Chapter 10: Changes and a Glitch
Seanzilla115: Once again, hello minna. Well...it's almost time. Once this chapter's posted, along with chapter 15 of GammaTron's Omniverse Underground story, we can begin working on the crossover. I know I stated this many times before but...now I'm kinda nervous. I mean..what if it doesn't do well? I know this is my first time doing a crossover with one of GT's stories, but I'm really nervous about it. What if this story ends up getting fla..*smacks self in the face*...sorry about that little panic attack there folks...Anyway...on to the disclaimer. I don't own anyone in this story, nor do I own the Sonic the Hedgehog Series, Ben 10 Series, and Blazblue Series. I do though own Haseo Yukimaru Sakurai while Gammatron owns Roll Cyber Sakurai.
Sonic yawned a bit as he laid in his room inside Freedom HQ. It had been like, what? 2 days since he and his team came back to refuel. The reason why Sonic and the rest of Team Fighters hasn't left yet is because Tails and Rook wanted to upgrade the Tornado and Gale, mainly because they want to be prepared incase they're hit with another EMP wave, like the one back in the Shazamazon.
"Man...you'd think they'd be done by now..." the blue hedgehog mumbled to himself a bit. He really wanted to get back out into the field as soon as possible so he could stop Eggman and his cronies from causing more chaos on Mobius. He then recalled the day before yesterday, which was when he and his team arrived at Freedom HQ.
(flashback)
"Welcome to Freedom HQ, our home away from home," Sonic stated to Roll and Haseo as they walked into one of the rec rooms inside Freedom HQ.
"S...sugoi..." Haseo awed a bit as he looked around.
"Hai...demo...it could use a little more decorating..." Roll noted.
"You know...I was thinking the exact same thing for a while," a voice spoke, startling both Roll and Haseo.
"Wh..who said that?" Roll pondered as she looked around.
"That was Nicole," Sonic replied, causing the two hedgefox' to look at him, "And telling by that tone in her voice, she must be in a pretty good mood."
"Indeed I am, Sonic," Nicole's voice responded as the female lynx/A.I appeared next to him ina swirl of data, startling Roll, Haseo, and Yacker, "Greetings. As Sonic said, I am Nicole. And you are if I may ask?"
"G..greeting, Nicole-san. Ore wa Roll Cyber Sakurai," Roll introduced herself with a bow before motioning to Yacker and her little brother, "And this is Yacker and..."
"GThjFrfG," Yacker spoke as poked Roll's shoulder.
"Eh?" Roll blinked a bit as she turned to see Haseo was no longer next to her, "Haseo? Where did he go?"
"Ano..I believe he ran under the couch the moment Nicole popped up," Sonic spoke before pointing to a pair of familiar black and white tails sticking out from under the couch, "That, and I can see his tails sticking out."
"I see...arigatou, Sonic-san," Roll nodded as she walked over to the couch and bent down a little, "Haseo-chan? Are you okay? It's not like you too..."
"T...t...tenshi(angel)..."
"Hmm?" Roll blinked a little as she looked under the couch to see a heavily blushing Haseo.
"T...t...t..tenshi..." the shy hedgefox stuttered.
Roll blinked a little before she looked over at a confused Nicole. She then started to piece it together as a sorta-teasing smirk grew on her face.
"I see now..." the blond hedgefox noted quietly to herself as she looked back down at Haseo, "Now now Haseo-chan. It's rude to not introduce yourself. You don't want to be rude to Nicole-san, do you?"
"...A...a...ano...n...n...no," Haseo managed to squeak out.
"Then come on out from under there and say hi," Roll stated as she helped Haseo crawl out from beneath the couch and walked back over to Nicole.
"A...ano...I...I'm Haseo Yukimaru Sakurai..." Haseo introduced himself in a rather quite tone.
"...I apologize, but I didn't quite catch that," Nicole stated a bit.
"Ano...I..I'm Haseo..." the young hedgefox said a little more louder.
"Again I apologize, can you speak a little louder please?" the lynx/A.I asked nicely.
"..." Haseo let out a shy whimper as he hid his heavily blushing face behind his tails.
"...is he okay? Did I...perhapes do something wrong?" Nicole asked Roll.
"No you didn't, Nicole-san. Haseo-chan has always really shy around new people," the older hedgefox giggled a bit while thinking 'Especially ones he starts to get a crush on...'
"I see..." Nicole noted as she turned to Sonic ,If I may ask, where are...?"
"Tails and Rook are at the hanger upgrading the Tornado and Gale, Makoto and Tsubaki are with Ben in the other rec rooms, most likely to help with his lessons, and Amy's went home to rest," Sonic replied.
"Ahh...I see..." Nicole noted before smiling a bit , "By the way, I have some good news. Someone new will be joining the council."
"Really?" Sonic asked, earning a nod from the lynx/A.I, "Who is it?"
"Well..." Nicole began as she disappeared in a swirl of data, "That'll be telling, wouldn't it?"
(end flashback)
'I wonder what she meant by that?' Sonic pondered mentally before shrugging, "Meh. Who knows. Maybe it's someone who's not influenced by Naugus spell."
Oh how little did he know about what was about to happen at the RMHQ.
Speaking of said HQ, the Council of Acorn, along with , watched as Naugus began to initiate the newest member of the council, which a female Mobian Mongoose that looked like an older version of Mina with longer hair.
"And do you, Isabella Mongoose, swear to serve this...republic and its people? To act as its will and voice?" Naugus asked the mongoose, the wizard/king placing a sword on her shoulder, the handle and hilt of the blade wrapped up in a black cloth.
