Yugioh! Zexal: Eternal Chosen
Chapter 10- Xavier's Past

I hope you all enjoy! This will be one of two updates. Oh, and I messed up my reviewer's name. The one that gave me his OC, Yamato. It's yamato2706. Sorry about that bro.

Last Time…

A new student named Yamato Takahashi tried to enroll in Heartland High School, but had to duel Keenan in order to enroll. But Vestal and Kalka appeared, messing up everything and instead dueled Yamato. Vestal proved to be a match for the Dragon duelist and cut the duel short, saying Keenan will be defeated and then disappeared with Kalka. The next day, Keenan agreed to let Yamato hang out with him and his friends.

"Let me go! Let me go! My daddy's still in there! Let me goooo!" A young Xavier screamed.

"I'm sorry little buddy, but we have to get you to safety." A police officer said.

"My daddy's still in there! There's a bomb! He'll get hurt!"

Far away from where the bomb is, the officer kneeled to Xavier. "Xavier, there's a bomb in there."

"I know that! I have to save my daddy!" Xavier tried to run, but the officer stopped him. "It's too dangerous! Your daddy will save everyone."

"But what if he doesn't get out! My daddy's all I have!"

"Don't worry," The officer said with a smile. "Your daddy will return to you." But both males' eyes widened in fear as they suddenly heard an explosion nearby. They looked up and the building that had the bomb was in rubble. "DADDY!" Xavier screamed at the top of his lungs, trying to run to find his daddy, but the officer stopped him.

Deep in you(The scene opens up to Keenan Serpentine, who's waking up and heading outside)

How to find the strength inside? (A shadowed figure, revealed the be Kalka, appears before the walking Keenan and Keenan activates his Duel Disk)

It challenges you

Taking all that you can find(Keenan is losing, but a Xavier, with a silhouetted warrior, appears in front of Keenan and puts its hand on Keenan's shoulder, giving him strength)

It's alright, trust in yourself

So come on, it's because you've come this far (Kalka disappears and Keenan and Xavier run forward)

It's waiting for you (A whirlwind strikes the ground in front of them, stopping them. Keenan looks behind him and sees Harper and Harpie Lady, behind her)

You must raise yourself above and touch the sky (Five shadowy figures then appear, stopping Keenan and his friends)

The dreams we see so far (Keenan imagines dueling a silhouetted woman and smiles)

Together makes us who we are (Harper and Xavier stand behind Keenan in support)

So don't let go, you know we're almost there(It begins to rain and Keenan, dueling the five figures, with an silhouetted beast-warrior in front of him, reaches for his Life Point counter, trying to give up. But another Blake appears and smiles, and points to the sky where a gigantic silhouetted machine appears and shot at the figures with its gun-like weapon)

I see you, endless gazing up to the sky, wondering why (Something causes Keenan to look up to the sky and an image of a woman smiling appears. A hand touches his shoulder and he looks back to see just a glimpse of a spirit of a woman before she disappears)

And you feel you can't go on, but you know this isn't the end (Keenan smiles and with his friends' support, he causes the five figures to disappear and the three continue to run)

So come on, it's a lie when shaking in fear(As they're running, a silhouette of a little kid with a silhouetted monster flying with her and a silhouetted boy with a silhouetted armored monster joins them, but the ground in front of them then rumbles and from it emerges Blue Eyes White Dragon, with Vestal, standing on top of it)

You're fooling yourself(Keenan gets knocked back, but his friends encourage him to get back up. Yamato, with Red Eyes Black Dragon, appears and begins fighting the silhouetted opponent. Keenan yells, and with Red Eyes' Black Dragon's support, the silhouetted figure disappears)

It is true you'll never run away from here(The seven friends continue to run and the sun comes out and they stop. Keenan draws the top card of his deck and raises it to the sky as a shadowed beast-warrior appears and he and his friends' monsters stand behind their respective owners)

Xavier woke up, panting. "No…not that dream again." Xavier looked over to his alarm clock and saw that it read 9:00 am. His eyes widened. "Oh crap! I'm so late to school!" Xavier jumped up out of bed and rushed to get ready.

10 minutes later, he ran downstairs and grabbed his Duel Disk. "Hey, where are you going?" A female voice said. "I'm late for school mom! I'll see you later!"

"School? Aren't you forgetting something?"

"Forgetting something? No, I got my school stuff, my Duel Disk, my deck and my gazer." Xavier grabbed the doorknob, twisting it. "Son, you're forgetting that it's Saturday." Xavier stopped, surprised. He turned around. "Uh…what?"

"Hehe. It's Saturday honey. There's no school."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Are you okay? You never make that mistake."

"Oh…well, I had that dream again mother."

