It was 2 in the afternoon and James was still in bed. He was staring up at the ceiling and contemplating on how to tell Logan he was a prostitute when said man walked in.
"Are you feeling okay?" Logan asked, putting his hand against James' forehead. "You don't feel hot."
"But I look hot, right?" The escort grinned, pulling Logan into his arms.
Logan scrunched up his nose and shook his head. "Not entirely."
"At least I have friends." James huffed.
The billionaire gaped and James laughed, his problems washing away momentarily. Logan leaned in and placed a soft kiss against James' lips.
"I have you and that's all I need." The billionaire whispered.
James' heart stopped beating in his chest. This was the first time one of them verbally conveyed their feelings for the other. The past couple of days have only been glances and touches. And although those made James feels things, nothing's made him feel the way those words did. They weren't exactly 'I love you' but they held the same significance and James was suddenly finding it hard to breathe. Here Logan was actually expressing his feelings and here James was being a coward. He had to tell Logan. He had to. The only reason relationships fail is because people keep secrets, right?
What did James know? He's never been in a serious relationship but he's seen it happen in every single movie he could name.
The escort finally swallowed and looked at Logan. The billionaire was already looking back at him with a fond smile.
"Did I just scare the shit out of you?" Logan asked.
"No…" James frowned.
"I'm not expecting you to say anything back, James." The billionaire said softly. "I'm ready for this and if you're not, it's okay. I have all the time in the world."
"We actually only have, like, 2 weeks." James muttered.
"What?"
"Nothing." The escort said hastily. "Thanks for understanding."
Logan kissed his forehead. "Are you sure you're okay?"
James nodded and wrapped his arms around Logan's waist. "With you near me, everything's alright."
"That was cheesy."
"Not as cheesy as the smile you're wearing."
Logan's smile just grew and he dipped his head in the juncture of James' neck. He felt Logan place a gentle kiss against his shoulder.
"I like your cheesy smile, dimples." James couldn't help but blurt out.
Logan pulled away, grinning from ear to ear. "You better because it's only in place whenever you're around."
"Are we seriously going to be one of those cheesy couples?"
Logan's smile faltered and he immediately went serious. "Are we a couple?"
We will be if you don't end up hating me.
"Aren't we?"
"Are you really capable of a commitment, James?" Logan asked hesitantly.
James reached forward and brushed away a piece of hair from Logan's face and looked into his brown eyes.
"I didn't think I was before I met you." James answered honestly. "But for you I'm willing to make it work."
And he meant it. If they get passed this whole Darren bullshit James will stay committed to Logan. Yeah, it will be hard as fuck but who else did he need when he had Logan? The answer was no one. The only person he wanted and needed for the rest of his life was on top of him, staring into his eyes.
Logan leaned in and unexpectedly kissed James, hard. The escort laughed into Logan's mouth and flipped him over so now he was the one on top. James deepened the kiss and Logan nipped at his bottom lip for entry. Their tongues slid into each other while Logan's hands went to fist James' hair and James' hands went to playing with the waistband of Logan's boxers.
"I have to go to work." Logan murmured.
"Why didn't you go this morning?" James asked, pulling away and starting to undo Logan's shirt.
The billionaire swatted his hands away but James kept going at it while he started to kiss Logan's neck. The billionaire sighed.
"I was waiting for you to get up."
Suddenly James' phone rang and when James didn't bother getting it, Logan shifted under him and grabbed it off the nightstand.
"Who's Laila?" Logan questioned.
"Shit!" James pulled away and snatched his phone out of Logan's hand.
He quickly shot out of bed and got dressed. He texted Laila before giving Logan a chaste kiss on the cheek and running out of the room.
"Laila!" James smiled wide, going in for a hug.
The slender brunette pushed him away and glared. "Don't touch me."
James' stopped his arms in mid-air and sighed, his smile falling right off his face. "You can't be mad at me."
"Are you kidding me? I'm always the one saving your sorry ass!"
The escort shrugged apologetically. "I'll make it up to you?"
Laila rolled her eyes. "This Logan guy better be fucking worth it, James."
"He is." James answered seriously.
"Please tell me he knows what's going on."
"Not exactly…"
"You better fucking tell him because I am not putting my job on the line for nothing."
"I'll tell him, relax."
"How can I relax when I have you as a friend?"
James just grinned, pulling the woman in for a hug. This time Laila let him but she didn't hug him back.
"For someone who claims they miss me, you're definitely not showing it."
She laughed and shoved James away. "I do miss you. I just don't miss your idiotic decisions."
"I only learn from the best." James shrugged.
Laila gasped and playfully punched him in the arm. James' smile widened.
"I'm going to my hotel. Tell Logan as soon as possible because if you don't it's going to bite both of you in the ass."
"Go to my apartment." James said. "Carlos and Kendall miss you like hell."
Laila made a face. "I don't think I'm ready to see Carlos yet."
James frowned but before he could say anything she was getting into her car and driving off. He did the same and drove to Logan's. The billionaire's place was the last place he should have gone to but he needed to tell Logan before he found out anything from Darren. He should be the one to tell Logan that what he does as a living could put him behind bars.
Once he got into Logan's driveway he tossed his keys at the butler and let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Logan's car wasn't parked. He was at work which left James plenty of time to come up with an excuse or with ways to kill Darren. He walked into the living room and started to pace.
I have to tell him. It will be better if he hears from me rather than someone else.