"I do..." Isabella nodded.
"Then rise...Councilor Isabella," Naugus stated as he rose the blade of the sword of the mongoose's shoulder before tossing the blade over to St. John and stating mentally to him, 'Take that blasted thing back to the armory!'
'What's the matter? Can't handle a little holy relic, sir?' St. John replied mentally with a small smirk on his face.
'It burns to the touch! Now away with it!' Naugus barked mentally at him as he sat down in his place amongst the council.
"Would our newest councilor like to start todays agenda?" Rosemary asked the mongoose.
"I would Rosemary. Thank you," Isabella nodded before she gained a serious look on her face, "I motion to overturn Nicole's exile."
"NO!" Naugus roared, his voice sounding demonic for a second as he slammed his claw on the table, nearly breaking it in half. He then calmed down a bit, unlike the rest of the council, who were both surprised and scared by Naugus' sudden roar, "N...no. I...the council has already voted. I protect this city."
"With all due respect your Highness, the recent attack on the city proved you can't," Isabella stated, "If I recall correctly, Team Freedom saved you, and drove back Doctor Eggman's forces. If Nicole could've given us an advanced warning, then the city would've fared better against not only the doctor, but the previous attack from the Battle Bird Armada."
"...You..." Naugus began with a growl.
"You know...she has a point," Dylan spoke, "Public concern is why we voted for exile in the first place. But with latest attack from Eggman, not to mention the attack from the Battle Bird Armada..."
"Perhaps if we applied the monitoring system we have now..." Penelope began.
"We could finally rebuild the castle," Isabella finished with a nod.
"Well that sounds like a good plan but...will Nicole accept?" Dylan pondered, "I mean...we did exile her after all."
"She's a Freedom Fighter. Of course she will," Charles stated to the porcupine.
Naugus growled to himself as the council-minus a reluctant Hamlin, started agreeing with the motion. If Nicole was back in the city, then Naugus would lose control of the people. He can't let that happen, not after all he did to get this position!
"Naugus..." the mad wizard/king turned to see Charles looking at him, "We need to know what you think of overturning Nicole's exile?"
"I...I..." Naugus began before he got up and began to leave, "I leave the rest to the council."
"But..." Charles began.
"I feel ill! Summon me if you need the tie-breaking vote!" Naugus barked at the elderly hedgehog as he left the meeting.
"If you ask me, we should forget about bringing that stupid A.I back into the city," Hamlin snorted, "I mean, look at all the damage she caused when she was under the Iron Queen's control! In fact, we should just delete her right now so she can't hurt anyone ever again!"
"...Need I remind you that most of the people inside the city, including myself and Sir Charles, were once controled by Robotnik?" Isabella stated with a frown, "Also, it was because of the nanites Nicole controls that we have this city. If she were deleted, the nanites would lose control before shutting down, and we all would end up homeless."
"..." Hamlin began to snap at the mongoose before he realized that she was right, the pig starting to pale a bit.
"...you didn't even about that, didn't you Hamlin?" Charles asked the pig.
"...I vote that we overturn Nicole's exile," Hamlin stated, having realized his mistake.
"Right...but let us see what the people think after young Mina's concert," Charles stated while thinking, 'I hope Sonic and his friends will still be here when Nicole's exile will be overturned.'
"Achoo! That was weird...someone must be talking about me..." Sonic guessed as he walked into the rec room Ben, Makoto, and Tsubaki were in, the crimson red head sitting across from Ben at the tabel with a few books surrounding her while Makoto was sitting on the couch, flipping through some of the channels on the TV, "Hey guys."
"Greetings, Sonic-san/Hey Sonic," Were the others response.
"Whatre you guys doing?" the blue hedgehog asked, "And have you seen Roll and Haseo around?"
"Tsubaki's still hepling me with my Japanese lessons, Makoto watching a bit of TV until I get a break, and I think Roll and Haseo went out into New Mobotropolis to pick up a few things," Ben replied.
"I see..." Sonic noted as he turned around and left, "I might as well join them. See ya guys."
"Ja ne, Sonic," Ben replied as he turned to face Tsubaki, "Did I say that right?"
"Hai. Youre doing very well in your lessons so far, Ben," Tsubaki nodded, "But I believe we should try something a bit harder now..."
"...which is?" Ben asked.
"Going over the names of your Aliens," Tsubaki replied as she pulled out a small note book containing detailed pictures of the Aliens Ben turned into, and some of the aliens he has yet o turn into, "I want you to try and say their names in Japanese."
"...Okay. Sounds easy enough," Ben shrugged as he cleared his throat, "Lets begin then."
"Very well then, lets start with the first alien you turned when we first arrived on Mobius, Way Big," Tsubaki said as turned the pages on the note book until she came across a detailed image of the To'ku star, "And before you ask, Rook-san gave me the details on what he looks like."
"Right...now let's see..." Ben pondered a bit, "Is it...Daiteki?"
"No. But you were close Ben. The only thing you messed up was you forgot to add an extra 'Dai' in Way Big's name. Therefore, his name in Japanese would be Daidaiteki," Tsubaki explained.
"Darn...thought I had it there..." Ben groaned a bit.
"It's okay Ben, we all make mistakes," Tsubaki stated, "Now...let's go onto the next alien, shall we?"
"Ye...I mean, hai, Tsubaki-san," Ben nodded.
"Good..." Tsubaki nodded while thinking, 'He's really been doing good with the Japanese lessons ever since we came back from the Feral Woods. Hmm...perhapes maybe after were done, me and Makoto can help him out with some training? His aliens maybe powerful, but I have a feeling that he has yet to tap into their true strength.'
