"It has to be Rose" Dave explains as the two men ran ahead leaving Jake a Dirk to walk back themselves at whatever pace they please.
"Wait what why wouldn't Jade not tell us about Rose coming to visit? that makes no sense." John questions causing Dave to sigh and stop.
"I never told you this but when we were in one of our last years of college I had this massive rager, the one that you couldn't make it to cause you were sick."
"Oh right I remember that was the worst I was really sick."
"Yeah well anyways Rose and I got drunk off our ass's like totally plastered and we ended up having sex. The next day we made up and decided that it was just a big mistake and made up but we never really talked again after that."
"That would totally make sense if Jade would want to keep you guys apart."
"Yeah.. I just wish things could go back to they were before when we could all just chill the hell out and not give a shit about the past."
"You know I'm sure it's not too late if you talk to Rose I'm sure you can put that silly drunken mistake behind you that was what 16 years ago that's a long time not to talk because of a drunken mistake." John kisses Dave's cheek "come on lets go fix things." They run the rest of the way to Jades house.
"Are you boys back already? Did something happen are you ok?" Jade asks from the dining room.
"Yeah." Dave replies stepping into the dining room where Rose, Jade, Rose's friend (well he's guessing she's more than that now) Kanaya and a girl around Dirks age that he didn't recognize
"Hello Dave. Rose stated calmly."
"Hey Rose," he replied "who's that?" he asked issuing towards the young lady"
"She doesn't look familiar?" she questions with snark in her voice.
"Is she supposed to?" he asked rolling his eyes tired of the mind games she was trying to pull.
"well I very much hope so Dave she's your daughter."
