Hello~ there everyone! Lady of the Mays here with an update, FINALLY! I am sorry that I've taken so long to update this fic. Not because I didn't want to... (T.T God did I want to) First I had mid-terms, then the inspiration fairy visited me. Always nice, never turn her down people or she ignores you out of spite if you do. But she didn't inspire the fic. I wish she did though. I got a couple other ideas that I'm experimenting with, to see what will work and all that.

Anyway, since she hasn't given me inspiration of it I can't promise that I won't update more quickly. I am emphasizing that I am NOT going on haitus. This fic will still be updated, it will just take longer.

I don't like it either, but I can't just turn down from the stupid fairy. I could, but then she won't visit and I really would have to put this fic on haitus.

Anyway, I thank all you readers for sticking around and following my fic even though it hasn't been updated in so long! YOU GUYS ROCK FOR THAT! ^,^

A special thanks to:

RenTenTen, your review was very sweet.

WhiteRose-Kurama, your review was one of the longer one's that I've gotten but it also reminded me to keep up and think about the plot. Thanks for that,!

Remember that I love reviews, tell me what you see wrong or your thoughts. I don't care as long as you review.

I don't own Inuyasha or Naruto thought I wish I did.

Konoha

Tsunade collapsed in her chair and reached for the bottle of saké she'd kept close to her person for the last few months. She uncorked the bottle and took a large gulp. It burned down her throat but she knew it would take much more than that to burnt what she'd just seen from her memory.

She heard the door to her office open, "I said I didn't want to be disturbed."

"It's in my experience that misery loves company," the miko said, taking the bottle from the blonde. "Also a proper drink."

"What's a 'proper' drink to someone like you?"

Kagome poured her and the hokage sake from the ceramic jug into two bright red cups, she had a feeling that this discussion with the blond would be long one. After her small display on the effects of reiki on mortal organisms, the blonde seemed both shocked and awed. Apparently only one other ningen had been able to grow a tree almost instantly died long ago. Usually it was better to have some liquid courage before events like that, but better late than never. "I've found that when combined with my reiki sake tends to taste better," Kagome answered, not really answering the blond. "More potent as well. I don't get as easily drunk as I used to and this makes a good substitute in emergencies."

Bringing her reiki out she concentrated it in her hand, the light pink glow visible even to Tsunade's spiritually null eyes. She passed her hand over the two cups of alcohol. The liquid simmered with a glow before dimming down back to it original clear color. Tsunade raised an eyebrow at the application of Kagome's reiki, apparently it had a lot of uses.

She took the offered cup, tasting a little of the familiar liquid for anything poisonous. Finding nothing, the Hokage took a larger sip. It was sweeter, not a lot thankfully, but it tasted faintly of what sakura blossoms would taste like. It burned down her throat and pooled in her gut before spreading out with a curling warmth that almost made her eyes droop in sleep. Her vision was already buzzing along the edges. It would usually take two jugs before that happened.

"If you do that to all your sake I should have you do it to my stores," Tsunade commented, happily taking another sip. "This stuffs good."

"Thank you," Kagome said, drinking from her own cup. Her own reiki didn't affect her beyond a mild buzz but the alcholo tasted good to the ancient miko..

The two women sat in silence for a while, Tsuande starred out her balcony to look at her village. Even from her office the huge tree was visible. Her mind slightly buzzed by the 'holy' alcohol she could appreciate its appearance instead of the terrifying and amazing power it contained.

It was actually very pretty.

It's leaves glimmered in the sunlight with a cornucopia of green hues. A thick brown trunk supported the whole thing the same size of a full grown man. Strong branches fanned out from the base out in all directions. Maybe it was the sake, but she could swear she could barely make out a distortion pouring out of their tree top and falling around the edges of Konoha.

The Eien no Ki, the eternal tree.

Tsuande sighed and relaxed more fully against the wall, letting the sake relax her mind, it was strange but she felt safe for the first time in months. "My grandfather used to tell me stories about mikos and other holy people," she said. "They were supposed to be incredibly gifted, since they were blessed by the kami themselves to fight against youkia. If your village had one you never had to fear. I've seen the destruction something as powerful as the Kyubbi can do, and I've seen more destruction at the hands of the horde."

"But...?"