But he couldn't tell him either. What would Logan do if he were to find out that James was a prostitute? The only thing a normal human being would do; never speak to him ever again.
"Fuck!"
"You okay?" Alina asked, walking into the living room with Kendall behind her.
The brunet stopped moving and looked at the two.
"What are you two doing together?"
"We're dating." Kendall grinned.
"Congrats, can I talk to you?"
"Uh sur—"
Kendall didn't have the chance to answer because James was dragging him out of the living room and out to the backyard.
"You look like shit." The blond commented.
"I feel like shit." James sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Carlos didn't tell you what's going on?
Kendall shook his head. "Carlos is fucking pissed. He was seething when I tried to ask him what was wrong."
"Darren wants to throw me in jail for sleeping with him. And I can't have Logan find out or it will ruin everything."
"You are aware that he will find out, right?" Kendall said. "There's no way this will all blow over without him finding out."
"Yes it will because I asked Laila for help."
"That was smart." The blond mused. "But what are you going to do if you don't get thrown in jail? Continue being a prostitute? Logan will eventually find out."
"I don't know, man." James groaned.
"If you really do like Logan you should tell him before it's too late."
"Can you tell him?"
"I'd do anything for you, James, you know that but drama isn't exactly what I like to get involved with."
"Some friend you are." James said flatly.
"I told you not to sleep with people for money." Kendall said pointedly.
"I told you not to sleep with people for money." James mimicked.
His best friend glared at him. "Don't start acting like me now."
The brunet burst out laughing.
"So how did you and Alina hook up?"
Kendall shrugged. "I asked her out when we came over here."
"When did you turn bi?"
The blond gave him a flat look. "I've always been bi. I've just never met a woman I wanted to get to know better."
"Well, you have my approval. I like her."
Kendall just rolled his eyes.
"Kendall, you ready to go?" Alina asked through the door.
"You gonna be okay?" Kendall asked James.
"I'll survive." The brunet replied.
"OK, good luck!" The blond patted James' shoulder and left with Alina.
James slumped down on the patio chair and sighed heavily, his mind going back to this afternoon. The way he and Logan were in bed was disgustedly cute and he wanted to keep doing that. James has never been in a real relationship before and he's never experienced what it felt like to do that kind of shit with another person. He hated to admit it but he liked it. He liked the way Logan lit up whenever James walked into the room and he liked the way they were the annoying couple James couldn't stand in high school. And sure it was cheesy, the kind of cheesy that made you want to vomit but it was also the kind of cheesy you never wanted to stop.
He wanted to repeatedly bang his head against the patio table so he did. Maybe it would help him work up the courage to tell Logan the truth about himself. 5 minutes passed and nothing but a fucking headache but that didn't stop him from continuing. He could potentially lose his memory and won't be held accountable for his actions, especially if he didn't remember doing anything.
"James, what are you doing?" A concerned Logan asked as he lifted James' head off the table.
"Having a bad day." James pouted.
Logan sat down and scooted closer to the escort. Logan rested his hand on James' thigh.
"I knew something was wrong. You know you can talk to me about anything, right?"
"Did you know that Alina and Kendall are dating?" James asked, not-so-subtlety changing the subject.
"I just saw them making out in her car."
"They're still here? They ditched me and said they were going out."
The billionaire tried to stifle his chuckles but he couldn't help it and James glared at him. Logan just smirked.
"Looks like you don't have any friends now either."
He won't if he goes to jail.
"Hey, can you do me a favour?" The billionaire asked.
"Depends, am I getting a blow job in return?"
"You'll get more than a blow job."
James instantly perked up. "What do you want me to do?"
"Accompany me to a business party tonight?" Logan asked hopefully.
"Who's going to be there?"
"Everyone I work with."
"…Even your business associate?"
"Darren? Yeah, why?"
Well fuck. He couldn't go if Darren was going to be there. If Darren were to see James with Logan and if Logan introduced James as his boyfriend everything will go to shit. James didn't want everything to go to shit. At least not now.
"You know what? I think I'm coming down with something." James lied, holding his forehead with dear life.
"Are you getting a fever?" Logan asked worriedly as he reached out to feel James' forehead but the escort backed away.
"I'm just going to go lie down, okay? You go to the party. Don't worry about me."
The billionaire looked at him like he was crazy. "I'm not going to leave you here alone if you're sick."
"That's…sweet."
Logan nodded absentmindedly and pushed James through the doors. He told the escort to get comfortable in bed and to take a nap. James went up to Logan's room and changed into sweatpants and got under the covers. He should fake sick more often.
He looked up at the ceiling and he was right back to where he was this morning and all afternoon. He was left alone with his thoughts and Kendall's nagging voice telling him to do the right thing. He will, he will do the right thing. The second Logan walks through that door he will tell him. He took in a few deep breaths and prayed (even though he didn't believe in god) that everything wouldn't go to hell.
The door opened but the person he was expecting wasn't standing there. James' face went so pale that he could literally feel the blood draining from his body. He sat up and glared at the raven haired man.
He was never going to fake sick ever again.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He hissed.
"Darren, this is James, and James, this is my associate, Darren." Logan said, appearing next to Darren.
"Oh, we know each other very well." Darren said through his teeth.
James rolled his eyes so hard he got a headache.
"Fuck me." He groaned.
Couldn't everything go to shit after he told Logan?
sorry for leaving you with all these cliffhangers? muaahahhahahah