Meanwhile, back inside the RMHQ, Naugus was approaching a pair of large doors.
"If I can't convince the council...then perhapes I can convince the former king's father," the wizard/king stated to himself as he opened the door, revealing a large, acorn themed bed room.
"...to what do we owe the...pleasure, sire?" a female Mobian chipmunk wearing a orange and gold dress asked him as the wizard/king walked inside the room.
"Nothing much, Lady Alicia. I've come to visit my poor, ailing friend," Naugus replied with a small, toothy 'smile' as he approached an elderly squirrel/chipmunk Mobian sitting in a wheel chair, the Mobians blue eyes having a dull look in them, "Hello...Max."
"..." the former king and father of Elias and Sally didn't reply as he started blankly into the space in front of him.
"It truly pains me to see you like this. Why...I remember watching you grow into a fine young man. From king...to The Great War...to banishment..." Naugus stated as he crouched down to Max' height, "I was there for you then, wasn't I? I gave you the power to survive in the Zone of Silence. Do you remember how strong and healthy you were back then? Hmm?"
"My husband is not well, sir. So please get to the point," Alicia frowned at Naugus.
"Lady Alicia...I'm offering him a new lease on life," Naugus stated as he stood up, "I can make him whole with my Crystalline Magic. All he has to do is enter into contract with me again. Just as before..." 'And then I can posses you again, giving me time to heal my body.'
"...N...No... Max managed to get out.
"W...what? N-now Maximilian. I..." Naugus began before Alicia cleared her throat, catching Naugus attention.
"My husband has already given you an answer. Now kindly leave us in peace," Alicia stated with a frown.
"Grr...you listen here! I am king here! I..." Naugus began before Alicia slapped him hard in the face.
"I'm normally not a violent person...but unless you want another one, I suggest you stay your tongue," Alice frowned at him, "And you listen here. My husband is the beloved former King, and you look no healthier. Leave, or we will se who the guards truly favor and how you fare against them."
"..." Naugus glared at the female chipmunk before he turned his back at her and left the room, Alicia giving him a glare of her own.
Once Naugus had left, Alicia was about to leave before she felt someone hold her hand.
"Alicia..." the chipmunk slowly looked down to see Max staring at her, the chipmunk/squirrels eyes having a bit of life in them, "Th...thank you..."
A small, sad smile began to form on the former queens face as she gave her husband a hug.
"Grr...infernal, interfering woman," Naugus growled to himself as he walked along the city of New Mobotropolis.
"Yes. How dare a powerless woman stand in your way," Agunus said in a mock tone inside Naugus' head.
"You really missed out on possessing a feeble, old man,"Suguna added inside Naugus' head.
"Perhaps our host is waiting to die sooner! Ha ha ha!" Nusgau laughed cruelly inside Naugus' head.
'Still you tongues, parasites! The plan is sound. I just need a different vessel...' Naugus stated to the spirits inside him, the mad wizard/king unaware that St. John was spying on him.
"Hmm...That should be everything, hai?" Roll asked her little brother and Yacker as she carried a few bags.
H...hai, Onee-chan," Haseo nodded, the younger hedgefox carrying a few bags of food in his arms.
"Good. The let's..." Roll began.
"Hey Roll! Haseo!"
"Eh?" Roll blinked a bit when she noticed Sonic running towards her, "Sonic-san? What're you doing here?"
"Nothing much. Just wanted to join you guys for a bit," Sonic shrugged as he stopped right in front of the two hedgefox' and Wisp, "You need any help with those bags?"
"Ano...sure. Here," Roll replied as she held out two of the bags to Sonic.
"Okay then..." Sonic nodded as he took the bags before said bags pulled him near the floor, the blue hedgehog struggling to carry the bags, "Jeez! What's in these bags?! Rocks?!"
"Nope. Some tools for Tails-san and Rook-san to use," Roll replied.
"I...I see...but...how wer you able to...?" Sonic began with a grunt before he heard a certain, wizard/king nearby in one of the houses, "...Naugus..."
"Eh?" Roll blinked a bit before Sonic made a silent motion to have her, Haseo, and Yacker to follow him silently.
The two hedgefox' and Wisp nodded as they followed Sonic to one of the nearby houses, specifically the one with the mailbox that a shaped after Sonic's head. As soon as they reached the side of the house, they crouched down underneath one of the windows before slowly looking up to see Naugus talking to Sonic's parents, Jules and Bernadette Hedgehog.
"And thus with my magic, I can turn you back to normal like I did with Bunnie," Naugus stated to the two hedgehogs. Well...hedgehog and Robian due to Jules condition, "All you need to do is put faith in your king. So...what do you say?"
-...and I need to enter a magical contract with you because...?- Jules frowned at him with his wife.
"W...well...it's the nature of the spell," Naugus answered, the mad wizard/king feeling a little nervous as his plan started to back fire on him.
"Except Bunnie didn't need to," Bernadette pointed out with a frown.
"Um...w..well...th-that was...a different situation," Naugus gulped a bit as he started to sweat nervously.
-...Uh huh- Jules obviously didn't believe the mad wizard/king as he turned to his wife -Care to go first, dear?-
"Gladly," Bernadette nodded as she gave Naugus a glare, "Jules remains a Robian due to his old war wounds. You except my husband to risk that to a process you can't explain except it's magic? You expect us to believe you have no other motive when you could've offered this treatment? Just after you changed Bunnie, which need I remind you that you turned her limbs into crystal in the first place before you changed her back to normal?-! Of all the nerve to..." the female hedgehog took a few deeps, calming breaths as she looked at her husband, "Your turn, hun."
