Wednesday morning rolled around far too quickly for Edd. He had finished preparing the room for Skylar, but still wasn't sure if he was totally comfortable with him staying with him for any period of time. When Edd left the group home, things with Skylar just ended. Sky didn't have phone at the time, so they just stopped talking. They never actually ended their relationship, or lack there of one. They were doing everything boyfriends would do, but never put a title on it. Eddward sighed, how was this going to play out well in any way...

Edd walked through the halls, not really paying attention to anyone around him. All he could think about was that Skylar was going to be waiting for him in just 3 more hours. Not paying attention, Edd ran right into his big lug of a friend Ed, who was talking with Eddy. "Hey Double D!" Ed patted him on his back, a little too rough.

"Yeah sup' dude, where have you been all day? It's already lunch time, c'mon let's go".

Edd walked with the other boys to the lunch room, still not speaking a word. Eddy stared at the boy trying to figure out what his deal was. Finally, when they were seated, Eddy couldn't take it anymore. "Okay Double D, spill. We know there's something going on with you, and we're going to figure it out at some point anyway, so you might as well tell us what your deal is".

Edd hated to admit it, but Eddy was right. He should just come out and tell them what was going on, but in order to do that, he would have to admit to his best friends, that he was sexually attracted to the same sex, and although the idea of coming out horrified him, he just couldn't keep it to himself anymore.

"Okay, Eddy...Ed. There is something I should tell you," Edd looked at the waiting boys. *sigh* "You see, when I was in foster care, I met this guy Skylar... and we became really good friends and he actually stayed in the room right next to mine". The boys continued to stare, waiting for the reveal of his issues. "And while we were neighbors," he continued, "we sort of...developed...feelings for one another..." Edd looked up from his chicken sandwich to see the shock on his friends' faces. He knew it, they hated him. Edd groaned and rested his head on the table, a little too roughly.

"Okay, so why are you so torn up dude? Did you realize you miss him or something?" Double D looked up at Eddy, his blue eyes gleaming in appreciation. The boy could feels his friends acceptance, even if they didn't quite understand it. A tear strolled down the boys face, crashing onto the table.

"No that's not quite it, I mean I'm not sure if I still have feelings for him or not, but that's not the issue. The issue is my parents don't know about my little rondevu, and they invited Skylar to stay with us for a week while his new group home makes room for him here in Peach Creek. It's a serious dilemma because my parents haven't been home for a week and wont be home for another 2-3 weeks so it will be just us and I have never been more nervous in my life. Plus, I think I like someone else an-"

"Hold up sock head, you have a crush?! On who?!"

Edd really didn't want to mention Kevin. "I cant say Eddy, I'm sorry but it's not my place. I don't know if it will even work and if it doesn't I just want to forget about everything..."

Edd looked at his pal pleadingly. "Alright alright, I'll let you off the hook. And who knows, maybe Skylar showing up will make this person really jealous, or maybe you'll realize you want to be with this other dude, Skylar".

Eddy was right, maybe him coming wasn't such a bad thing. Something great could come out of this. He really wasn't sure of his feelings for Skylar, or how Skylar really felt about him, but it was inevitable at this point. In less than 3 hours, he would be face to face with his old fling, and his new fling would either step up, or step down.

"Why you would want to be with a dude over a bangin hottie with a nice rack just confuses the shit out of me though. I love me some women..." Eddy nearly drooled thinking about it. A nice little blond...size 34D...shit. Eddy felt a slight tug in his pants and decided it wasn't the time or place for those dirty...dirty thought.

Edd let out a small giggle, realizing Eddy must have someone in mind. "On the contrary Eddy, I still find women very beautiful. I even quite enjoyed intercourse with a woman, I just don't find any attractive at this time".

Eddy snorted at his friends reply. "Okay well that just seems too complicated for me. You do you sock head".

...

'RING'

Edd gathered his belongings from his desk and walked out into the hallway to find Kevin already leaning against his locker, causing people to shoot weird looks at Edd. "Salutations Kevin, to what do I owe this surprise?" Edd asked nervously. Kevin snorted. "Just seeing if you've heard anything from Sky".

Edd could feel his lunch wanting to jump out of his throat. "Uhh n-no I haven't".

"That's cool Dweeb. Grab your things, I'll walk with you and the dorks today. Eddy spit a spitball at me today in 3rd, and I have a bone to pick with that little shit".

Eddshot Kevin a disappointed look, but nodded and opened his locker, finding what books he needed for the night, and replacing them with the unneeded ones in his bag. He closed his locker and saw that Kevin already had a head start and was mumbling something to Eddy, which couldn't have been pleasant, for Eddy called him a dickwad and hollered at Double D to hurry up before he would have to "smash the pumpkin". Kevin just rolled his eyes at the smaller teen, clearly unfazed by his threat. Edd hurried over, fiddling with his necklace. This didn't go unnoticed by Kevin. Why was he so nervous? He hasn't played with that since... well yeah since that.