"The dream? It's been 8 years since the incident." Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and Xavier opened it. He frowned as he looked at the police officer standing in the doorway. The police officer smiled. "Hey Xavier. How are you?"

"Yeah, whatever. What do you want?"

"Xavier! Now, that isn't the way to talk to the man who got you away from danger." Xavier's mother said.

"But he's the one who took me away! I could have saved dad!"

"But at what cost!?"

"Ha-ha. It's okay. I do understand where he's coming from." The officer said.

"Then what do you want?"

"Well, I was going to see how you were doing."

"How do you think? I'm fine. Later." Xavier waved goodbye to his mother and walked out, shoving the officer as he did. "Xavier!" His mother yelled. But the officer kept his smile. "No, no. It's really okay. He went through a tough week when his father died in that store explosion."

"But he shouldn't take it out on you. You saved him."

"He's just a kid. Don't worry, I'm fine with it. So, other than he acted just now, how has he been?"

Xavier was taking a walk when Keenan ran up to him. "Hey man! What's going on?"

"Nothing." Xavier said in a snooty attitude.

"Whoa…what's wrong with you bro?"

"Nothing. Why are you bothering me?"

"What? I was-I was just saying hi."

"Well, hi. Bye." Xavier walked faster, with Keenan stopping in shock.

Xavier was at the park, sitting on a bench with Keenan walked up and saw with him. "…Um, hey."

"Look, listen Keenan. I'm sorry for yelling at you Keenan."

"Huh? Oh, no. Don't worry about it."

"But it's not okay. I've just been…upset today."

"Today? What do you mean, it's only 9:30."

"No. Today's…today's the 8th year anniversary of my father's death."

"Oh yeah."

"Y-yeah. It was the worst day of my entire life." A memory started playing.

A young Xavier was running through the streets. It was a dark and stormy night and it was running. Xavier was clutching something in his hand. "Come back here kid!" A male yelled. Xavier looked over his shoulder and saw the male gaining. Xavier ran faster and ran into an alley. The male caught up with Xavier. "Xavier, please. You have to stop. Give back that medicine!"

"No! My dad is sick and I need to give him this medicine so he doesn't leave me!"

"Xavier, our doctors are doing everything they can. We don't know how effective that medicine is! It might not work!"

"I don't care! My father is dying and I have to save him!"

"Xavier, trust me. They're doing everything they can!"

"They're not trying hard enough! If they were, my father would be okay!"

"I'm sorry Xavier, but you have to give back that medicine!"

"No!" Xavier grabbed a fistful of mud and threw it at the officer's face, temporary blinding him. "Ahh! Xavier!" Xavier took this chance to take off and run away. "Xavier! Come back! Xavier!"

"Wow…so your father was sick?"

"Yeah."

"But that wasn't how he died, was it?"

"…."

"Xavier?"

"…No. Listen, I don't really want to dwell on it, so let's not, okay?"

"Um, okay. Sorry."

"It's not your fault." As the two talked, they decided to walk to the mall. The two friends arrived at the Heartland Mall and walked in. "Hey, there's Yamato!" Keenan said before running up to him. Xavier caught up with the two. "Hey, Yamato!" Keenan said.

"Hey, it's you. Keenan, right?"

"Yeah."

"Cool. So what about a duel?"

"A duel?"

"Yeah. I came here to buy new cards. I was going to try to duel lots of people!"

"Ooh! What about a tag-team!?"

"We'll be unstoppable!" Yamato said with a squeak. Xavier frowned and started walking off. "Hey! Xavier, where are you going?" Keenan asked.

"Nowhere. Later."

"His father dying really shook him."

"What's wrong with Xavier, Keenan?" Yamato asked.

"Nothing. Come on, let's get some new cards."

"Alright! Then, it's duel time!" The two friends took off towards the card shop.

Blake was walking in a clothing store with money in his hand, but mumbling to himself. "I can't believe I have to buy dad some new underwear. Why can't he buy his own underwear?!" Blake looked to his left and saw a crimson-colored hair girl walk in. He smiled. "Well, as long as I'm here, I don't see why I can't any 'fun'." Blake walked over to the dressing rooms stood on the seat. Being tall enough with the support, he was able to look over the wall. He saw the crimson-haired girl getting undressed. "Hehe." He pulled out a camera and readied it. But the crimson-haired girl turned around and Blake gasped. "What?! I-it's….it's Harper!" Harper looked up at Blake and gasped, covering herself. "Blake?! AHHHH!" Blake's nose bled and he collapsed.

Blake woke up to a group of people surrounding him. "H-huh? W-what happened?" Blake quickly held his head in pain. "O-ow! W-what was that?"

"You jerk!" Harper, fully clothed, yelled, walking up. A big bump grew on Blake's head. "What did you do that for Harper!?"

"Because you saw me naked, you perv!"

"Shhh! Keep it down!"