"But I've never seen anything like this before. You literally grew a tree that would have taken decades to grow in seconds! My grandfather is the only one in history said to have been able to do that and he was a Kage. It's almost terrifying the amount of power someone like you has. I can hardly imagine what kind of force you could be if there were hundreds of you."

Kagome carefully took another sip of saké, her sapphire eyes gazing at the blond woman sitting with her, and her empty cup. With a sigh Kagome took the jug and refilled the blond's cup, "I was fairly powerful even when I was mortal centuries ago. However even then there had never been another as powerful as I am. Many less certainly, but the Kami never created another who was my equal."

Well that certainly made her more comfortable. "You were the most powerful then?" Tsunade asked mildly fascinated thanks to the alcohol, and wary of someone who was supposedly so powerful.

Kagome nodded, her face and eyes seeming almost sad, "I am the last Miko, Tsunade-chan. Besides my ototo there hasn't been another anywhere near my strength since before the forming of the Kekkai Barrier nearly two millennia ago." She gazed out to the tree, her eyes glazed and lost in thought. "There wasn't a need, with youaki and ningen separated as they were. Now there is no barrier, and I can only wonder why Sota's destiny lead him to now. To this time so different from our own or that of the past, this era of ninja."

Tsunade snorted, ignoring the informality the raven haired woman addressed her with, "You sound like Neji, harping about destiny and fate. You make your own destiny, not whatever Kami are supposedly up there."

"He wasn't wrong," Kagome said her face pensive. "Nor should you insult the Kami Tsunade-chan. Some don't take well to being insulted. Everything happens for a reason and we ningen are born to fulfill their reasons, whatever they may be. We are incapable of dong anything else."

"Sounds," Tsunades brows scrunched up, looking for the right word in her buzzed mind. "Depressing and complicated."

"One of the reasons I've given up trying to figure out what the Kami think," Kagome said with a shrug. "All it ever gave me was frustrations and a headache."

"Kami or whatever, I assume there's another reason that you invited me for a drink," Tsunade pointed out, her mind not totally shot from the holy sake. Steel eyes looked into her red cup, noticing it was empty and lifted it to the raven haired miko.

Kagome smiled a little at the blond and poured another drink for the two of them. "Yes."

Tsunade waited for the miko to continue. "Well?"

The ravenette released a long suffering breath, "You said that youkai only started coming up a few months ago right?"

"Yeah..." Tsunade trailed off, wondering where this was going.

"The amount of low level youkia that I've sensed is not the accumulation of a few months Tsunade," Kagomes sapphire gaze held the Hokage's steel ones. "The amount I've sensed can only come about years of waiting, centuries even. The youki I can sense in those that you call Hyuuga and Uchiha is diluted as well, a hanyou had to have been born at least 800 years ago to those clans in order for the level of dilution to occur. The inbreeding none withstanding. I'm concerned."

"What does that have to do I bith anything?" Tusnade slurred, though she had a sinking feeling that she already suspected it.

Kagomes eyes hardened and her face became resolute. "This sudden outbreak of youkai is not a sudden event Tsunade, it's been waiting for centuries. Probably from all the back to my time."

Her cup fell from her hand, clear liquid spilling and eyes widening at the implication. "Then the Akatsuki..."

"They were merely the trigger," Kagome finished, fetching the blond's cup and handing he the jug of remaining sake. "Whether the barrier fell or they managed to somehow make it fall; your Akatsuki only, whether unknowingly or not, unleashed something that had long since been building. And it will only get worse."

Tsunade's head rose sharply a the miko's words, "What do you mean?"

Kagome looked at the blond haired Hokage, "History repeats itself."

Tsunade swallowed thickly, "You've seen this before?"

Kagome nodded looking at the huge tree that flowed with her ki. "The warring states era was a time of bloodshed, Tsunade-chan. Ningen fighting against ningen, youkia and miko. There was no discrimination to the ningen of that time, they feared the youkai and other ningen that would kill them as much as the miko and houshi(monks) that defended them. It was a time of blood shed and war."