-Thank you, dear- Jules nodded as he shot his own glare at Naugus -Furthermore, you're the man who nearly drove both Mobians and Robians into civil-war, were the bitter enemy of my mentor, and most importantly...tried to kill my son- he then pointed at the door, a look of anger on the Robian's face, -No Sire. I will not take you up on your offer. There's the door, so please conjure your way through it before I'm forced to do something I might regret-
"...Grr...You...you...ingrates..." Naugus growled at him as he stomped out the door, unaware that Sonic, Roll, Haseo, and Yacker were spying on him the entire time before the three Mobians and Wisp hid behind a nearby tree just in time as Naugus turned back to see a Jules and Bernadette still giving him a glare before Jules slammed the door shut, "No wonder that quickster is intolerable. It's genetics...cursed mutations...blast...I'm nearly running out of time."
"...Man..." Sonic spoke as he, Roll, Haseo, and Yacker poked their heads out from behind the tree once Naugus was out of view, "I've never seen my parents act that mad before...then again...I completely agree with them."
"Same here. I'm really starting to hate Naugus-teme even more..." Roll agreeed with a frown before she asked the blue hedgehog, "Demo...may I ask you something, Sonic-san?"
"Sure. Ask away," Sonic shrugged as they walked away from his house.
"Wh...why's your tou-san a Robian?" the female hedgefox asked, causing Sonic to sigh sadly.
"I...really don't like talking about it...but...a few days after I was born...my father received a fatal injury..." Sonic replied sadly, causing both Roll and Haseo's eyes to widen, "There wasn't anything to doctors could do...except one thing."
"A...ano..wh-which is?" Haseo couldn't help but ask.
"My uncle turned him into a Robian..." Sonic replied, " You see..my uncle's machine, the Roboticizer, was meant to help people out...But..since the Roboticizer was a prototype back then...my father was turned into a Robian and had no free will of his own before he did the same thing to my mom."
"O..oh my," Roll gasped, "B...but how...?"
"Let's just say a certain fategg messed with it and...well...you two probably know the rest..," Sonic answered with a sigh as he looked back at his house, "We've managed to get my mom and everyone Eggman captured when he was Robotnik back to normal...but my dad...he's stuck as a Robian. Because if he were turned back into a Mobian...he would die from his fatal injury."
Roll frowned at that the part about Eggman, the hedgefox angry at both him and Naugus at the moment. He turned a machine meant to help people into one where they lose there free will, and started an all out war for Mobius. She then saddened a bit, recalling what Sonic told her about his dad. She immediately wiped the still forming tears from her yes as she placed a hand on Sonic's shoulder, the blue hedgehog turning to see her give him a small, sad smile.
"Do not worry, Sonic-san. Perhaps..." the hedgefox paused as she tried to wipe the still forming tears from her eyes, "Maybe someday, someone will make something that'll not only turn your tou-san back to normal, but heal him of his injury."
"...I hope you're right, Roll," Sonic sighed a bit, "Say uh...are you okay?"
"H...hai. Just...got something in my eye is all," Roll replied a s she wiped the last of the tears away, "L..let's jsut get back to the others, hai?"
"...Okay," Sonic nodded as he picked the bag of tools back up and carried it for Roll as she, Sonic, a silent Haseo, and Yacker walked, or float in Yacker's case, back to Freedom HQ.
As they were leaving, Roll looked over her shoulder to see small tears falling from Haseo's eyes.
'Haseo-chan...' Roll thought sadly, the older hedgefox knowing how her little brother felt since that info Sonic told her about his father made her recall an old memory of what happened to her and Haseo's father, Only...she then shook her head a bit, wanting to forget that memory right now as she, Sonic, Haseo, and Yacker headed back to Freedom HQ.
"Grr...this better be the last thing for today, apprentice," Naugus growled silently at St. John as they made their way into New Mobotroplois Coliseum, which was filled with many of the city's citizens, most of them excited for today's concert.
"Just a public appearance at Mina's concert, Sir," St. John replied.
"Good...today has been...trying," Naugus growled a bit as he sat down in a chair made specially for him.
'You seem...relaxed, Naugus,' Agunus noted.
'I used this band to spread fear about the AI. More hate mongering music should quill any talk of...reversing the exile,' Naugus replied mentally, an evil smirk on his face as Mina walked up on stage.
"Good evening everyone! And thank you for coming out!" Mina called out to the crowd, earning a loud cheers from them, "That last concert was supposed to be about empowerment. But..." the mongoose paused as she sighed sadly, "The message got mixed up in a cloud of my own fears. Which is why..." she paused again as she started to cheer up a bit, "I want to start by saying by saying tonight's si about love, understanding, and forgiveness! Tonight is dedicated to someone very special, who has given everything for us, but now needs us to give in return! This first song...this whole concert...is dedicated to Nicole!"
"...I think I'm going to vomit..." Naugus growled, his ears filled with the noise of the people cheering for the AI.
"Public image, sir," St. John replied before he held his hand out in front of Naugus, who was about to stand up and stop the concert, "SIT."
"..." Naugus grumbled as he sat back down before frowning as Nusgau laughed in his head, 'Shut up! I'm sick of keeping up these pretenses! I'm sick of the citizens fickle moods! I'm sick of these mutations and your blasted voices!'
"Mother...I think I lost my Tails-looking doll," Cream, who was amongst the crowd with her mother and the rest of Team Freedom, said as she looked around for said doll.
"You've taken such good care of it. I'm sure you left it at home," Vanilla stated to her child.
"No...I'm sure I..." Cream began before she noticed something glowing beneath the stage.