"Why should I? You don't want anyone knowing you're a pervert?!"

"Harper, shh! I will do anything if you will just shut-up!"

"Hmph…"

"Is this boy bothering you ma'am?" A security guard, appearing, said. Harper looked at Blake, who was looking scared. She smiled and shook her head. "No, it's nothing. Thank you."

"No problem ma'am." The guard walked away along with everyone else.

"That wasn't funny Harper!" Blake yelled.

"That's what you get for spying on me!"

"I didn't know that was you!"

"Who else do you know has crimson hair?"

"…whatever. I'm out of here."

"Wait. You can't be mad."

"Well, I am. Later." Blake walked away and Harper shrugged and walked off.

Xavier was at school, in the gym, practicing his free-throws. But he kept on missing them. "Oh come on! I shouldn't be missing!" Xavier grabbed another basketball from the rack and shot it, but it missed. Xavier grabbed another one and threw it at the wall in anger. "Argg! Why did he have to leave me?! He said he never would!" Xavier grabbed the last ball on the rack and tried to slam it down in anger, but a pair of hands touched the ball. "K-Keenan!? Yamato!?"

"Hey man. You seem upset." Yamato said, unaware of what was really wrong.

"It's about your dad, huh?" Keenan speculated.

"Yeah."

"What happened? I only know your father died and that you stole some medicine to try to help him."

"Well…" A memory started playing.

A young Xavier was swinging on a swing on his school's playground with one of his friends. The friend smiled. "Hey Xavier, I bet if I swing back enough, I could jump super far!"

"Do it! Wait, I'll do it!" Xavier started swinging back and forth, faster and faster. "Almost fast enough!" Xavier swung back and forth one more time before he jumped out of the swing, traveling far and landing on his feet. The friend ran over to a spot in the ground where there was a mark and smiled. "Xavier! You jumped so far! Look at this!" The friend picked up the stick that was used for a marker and held it up with a smile. "You beat your own jump!"

"Aw yeah! I knew I could!"

"I suck! I couldn't even beat you before!"

"Aw, don't worry. Hey, you want to get a Capri Sun?"

"I love Capri Sun! Come on!" The two friends were about to leave, but a teacher walked up to Xavier, with a frown on her face. "Hey Xavier."

"Hi Ms. Jane." Ms. Jane looked at Xavier, who had a big smile on him, and frowned. "Listen. I have some bad news."

"Bad news? What do you mean, Ms. Jane?"

Xavier ran through the streets as fast as he could with tears running down his cheeks. "Daddy! I'm coming! Just hang on daddy!" Xavier kept running and arrived at a hospital and rushed in. "Ms.! My daddy's here! Where is he!?"

"It's okay. Just calm down. What's your father's name?"

"Joseph Stone."

"Joseph Stone?" The receptionist asked as she flipped through papers before stopping on a page. "Oh yes. Mr. Stone. That's your dad?"

"Yes. Why? What happened to him!?"

"Well…."

"Tell me!"

"Xavier!" A voice yelled. Xavier turned and ran to the source and hugged her. "Mommy!"

"Xavier! Did you run all the way from school? You shouldn't have done that!"

"But mommy! Daddy's in the hospital. But I don't know why."

"I know honey. Ma'am, where is Joseph Stone?"

"In room 232, on the 3rd floor." The receptionist said.

"Thank you. Let's go honey." The mother and Xavier made their way to Joseph's room with Xavier gasping and running to his side. "Daddy!"

"Hey son."

"Are you okay?!"

"Yeah. I'm just sick."

"How? What do you have?"

"They told me I had this virus-like disease."

"Virus? Disease?"

"It'll be okay. The doctor said it can be cured. But…"

"But what?"

"We don't have the medicine."

Xavier's mother gasped. "We don't?"

"Well, the doctors are immediately working on it. Once they find a cure, I'll get it. Don't worry you two," Joseph said with a weak smile. "I'll be okay."

"No! I can't lose you daddy!" Joseph chuckled and sat up, though he struggled to. He motioned Xavier over to him and he gave him a kiss on the forehead. "Xavier, if you ever have to trust me, it'd be right now. We just have to wait." But Xavier jerked his father off and ran out the door crying. "Xavier!" His mother called. "Don't worry dear," Joseph said with a smile. He, struggling to do so, lay back in his bed. "Can you blame him?" Joseph sighed. "But don't worry; I'll be okay. Can you go check on him?"

"Yeah." The mother turned to the door, but was stopped by Joseph. "Don't be harsh on him." He said. Not saying anything else, the mother walked out and began looking for Xavier.

Xavier was sitting on a bench outside the hospital and was dribbling a basketball. The mother walked up and sat down next to him. "Are you okay honey?"

"…Why did dad have to get sick? Why him?"

