Spirit: A continuation of the last chapter yay!
Best of all, the one chapter that you Prideshippers were waiting for.
There are a few hints here. LOL
The manga just made it seem so cannon!
Okay here's the thing, Darkyami couldn't make it for this chapter at all. She's currently at Mexico for weekend at the moment, so there is nothing more that will happen.
But for the most part I really wanted to write this chapter of the story. So here it is.
Next chapter Darkyami will take care of it. Instead of actually writing some parts to it and having the other work on it.
So yeah, you'll be seeing some of me mostly in this chapter.
Oh! Before I forget, I will be following the Manga on this duel. Well mostly because I think the manga did an awesome job on the duel. Plus I can't seem to get the episodes on this particular duel.
But luckily I can remember the majority of what happened in the episode so, that should be it.
So yeah…
So expect it to get a little unorganized and fast in the beginning.
Anyways enough of that here we go!
Chapter 10: Going Somewhere?
Yami didn't bother to listen to anyone else as she continued through the city. She didn't even feel tired, all that mattered that she find Jonouchi and her friends as quickly as possible.
*Jonouchi… where are you!?* She thought, she was walking through what looked like a empty alley. She didn't bother to pay attention to the graffiti or abandoned boxes and crates.
What she did pay attention to was the two figures that remained right before her. She came to a stop, her eyes scanning them, eyes narrowed.
"You're Yami right?" The chubby man asked, giving the young female a full look. A smug grin on his face.
"If you want to go any further you'll have to beat us first."
"In a duel he means! Heh, Heh, Heh…" The skinner one said.
Yami glared harshly. "Get out of the WAY!" She screamed, she knew they were rare hunters and there is no way she is-
She saw the shorter chubby man seem to have a prolonged look.
*What in the name of…?*
"You wish! If we let you pass Lord Marik will Kill us…" The chubby one said.
"If you refuse to duel us… your friends will be eliminated immediately." The tall one said.
But what irked the female duelist was the look they continued to give her. She had a bad feeling…
"So… which one of us should go first? I say I should." The chubby one said.
"No I should." The taller said.
"Alright let's Roshambo it!" The chubby said.
"Fine." The tall one said.
"Rock, Paper Scissors!"
The girl was semi glad that they no loner were giving her odd looks, but the more time they continued to waste, the more Jonouchi is in danger.
She had enough.
"Hurry UP!"
Both looked at her once again, though there was a small grin applied to their faces. "Sorry Yami, we keep trying, we can't decide who goes fir-"
Their faces froze.
"Then come at us as a tag team! You pigs! Yami and I will pair up!"
Yami felt the base of her spine go numb when she heard that yell. She quickly turned around to see non other than the host of the tournament.
*Kaiba…!*
Both of the ghoul's faces fell, obviously not happy a bit about the situation. "A tag match…? Well we have the right number of people…" The chubby stated.
Yami was in absolute shock. Kaiba was willing to take his chances and actually tag team with her in a duel. They only did this one other time, and that was during their time in the virtual world that Kaiba created. But only that was because they had no choice.
In this Kaiba did have one.
*Why would he…?*
"Don't get the wrong idea Yami."
Yami looked up seeing the profile of the CEO.
"The one reason why I will help you is to wipe out these card-counterfeiting scum out of Battle City. I'm not lending you a hand or to your friends." He stated, his harsh look at the ghouls never fading.
Yami almost felt a poke of nerve to her chest. Something odd about how he said that almost… irked her?
"Okay. Let's get this over with." The tri-haired female continued.
Truth be told, she was slightly relieved at the fact that Kaiba came when he did. In honest truth, she didn't really trust those two men around her. She felt that there was something that they could have done… something rather extensive…
But she casted those worries out of the way as the four continued the duel.
"This'll be fast! Watch Me Yami!" The CEO yelled, already casting his monsters and summoning his own God Card. (NOTE 1)
"This Is My Obelisk!" He shouted, evilly laughing all the same.
Yami jumped back, her arm trembling at the sight of the Blue War God.
*Obelisk…! S-So that's Kaiba's God Card!* She shouted mentally.
The God itself had managed to hit both ghouls and take their life points in a single punch.
The monsters disappeared, leaving the duel at a close. But the girl didn't bother to stay she ran over and grabbed the chubby one by the collar of his cloths.
"Where is Jonounchi and my Friends!" She yelled, but the man had already lost consciousness before she even reached him.
