Chapter 10: The Turning Point

My head was pounding. It felt as though my brain was slamming itself into the front of my skull. I felt all bound up; trapped-like. My body was overheating but, most of my clothes were still missing. "Wha-?" I started as my bearings came to me. Opening my eyes I was greeted with bright light spilling in from the windows. I found myself in my own room bundled up in multiple blankets.

"How'd I ge-?" I started thinking aloud to myself sitting up and pushing some of the blankets off me.

"I brought you home." A male voice came from my desk across the room. I jumped yanking the covers back up over myself, my neck snapping as I searched for the source of the voice.

"Eric…" his name spilled out of my mouth before my brain could keep up.

"Mel." He stated staring at me unblinkingly. "Glad to see you're conscious." He said getting up and bringing an unopened bottle of water with him. He sat down on the bed with me, holding the water out to me. I took it and began drinking quickly.

"How long was I-?" I began after gulping down half the bottle.

"'Bout two days." He responded glancing away towards the windows. Ugh, two days? How is that possible? I thought to myself shaking my head slightly. I ignored Eric's pointedly look and took another gulp of water. I noticed then just how quiet the house was. "Wher-where is everyone?" I wasn't sure I wanted to know the answer to that question, but I had to know.

"Uhm." Eric began standing up suddenly as if surprised. "Well, your dad is at magic school. Your mom and Wyatt is working and as far as I know Chris is finishing up his classes."

"O-oh. Okay."I said feeling confused at the normalcy everyone was showing. He sighed and sat down again, "They spent all day-and most of last night searching for the vampires." He explained. "They had to put on a show of being alright or people around might start asking too many questions."

I just nodded; my mind elsewhere. Aaron… Last I remembered he was getting his ass handed to him by two elder vampires. "…Aaron?" I mumbled. Eric stilled he stopped mid-sentence. He had still been explaining why my family was still out walking around as if our world hadn't just been blown apart.

"What…?" He asked just staring at me dumbfounded. "Are-are you serious?" He questioned standing up and looking down at me shock all over his face. "You're really still thinking about that monster? Mel. He- He used you."

"He loves me." I muttered more under my breath, but given how the house was empty he heard me just fine.

He bent down and tilted my face up to him. "Mel. I'm only going to say this once. No. He. Doesn't. He was using you to get at your family. Your power. That's all they want. That's all any of them want."

I started slowly shaking my head. "No." I said my voice stranger now. "No. He-he does. Otherwise he wouldn't have fought against the others so hard. He- he protected me."

"Oh really?" Eric asked crossing his arms as he walked over to my desk and leaned up against it. "Is that you've been unconscious the last two days?" Sarcasm was dripping with every word at his last question. I huffed glaring at him. I threw the covers off of me and started to stand up. The shock on his face was easily readable. I'm not sure what it was from, the fact that I was up and moving about or the fact that I had very little clothes on. Ugh, right. Forgot that part. I thought rolling my eyes and walking right past him. "Fine." I stated my anger getting the best of me at the moment, "Don't believe me?" I asked yanking random pieces of clothes from my closet and throwing them on. "Take me to him." I shrugged a sweater over my shoulders.

"Mel. What? No. I just got you out of there. I took you out of danger. I'm not allowing you to run back into it." He blocked off my way to my door. I huffed as I slid my last shoe on. "Eric. Move." I said standing to glare at him.

"Melinda. No." He countered. Still not moving out of my way. I had so many questions running through my head, Why would Aaron do this? How could he do this? I have to talk to him.

"I'm not going to ask you again." I told him my voice threateningly low.

"I'm not going to let you go." He told me his expression changing to one of determination. I started walking towards him expecting him to move eventually. I was wrong. I thought as he came at me throwing his arms around me.

"You blew it! You stupid sonofabitch." The voice echoed off the walls of the cave as another punch was thrown hitting Aaron right in the jaw. A sickening pop sounded in the back of his head as pain throbbed there. "You wrecked it. I could've been the greatest there was. I could've taken down the whole charmed family" Michael kept going and going only making himself more and more mad landing more punches on Aaron.

"Sir…" Someone began from the gathered creatures standing in front of the entrance.

"Shut up! You want a round too?!" Michael yelled feigning running at the man who coward back with his hands up. Michael stood fixing his clothes back to their proper position. "That's what I thought." He stated smugly. His eyes fell down to Aaron lying on the floor covered in blood.

"Welp, Aaron. I think you've served your purpose to us." He said in a matter of fact manner.

"What? You gonna kill me?" Aaron asked as he sat up. Painfully pushing his body up onto his feet. "Go ahead." He taunted, "If you can."

Michael heaved in a breath of unnecessary air and glared at Aaron. "You have no idea what I was about to do." He let out a breath and continued. "I'm 10 times older than you are. If I'd wanted to ill you. You'd have been dead the moment we went to your house." There was a pause when all of the vampires in the room just stared. "I want that witch, and I want her now."

"Yeah? Good luck with that." Aaron said spitting some blood from his mouth. His wounds were slowly knitting themselves together, his wounds would take longer to heal given that he'd received them from his "awakener". "She's probably home. Surrounded by her family. You wanna fight two sets of Charmed ones. You do that, but it's suicide."

"Oh, I'm not worried about getting to her. I know what her weakness is now." Michael said wearing a disarming smile. "You." He finished with a chuckle. "You're going to go in and get her for me."

Aaron scoffed shaking his head as he leaned tiredly against the rocky wall. "Now, why the hell would I do that?"

Michael seemed to glide over to Aaron, "Because Milford. If you don't do it. I will, and I will attack with everyone we've got I won't stop until I have her and I turn her." At his closeness Aaron stood up right readying for a fight. "And, Aaron. I will make it as painful of an experience as possible for her. Just like I did to you, am I clear?" At that last part he shoved Aaron against the wall hard.

Memories hit him like a brick wall. Flashes of the turning process, how horrible his experience had been in comparison to anything he'd felt. Even after. "Turning is as much a mental process as it is physical. I'm sure you can recall it." Michael said over his shoulder as he walked out of the cave. The vampires clearing a path for the leader. Aaron sighed and slid down to the dirt floor where he stayed catching his breath.