"A one! A two! a one-two-thr...kya!" Mina screamed as the stage suddenly started to fall apart.
"Oh my!" Vanilla gasped as most of the people inside the stadium began to panic.
"Team Freedom! Get them out of there!" Rotor ordered his team as he, Cream, Big, and Heavy shot forward and got Mina and her band out of the collapsing stage just in time as it fell into pieces.
"..." St. John's eyes widen a bit before a look of anger grow on his face as he turned around to face Naugus, "You! You just had to do something, didn't you?-! And don't you dare tell me that wasn't just a 'tremor' or..." his eyes then widened as he noticed Naugus starting to mutate again, "...Crickey. It wasn't you?"
"Are you okay?" Rotor asked Mina as he placed the Mongoose down on the ground.
"Y..yeah," Mina nodded as she looked back at the crowd, "Let's hear it for Team Freedom saving the day again! This is why we need Nicole back! The stage would've been fine if she were here! She needs your support! Team freedom and Team Fighters need our support! They're there for us, so we need to be there for our heroes!"
The crowd cheered loudly in response, happy that their favorite, singing idol was safe and sound. Everyone though was unaware that Naugus and St. John had left.
=A little bit later at Freedom HQ=
"There you go," St. Jhon said as he helped Naugus onto his throne "You going to be okay?"
"Yessss apprentice. You ssssssaved me. You are loyal..." Naugus wheezed in response, his mutations starting to get worse.
"...I shouldn't be..." St. john sighed as he turned away from Naugus, "I...I believed you could do good for this city...but I was wrong."
"..." Naugus stayed silent as he listened to his apprentice.
"Quirks aside, you taught me to be strong and self-reliant," St. John continued as he turned to glare at Naugus, "I thought you could bring those ideals to Mobotropolis...but again, I was wrong."
"Grr...watch your words! Or..." Naugsu began.
"No! You listen to mine!" St. John snapped at him, "You betrayed my city with that stupid stunt you pulled underground! It's a miracle you were stopped! You're sick, twisted, psychotic, and wrong! But..." he then sighed sadly, "I'm no better. Makes me a lousy person to judge," He then glared back at Naugus, "Look. I don't what it was like in the Order of Ixis. All that backstabbing and lying might've been needed back then, and they served me well as a spy...but those days are behind us. This city is full of charitable, forgiving folks. It's the one place in the world where blokes like us can let our guards down and truly do some good."
"...Are you so naive as to offer us their trust? To offer redemption?" Naugus frowned at the skunk.
"You heard teh crowd back at the coliseum. They're ready to bring Nicole back already. I arrested Sonic once, and he put it behind him for pete's sake!" St. John stated, "Look...my point is, I know your sick, have been since Eggman did his white-out attack instead of trying to trick your way out of it...So how about asking for help? Just this once?"
'Don't even pretend to consider it! You're too prideful...'Agunus stated to Naugus inside his head.
'He should not because it's stupid! You don't expose your weakness to the enemy!' Suguna added.
'If you give in to your appreantice, you'll just prove you're as gullible as the rest of this city of morons!'Nusgau added with a sneer.
'Oh...oh yes,'Agunus grinned when Naugus nodded a bit.
'It seems we've reached an agreement for once...'Suguna added.
"My dear Geoffery..." Naugus began as he placed his hand and claw on the skunk's shoulders, "You've reminded me of what I've forgot."
"...sir?" St. John blinked before he began to wince in pain as Naugus tightened his grip on his, a maniacle look on the mad wizard/king's face.
"You swore your allegiance years ago! You entered a contract with me at the beginning! you will server as my vessel!" Naugus cackled as he became a cloud of dark smoke and began to enter St. john's body.
"No! Let go of...AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHH!" St. John cried out in pain as Naugus entered his body, the skunk falling to the floor on his knees. After a few moments of silence, St. John began to pant a bit as his head began to slowly rise, showing that his eyes were now the same as Naugus'.
=The next day=
"And with a unanimous vote, and out sincere apologies, we welcome you back into the city under monitored conditions," Charles stated to Nicole as the lynx/AI stood before him and the rest of the council.
"I am happy to accept, Sir Charles," Nicole bowed in response, "I will be in good hands. But..was the vote really unanimous?"
"...Well..." Charles began.
"It is now..."
Everyone looked to see St. John walk in from the right, the skunk's eyes looking like they normally did.
"My master is too ill to attend today, but he sends his full support on your return," the skunk stated to the lynx/AI.
"...He does?" Nicole and Charles blinked in confusion while the rest of the council gave each other confused looks.
"Yes. He has also sent me to confess a terrible secret he has kept all of you," St. John stated to everyone in the room before sighing, "You see...he's dying. And in his despair, he tried to take on all he could to serve the city to his fullest in his last hours," he then looked over at Nicole, "It has taken me quite a while, but I've got to see that his old ways were flawed, and how together we may save his life, so that he may serve you better. So...will you help me to help him?"
"..." Nicole nodded in response, the lynx/AI having an unsetteling feeling about this.
"Thank you. Words can not describe how happy I am right now. Now...I must go check on his Majesty," St. John stated as he started to walk away, his eyes starting to change into Naugus' once the skunk was in the shadows, 'Excellent. Those fools don't even have a clue. Once everyone has let their guard down, I'll cause a few 'accidents' to make it seem that it was Nicole who did it, causing everyone to fear and despise her again. Then after that...I'll begin my plan on turning the people of this city against the quickster and his team, not to mention having the people turn on that pesky Team Freedom as well.'
'Ahh...now that's the kind of thing I'd like to hear...' Agunus grinned darkly inside St. John/Naugus' head.