Tsuande was infinitely glad that she was already sitting down or else her legs wouldn't have been able to support her, she clutched at her red cup. "Then what can be done? Konoha has barely recovered from the last few months, it will take us months to repair the damage. It not years. None of my ninja have any training to take out youkai and other hidden villages are facing the same problem, there don't seem to be anyone with this 'reiki' you or Sota have-"

"Actually there is," Kagome interrupted.

Tsunade stared at the raven, "What?! Who?"

"A rather..." Kagome searched for the right word to describe the young man she'd sensed and later seen. "Energetic, young man wearing green spandex. Not exactly what I was looking for, but the Kami look towards the purity of the tamashi, not the personality of the person." She had been like that. Full of malice and hate but her reki as strong as it had been at her death all those years ago.

"Lee?" Tsuande blinked, unsure if she'd heard right. "Rock Lee is a houshi(monk)?"

"Technically he isn't a houshi since he hasn't received any training," Kagome clarified. "But yes, Rock Lee has the potential."

"But his chakra pathways are damaged. How can he-"

"Tsunade!" Kagome yelled. Tsuande quickly shut her mouth at the miko's harsh tone. "I would think that with half a millennia of experience I would know another reiki user better than a ninja don't you think? I am more than capable of teaching him."

The Hokage processed what she said and narrowed her eyes at the blue eyed miko. "Your taking Lee as well as Naruto?"

"I certainly don't plan to leave him here," Kagome admitted to the blond. "Naruto is going to be in the middle of his transformation at one point. He won't be able to process the changes without someone to keep him under control and guide his new instincts. And Lee is in even greater danger. Unlike myself or Sota, he has no control over his reiki or knowledge how to use it without killing someone. Lee will come with us when we leave Konoha to learn his duty and how to use his gifts."

"But can you teach him? Youkai and holy people aren't exactly the same."

"I raised a Kitsune kit Tsunade-chan," Kagome chuckled with amusement. "He was pure youkia and most of my unnaturally long life I've lived in the Makai(Demon Realm). One doesn't do either without being strong and able to adapt. Besides, I was young once long ago, and the training Naruto will be going through is actually similar to a houshi's. The only thing Lee-kun will have to fear is the many women wanting to bear his children."

Tsunade starred wide eyed at the strange woman, who looked confident in her answer. I really don't want to know how she knows that. Thank Kami she hadn't been born with reiki.

They were crazy.

I'm seriously beginning to regret ever agreeing to this, Kagome thought to herself as she and her group kept walking back to Suna.

"Teme, get away from my obaa-chan!"

"You're not her husband dobe, I can be as close as I want."

"Go walk by Sakura-chan, not my obaa!"

"Kagome-san your youth shines so brightly! I can only shout to the world that I have such a youthful sensei!"

The trip was going well, as could be all things considering. They had left Konoha 3 days ago and after explaining who and why she needed to come with her, Tsunade had reluctantly allowed them to leave. Course their little 'chat' seemed to have put a few things in perspective for the blonde woman.

Kagome had to give her credit, even drunk, the sake loving blonde was a sharp one.

The Hokage had managed to glean that she knew more that what she was hinting at, or perhaps she wanted to know more about how Kagome knew about the origins of their clans 'kekkei genkai'. As much as Kagome would like to deny it she wouldn't be so naïve to believe that the 3 ninja the Hokage had ordered to come with her were there just to learn about her. It was likely they were there to study her, and her techniques if what she'd heard about the 'Sharingan' from her kit were true.

Kagome didn't mind much, she had other more important things to think about, like the destruction of the Kekkai Barrier and her new pack, but having so many untrained ningen traveling with her was annoying. They covered their fear well enough but it still came out in their auras and attracted lots of lower youkai looking for an easy meal before her own scared them away. Not that Kagome could really blame them for their fear. When she'd been traveling to and from the modern era to the feudal one she had been very with afraid at the beginning but her family shrine had texts and scrolls to explain youkai to her, as well as her Nee-chan(big sister) and Nii-chan(big brother) on the other side of the well. With Sota's memory gone, something that she hoped to fix, she was pretty much the only one that knew anything about youkai and the different types of powers that ningen once consorted with centuries ago.

After all, who could honestly say that they had seen demon slayers, hanyou, youkai, miko and houshi in action? Or use the old powers? Or stop rampaging youkai?

Anyone who claimed that would have been taken to a psychiatric hospital before they could say 'oops', at least a few months ago.

