Isabella's POV

Seth looked flabbergasted and then utterly heartbroken in the span of a second as he registered my words and then his eyes widened when Leah poked his cheek. She promptly fell to the ground laughing hysterically. Seth scrunched up his face and tried to ignore her.

"So the legends about the cold ones are true?" I was about to answer him when Jacob and Emily along with Maria stepped out from behind the rock. Instantly Seth went into a defensive position in front of Leah and let out a low growl but to me and Maria's surprise he instantly straightened up and placed a hand on his throat, as if he couldn't believe that sound came from him. Jacob and Emily slowly moved forward and Seth shook his head, blinking his eyes in the same way he had before at the river, as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Jake? Emily? What-you guys are vampires too?" He stepped forward as to greet them in his friendly way; I laughed and shook my head. Seth sure wasn't a normal newborn!

As he got five yards away from Leah her entire demeanor changed from extremely happy like a high to extreme anguish and anger. She was instantly on her toes as Emily's eyes connected with hers and Leah let out an ear piercing wail. Emily instantly fell to her knees and screamed in the same heartbreaking anguish Leah wore on her face, Emily's hand began clawing at her chest and I was quick to interfere.

"Seth! Move back toward your sister! Emily! Emily shhh it's okay." Seth listened and once again Leah didn't have a care in the world but nevertheless Seth placed on comforting hand on her shoulder. Emily looked at me with wild tear filled eyes and rubbed a hand over her chest.

"I'm so sorry Leah!" Emily who was still on her knees curled into herself and began to sob drily. I looked to Maria who shrugged her shoulders and I sneered back. What help she has been!

I knelt down beside Emily, and like Seth did with Leah, laid a gentle hopefully comforting hand on her shoulder. "What happened there, Emily? What did you feel?"

She looked up and wiped her imaginary tears away before sneaking a glance over to Leah who thank goodness was still under Seth odd power. "It felt like the most incapacitating heartbreak. It felt like my very soul was burning and evaporating and the only way to make it stop was to rid my body of the object, my heart." She sniffled and launched herself to Leah. I didn't stop her; she was safe as long as they stayed within five yards of Seth. Soon Emily was sucked into the same high as Leah but she still had enough wits about her and hugged her cousin to her.

"Well that was an interesting show." Maria quipped from her place leaning against the rock. I didn't acknowledge her, instead I waved my hand at a now shifted Jacob-when did that happen?-and he charged Maria. "Just don't kill her." I called easily and climbed back onto my rock, watching the semi love fest going on in Seth's circle and the ass kicking Maria was being dealt by Jacob.

Hours later Maria was being put back together by Jacob, my first lesson to him; if you're going to play you are going to pay. Seth and Leah had fed, though it felt almost wrong to make them-especially Seth-feed from their own people, almost. I made sure Leah and Seth fed together, I didn't want anyone else in my party to experience Leah's power and I was hoping sometime soon I could try and help my children learn control.

"How'd you get so lucky huh? I only ever get such a gifted newborn once every few years if I'm lucky and here you have four of them in one go!" I growled in frustration and turned to see Maria wincing in pain as her last limb reattached. We were in the woods behind Sam's house but Sam had disappeared, I had a slight inkling of where he had gone, not that it mattered.

"It wasn't like I was trying, Maria, really, I didn't even plan for this." I shook my head, I was still mystified myself of how I ended up with four newborns at once when I never even planned for this. Only about a month ago I was bored witless and then waltz in the Cullen's.

"Still, you're such a lucky puta! So what are you gonna do about the rest of the tribe and the Cullen's?" I saw Jacob and Seth stiffen at her question about the tribe but they didn't have a choice, it was part of my original plan after all minus the newborns.

"At dusk we will burn the reservation down, after taking the human's lives of course." Jacob snarled loudly and Seth whimpered. I swiveled my head in their direction, my eyes hard.

I looked up into the rising sun my voice swift and holding no room for arguments. "This will done, you can either sit back and watch or be part of the party but it will be done."

Maria laughed merrily but question still in her eyes. "And the Cullen's will surely make themselves known to me once again, I'm surprised they have yet to try and stop me."

I really was surprised but it didn't matter much to me, they had made this all too convenient.

"For now though, we need to work on your powers, it won't help for them to be at all scrambled." I approached Leah first and laid a hand on her shoulder. "Seth, go ahead and back away just over five yards, I believe that is the distance it is required for your power to be useless."

As he was backing away I began to manipulate Leah's essence so she would be only able to hear me and her eyes closed just as Seth reached his point. Leah immediately stiffened but I was quick to react. "Leah, it's okay, you're a vampire now though I'm sure in that pleasant haze Seth provides you were able to make out that much. What I need you to do is to search inside yourself, find the part of you that shines, that's your power. It sounds silly but trust me, and I need you to lock it away. It isn't Emily's fault that Sam left you; she tried very hard to stay away. All of your legends are true, the shape shifters exist and Sam is one of them. He imprinted on her and it took her free will away and made her his mate." Leah's shoulders shook under my grip, in sadness or anger I searched and found it to be sadness.

"Have you found that light within yourself, nod for yes." She nodded. "Okay, now I need you to put it into a box, one that is easy to get to and remember, you can always use it when you need to, but it isn't for friends." I felt her shoulders sag under my hands and I slowly returned her will and her eyes snapped to mine.

"Isabella! Up ahead!" I swiftly opened my hearing up at Maria's words and sure enough I heard a thundering of paws as well as the swift movement of three vampires.