'The fear, despair, and hate that'll come off everyone in this city will taste devine...'Suguna added.
'Yeah...I can't wait to see that happen!'Nusgau laughed maniacly.
'Patience now...good things comes to those who wait...' /Naugus replied mentally as he walked further into the shadows until nobody could see him anymore.
Meanwhile, back at Freedom HQ, Ben yawned as he walked out of the males' bedroom inside the base, his hair being a bit messed up. He was about to head to the kitchen until he saw Sonic and the others having surprised looks on their faces as they watched the TV.
"Uh..hey guys...what..." Ben paused as he yawned and stretched a bit, "What's going on? Something happen on TV?"
"Yeah...something good," Sonic nodded as a grin started to grow on his face.
"..." Ben blinked a bit at that before he walked over to see what was on the TV, seeing a Mobian cat with red orange fur, short, styled red hair, and wearing a news reporter outfit on the screen.
-And it seems the final vote has been decided. Nicole, the very person who helped create our beloved city, has come back- the reporter replied, a crowd of cheering Mobians behind her as she stood nopt too far away from the Royal Millitary Headquarters -Many of the citizens of New Mobotropolis, including myself, have come here to deeply apologize to Nicole for how we treated her these past few weeks And...hold on. Here she is right now!- the cat smiled as Nicole walked out of the building before the newsreporter approached her -Miss Nicole. I just wan to be the first to say how deeply sorry I am for...-
-It is okay- Nicole replied, a smile on the lynx' face -Even though everyone hated me at the time, I still had a few friends to keep me going back then. Also...if I may say something...I hope to get along with everyone, and hope I can mend the damages I have caused when I was controlled by the Iron Queen, and help bring a brighter future to not only New Mobotropolis, but to all of Mobius as well-
-Look at that folks, such a kind soul! Even after all the times we've treated her, she still forgives us! So let us help Nicole bring her dream into reality!- the reporter declared as the people of New Mobotropolis cheered loudly in response.
"I..Is this really happening?" Ben asked, his eyes widened in surprise after Sonic turned to TV off.
"You better believe it dude!" Sonic grinned.
"Alright! Nicole's back in the city!" Amy cheered.
"Y...yay..." Haseo cheered quietly.
"Hai!" Makoto agreed with the pink hedgehog, "Oh man...I can already imagine the look on Naugus-teme's face!"
"Eeyup. The guy's probably livid by now," Sonic nodded before.
"Most likely yes. But..why would he agree to let her back into the city?" Rook pondered.
"Most likely because he was outvoted by the Council of Acorns," Tails guessed.
"Maybe..." Tsubaki noted, "By the way..are the upgrades to the Tornado and Gale ready?"
"Eeyup. We just finished them last night," Tails nodded with Rook.
"That's good to hear. So let's g..." Ben began before his Omnitrix started to go off, "Hmm?"
"What's wrong Ben-san?" Roll asked him.
"I don't know...but the Omnitrix' picking up something not to far from here," the brown haired teen replied before the Omnitrix shot off outside, dragging Ben along with it, "Woah!"
"Ben/Ben-san!" the others gasped as they ran outside and chased after him.
After a few minutes of chasing Ben through the woods, they came across a small clearing with a small circle of moss covered rocks in it.
"Are you alright Ben?" Rook asked the Omnitrix wielder, who was panting as he laid against one of the rocks.
"Y...yeah...didn't...expect the Omnitrix to do that..." Ben panted.
"True...I never seen it do that be..." Rook began as he and the rest of Team Freedom walked towards him before the rocks started to glow a bit once they were inside the circle, "Hmm?"
"Rook? What's..woah!" Ben yelped as he backed off just in time as all the rocks in the circle shot up with more popping up next to them before they formed into pillars of sort.
"Wh...what's going on?-!" Roll asked in a worried tone, Haseo and Yacker hiding behind the hedgefox as electricity started to crackle off the stone pillars.
"I don't know...but I think we set off one of Naugus' old traps!" Sonic yelled before he and the others were pushed into the ground as the gravity within the circle intensified.
"He must've...set it up...after he became...the king of New Mobotropolis!" Tails grunted as the garvitic pull forced him and the others down even more.
"Ben! Can you...reach the Omnitrix?-!" Tsubaki called out to said Omnitrix wielder with a grunt.
"Just barely...but...I...almost...got..." Ben began with a grunt, his hand almost reaching the Omnitrix before said flashed a bit, "...that...can't be good."
"Huh? Wh...what hap..." Sonic began.
=TEMPUS DIMENSIONAL DISTORTION DETECTED=
"Wha...?" was all Ben could say before he, along with everyone else within the circle were engulfed in a flash of bright green light before it died down, showing no trace of them anywhere as the inside of the circle collapsed on itself, forming a crater as the stone pillars shattred into tiny pieces of rock.
"AAAAH!" Ben yelled as he, along with the rest of Team Freedom, fell out of a small ripple and landed on the ground.
"Ow...I think I landed on my tail..." Makoto groaned as she got up from the small dogpile before sho noticed something with wide eyes, "Uh...minna?"
"What is it Mako...?" Ben began from the bottom of the pile before he noticed a small group staring at him and the others, the group consisting of...himself, Makoto, Roll, and Sonic?-!
"What/Nani?-!" the group of 9 exclaimed as Yacker fainted on top of Roll's head.
"Help me! Professor Kokonoe" a Chibi-style Omake.
Starring: Professor Kokonoe, Iron Tager, Kevin, Elias, Letta, and Lyco.