Now they would likely be hoarded and trained to kill youkai on sight, later used for their entire lives in the defense of their villages and ningen who both used and feared their power.

Kagome mentally sighed, yep Sengoko Judai all over again. Sometimes I wish I was reborn youkai, maybe then I wouldn't get involved with ningen so much.

However discrimination and violence towards those of youkai nature and decent was something that Kagome understood very well, so she doubted that she wouldn't somehow be involved one way or another.

Discreetly, and hoping to stop the direction of her thoughts, Kagome's gaze unconsciously moved to the back of one Itachi Uchiha.

She really didn't know what to think about the man. Sure he'd offered his home to her, her ototo, and Naruto which was kind of him to do but he didn't seem the type to give a random stranger, a deadly and well trained random stranger, access to his home. Kagome hadn't thought much of him at first, in Konoha she had her pack's wellbeing and care to occupy her. On the road with nothing to do she observed the man.

Itachi was a handsome male, Kagome would admit that. Pale skin covered a lean but well muscled body, no doubt obtained from years of physical exertion. Hair that reminded her of a dark moonless night went to his shoulder-blade and tied back, eyes so black it was like the windows to his soul were covered in a dark curtain, chiseled masculine features, handsome despite the lines of exhaustion carved on his face. She'd seen and lived with much more physically attractive beings of course, living with youkai who were much more physically attractive than ningen certainly upped one's standards, too bad many of them were too emotionally constipated and arrogant bastards.

It wasn't his face that made Kagome look at him though.

It was his tamashi that caught her attention.

His aura was tinted with power and strength, and a wildness that was strangely familiar to her senses, though Kagome couldn't help but wonder why. Sadness and regret made up a rather large part of it as well but underneath that was a man of such compassion, loyalty, and gentleness.

Other women would be attracted to him for his looks, she knew several youkai females that would have found his aura enticing enough for them to take him as their mate, even though he was human.

Such a tamashi didn't deserve such a past as bloody as his, or have to make the decisions he did. Despite being a stranger Kagome wasn't deaf and it would seem that despite the difference in time gossip was still good and strong. She heard the story about how the elder sibling had killed his family for the sake of his village, leaving only his ototo alive in order for him to kill Itachi himself. Fortunately, it seemed like the Kami had intervened and changed his plans, instead Sasuke defeated his nii-san and he was brought back to Konoha were the Uchiha clan's plans and his orders were laid bare. Itachi had been sparred once the truth was out and allowed to stay in Konoha, under parole.

Kagome wished she could have been one of those shallow bitches that were only interested in him for his looks. But no~ she had to find him, his aura, personality, and mind, basically everything about him interesting. She had the most insane urge to know this male, and that truthfully terrified her beyond all reasoning. Give the miko youkai, death, curses, anything else, and she was confident she could deal with it. Being attracted to another? She was a mess.

Especially since Kagoe hadn't felt interested in someone since his death centuries ago, she swore to herself to never be interested in another again since that day. When your foretold other half dies before you, it's not a hard thing to do even if it felt like someone had taken her heart from her chest and put it in a meat grinder. Why did the male have to be so bloody confusing!

"We should stop and make camp here," Kagome suddenly spoke, effectively forcing herself from her thoughts and grabbing the attention of the very ningen she'd been thinking about. "Night will fall soon."

Kagome looked around. It seems that she had led them back to that glade that she had stayed in before, they would soon be back in the desert and Suna. That was a part that the miko wasn't looking forward too. The desert gave off an odd feeling to her. The ninja nodded and started settling down for the night.

"We'll set up the spells and hunt dinner then," Kagome said looking at her brother. "Come Sota, Naruto"

"Hai nee-chan!" Sota replied with an excited smile.

"Hunting? I can really hunt with you obaa-chan?" Naruto asked, a cautious but happy smile as well.

Kagome could 'see' the kit's fluffy ears perk up in excitement at hunting with family and had to reel in her urge to rub the invisible appendages. It was something that all Kitsune families did, or at least what most packs did together. It pleased her to see his subconscious reaction to her, Naruto's pack instincts were strong and it filled her with relief to see that he accepted her place in his life as Alpha and family matriarch. He was taking the change from ningen to youkai extremely well and she couldn't be more proud of her grandchild.

