All I Wanted Was A Car

A selection of Wincest drabbles inspired by my favourite country artist, Brad Paisley

"When I finally got that big hunk of steel

Those four wheels under me

I went everywhere in it

Broke the speed limit

And I even broke in the back seat"

The day John left Dean with the Impala should really have been a 'Big Moment'. But it wasn't. All Dean knew was suddenly his Dad had been gone for a few days too long and left the car in Dean's possession.

And as soon as he'd picked up Sam, the worry started to dissipate. For a while, at least, who cared where his Dad was? He had his brother and his – his! – car on the open road. He'd taken drives in it before, hell he'd just come all the way to Stanford, but there was something about having his brother in the shotgun seat beside him which made the moment complete.

The only thing ruining it was Sam's bitch face.

Sam quite obviously would rather be anywhere else than stuck in the car from his childhood, surrounded by fake IDs, take out wrappers and old rock tapes. But there was something about Dean's optimism that was contagious; something about his smile which crawled under Sam's skin and warmed him from the inside.

And then there was that all-consuming adrenaline boost from destroying the Woman in White, until that warmth beneath his skin became a heat, and Dean's smile became a temptation, and Dean had pulled the car over in the dark without a word before taking Sam's head in his hands and claiming the younger boy's mouth with his own.

In that moment Dean's car was a sanctuary, and the brothers were lovers, and the search for their father was abandoned completely as the boys moved into the back seat to make memories that would last forever.
