A/N: Keep the reviews coming guys! This story is far from over and I'm implementing most of your suggestions so keep that in mind!

Spring break was just around the corner and Beca couldn't be happier. She was stoked that campus would be pretty much empty and she wouldn't have to see anyone, namely Aubrey and Chloe. In the first few days after the Semi-Finals debacle she had been able to avoid the Bellas and pretty much anybody in the acapella world, with the exception of Jesse of course. Stacie and Fat Amy had texted her to see how she was and to apologize for not having her back which, at this point, wasn't a big deal. She knew they had lost but she still felt good about what she did and she was happy that Jesse was excited about advancing to the Finals, they had earned it, and she was always envious that he was part of a group that got to take chances and sing decent songs even if they were all mostly douche bags.

Above all, she had fulfilled her father's only wish for her. She had tried something new and made some memories so she had his support to go to LA and that was all she could bring herself to care about these days. All Beca focused on now was the radio station and finishing the year with decent grades.

As Beca left the radio station after spending the day with Luke (who prepped her on running the station alone while he was gone) she heard her phone ringing and saw that it was Jesse calling, probably to say bye since he was leaving the next day to go home for break.

"Hey Jess" She answered as she began to walk across campus to her dorm.

"BECAW!" He screeched, so loudly that she had to pull the phone away from her ear.
"What's up?"

"What was that? I'm currently deaf in one ear from your greeting." She answered sarcastically
"You really need to stop calling me that by the way." She added

He chuckled. "You love it, you can't even lie! How was your shift?"

"Eh, it was alright. Luke's a little paranoid about letting me run the station while he goes away for break, but everything will be fine, he was just explaining some more shit to me."

"At least he lets you in the booth. If I even look at it, he yells at me." Jesse told her

"Well I'm sure you'll be able to display your talents next year since there will be no one left." Beca said

"I hope so. God, it's going to be so weird without you here next year." Jesse said in disbelief

Beca rolled her eyes. "Shut up, there will be some hot freshman intern that will give you an excuse to have sex on the desk. It's really a win-win for you."

"It will never compare to the time we spent on it, baby." He said

Beca laughed out loud as she remembered the time they pretended to have sex on the desk just to piss Luke off as he came in for one of his shifts. He wasn't amused, but they were.

"That's right, I'm the best you've never had!" She joked and they shared another laugh.

"Hey listen Becs, I just wanted to say bye since I'm leaving tomorrow. It's gonna be weird not seeing you for a whole week." Jesse said

"Yeah well, it's only a week. I'm sure we'll survive." She told him. Suddenly he was rather silent and she could hear his hesitation through the phone.
"Jess, what's up?" She asked

"I know it's a semi-sore subject but, are you gonna talk to Chloe before she goes on break?" He asked her.

"No, I really wasn't planning on it." Beca told him

"Oh." He replied

"Why? Why are you asking me this?" She asked him

He sighed. "Look, I think you should talk to her before she leaves tomorrow."

"Are you nuts? That's the absolute last thing I'd ever want to do. I'd rather drink bleach and run a marathon." Beca explained

"I know, I know. Just…consider it?" He asked

"Why are you being so persistent? What do you know that I don't?" She questioned

"Nothing but you guys were best friends attached at the hip. I'd hate to see you lose such a good friendship. I know you're upset because things can't work out romantically between you guys but that shouldn't stop you from having someone like her in your life as a friend." He advised her

"Upset is putting it kind of lightly. Besides, I'm moving to LA…long distance friendship is just as lame as it sounds." She said

"Really? Well what about us? Are we just not going to be friends since you're in LA? Cause it doesn't sound lame to me. I can't wait to come visit you in La-La land and I'm sure Chloe would too." He said

"Ugh, Jess, it's way different with you and me. Besides, after what I said to Chloe the night of Semi-Finals, I'm sure it's a mutual thing that we'd rather not speak." Beca said

"Well, I wouldn't be so sure about that." Jesse said matter of factly.

"What are you not telling me!?" Beca exclaimed

"Nothing! Listen, I have to go pack. Just consider talking to Chloe, Bec. I really think you'd both benefit from it." Jesse told her

"You totally talked to her about me, didn't you?" Beca questioned, knowing that he definitely did.