Easy Kagome, you can touch the cute, soft, fluffy... damn it. I really want to touch them. Kagome gave her kit a smile and ruffled his blond locks playfully.

The three of them walked away from the group, the trees seeming to eat their forms till nothing was left as they hunted for the first time as a family.

Itachi watched the two siblings and blonde walk away from camp his curiosity didn't show on his face but he couldn't help it. If Itachi had one vice, it was his curiosity. He liked knowing things, whether it was jutsu theory or a mystery. He just had to know. And the miko was certainly a mystery. But Itachi wouldn't allow his fascination with the woman to cloud his judgment of her, while she hadn't been hostile to them or Konoha she was still dangerous. Especially since they didn't fully understand her powers or what she could do.

Nor would he let it get in the way of his mission.

"I think it's time that you told us why you five are following Kagome-chan," Temari questioned once the three were out of earshot.

"Saa what do you mean Temari? The Hokage just wanted to make sure that you all got to Suna safely," said Kakashi his visible eye in a U and his orange book open as usual.

"Cut the bull crap Kakashi. The Hokage wouldn't send you just to make sure that we got back to Suna," Temari snapped at the silver-haired jounin. "Kagome-chan is the safest person to be around now. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that. Why are you watching her like she is an enemy?"

The pink haired kunouchi snorted, "The Hokage has better things to do than to have that onna(woman) watched. Ensuring the safety of the Kazekage and his entourage to Suna is what the mission is. Besides why would she need to be watched? She doesn't have any ninja skills and dresses oddly. All that power seems to come from those strange weapons of hers."

Itachi ignored the conversation, focusing instead on coaxing a fire to life. Personally though, he disagreed with the pinkette. The older sapphire eyed sibling, Kagome, was more than powerful without those weapons of hers, but she would never use them against Konoha or her allies. Itachi didn't really understand how he knew that. He didn't understand a lot of the things he was feeling since the miko came around. Since she and her brother had similar powers, Itachi thought he would have a similar reaction to her as he did to Sota. Or a worse reaction, seeing as she seemed stronger than him.

Instead I felt... A spark came from the flint and quickly began to burn the wood and leaves, creating a hot pulsing entity. Itachi would have found the action oddly fitting at describing his thought towards the blue eyed miko if he'd been paying attention.

"Watch who you speak about onna," Gaara snarled, his teal eye flashed gold and fangs bared, surprising the pink haired kunoichi and forcing Itachi from his thoughts to the red head.

"Kagome is strong Sakura," Sasuke said, his face blank while he leaned against one of the clearing's trees, his eyes staring off into the distance. "She is more than capable of taking out youkai and ningen that try to come after her, or did you forget her arrival already?"

Silence enveloped the camp, though the silence was more one of shock from the Konoha nin than anything else. The Kazekage and his sinblngs just looked bored. Kakashi looked at his former student with surprise, he'd never heard Sasuke defend someone, let alone a stranger.

Itachi raised an eyebrow at Sasuke, who was looking in the same direction three of their party had gone off to. The younger males face didn't give away his thoughts but the look in his eyes reminded Itachi of when he used to try to follow him to his training grounds.

Itachi was more than surprised to see his prideful ototo with that look on his face. Let alone directed towards the blue-eyed miko, Naruto, and Sota.

Itachi was well aware that Sasuke had a lot of baggage and emotional problems from his choices. Orochimaru was a sick and twisted fuck that enjoyed tormenting people. Sasuke had lived with the snake bastard for three years and it messed him up. Itachi's own actions towards his younger sibling were the most powerful since it was the starting point for his dream to avenge the clan, damaging him even further. Now Sasuke hated small spaces and had mild panic attacks when another person touched him. He rarely associated with anyone other than the blond Kyuubi-jailer, and even less with women and others.

So to see him with that expression. To see that he wanted to be around the miko and her strange little group was almost inconceivable.

He might even like her.

*Ba-bump*

Itachi felt an odd pain in his chest at the possibility of his ototo liking the young-looking miko. What about them has changed for you ototo that you now look at them like that? What?

Especially considering how much Sasuke seemed to dislike her and Sota when they first met.

