Don't hate me…this is not a chapter update…but hold on at the end I'll give you a sneak peek at the next chapter at the end of this note…
So, for starters, I want to say that I have NOT given up! I am working on the next chapter right now. Part of the challenging part is I'm also trying to write simple fun kid like spells that the boys are doing and I want them to make sense and semi sound like real spells (so rhyme; like they do in the movies) but this can be difficult and time consuming. I also hit a little bit of a writing block combined with a mountain of papers, projects, reports for school and a large caseload for work.
However, as of Monday I am officially halfway through my MSW program and have a few weeks off until class starts again so my goal is to at least post one chapter during that time!
In the meantime, I've uploaded some images and will be switching out the cover of my story hopefully once a week. The first picture is of Jason and Jamie (Jamie on the left and Jason on the Right). Next I will post a picture of Melody, Jay and Lonnie's daughter.
I found pictures that I feel match (to the best the I can find) what I picture when I think about these characters. There are some features I might change but I can't draw or else I would draw my interpretation but alas I cannot, so I am left with what google images can provide.
I found these images on the internet: I don't own them, I didn't take them and I don't claim them. I just feel like these represent my characters the best (to which I can find).
~SNEAK PEEK~
Mal woke to a little hand in her face. She grimaced and gently pulled the little fingers away from her eyes, allowing her to see the sight next to her causing her to smile. Her oldest son, Jason, was curled up on top of Ben, his chest on Ben's chest, his arm that wasn't in a cast stretched up holding onto Ben's shirt. Jamie, the little culprit that had tried to take her eyes out in her sleep, was tucked up close to her side, his other hand that wasn't clawing her eyes out, was holding her hair in a vice-like grip. Ben, her lovely beast, was snoring slightly, almost a growl like sound, mouth slightly open, one hand on Jason's back the other stretch out slightly touching Mal's shoulder. She gently pried Jamie's hand off her and slipped out, being very cautious not to wake Ben and the boys. They needed their rest desperately. Chief and Ranger had moved to the foot of the bed after the boys' nightmares the night before and she scratched at their ears to wake them up. She quickly and quietly got them up and into the hallway where a castle staff offered to take them outside. Mal thanked the maid turned to go back to her room. She grabbed her clothes and headed towards the bathroom. About ten minutes later she stepped out to find Ben and Jason still sleeping, but Jamie was awake sitting up in bed, hair tousled and messy from sleep.
"Hey baby boy." Mal said sweetly and softly, walking over to him, soothing some of his hair down gently. Jamie yawned and rubbed at his eyes then reached for his mother to pick him up. Mal lifted him up into her arms and realized that the boys really needed a bath, but Ben and Jason really needed to sleep so she was going to just take care of Jamie's bath for now and whenever Jason woke up they would get him taken care of.
"Alright my little stinky boy, let's go get you in the bathtub, does that sound fun? We can have lots and lots of bubbles! You can do that new spell you learned, does that sound fun?"
"Yay! Bath time! Bubbles! I want lots of bubbles mommy!" Jamie yelled and bounced in Mal's arms. Mal laughed and smiled at her baby.
"Then lots of bubbles you shall have!" Mal answered, tweaking her son's nose and entering the boys' shared bathroom. She set Jamie on one of the fluffy yellow rugs and pulled off his pj t-shirt and tossed it into the boys' hamper. Mal started the water, checked the temperature and turned to her son.
"Aright buddy, let's see you practice that spell." Mal said motioning towards the tub with one hand. Jamie grinned and shot both hands towards the water and called out,
"Just a dash, splish, splash, bubbles in a bath!" Immediately, bubbles started foaming from the water and covering the water's surface and rising towards the edge. Just before Mal thought they would flow over, they stopped. Mal grinned wider and turned toward her son.
"Oh my goodness Jamie! That was excellent! Look at you! Perfection! Well done! I'm so proud of you!" Mal showered Jamie with praise and hugged him close. Jamie beamed at her and giggled. Wand-less magic was so fun and he loved being able to do it and have control over it as well.
"Thank you, mommy!" Mal smiled and kissed her on his nose.
"Now let's get you in the tub and get you washed up, sound good?" Jamie nodded and Mal whisked his pj shorts down and tossed them in the hamper as well then lifted and plopped the boy into the now warm water filled with bubbles. As mother and the youngest Prince were playing and laughing the King and the oldest Prince were slowly starting to stir.