"Bye Bec, see you in a week!" He said before hanging up.

She shook her head, not knowing if she was pissed that he had talked to Chloe or that he could've possibly made things worse. Before putting her phone in her pocket, she stared at it for a minute. She had fully intended on avoiding Chloe as much as possible for the rest of the year and believed that Chloe would be doing the same, especially after she had reamed her out at Semi-Finals. Beca put her phone in her pocket and continued walking to her dorm. As she went into her room, she casually greeted Kimmy Jin who was packing for spring break. Where she was going, Beca didn't even dare to ask or know, she was just thankful for a week free of glaring and trading insults. Beca set her bag down and turned on her computer as well as her mixing gear, fully content with spending all of her free time mixing this week. Her music was what was going to get her places in life and she had no problem alienating herself and putting her all into it, after all that's what she did all while growing up.

"Happy spring break, Beca." Kimmy Jin said as she opened the door to leave.

"Thanks.." She said in surprise.
"You too."

Beca saw her meet her friends downstairs through the window and for some reason it made her think of the Bellas. The one thing she seemed to hate more than anything these past few months was actually something she found herself missing. Not so much the singing and dancing, but the girls and their antics (minus Aubrey, of course.) She shook it off and went back to her mix, 'what's done is done' she thought.

After a few hours, she noticed her phone light up with a text from Jesse.

Jesse: Look under your pillow!

Confused, yet curious, she looked under her pillow and found a DVD.

'The Breakfast Club? What the fuck?'

Beca: Um, thanks?

Jesse: Just watch it. Trust me.

She rolled her eyes.

Beca: Will do. And for future notice, stay out of my room you creep! =P

She laid on her bed and examined the DVD cover. A bunch of random 80's actors decorated the front and the description on the back just screamed TEENAGE DRAMA. She ultimately decided she'd watch if and when she ever was in a rut with her mixes this week, though she was sure Jesse would text her everyday asking if she had watched it and what she had thought.

She exited out of Jesse's text and Chloe's name in her inbox caught her eye. It had been weeks since the two had texted when before it had been a regular thing. It would be the biggest lie in the world if Beca had said she didn't miss their back and forth jabs or random texts. Above all, she did miss spending time with Chloe. All feelings aside, they had gotten close quickly just as Chloe had predicted at hood night and she really missed hanging out and criticizing most of Chloe's iTunes collection. She tapped her name and her conversation with Chloe came up, as she read it, she decided to text her since Jesse had laid the bait so well. The only thing was that she was really nervous about it all. She knew she owed Chloe an apology, but then what? She missed spending time with Chloe but she knew it would be a knife through her heart every time she hung out with Chloe and couldn't truly be with her how she wanted, how they both wanted. It still didn't make sense to Beca. Their kiss was electric and exciting, something she had never felt when she kissed anybody else. The situation just truly sucked.

Beca: Hey, you still on campus?

Beca bit her lip as she sent it and threw her phone to the side of her on her bed, wondering if Chloe would even give her the time of day at this point.

Silence.

Well, that pretty much answered her question.

Beca hadn't realized it but she was actually pretty tired, and her moment of rest quickly turned into a 2 hour nap and when she awoke she realized it was now dark out. She yawned and stretched her arms out as she sat up and shook herself out of her sleepy state, noticing her phone beside her, she picked it up and unlocked it.

Chloe: Yeah, I'm not leaving until tomorrow morning.

Chloe: ?

Beca was pretty surprised that she had texted her back and felt like a jerk for falling asleep and not responding. Chloe probably thought she was a bitch for that.

Beca: Sorry, I fell asleep. Any chance that we can meet up for a bit?

Chloe: Sure…come over.

Beca frowned as she read Chloe's last message. She really wasn't trying to see Aubrey.

Beca: Can we meet in neutral territory? Not trying to deal with the Nazi's wrath.

Chloe: She left a few hours ago, you're good.

She felt uneasy about speaking to Chloe…she didn't really know where to begin or what to even say and she hated that their texts had become awkward and cold. After putting her boots on, she threw her leather jacket on and headed to Chloe's apartment. For once, she wished Chloe had lived further so that she could at least come up with something to say because before she knew it she was at Chloe's building, walking towards her apartment door.

