, he's been in some really depressing shit. So, that meant she really was special. Only someone really close to the Doctor could possibly do what she did that fast…?
Reality was catching up to Phoenix fast. And she wasn't sure how she was going to deal with it.
Yay! Plot twist! Do you like Amy joining the adventure? I was going to have someone join the adventure anyways... (Was actually considering Luna Lovegood at some point :P) Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
