Chapter 10: An Assignment

AN: Hey guys sorry for the delay and I still blame school for this even though I have a schedule, but I think I forgot to mention when or how I am going to start my schedule so my bad. Also, I have heard of Monty Oum's death and I have felt out of the hype of typing my story until now and because of that I have thought of making a painting for Monty's honor even though it is a bit late. Enough sadness and me talking let's begin.

Kusari

"Mom, close the blinds the sun is on my face…" I mumbled after someone moved the blinds up, "At least wait for me for three minutes…"

"Nope, Mom said I'll keep an eye on you especially when you're tired." I know it is Saria talking to me, but i stood up from bed anyway, "Morning Aki."

"Did you seriously call me by my second name?" Saria nodded as I groaned in sleepy annoyance, "So you need something?"

"I was just checking on you to see if you're feeling better, besides," She pulls out Barbecue flavored cup ramen from her small backpack, "I know you want cup ramen and thought you were hungry for one."

"The better question is: did you warm it up already?" She nodded and I smiled at it as she placed chopstick on top, "Thank you for the ramen!"

I started to gobble down my ramen until Saria asked me a question which made me ponder as I eat my food, "Does Professor Ozpin know yet?"

I finished my ramen and placed it down from the table counter as I replied to her question, "Nope, still clean about it."

"Are you sure?" Saria was concerned of a upcoming hunting season from the government which will lead to questioning or death.

"Yeah, I'm sure, besides, the doctor said I'll get out today at night." I smiled at Saria as she was in joy of the news. "Now, I'm going to sleep through the day."

"Alright, I'll see you tonight." Saria hugged me and then left room. When she was long gone, I sighted in stress from what happened last night when I talked with Ozpin.

"I wonder why he wants to know." I thought about it then shrugged off the thought as I lay in bed about to go to sleep until a nurse opened the door, "Hey nurse, what has been happening?"

"Nothing much," She replied as she placed a vase a flowers. "Someone sent these flowers today and hope you enjoy your time."

When she left the room, I saw a small letter folded upon the flowers, "Hope to see you soon." After reading the letter, I tried to find the sender, but no luck, "Weird, but thank you mysterious writer."

Last Night

"Alright, I want to know why you attended Beacon in the first place. Ozpin started with an easy question, "Well?"

"When I was younger, I told my parents that I'm going to make miracles as a hunter." When I said that, Ozpin chuckled at me reply, "I know it sounds childish, but I'm determined on that dream."

"Seems fair enough; now, did you train before you got admitted to Beacon or you already attained them when you were younger?" I pondered for a while not to reveal my secret, "Well how did you become skillful; I'm curious."

"I actually attained them when I was at Signal, strangely, my teacher didn't mind if I was roaming the campus," I chuckled after the comment, "Might have been due to my grades."

"I read through your files; you scored the highest rank and was able to beat Ms. Schnee by a point." I was surprised that I defeated Weiss by a point and was in awe about this info, "Now… Why is someone that has a caliber with that intellect attending my school?"

"Well, I want to understand Grimm and I want to show on how a hunter fights them with style." I smiled with a slight chuckle which made Ozpin smile as well.

"Okay, last question," When he said those last two words, I slowly started to have suspicion of what was his purpose, "Why is a Shinra attending my school?"

"… When did you know and how long," I lost my joyful attitude to a serious attitude. Due to this, I question on how he was able to know my secret, "I'm curious on how you knew."

"Your father and I were like brothers and we told our secrets to each other, including his Shinra bloodline. Then, one day he got caught with it and was in custody; however, he showed no sign of struggle because his love to humans. He told this to me if I ever see you and outside of prison: Stay close to your relatives and hope you remain calm throughout your youth." I thought about his story when he finished.

After a deep thought, I gave my reply with a smile, "Just to make my parents proud and know I'm going to do my best."

"That is good to hear and because of your answer I have a mission for you.' I heard mission and had full attention, "but will be explained later in the afternoon." I was kinda disappointed but was completely okay because of my drowsiness.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Kilik."

Saria

As we walked through Forever Fall, I noticed Iris being quieter than yesterday and when we first met. I tapped her shoulder, "Something the matter, you're quieter than usual."

"N-No, it's nothing really," She started to blush and looked flustered which made me to become more curious, "I-Is there something you need Saria?"

"Did you give my brother something?" Iris then projected a steamy red face as if she ate food that was to spicy, "What did you give him?"

"Just a vase full of…" She mumbled the last word which makes it inaudible for it to be heard, "What was it, I didn't hear it?"

"Flowers…."

"What?"

"Flowers," After hearing flowers, I started to feel a bit of a emotional rollercoaster of many which caused me to talk staggered. "Wh-Wh-Wh-Why did-did-did-did you give him fl-fl-fl-flowers?!"

"I'm in love with him…" Iris was fiddling with her fingers as I went through emotional and informational breakdown that made me faint ti the ground.

Kusari

"You want me to fight in a beowolf cave?" Ozpin nodded as we flew in a small carrier plane, "Why exactly?"

"Well, consider this an assignment and curiosity has set its grounds on me to see." I was a bit puzzled and later shrugged off the meaning. We later arrived in the deep area of Forever Fall and I admired its beauty when we landed. "First, I wanted to know if you can transform without a jumpstart." I naturally agreed and transformed to Shinra and Ozpin is pleased, "Good, now stay in that form and follow me."

I followed Ozpin to our designated spot and upon arrival, I gazed among a large beowolf pack and saw small cute puppies of the wolves, "So, what is the plan?"

"The beowolf population has been growing little by little and we located a nest in a cave," Ozpin explained. "I need you to take down the hunters of the nest; you can tell if they're hunters by the slim body frame."

"I see them; alright, now it's time to get this party started." I ran inside and jumped in the center of the pack in fighting stance, "Showtime!"
