Hope: KYA!~ I love this chapter!
Sylvette: I know, right?! KYA!~
Zazie: What's with them...?
Hope: Aria, do the disclaimer! You're the only one who hasn't done it.
Aria: Huh? Okay. Mage of Hope doesn't own Tegami Bachi.
"Man, this is great," sighed Zazie, walking through town on his own. Yesterday, they performed the play, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and as a reward, they were allowed a day off, which happened to be today. Connor was off doing his own stuff, and Zazie was just taking a walk around town, wondering what to do.
"Oh no! I better not be too late!" a familiar voice cried. Zazie looked forward and saw Lara in her Letter Bee uniform with Niche running towards the Bee Hive. Apparently, Lara didn't know about them having a day off. Man, she could really be clumsy sometimes.
Zazie grabbed Lara's scarf, thus stopping her and Niche from running. "Oi Lag, what are you doing?" asked Zazie.
Lara stopped to look at Zazie. This was the first time she's seen him wear casual clothing. He wore a black shirt with a dark blue jean jacket over it, jeans, and red sneakers. Lara's cheeks flushed, and she wondered why her heart started beating fast. "Z-zazie! What are you doing here?"
"I'm just walking around town on my day off. Speak of which, the Headmaster said today we could have a day off, remember?" reminded Zazie.
"O-oh? We could? I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't, baka. Well, now that you're here, maybe you, Niche, and I could take a walk together?"
'A-a walk?! But that would be like a date!' thought Lara, her cheeks turning more red. "S-sure!"
"Big Bro Lag, why are your cheeks red?" asked Niche innocently. "Does it hurt? Does Niche need to lick it?"
"Ah, no. I'm fine." As the three of them were walking, Lara walked side by side next to Zazie, and Niche was right behind them. 'Zazie's walking right next to me! Why are my cheeks red, and why is my heart beating so fast?!' thought Lara, confused.
"Hey, why don't we take a break and sit down somewhere?" suggested Zazie, turning to Lara.
"Yeah..."
When they sat on the bench, Niche was in the middle, sitting patiently. Lara was looking down at the ground, fiddling with her thumbs while Zazie looked out the distance, bored. Then, a small white cat approached them and meowed. Lara stood up, surprised and somewhat shaken.
Sensing Lara's fear, Niche immediantly transformed her hair into several golden swords, all pointing towards the cat. "Ah! Niche, you musn't!" pleaded Lara. Niche silently obeyed, turning her hair back to normal.
"What's the big deal, Lag? It's just a cat," said Zazie, smirking. "Or is it that you're scared of cats?"
"M-maybe..." admitted Lara, shyly as she sat down.
'Whoa, really?" Zazie's smirk turned into a shark-toothed grin. "Well, I can erase that fear for you."
"How?" Her question was answered when Zazie picked up the cat and shoved it at her face. "KYA! Z-Zazie! What are you doing?!"
"What does it look like? I'm helping you," replied Zazie, walking towards Lara. "Here, just pet it on the head. That's the first step."
"A-alright..." Very slowly and softly, Lara took off her gloves and petted the cat. However, the cat yowled and scratched her hand with its claws. "Ow!"
After hearing that, Niche aimed her golden haired swords at the cat again, making it her target. "N-niche! No! You musn't!" With that said, Niche calmed down and turned to normal.
Zazie placed the cat down, then kneeled down and grabbed Lara's wrist gently. "Hey, you okay? Sorry, didn't expect that to happen."
"I-it's fine," said Lara, her face cherry red when Zazie grabbed her wrist. Niche came along and started licking Lara's small wound. "N-Niche!"
As soon as Niche stopped licking the wound, Zazie got out a small bandage from his pocket and placed it on the wound. "There. That should do it."
"T-thank you, Zazie," sputted Lara, still flustered.
"No problem," said Zazie. Suddenly, he tripped and accidentally pushed Lara, making her fall down. Zazie tried to get her to stand up, but Lara already grabbed his sleeve, pulling him down with her. When Zazie opened his eyes, he saw Lara's face completely red, and realized he was on top of her.
Before any one of them could say anything, Niche grabbed Zazie by tangling him with her long strains of hair, and pointed golden daggers at him, literally. "Niche! Don't!" pleaded Lara, once again, calming down Niche and making her let go of Zazie.
"Um...sorry about that, Lag," apologized Zazie, his face a bit red.
"I-it's fine," assured Lara, standing up on her own. "I-I think we should continue walking."
"Y-yeah, good idea."
"Lag! Zazie!" called Sylvette, who was coming towards them using her wheelchair. "I've been looking for you! Have you seen Niche?"
"She's right here," said Lara.