The curtain lifted, revealing something of a dark unlit lab…Said lab being somewhat messy. Then a spotlight sparked to life, revealing a fairly young adult catgirl with a slim body, wearing a large scientist like jacket with abnormally long sleeves that end up looking like paws, with cuts made in them allowing her slender arms to slip through, red pants with two long pink tails with white tips coming from the back, and high-heeled sandals. Her hair was pink, tied in a style consisting of a long ponytail backing up longer tufts resembling large cat ears which tend to overshadow her actual cat ears. Her eyes were a golden-amber with visible bags under them, possibly due to over-working, and she was also wearing glasses. With a certain elegancy, she began to speak.
"Hello lost children. I am Professor Kokonoe, lord and master of the Sector Seven laboratory," She paused to push her glasses back into place briefly, and then began to speak again, "…Well, OK, we aren't in the lab at the moment. This place can sort of be temporarily moved into the Boundary. Well, simply put, it's a mysterious room. A mysterious room where you can do anything you want. To be honest, it's a paradise for all those sad, little children who couldn't make it to the true ending. A sort of Avalon. If you're one of those nutbars who's all 'I don't need help,' or 'I want to unlock hidden stuff,' or 'I'll just look for a flowchart online,' then you can piss off."
She proceeded to sigh.
"Anyway, my job here more or less is to do three things every five chapters. First: Answer common questions that I believe most people are asking. Second: To do a little re-cap of what happened in the past five chapters for you idiots who decide to skip them to get to the good parts in later chapters. And finally, give out supporting information to further your understanding of the terms of BlazBlue and Ben 10," Kokonoe proceeded to glare at you, "One thing I would like to make clear now, is that none of the actions in this segment are considered cannon to the story, regardless of how crazy, funny, or even lovey-dovey it is. If I get one message asking about if this was cannon or not, I'm castrating the sender of said message with a cattle prod and a rusty knife!"
Kokonoe proceeded to sigh once more. It was rather repetitive for her at that point. She began to speak yet again to you, the reader.
"Very well. Now that that's out of the way, lost children of the day…you may enter," She ordered, and suddenly the whole lab lit up and Kokonoe took a few steps back.
As if on cue, the sound of a metal door sliding open echoed in the area. Kokonoe smirked as she watched Kevin walked in with Elias, Leeta, and Lyco following behind.
"Hey doc. I'm back," Kevin grinned a bit, "And we brought you the people you ask for."
"Yeah. I can see that, Kevin," Kokonoe stated, "And since I dont' see Noel or Gwen with you, I'm guessing they went to their rooms, right?"
"Eeyup," Kevin nodded in response.
'Um...where are we?" Elias asked a bit in confusion.
"Yeah...weren't we going to..?" Leeta began.
"Did you three just completely missed the opening dialog!-? Damn it! Boundary! Avalon! Lost Souls! Nutbar! Flowchart! Piss off!" Kokonoe growled, "It's official. I need to thin the door a bit!"
"...Okay...someone's got a temper," Lyco sweatdropped a bit.
"Trust me...you haven't seen nothing yet," Kevin whispered to the female wolf.
"Let's just get on with it," Kokonoe sighed in annoyance.
QUESTIONS
""Okay. Let's start with Questions we've got in Reviews and PMs. So far..." Kokonoe looked over at the 'IN' Box and frowned, "Well…Again, not many probably have watched/played all three series."
"Well...let's start with A5L's questions first, then" Elias advised.
"It seems he has a few questions," Leeta noted, "...what's a Kamen Rider and Super Sentai?"
"Japanese Heroes, along with the Metal Heroes like Space Sheriff Gavan," Kokonoe informed, "Sorry A5L, but this story won't have them...at least possibly not until after the events of..."
"Uh...Koknoe? You're almost about to spoil it," Tager pointed out.
"Huh? Oh! Right...sorry about that," Kokonoe said before she read the next question, "Sadly no. He's still hellbent on destroying this 'traitor' in the Freedom Fighters," her left eye then twitched when she read the last one, "...Ignoring that last one before I head down to A5L's house and tear him a new asshole."
"Here's one from Jackthehedgehog," Tager pointed out, "Yes. Each character will possibly have their own Astral Heat. But as for what they are..you'll have to find out yourself."
"Yes. Oh...here's a few from nightmaster000," Kokonoe noted, "...easy. Just go to the nearest hardware store and start building, or put up post saying 'minions for hire'," she then read the next question, "...I think the guy's a arrogant asshole who thinks he's smarter then everyone."
"Uh...Kokonoe?" Tager motioned to the 3rd question.
"...no comment," Kokonoe replied before reading the last question, "And I seriously doubt any of Ben's enemies will appear on Mobius..."
RE-CAP
"Okay, it's time for the Re-cap portion of our little get-together," Kokonoe informed, "And we'll start with what happened after chapter 5. Tager?"
"Right," Tager nodded before he began, "Lupe had informed Sonic that there was a Dark Egg Legionnaire spotted within the Shazamazon. Sonic, along with Ben, Makoto, and Haseo, decided to check it out. After a few minutes of searching and a few...mishapes, they encountered the Legionnaire and found out it was actually Hershey St. John."
"What? Hershey's alive?" Elias' eyes widened at that.
"Correct," Tager nodded before continuing, "She then led them to Sanctuary, where they met Father Solomon, Ellie the Hedgewolf, and Nun-Kaka, who turned out to be Taokaka's mother."
"I'm still surprised about that. How can her mother be so kind, gentle, and intelligent while the daughter is insane?!" Kokonoe demanded.