After knocking, she stuffed her hands in the pockets of her jacket and felt a lump form in her throat which pretty much guaranteed that this would pretty much be another situation where Beca would awkwardly search for the right words and probably screw up her good intentions. Suddenly, Chloe answered the door, looking as radiant as the first time Beca saw her at the activities fair. Her hair was down and just slightly curled and even though she was only in a simple pair of jeans and a red v-neck, Beca couldn't help but stare in admiration.

"Hey.." Beca muttered, nervously tucking her hair behind her ear

"Hey yourself. Come in." Chloe said, standing back for Beca to enter. Beca just shrugged and walked in past Chloe. Even though Aubrey was gone, she could still feel the presence of the older blonde and it just made things that much more awkward.

"Soo…what's up?" Beca asked, looking around and rolling up her sleeves.

"Not much, just packing for break." Chloe replied as she headed back to her room. Beca followed the senior into her room, suddenly feeling weird about being in her room since the last time she was there she had kissed her.

"Going anywhere fun?" Beca asked as Chloe went about folding the clothes on her bed and putting them in her duffle bag.

"Not really. Just home for the week. I was supposed to go on a cruise with Aubrey but it's obviously not happening now." Chloe answered

Beca sat in the chair in front of Chloe's desk
"Why aren't you going on the cruise? It's your last spring break, shouldn't you be doing something crazy?"

"Believe me, I'd much rather be going on a cruise than going home this week." Chloe told her in a somber voice.

Beca didn't really understand Chloe's reservation about going home. The redhead had a great home life from what she had told Beca. She decided not to press it.

"I, uh, I talked to Jesse earlier before he left." Beca stated

"You talk to him every day, don't you?" Chloe asked

"Well, yeah but, he suggested that I talk to you, ya know, after everything that's gone down." The brunette said, looking down and playing with her bracelets.

"Well it's good to know you do everything that Jesse asks of you." Chloe said in a harsh tone as she zipped her duffle bag.

Beca sighed and stood up, walking over to Chloe and putting a hand on her shoulder causing the red head to stop and turn around.
"Look, you have every right to be a huge bitch to me since I don't deserve anymore kindness from you. I just wanted to apologize, yet again, for being the worst friend in the world. I don't expect you to accept it or even care but I want you to know that this situation sucks and I know I didn't react in the best way which makes everything worse. And everything I said the other night, I really didn't mean it. I'm glad you broke through my walls, and I'm glad we were friends."

"Were?" Chloe asked, folding her arms and looking at the younger brunette quizzically.

Beca hesitated before answering.
"I don't know if we still are. I don't really know what we are…" She said with a shrug.

"Beca, I told you that no matter what…we'd always be friends. And I don't need your apology, though it's appreciated, I just don't like when you completely shut me out and avoid me. That's what hurts. More so than your harsh choice of words." Chloe told her sincerely

"I know. I just…this shit is complicated. I'd rather have you in my life as my best friend than not at all. It's just gonna be weird when I go to LA in a few months." Beca confessed.
Chloe smiled at her and pulled her into a warm embrace. God damn, Beca had missed her hugs.
"That's the good thing about friendships like ours, they can withstand time and distance." Chloe said, her head laying on Beca's shoulder now.

"And relationships can't?" Beca scoffed, obviously not thinking.

Chloe pulled away and Beca noticed the hint of tears in her eyes.

'Fuck, Beca, must you ruin everything?' She mentally scolded herself.

"I'm sorry…I shouldn't have said that. I don't know what I was thinking." Beca said, immediately hating herself and realizing that it was just one apology after another with her. Why couldn't she just be normal?

"No, it's fine." Chloe said wiping her eyes.
"I'm just emotional about going home…It's making me over think everything."

"I figured you'd be excited about going home. Why are you so upset by it?" Beca asked, noticing more tears in Chloe's eyes. For some reason it was Beca's natural instinct to comfort Chloe. She had never been one to hug, but as with everything, it was different with Chloe. She put her hands on Chloe's forearms as Chloe hesitated.

"I'm having surgery." The redhead stated.

'Wait, what?'
