Chapter 10: How his majesty copes ( Part 1)

((Sesshomaru POV))

-Flashback-

"Inuyasha!" the miko screamed as Inuyasha feel down to the earth. 'Brother!' Sesshomaru's hand reached out as he grabbed onto Inuyasha's hand. Sesshomaru pulled Inuyasha up into his arms then breathe a sigh of relief with his eyes closed. Sesshomaru's heart was racing. It was strange that for a second there the thought of losing Inuyasha made him scared. It made him fear for his half breed brother.

Sesshomaru pulled Inuyasha into his arm, holding him tightly in an embrace. He was still in a state of panic even though he held Inuyasha in his arms. Sesshomaru was so shocked that he couldn't even smell Inuyasha, feel him, and sense him. It was as though Sesshomaru didn't even catch him. In sesshomaru's mind he saw Inuyasha fall but he grabbed him. Sesshomaru pulled him out of danger before he fell. He saved his brother… but why did his arms feel so empty. Sesshomaru lifted Inuyasha up into his arms and began to leave. 'It was about time they head home, together.'

"It's you entire fault!" the miko's screech pierced Sesshomaru ears and caused them to ring slightly. The damn wench and her screeching, one of these days he was go-.

Before Sesshomaru could continue the sudden lightness in his arms caused him to look down. What he saw, or what he did not see was his half breed brother, Inuyasha. He was gone. When Sesshomaru took a deep breath he realized that he never held Inuyasha.' I never caught him, nor did I ever hold.' The miko's tears could be heard as she spoke to Sesshomaru but all he heard was gibberish. As he tried to figure how he had made the mistake of thinking he'd saved his brother. Why would such an illusion cross his mind? Sesshomaru felt manipulated, he felt as though he had been deceived by his own mind. It had felt so real that not even for a second did he believe that it was a fake illusion. He had truly thought that he had save his brother. Sesshomaru looked down at the ground as a thought passed through his head. 'Well why, should I care.'

"All he wanted was you; all he ever wanted was you! All Inuyasha wanted was for you to save him. He's your brother." The miko's words finally reached Sesshomaru's brain and he processed what she was saying. Inuyasha wanted him to catch him. Sesshomaru was shocked to get this knowledge than angry. 'He expected me to save him.' Sesshomaru was furious. 'Who does that filthy half-breed thinks he is. Messing with this Sesshomaru's head like that' Sesshomaru's began to feel cold, Ice cold. He wanted to kill Inuyasha, but he was already dead.

"How pathetic," Sesshomaru said in response to what she had said. He was angry how that stupid wench dare try to scold him. He should kill her. "To expect that I, Sesshomaru, would save him, my filthy half-brother, don't make me laugh." Sesshomaru didn't turn around; instead he continued to walk away and left the area.

-Flashback ends-

Slowly golden eyes opened to the sun light from an open window. Beads of sweat drenched his entire body as he sat up from his tired slumber. He had barely slept the night before and when he did he dreamt about that half breed. Sesshomaru's wet hair stuck to his face and neck in messy disarray as he ran his hand through his hair but gave up when he only felt knots. Sesshomaru lay back down on his bed gracefully. Sesshomaru did not know what time it was and quite frankly he did not care to find out. His muscles ached indicating that Sesshomaru had slept longer then he had intended. Sesshomaru laid his arm on his forehead and looked up at the ceiling.

'Inuyasha… dead?' even as he said it didn't seem real. Sesshomaru thought that the death of that disgrace of a half-breed brother of his would make him feel…feel... well Sesshomaru never thought about how he would feel if Inuyasha was dead. Perhaps he thought he would feel enlightened. Whatever Sesshomaru thought he would feel at the absence of his half breed brother definitely isn't what Sesshomaru was feeling now. Closing his eyes he thought about what had happened and how to react to it. Was it about time to make a public announcement? Would anyone even care if he did?

"Are you happy?" the voice was thunderously loud though it was angry, but sad. Sesshomaru didn't bother opening his eyes, he knew who it was. He recognized the so familiar voice way to well.

It was his father, Inutaisho, the man who so foolishly impregnated a human then died protecting the women and her child, her child, Inuyasha… dead Inuyasha.

"Are you happy, Sesshomaru?" Inutaisho asked again. When he spoke his disappointment hurt Sesshomaru to a high degree. He hayed Inutaisho for that, being the only man that could hurt him. He hated it to a very high degree.

"Why are you here, father?" Sesshomaru asked. He did not want to deal with his father at the moment. He just wanted to rest and think about how address most of the problems he had to deal with when he got out of his room. Sesshomaru also did not wish to deal with his father's disappointment. Sesshomaru heard the sigh of annoyance come from his father.

"You disappoint me," Sesshomaru scoffed. He could guess exactly what it was that he disappointed his father in. Sesshomaru sat up and looked at his father. His expression was void of emotions and so was his bod language. His father on the other hand seemed to be radiating with emotions, sadness, anger, disappointment, pain. Taisho's skin seemed to glow with youth, sweet angry youth. Something only a royal shiro inu possessed. His eyes were like two suns while his colored jagged marking on his cheek that made his face skin tone look pale in contrast.

"Tell me, father, how exactly did I disappoint you?" Sesshomaru asked his father. Inutaisho began to make his way closer to Sesshomaru's bed before he sat down on the far edge.

"You disappoint me because of how you neglect your duties as alpha of the royal shiro inu's." Sesshomaru's expression did not change. Inutaisho seemed to get annoyed by that. "It's about time you stopped acting like a child about Inuyasha's birth and except the fact that Inuyasha was born. I did not raise a brat." Inutaisho finished. Sesshomaru felt himself snap.

"How dare a dead man tell me to except that abomination as my sibling? I have always wished death upon him and it has happened. In answer to your previous question, taisho, I am over joyed that the filthy half breed is dead." Sesshomaru growled with malice.

The shiro inu's known for their short temper sent an electric fuse of yokai throughout the whole castle. Inutaisho was furious that even after all that had happened Sesshomaru remained stubborn to the end. Sesshomaru's anger boiled with the thought that his father had actually believed he would begin to care for the half-breed. All in all the inu's yokai's flared in animosity

"That filthy half-breed is my son! That filthy half breed is you brother! Sesshomaru remember that! How dare you wish death upon Inuyasha, Sesshomaru?" Eyes glowing, the angry Daiyokai daddy grabbed Sesshomaru by the neck and slammed him into the nearby wall. The obvious 'man handle' made the alpha, Sesshomaru, angry. As an alpha Sesshomaru felt only was his pride dishonored but his position was threatened. Inutaisho was pushing Sesshomaru to a corner and ordering him so submit, just like he used to do when Sesshomaru was a pup. As an adult Daiyokai who was in fact an alpha he felt as though his father was disregarding his authority and position, and honor. That thought by its self-caused Sesshomaru to push against his father, shoving him from his person.

"I do not acknowledge that filth as my sibling! And I shall never will," he vowed. Eyes glowing Sesshomaru stared straight at his father, eye contact never faltering. The hardened glare of the Inu-Daiyokai papa eyes softened is sorrow as he slowly began to fade away. His lips parted as his fare-well was said, his face was facing the ground as he spoke.

"Well son I had hoped you would, for me at least." And then he was gone. Sesshomaru was confused by his father's last words.