"Oh, good! I need her! Why don't you guys enjoy whatever you guys are doing, okay? Bye!" Sylvette grabbed Niche and rode off, dragging her along somewhere, leaving both Letter Bees alone.
"...So, where do you want to go?" asked Zazie.
"I...don't really know," said Lara. Meanwhile, Sylvette and Niche were hiding in some bushes, watching the both of them talk with each other.
"Come on! There has to be a place to go to a date to!" muttered Sylvette. She turned to Niche and said, "Niche, if you don't say anything for a few hours and heave, I won't make that soup for three weeks."
"Okay!" agreed Niche instantly.
"Great! ...Oh! I have a good idea!" Sylvete got out a piece of paper, folded it into paper airplane, and threw it towards Lara, who got hit from behind.
"Ow!" Lara rubbed the back of her head before turning around to see that nobody had thrown something at her. She noticed a paper airplane on the ground and unfolded it before reading it outloud, "'The Annual Flower Festival today! Witness all the flowers around the world, and even the most rarest flowers!'"
"Oh yeah, I forgot that the Annual Flower Festival was today," said Zazie, now remembering. "Why don't we go there?"
"Sure!"
'Yes!' thought Sylvette, now successful as she followed the two Letter Bees with Niche following her as well.
When Zazie and Lara arrived at the area where the festival took place, there were many minigames to play, small shops, food shops, and many, beautiful flowers. The ones in charge of the flower festival was careful not to place flowers that were dangerous, poisonous, or had any deadly effects.
Both Letter Bees played a lot of minigames, but not the ones that include winning a stuffed doll or any girly things in the end. Besides, even though Lara wanted one of them, she couldn't expose a feminine side of her, thus fearing that Zazie might find out she's a girl. While they were having fun, they failed to notice Sylvette and Niche spying on them.
"Kya!~ They're so cute together!" squealed Sylvette to herself, while Niche was just confused.
When they approached the flower shop, Sylvette wondered if Zazie was going to somehow buy Lara flowers. Instead, she saw Lara buy some cute, pink cherry blossoms in a bundle.
"Who are you giving that to?" asked Zazie, confused.
"I'm going to give these to Sylvette! After all, she deserves some flowers," replied Lara.
'No, no, no!' Sylvette wanted to shout. 'Zazie's supposed to give you flowers! Not the other way around! Oh wait, Lara's pretending to be Lag right now, that makes sense.'
"Oh really? Then, I'll buy some flowers for her too," agreed Zazie. "Let's see..."
Just the mention of Zazie giving flowers to Sylvette made Lara's stomach burn inside of her. Lara didn't know why she was mad, but she tried to calm down as her hands trembled with anger.
"Ok...I guess Zazie is buying the flowers, but only for me," muttered Sylvete. "I knew I wanted Zazie to buy flowers, but to Lara-chan instead."
"Zazie! Lag!" called Connor, who was eating some cotton candy. Sylvette silently facepalmed. As if it wasn't enough, Connor had to come along too! This wasn't some sort of date between two friends, it was a group date with three people!
"Oh, Connor? You were here, too?" wondered Lara.
"Yup! I was looking all over for you two, wondering if you guys were at the festival! Um...why are you buying flowers?"
"For Sylvette!"
"Ok, I'll go buy her some, too!" agreed Connor. Sylvette facepalmmed again. Now, she has to get three vases to fit in all the flowers they were going to give her. Speaking of which, she has to get back home soon. If she and Niche didn't, Lara might suspect something.
Later...
"Sylvette! I'm home!" called Lara, opening the door. She went to the kitchen and saw Sylvette cooking dinner, and Niche was sitting at the table. "Sylvette, me, Zazie, and Connor went to some festival and bought you flowers!"
"O-oh! That's nice! Just put them on the table. I'll deal with them later," assured Sylvette.
"Once Lara did, Niche said, "Big Sis Lara! Niche and Sylvette followed you and Zazie to the festival today! Sylvette said that if I behaved and stayed quiet, then we wouldn't eat yucky soup for three weeks!"
Sylvette went paled. She completely forgot to tell Niche to keep that a secret! Now, Lara knows that they were spying on her and Zazie's 'date.'
"W-what?! Sylvette, is that true?!" exclaimed Lara, shocked.
"Um...yes?"
"But why?"
'Well, I wanted to see you and Zazie together! I'm sorry."
Lara sighed. She knew she couldn't stay mad at the girl forever, and knew her reasons. "I guess it's fine..."
"Great! So, let's eat dinner!"
"Is it that soup again?"
"No, no! I have to keep my deal after all! Here, let's eat!" That said, the three girls ate the dinner Sylvette made.
Hope: Yeah, not a very neat ending there, but I ran out of ideas! Anyways, read and review! Oh, and I got help from MoonfireHikari for this!