"Crap…" She muttered, letting the man drop to the floor, the clank sound of metal hitting the concrete echoing in the lone alley. There is nothing else he can or would do.
"Even the Ghouls own puzzle cards." Kaiba said, grasping the taller ghoul by the neck of his purple coat and pulling out a clear card from the duel disk. "This one is yours." The CEO said tossing the tri-haired girl one.
Yami grasped it, taking it and storing it in her deck holder. She continued to look intently at him. "I'm going to find Jonouchi."
"Wait." Kaiba responded, stopping the female duelist from leaving.
"Don't Stop Me Kaiba! I must leave Now!"
The CEO turned around, his little raven-haired brother holding the briefcase in front of him.
How on earth did Yami not noticed the younger Kaiba behind them?
"Mokuba, contact the head office."
"You want to find Jonouchi?" He asked, dropping the case down carefully.
Yami completely face the Kaiba brothers. "My company's systems can detect where Jonouchi and the others are at. If he's registered, then his signal from his duel disk will allow us to find him." The older brother said, crossing his arms across his broad chest.
The girl said nothing, but her expression spoke for her.
"But get note, after you save them, you better prepare for the duel between us."
Yami nodded, she knew would have to, and it was the least that she could do since Kaiba was helping to find her friends.
"Mokuba, go back to base and see where the signal would be."
The kid nodded with a Mmmhh! And ran off. But not even the enthusiasm that kid left behind every time he would go, did it lower the female's apprehension. She really needed to get to her friends and quick.
It only been a few minutes and Yami had caught herself looking to her sides continually. Her crimson eyes scanning the area, anywhere.
*Curses! Where are you Jonouchi?!* She looked over to Kaiba's side, but it was the same result as her own side. Nothing.
*Every moment we waste, the ghouls are getting closer to him!* Rather she was completely confined into her thoughts that she didn't actually didn't realize the small concrete rift that was before her foot before she actually snagged her toe and actually found herself falling over.
She gave an audible gasp while she leaned forward, and she would have fallen face-flat had not a strong hand grabbed her.
She felt a strong pressure over her slim waist before she was situated back to her feet.
"Are you not paying attention to where you are going Yami. I do not expect this from my rival." Kaiba said crossing his arms.
A small tint of warmth coursed over the bridge of her nose, remembering that the CEO actually had grabbed her.
What on earth is going on with her. She glared, not bothering to even respond to his words.
Kaiba loosened the hold over his arms, giving a small chuckle. "Don't worry so much Yami. We'll know where to go soon enough."
The girl looked to her side, not bothering to care if he was trying to calm her down, or just try to taunt her. But all of a sudden she heard him chuckle, her eyes turned towards the taller male.
"Aren't we an odd pair. Here I am walking shoulder to shoulder with the person I swore would be lifelong rival." He commented, staring towards her at the corner of his eye.
"And all I want is nothing more than to beat you. Right Here and Now."
"Kaiba… right now I just want to make sure my friends are safe." She countered only giving him view of part of her face.
"I don't care at all about your friends. But… we both share one purpose."
"What would that be exactly Kaiba?" The shorter teen asked, facing the male, placing a hand on her hip.
"The Ghouls…" As if the word alone caused the world to stop, the shorter person stop dead in her tracks.
"Rare cards Hunters who step on the hearts of those who love collectible card games… I'm going to smash their operation… and then I'm going to smash every single one of them individually."
The CEO stopped walking actually taking the time to see around him.
"Yami, get note the only real reason why I joined forces with you is because together, we are an irresistible prize. We'll attack the God-hunting ghouls and kill them! And we've gotten rid of a few of these scums already."
The girl turned away from him, in honest sense she was on the fence with this, the mere fact that he was right about dealing with the ghouls, but to actually take matter that far didn't go well with her. Not all.
Especially after the fact how Kaiba managed to beat those two ghouls with his god card…
"Kaiba… exactly, how did you get a god card?"
The taller male chucked. "Hmph, the god card chose me, that's all. And not just one card… All three of them. They will choose me! Out of every person in the world."
*Typical Kaiba…* Yami thought looking ahead.
Faint beeping to her side caught her attention.
'Nii-sama.'
The older Kaiba pressed against the small logo at the side of his coat collar.
"What is it Mokuba?"
'We found Jonouchi's location on the satellite. He's in "F" block, Area 402! Around Domino Aquarium.'
"So he hasn't moved. Good." The CEO faced the girl. "Well Yami, we've located your mutt, I'll expect some thanks."
He couldn't help but grin at the girl's reaction. Curious even to know how her face expression would change that quickly.