Edd took a deep breathe before he walked out of the front doors. The icy wind hit him first, making him zip up his old leather jacket. Then he saw him. Skylar was leaning against a tree, nose in a book. He looked so serene just standing there. It was like Edd was seeing him for the first time all over again.

Skylar was a very attractive male, and he carried that confidence everywhere, with everything he did. He had dark ashy blonde hair, that would most likely touch the bridge of his nose if it wasn't swept to the side and held in place by his grey beanie sitting gently on his head. He had grey blue eyes, that could smolder you; the smokiest blue Edd had ever seen. Above those eyes, was an eyebrow ring, that perfectly matched Edd's. He stood about an inch or so taller than Edd, with the same body type. He was lean and athletic but was so tall and metabolism was so fast that he had a hard time packing on the weight. He really hadn't changed in any way. He was wearing black skinny jeans that hugged him in all the right ways, and a blue toned button up flannel a size too big. He was flawless really, and that made Edd's stomach began to turn in knots. What if Kevin developed feelings for Skylar and vice versa? What if his fate was neither one of them and they were destined for eachother?! Good lord, why hadn't I weighed out all the possibilities!? Stupid, stupid!

Kevin looked over at Edd. He couldn't decide if he looked stunned, or absolutely horrified. The red head lightly nudged him with his shoulder. "You okay Double Dork?"

Skylar's head snapped up at the sound of Edd's nickname, his blue eyes clashing with Edd's. A massive grin took over the slender boys face as he closed the book and tucked it in the back pack on the ground next to him, not wanting to take his eyes off the blue eyed boy in front of him.

Kevin followed Edd's glance to see a boy, that strangely resembled Edd, slow jogging towards them.

"D!" exclaimed Skylar who had just skidded to a stop in front of the now red faced boy.

"Hey Sky... wow its been so long. You uh, you look healthy. Like you've been getting all your nutrients..."

Skylar snickered at the flustered Ed, but not before noticing the fire crotch standing next to his dear D, who for some reason looked pissed.

A dude...SKYLAR IS A FUCKING DUDE ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!

Kevin rubbed at his mouth angrily, turning away so nobody could see his little freak out that he knew would be visible on his face. Edd felt Kevin shift when he accidentally bumped him, sending chills up both boys' spines, and making him hyper aware that he was in the most awkward situation in his young life.

Skylar looked around nervously. He didn't know anyone except Edd, but Edd was still so shocked to actually see him that he still wasn't quite ready to introduce him yet, and it was awkward.

"Oh dear, my apologies everyone. Skylar, this id Ed and Eddy, my two best friends I told you about". Skylar threw acknowledging nods towards the two and received them back. Edd turned to Kevin who was staring down Skylar, like he was going to maul him, or eat him maybe, who knew. " And uh- this is, this is Kevin. He lives in the house across from me".

Could I have been any less sensitive to Kevin... Edd felt terrible about his less than courteous introduction.

"Sup" Skylar sent Kevin the same nod as the other boys, but received no reply. Instead, Kevin pushed past him only to say "C'mon dorks, are we walking or what? Looks like its gonna rain, so lets go".

Eddy scoffed at the red head, but tugged on Ed and followed anyway, leaving Edd and Skylar to catch up while they walked.

Edd could tell that Kevin knew something was up, but he didn't seem jealous, he seemed furious, and that scared the whits out of Edd.

Skylar waved a hand in front of Edd's somber face, throwing Edd off guard and stumbling backwards, but not before Skylar grabbed his shoulders to steady him. "Still as clumbsy as ever, huh Edd?" Skylar let out a chuckle, casing Edd to as well.

The boys walked in near silence back to the cul de sac, apart from Ed's random questions he asked every few minutes. "Kevin, why do you wear your hat backwards silly?...Eddy, why did you stop growing?...Isn't it funny that Double D and Skylar both wear beanies and have eyebrow rings?" At that last one, both boys looked down shyly, faces reddening. "Well, Ed? Right? D and I got them together, so..." Kevin turned around to walk backwards. "You guys got piercings together?" He looked absolutely disgusted. Skylar could have sworn he was a homophobic jerk, so why was Edd associating himself with him at all?!

"Yeah, we did. What's it to you Garfield?" Skylar spat the name as ferociously as he could. Kevin's face turned red instantly, stopping and causing Edd to bump into him.

'oof'

"Yo watch it dude, you could have hurt D!"

Kevin had, had enough. "D, as you call him, isn't a piece of glass, he wont break, so chill. And you, you need to lay off. I'm the last person you wanna pick a fight with I can promise you that".

"Oh dear, gentleman, please," Edd cried. "There is no reason for this. Kevin," the ravenette turned his blue eyes to him, "there will be no altercations, you hear me? And Skyar," Edd changed his direction over the next boy, "you need to lay off the red head jokes and don't take everything as an insult. Kevin simply has no filter."

Kevin scoffed and turned back around. "Yeah, whatever Dork".

Skylar could see the pain in those blue eyes. How come he let that jerk talk to him like that if it hurt his feelings?

Edd felt the name sting. He didn't say it in his normal carefree joke manner, this time it was like they were 10 again, and Kevin had never changed.
