Graykit crouched in the grass patch,
ready to weaken the mouse.
He could tell he wasn't the only one surprised by the
kind tone in Emberkit's voice when she said to try again,
he could see the confusion and shock in Honeykit's eyes.
Even though Emberkit's voice was calm and forgiving,
he thought she would claw his fur off by the end of the day.
This time when Honeykit gave the signal he clawed at the mouse,
giving it a few scratches, then Honeykit continued to chase.
Icekit took her place afterwards and Coldkit froze up when he
was supposed to finish it off, Yin and Yang finished it off instead.
Emberkit approached the young cat, Graykit couldn't hear what she said,
but she looked calm when she said it.
Yet Coldkit quivered in a crouch under her.
He nodded and got into position,
"This'll be the last practice round today."
Emberkit announced, then went to get another piece of prey.
When the practice ended they headed back to camp.
Emberkit didn't say the worst performers today, everyone else
was just as confused,
Graykit could tell by their faces.
Everyone had permission to eat and sleep.
For the next couple of days they practiced with prey.
