If ben had to take a wild guess he would've said that, yeah, he knew jimmy wouldn't be happy to see that he had followed him out of camp. Which is the reason he had decided to stay a fairly great distance away from jimmy as he trailed behind him.
When he honed in on the younger man he could scent out his despair, his burning frustration and sadness. It was ten times more pungent than it had been when he had...kept his eyes on jimmy as he entered and exited the information's tent so he just kept following him; even as he ran out of camp.
Yeah, it was, weird. Or completely out of bounds for him to be following jimmy but he had to. He had to make sure the younger boy didn't do anything else rash or harmful to himself. Which is why he found himself relieved when he watched jimmy stop outside of a old looking comfort inn . He had to slow down his speed on his motobike so the sound wouldnt attrack any unwanted attention.
Not that it would change the reaction he was sure he would receive from jimmy. Which was anger.
He had barely walked towards the brunet before jimmy was standing next to the motobike, pushing him into it making him fall over and proceeded to shout at him.
"ben, what the fuck are you doing here!?"
He had expected anger. An outburst. So he was mildly prepared to deal with jimmys tyrant.
As he picked himself up he couldn't help the slight smirk that tugged at his lips to see how physically upset jimmy was. The heavy pink flush to his pale cheeks and the sheen of perspiration on his hairline; reminding him very much of the jimmy he knew before. The snarky, exceedingly sarcastic little shit that stole his heart. Not the crying, broken one he had created.
They get into it like an old married couple outside of the Comfort Inn. And ben won't lie and say that it doesn't bring an odd sense of satisfaction. Feeling like a couple, though jimmy is pushing him against the bike over and over again telling him that he's done. That they're over.
Which he had already accepted. He's accepted it since the day in jimmys' room when he began taking his clothes off. Using his body to try and get ben to touch him. Damning everything and everyone else to hell. He hated that.
At that moment he had decided that even if he couldn't be with jimmy he was going to at least try and set things right.
And it was clear that jimmy needed closure over the situation that had happened between them. Closure for his family; something that he never dealt with.
jimmy needs closure and ben knows that only he can give it to him.
And then he gets smacked. And it actually hurts. Like a fiery sting across his face. And then jimmy yells at him to stay away as he storms off into the Inn.
Which ben is definitely gonna follow him into.
jimmy is fuming and incredibly annoyed that ben followed him. He had simply wanted time to himself. Time to recuperate, pull himself together and then in time return back to the second mass fully rested to take on the bullshit the aliens threw at him. Unfortunately some of the most recent bullshit was waiting out-well no, it was walking inside the Inn and standing beside him. He turned his body away from the blond Hybrid and leaned closer into the counter; swearing to himself that he wouldn't create another argument. He wasn't a child anymore.
After looking around the Inn to make sure there was no danger he went to the front desk for a room key and escaping away from ben; jimmy found the room and flopped onto the bed. Running over his entire day and his surprisingly spontaneous approach to his issues he had taken. Which didn't end in him harming himself.
Progress.
jimmy smiled to himself and was about to look around for something to eat when there was a knock on the door.
"Go away ben!"
When the knocking continued jimmy groggily lifted himself from the bed and to the room door. All the fight gone from his body. "ben what do y-"
There was no one standing outside of the door; this worried jimmy greatly, digging into his jean pocket for a small knife; the only weapon he had on him pria to leaving his gun back at camp.
"ben.. is that you?" jimmy asked eyes darting left and right down the long empty hallways
jimmy whipped around when he heard the knocking again. Coming from inside his room.
Nearing the far corner of the room was a door. Besides the dusty television, jostling with the knocks coming from it.
No way.
jimmy rushed over to the door and opened it finding exactly what he had hoped wasn't the case.
"We're connected...apparently" ben laughed from the other side of the door, which connected to his own room.
Fuck.
