Sonic and globe ran at globes top-speed through the meta-physical city of cloudsdale, sonic stuck to the 'ground', passing through alleyways and swerving around civilians, while globe took a slightly more risky route from the start, managing to scale a building and sticking to the rooftops, both searching for clues. The duo both ended up finding clues around the same time.

Globe had been halfway through jumping to his 31st rooftop when 13 small shiny lights sped past, except for the last one , which clipped him and made him screw up his landing, unfortunately, while he could of recovered his landing with a moderate cut at most, the pipe on top of the roof wouldn't let him, as he tripped over it and landed face first, simultaneously getting his foot stuck under the same pipe.

Globe: oh, for chao's sake. Well, least it isn't broken, of course I had to hit the only building with plumbing.

He then tried wiggling his foot to free it, until he heard a snapping sound and his eyes started watering.

Globe: well then, crap.

Globe, in something of defeat, laid down minimize the pain, while closing his eyes, but it didn't last long as he heard a voice from above him.

?: TARGET IDENTIFIED. FRIEND OF SONIC. ALL FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES OF SONIC MUST BE ANNHILATED. LEATHAL WEAPONS ACTIVATE.

Upon hearing this, globe immediately opened his eyes to see a metal representation of Sonic, pointing a built-in gun at him.

Globe: oh buck!

Sonic was speeding down an alleyway at high speed, before drifting out the over end, only to come face-to-face with a huge crowd of pegasi, making him run to a wall and, on instinct, he ran up two conveniently aligned crates before performing a summersault over the crowd and landing smoothly.

Sonic: sweet chao, that was fun, gotta try that again some…what's this

Sonic, as he was talking, saw a tuft of light pink hair, laying on the ground, near the edge of city, where only a fence was put up to stop unable fliers from falling off.

Sonic: light pink, exactly like Fluttershy's hair, so, if this is so near to edge, then Flutters would be…

Before sonic got to finish talking, a sharp pain appeared in his leg, causing him to fall to the ground in pain, before trying to identify the cause, which turned out to be a small metallic object, which had firmly implanted itself in Sonic's knee. Judging by the trajectory it must have come at to hit at the angle it did, it came from somewhere on the actual ground. Suddenly, another metallic object hit, missing his leg by a few centimeters, but the hedgehog didn't go unfazed.

Sonic: JESUS SWEET MONKEY BATMAN!

Breathing heavily, sonic took a few steps till he reached the edge, looking over to see a majorly metallic structure, and on a ledge of it, a metallic entity held a strange device in his hand that fired out the metallic objects that had hit sonic, there also appeared to be a sort of scope on it, then another metallic object was fired at his head, before a agonized scream.