"Sasuke, she isn't a ninja, she doesn't have any skills to save her from enemy nin that try to attack her!" Sakura screeched.

"I believe that I will be the judge of my skills against ningen, Haruno-chan," a voice said from the darkness. "Just because reiki is different from your chakra doesn't mean that it useless ... quiet the opposite, with all the youkai around."

The ninja looked up, the hunters had just returned in time to hear Sakura's comment on the miko's skills it would appear. Three pairs of sapphire blue eyes looked at the pinkette with a small amount of dislike, though Naruto seemed more disappointed at his teammates comment towards the miko.

A boar was swung over her shoulders while Naruto carried his own besides her and Sota with a few rabbits on the other. The animals looked more appetizing than the solider pills ninja were accustomed to but Itachi was more than curious to see what the miko would do to the pinkette for her disregard and insult.

The miko tilted her head to the slide as she regarded the younger woman, who looked very uncomfortable under her piercing blue eyes. "It's true though," Sakura stubbornly countered. "You have no experience with ninja. You could easily be over powered and killed out here, since you don't know how to properly defend against jutsu and other ninja tools. Besides, you're a miko, according to legend your reiki can only kill youkia."

The raven haired woman's frown became more and more pronounced the longer the pinkette spoke. By the time Haruno had finished, the miko looked like she would happily kill the girl.

"That's the biggest load of bull shit that I've ever heard," Kagome commented offhandedly, her face become blank though her eyes glittered more dangerously than the men that now had their fangs bared at the young woman. "It would seem ningen are even more ignorant that I guessed if those are the legends about reiki that have been passed down. Great, just great. As if my life wasn't complicated enough already." The woman sighed. "Sasuke would you help me prepare the boars? They're a little too big for me to handle myself."

Sasuke stood up from his spot on the forest floor and joined the miko by the fire. She handed him a knife and the two of them went to work on the animals.

"Reiki isn't useful against only youkai Haruno-san," Sota said handing off his rabbits to his older sister. "It affects everything. Or didn't you get that from the Eien no Ki and nee-chan's Ryu no Honō(Flames of the Dragon)?"

"What can reiki do exactly?" Itachi questioned, curiosity once again eating at him. He would have to ponder this intense need to know about the miko later.

Sota looked at his sister, who was now roasting the animals and ignoring them, before turning back to the Uchiah with a smirk. "It's certainly more useful than chakra, that's for sure."

Seeing the youth's secretive look Itachi wished, not for the first time, that he knew just what houshi and miko's were capable of doing. All of the texts that he'd read before the summoning that brought Sota to Konoha, those that he could find anyway, had merely said that they meant to purify youkai and care for shrines. Obviously the texts didn't record everything about them, if the other two raven heads were to be believed.

Kagome and Sasuke quickly finished skinning the boars and set them to cook over the fire for a few minutes while the miko skinned the rabbits. Once they were done Naruto grabbed the raw rabbits and ate them without bothering to cook them. Blood covered his face while he ate and more than one nin turned a little green watching the blond. Kagome tasted a small piece of boar before declaring them done and handed out the cooked meat to the others. Sakura denied the miko after her teammates display.

"Ah, Shikon-san?"

"Hai Hattake-kun?" Kagome said, eating peacefully, as if the blond eating rabbits raw didn't bother her in the slightest.

"You're gong to teach Lee to be a houshi correct? Perhaps you could give us an idea what exactly he'll be capable of doing. After all mikos and houshi have been extinct for centuries and it would seem most of the information on them seems out of date. Please," the jounin added as an after thought.

"Of course," Kagome said dismissedly as she continued to eat. "Mikos and houshi do a lot of things. Need to since we have so many duties. Really depends on their specialties, some are healers, others guardians, all of them always have martial training however and spells. If they're powerful they're taught soul work and tasked with guideing the spirits of the dead to the Netherworld or banishing malevolent spirits to Hell. That part isn't fun, that's why Shikigami(death gods) from Rekai usually do take care of that part, unless they aren't around anymore."

"That's can't be all of it," Sakura said with a snort. "Magic and spells. Hell, the Netherworld, and Shikigami don't exist."

Kagome narrowed her sapphire blue eyes at the pinkette, "The same could be said about youkai, but if they didn't exist your friends and fellow ninja wouldn't be in a oni's(Ogre) stomach now would they?"