"I'm wondering about that as well...only without the part about Taokaka being insane that is..." Tager informed, "Anyway...after spending the night at Sanctuary, Sonic and his team made there way back to Tails and the others, only to encounter a fleeing Roll and Yacker with some Battle Birds chasing after her."
"..." Elias frowned after hearing the part about the Battle Birds, the former king remembering what they did to Castle Acorn during their invasion of New Mobotropolis.
"After rescuing Miss Sakurai, Sonic took her back to the others back at the Wolf Pack's village to heal her of her wounds," Tager continued on, "After some explaining from Roll, Commander Crimson, the one in charge of the battle Birds that chased after Roll, had demanded that they hand over Miss Sakurai and Yacker, otherwise he'll oder his troops to burn down the Shazamazon."
"...Did Sonic and his friends kick their butts?" Leeta asked with a small growl with her sister doing the same.
"You better believe they did," Kokonoe replied before she took over, "After beating the Battle Bird Armada back, decided to head out after Eggman with Roll and Yacker now part of their team. Oi...former king."
"Hmm?" Elias turned to face the twin-tailed cat girl.
"You take over this part real quick because you were there before Leeta and that lucky/unlucky lynx picked you up," Kokonoe stated to him.
"...Oh yeah..." Elias replied with a small frown, "Before Sonic and his team arrived, Eggman, or whoever was in charge of the Death Egg 2 at the time, sent out a group of EggSwats to attack the Feral Forest...not to mention sending my sister to assassinate me."
"True. Just be lucky Sonic and his team arrived in time for me and Larry picked you up," Leeta informed him.
"Eeyup. But while Sonic and Team Fighters managed to push back the EggSwats and Mecha-Sally, New Mobotropolis was under attack by the Death Egg 2, which is still a stupid name for a warship!" Kokonoe snapped, "If I hear that fatass, Eggman, make one more machine with the word 'Egg' in it..."
"Sheesh doc, calm down before you blow a blood vessel," Kevin stated with a sweatdrop.
"Indeed..." Tager nodded in agreement before he took over the re-cap again, "While Team Freedom was holding back the EggSwats and Death Egg 2, Leeta and Larry had just brought Elias to the hidden HQ of what'll soon be the Secret Freedom Fighters. There, Elias met the rest of the team, Lyco, Silver, and Shard. At first, Elias doubted the team Director Harvey Who gathered, only for the owl to remind him that Sonic and his team were busy fighting Eggman's forces while Team Freedom couldn't go up against Naugus. After a few moments of think, Elias decided to lead the team, only for..."
"I'll take over from here, big guy," Kevin spoke as he turned to the reader, "After Elias decided to lead the Secret Freedom Fighters, Harvey Who informed him that Kokonoe, who remained a mystery to the Secret Freedom Fighters at the time, decided lend three of her people, A.K.A me, Gwen, and Noel, to help Elias against Naugus, Who's quite possibly the UGLIEST person I've ever seen."
"Tell me about it...and that transformation of his didn't help any..." Leeta agreed with a shiver, her sister doing the same thing as they remembered what Naugus looked like after he transformed into that demonic form.
"Right...Anyway..." Elias began as he took over once again, "After Kevin, Gwen, and Noel arrived, we suited up and headed out. And just in time too because the Death Egg 2 released the Metal Series, who are quite possibly the most dangerous of Eggman's creations. Luckily, Rotor and his team managed to weaken them enough for me and the rest of the Secret Freedom Fighters to finish them off. Of course...we had to stay hidden so nobody can see us."
"Eeyup," Kevin nodded as he looked over at Kokonoe, "Are we going to...?"
"No. We're not going to re-cap this chapter, nor are we going to re-cap the events that took place underneath New Mobotropolis," Kokonoe stated.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
"Now then, I'll explain Ars Armagus," Kokonoe informed, "Ars Armagus, or 'Armagus' for short, is a more powerful form of Ars Magus that is used with the intent to kill one's opponent and requires a tremendous amount of Seithr. During the Dark War, in order to use Armagus in the most effective way, it would need to consume a great amount of Seithr which came from the Black Beast itself. With this knowledge, close range and melee weapons were the ideal type of weapons to develop. Those with high synchronicity were given especially advanced weapons. One of the most known of these types of weapons was the Sealed Weapon Izayoi. Many of the Izayoi was produced but only one or two remain today. The Sealed Weapons were not the final stage in the Armagus' evolution and mankind created something more powerful called the Nox Nyctores, the causality phenomenon weapons. The Nox Nyctores were weapons that were made to directly combat the Black Beast and their power far surpassed every other armagus. Using Armagus did not come without risks. Many of the people that had wielded them experienced negative side effects. Some would lose their senses or become insane. The emotional affliction that came from the use of the Nox Nyctores was even greater. By the end, only a very few people had the certain synchronicity to use the Nox Nyctores, those people would later become known as the Six Heroes. With the causality weapons and Ars Magus, the war had finally turned in mankind's favor."
"I see...But...what is a Nox Nycotres?" Elias asked, the chipmunk/squirrel becoming a bit interested in this new info.
"We'll go over that in the next Omake," Kokonoe replied before looking over at Kevin, "Kevin, lead them to the Training room. They got a lot of work to do before I send them out on their first mission."
"Got it..." Kevin nodded before whispering to the three Mobians, "You guys better prepare yourselves."
"...Why?" leeta couldn't help but ask.
"Because you're about to go into what I like to call...'Training Hell'," Kevin whispered to them.
"...what have we gotten ourselves into, Leeta?" Lyco quietly asked her sister with a gulp.
"I wish I knew Lyco...I wish I knew..." Leeta replied with gulp as Kevin lead the three Mobians to the door.