"Heh, don't the wrong idea. I know that ghouls gather where they can find easy prey. That's the only reason I tracked him down." Almost as expected, her expression changed instantly.
"Kaiba! I do thank you for find Jonouchi! But do not insult him, Jonouchi has become a fine Duelist!"
Now Kaiba really began to laugh. "Him. A duelist!? That Brick-head who cried when I beat him!?"
The fiery glare increased in the female's face. "I swore I would fight him in Battle City! And It'll be a true Duel between Duelist!"
"Hmph! If I remember correctly, Gnocchi's a level 2 duelist. I don't know how he made his way into this tournament since only level 5 and up are allowed… but in any case… The moment I face him, I'll declare him disqualified! MHA, HA, HA, HA, HA!"
The girl seriously wanted to give the CEO a real good hit to the face. But she resented it, she knew it wouldn't change the situation at all. But that still didn't give him a reason to mock her friend like that.
"Well? what's the holdup, Yami. Let's go and help your little friend." A long quite sigh escaped her lips, she followed right after Kaiba, knowing it was by far the only way she would be able to find her friend.
"Well there's the famous couple." One person said, their eyes firmly on the two duelists walking.
"Why don'tcha guide em to the Duel Arena?" His companion said a large grin on his face.
"Cannot wait to see the Duel Queen in action." He commented. His eyes lingering on the tri-colored haired female.
"Leave it to me." The shorter one said. He quickly ran pass his friend, jumping over the cracks of the separate buildings. Using his amazing acrobatic skills to flip and lower himself to the ground.
The moment he saw the two duelists he jumped right in front of them.
Both Kaiba and Yami stopped, their eyes on the cloaked person.
"Ghouls!?" Kaiba shouted.
The shorter man laughed.
"Well would you look at that." He said his face dark, but the two could tell that he was grinning maliciously.
Both turned behind them to where he was indicating. Harsh winds instantly covered the road, causing both to shield their faces.
A dark grey helicopter hovered close by slowly approaching the rivals, Yami squinted her eyes slightly noticing something hanging from the bottom.
She looked at it closer seeing a mass of black hair.
*It couldn't…!*
Kaiba didn't take long to see the person.
"NII-SAMA!" The person screamed.
A mix of fear and anger coursed through CEO upon seeing his brother hanging from the helicopter. "Mokuba!"
The 12 year old continued screaming, but the sound of the chopper's propellers started to make it almost impossible to hear.
"Damn You Ghouls!" He screamed, quickly turning around to see the single cloaked man.
"You Bastard! If you so much as touch a hair on Mokuba, I won't show you any form of Mercy! I'll use the entire influence of Kaiba Corporation and Crush you all!" He threaten.
The man only laughed. "How Scary! But if you dare touch us, your cute little brother will…" He stopped there laughing all the same.
"Damn You…!" The elder brother hissed
"If you want to save him, come to the skyscraper over there." He pointed towards a light blue glass building to his left.
"If you don't show up, then, let's say your little brother will have a ride of his life." The cloaked man chuckled.
That alone made the CEO turn back to the helicopter, seeing now the younger Kaiba start to elevate from the ground.
"Mokuba!" He screamed, no longer able to see his younger brother.
The man chuckled. "You are to come as well Yami."
The girl blinked turning back to the short man. "Ya better come if you want to ever see those friends of yours again."
"What!?" Her thoughts went back to Jonouchi and the others.
*So everyone really is…*
The short man chuckled at the sight of her face. "They ain't getting in the way."
And with that he ran off from the two, jumping onto the building swiftly.
"Now Hurry Along. To the real Duel Arena!" He shouted before he too was out of their sights.
"Yami." The girl face her rival. "We have to go! Let's crush them with everything we've got."
The girl nodded, there was no way they would be able to avoid this at all.
"But don't get the wrong idea, I'm only going for my brother. I don't care a thing about your friends." He said his eyebrows twitching.
"Fine by Me." She said, her own gaze matching his own. And before anyone even knew it the two duelists raced towards the building.

Sorry but I will end it here.
Not because I want to, but mostly because if I do, I wouldn't be able to combine the rest of the plot fluidly.
I hope you guys can understand that.
NOTES:
(1) Now I am using a mix of the manga and so far what I can remember from the show. And let me tell you, it's hard to find any episodes online that are original sub. Literally I can't find them anywhere!?
But for the most part, the manga is all I can do for the meantime, at least until I can find the JAP series soon.