"Bitch."

"Very old, powerful, and experienced, Alpha-bitch Haruno-chan. One that has seen and done thing that you can't even begin to comprehend," the miko countered dully. "I am not human, Haruno. These monsters that you see, killing, eating, and doing worse to people are as normal to me as ninja are to you. I've lived with youkai for centuries. I've learned how to kill them, seal them, fight with and against them. Yet you and all the other ningen in this time can barely handle a lower youkai. Much less those that I've spent most of my immortal life in the Makai with. Take care just who you chose to anger. Because I have no problem letting you become the next meal for a hungry No-Onna(Nothing Woman) and listening to your screams as she feasts on your flesh and tamashi."

"You-"

"Sakura, enough," Kakkashi harshly reprimanded his former student. "Forgive her Shikon-san, she is still young and the youkai have made Sakura-chan a little more than nervous."

"Your student appears very rude, Hattake-kun. Stupid thing to do, moronic as well, to alienate an ally that can easily kill youkai. If it happens again I won't wait for a No-Onna to find your student, I will feed her to the youkai myself."

The pinkette paled and flinched at the woman's words, clearly terrified. Kakkashi seemed be studying the miko, as if trying to figure her out. Lee seemed shocked that his childhood crush would be so rude to his new sensei. The three men besides the raven haired miko seemed oddly at ease, Itachi narrowed coal-black eyes at them.

Obviously this wasn't the first time the miko promised bodily harm, though the fate the miko was promising the kunoichi sounded like she meant it. Does that mean that I'm wrong about her? Why do I still feel as though she wouldn't harm Haruno though?

Suddenly the miko stood up and broke out into a wide smile. "Well I don't know about you but I'm done threatening people for the day so I'm going got go meditate before heading to bed for the night. Want to join me Ototo?"

"I'm good nee-chan," Sota chirped.

"Naruto?"

"Nope."

"Young people today, no respect for their elders to join them in meditation," Kagome groused halfheartedly.

"I respect my elders obaa-chan!" Naruto said dramatically. "When they are old looking."

"Silly kit."

"Nu-uh, till you look like an old lady!"

"Silly, stubborn, kit." A small loving smile on her face from her kit's teasing. She petted the blonde's soft hair and her ototo's before moving away from their group. Not far enough that she was out of anyone's sight but not close either.

Why do you confuse me? Itachi thought as he watched the miko walk away. Why can't I bring myself to hate that you do?

Kagome found a good tree and sat down, quickly finding her core from much practice she meditated, making sure to leave a portion of her senses open in case of attack. Her reiki washed over and through the land, mingling with it like a miko should.

It fed on ningen from his host's den. Most didn't have what it needed, but a few did. It's host seemed to have collected a lot of tainted ningen. While they were no youkai, their tainted and corrupted bodies gave It inofmation when it aborbed them and it's host processed the confusing knowledge. It learned about the world it found itself in, about chakra and jutsu, both were ueless to it's youki, but It still learned.

It felt it then, the sting of purity that washed over It and the land. Searching and exploring, for what It didn't know but it knew it didn't want the purity to find it. Not when It had things to do, a proper body to create. Burring itself within it's host, It allowed its host control of his body once again.

Within the mental confines of it's host It planned.

It needed youkai, real youkai, with more youki then tainted corrupt ningen. It wouldn't be able to get stronger unless it merged with something stronger than tainted ningen and it's current host. A miko was out there, a strong one, from the sting it had felt of it's purity.

So much power within a single female.

It wanted that power. If it had that he would be invincible. It would also have a strong female for it's offspring as well.

It wouldn't go after the miko now, no it needed more power take the miko for itself. More youki to exceed that stinging purity it had felt, but also some way to stop itself from being purified by the miko before it mated with her.

It recalled the child-houshi, it had been denied the youth's body, but if it grew strong... If it merged with stronger youkai than the Boar youkai and then went after the child-houshi again It could take his body and merge with it. The miko's stinging purity wouldn't be able to touch it since it's body would have the same purity.

Please with it's plans, It rested in it's host. It would need to rest. There was much it needed to do in order to get what it wanted. And it would get what It wanted.