"But honey, everybody gets sick. I get sick, you get sick, dad gets sick. It's natural. But we have so many smart doctors that are making a cure for this disease."

"I thought it was a virus?"

"Well, they're figuring it out now. If it's a disease, I can promise that daddy will get better." Xavier started swinging his feet back and forth. His mother gasped. Whenever Xavier swung his feet back and forth, he'd always cry. And it was no different now: Xavier started to cry. "But mommy, what it's not a disease? What if what daddy has is a virus?" Xavier was shocked and stopped crying when his mother did the same thing his father did: kiss him on the forehead. "Listen sweetie. Daddy will get better. And then we all can go get some ice cream."

"Ice cream?"

"Yes." Xavier wiped the tears from his eyes and nodded. "Okay."

"Come on, let's head back." The two headed back inside.

"So your father never got better?" Yamato asked.

"No, he got better, but…"

"The incident happened that next day; yesterday, 8 years ago." Keenan finished.

"Yeah." Xavier said.

"What happened?"

"I don't know who, but I know what." Another memory started playing in Xavier's head.

Having been told to go home, Xavier and his mother did so. It had been a couple of days and there was a knock on the door. Xavier's mother walked to the door and opened it. She smiled. "Hello."

"Hello. Mrs. Stone?"

"Yes. May I ask your presence here?"

"Well, it is about your husband Joseph." Gasping, Mr. Stone called Xavier down from his room. When he came down, he and she sat down on the couch while the visitor sat down across from them in a chair. "So, I have great news. But I also have bad news."

"Oh no…what is it?" Mrs. Stone asked. The visitor, a doctor, the lead doctor, crossed his legs and kept his frown. "Okay. I'll start with the great news. What your father has is Brucellosis. He will have to take antibiotics for a few weeks, but your father will be okay." Taking a massive sigh of relief, Mrs. Stone and Xavier smiled. "That is fantastic!" She cried. Xavier jumped up and started dancing around, crying in happiness. But when the lead doctor said "But there still is the bad news", Mrs. Stone and Xavier both stopped. "Excuse me?" She asked.

"Ahem…well…the bad news is that the antibiotics will cause a few hundred dollars. $400 to be exact."

"$400!? But I don't have $400!" Mrs. Stone cried.

"Well, if we can't treat him, then serious body problems will arise."

"Then what can we do?!" Xavier cried out.

"I don't know sweetie."

"Well, I just wanted to come and tell you what we found out." The lead doctor stood up and headed to the door. Mrs. Stone followed and shook his hand. "Thank you. I'll call the hospital when we figure out what to do."

"Okay. I hope everything goes well."

"Thank you." The lead doctor gave a smile and walked out, shutting the door afterwards.

"Mom, we have to do something!" Xavier said.

"I know. Let's go to the hospital." Mrs. Stone went and got her purse, and the two headed to the hospital.

The two arrived at the hospital and headed to Joseph's room. Luckily, he was awake, and he sat up. He smiled. "Hi honey. Hi son."

"Joseph, they want $400 for the antibiotics!" Joseph closed his eyes and sighed. He kept them closed for a few seconds before he opened them. "I know." Just then, a doctor holding a bottle walked in. "Hello everyone. Have we decided to get the antibiotics?"

"We just don't have the money." Mrs. Stone said with great disappointment.

"No! I won't let my father die!" Xavier surprised everyone when he snatched the medicine bottle from the doctor's hand and sprinted out of the room. "Xavier!" Joseph yelled. "What's going on!?" A police officer asked as he ran into the room. "My son! He ran off with the medicine bottle!"

"He did? I'll go get him!" The police ran off after Xavier.

"Then that's when he caught up with you in the streets." Keenan said.

"Yeah."

"But…that doesn't explain how your father died." Yamato said.

"Oh yeah…." Another memory began in Xavier's head.

Hours later, after escaping the police officer and being by himself, Xavier headed back to the hospital only to be surprised to see his dad standing up. "D-dad!? What are you doing up!? You should be resting!" Joseph motioned Xavier to walk over to him. He did and tousled his hair. "I had some emergency money stored up, so I gave him it and I got the medicine. Of course, I have to take them for a few weeks, but I'll be better in no time!"

"I'm…I'm so glad!" Xavier cried as he hugged his father. "Come on you two. Let's head home." The three said goodbye to the doctors and, after Joseph filled out some paperwork, they left the hospital."

"Wow! That's so cool your father got better." Yamato said with a smile.

"Yeah. But he was just killed that afternoon. It was in a store explosion." Yamato covered his mouth in shock.

"Yeah. Look, I'm going to go to his grave. I'll see you guys later." Xavier stood up and shot the basketball in his hand. It made the basket and he walked out, leaving Keenan and Yamato surprised.
