'- have been hundreds of reports of strange incidents occurring all over the world.' The news reporter was saying. 'There have been several sightings of what appear to be large and ferocious dogs. We urge anyone who sees one of these creatures to keep inside of their homes and avoid it for maximum safety.' The article was joined by the picture of a hellhound running through the streets, snapping at the mortals running from it.
'There have been riots and mass panic spreading through the nation in the light of these events and we urge whoever might have information in relation to this phenomenon to come forward.' The reporter said in those 'grave' voices they put on. This is ridiculous, I thought, leaning back into Percy's arm where he had it wrapped around me.
We were studying, before Sally came in and told us to turn the TV onto the news. Mortals all over the world have been freaking out because the Mist is gone and no gods have come down to explain anything and Chiron can't exactly do it, in case he just freaks out the mortals more.
Goode has been out-of-action for the past few days. This whole thing with the Mist has really messed everything up and no one quite knows what to think - making the parents believe it's not safe for their children to go to school. But, tomorrow there will be a half-day, only so the teachers can schedule an assembly to give the students an update on what will be happening.
Everyone was just sitting down in the auditorium when the microphone made that really annoying squeaky sound. I looked up from where I was sitting and saw the principal standing behind what seemed to be a large projector. Except it wasn't. It seemed to be a huge Iris message and it was portraying the throne room of the newly-renovated Olympus.
Many mortals started screaming and Apollo moved from his throne to the middle of the 'screen', putting on a soothing expression.
'Hey! Hey! Hey, hey. It's alright, we're just here to explain everything.' he said, giving us a dazzling smile. I heard Tayla sigh despite everything that was happening and rolled my eyes. Percy tensed up beside me as he realised what was about to happen. The gods were about to reveal their existence to mortals.
And that was exactly what they did. The mortals surrounding us watched in awe as the gods spoke, explaining everything from monster to demigods and the Titan war from two years ago. This message was being broadcasted around the world everywhere (with subtitles for the non-English speakers).
'And if you think that you will discriminate or threaten any of our children just because you think they are dangerous or different - we will wipe you off the face of the planet.' Apollo finished in a strangely serious tone. His brightened quickly though as he started- 'On a happier note, I am proud to announce the hero of the Titan war Mr Pe-' a loud 'NO!' interrupted him.
Poseidon came into the shot and started arguing with Apollo in rapid Greek about why they should not tell the world about Percy. Said person relaxed against my side when he saw his father saving his privacy.
'Okay, okay, fine. I won't tell them. Party pooper.' Apollo mumbled. He looked back at the screen with a disgruntled expression.
'I'll be going now, but if you have any questions ask your local satyr or demigod - if you can find one that is. Toodles!' He did this little finger wave that I seriously want to erase from my memory right now.
As soon as the message disappeared, the auditorium seemed to explode with noise. Everyone started shouting and screaming at once, causing several people to block their ears. Eventually the principal managed to gain some form of control again and called everyone to order.
Things will definitely be very different from now on.
Hey! I know it's short but I really wasn't in the mood to write considering I just got back from seeing Benedict Cumberbatch! I did promise to update and here it is!
Toodles!
