A/N: I know it has been a while since I have updated. I am so sorry it has been so long I was having a problem thinking of the perfect ending to this story. For Jamie the past three months were a blur. However as he sat waiting to meet up with his brothers at a coffee shop before heading to his fathers, he could not help but reflect on those months for a lot had happened. In fact this was the first time he and Amelia were back in New York. The trial went as smoothly as one could expect however there was still problems that needed to be taken care of before it was safe to return to New York and life normally. As much as Jamie hated it the FBI had pointed out there concerns Amelia and himself saw their point and could not disagree with them so he and Amelia a week after the pool get together they called the family and asked them to come back to the hotel.

Flashback

"Danny would you please sit down your pacing is driving me crazy. They will be here in a moment we were early remember."
"Sorry I just can't help, it this is all so off I can feel it something is wrong."

"Danny, Jamie just probably wanted to see us that is probably all there is to this, I mean he hasn't seen us for like three almost four months."

"Linda he just saw us a few days ago I really hope you are right but my Reagan gut is telling me there is something else."
"Are you sure that is you gut and not gas?" Erin replied as she and Nikki walked into the room.

"Ha ha, very funny you cannot deny that this is odd." At this Erin went quite until Henry, Frank and Joe entered the room.

"Look who beat us that must be a record Danny is actually on time." Joe teased.

Danny's lack of a snide reply had Joe worried so he said, "Hey you okay?"
"Yeah I am fine." At seeing the looks of concern Danny added, "I promise you I am fine just worried is all." Frank concern vanished for he could not deny he was also worried. In fact if they were all honest with themselves they knew no one could deny their concern for the youngest Reagan.

"Where is he? it is unlike him to set up an event and be late." Henry asked.
Before anyone could reply a voice behind them spoke. "Sorry to keep you waiting that was not our intention the meeting ran longer than we expected Jamie is just wrapping it up now he will be here shortly." Amelia said as she entered the room.

Needless to say everyone one was stunned Danny however recovered the fastest," I thought you were on vacation?"
Amelia looked uncomfortable to say the least but she did not break eye contact with Danny," Let's just wait for Jamie."

"Oh come on just answer the question."

"Danny" Frank snapped however before he could continue Amelia interrupted,"No we are not on vacation our vacation ended yesterday. Before you say Jamie should not be working the doctors cleared him yesterday and our bosses know exactly what he can do and tried to give him more time off but Jamie refused. However that is not what this is about."
"Then what is this about?"

"Jamie wants to tell you himself." At the glare evident on Danny's face Frank intervened.
"She just politely asked us to wait if you did not here her Danny so please go sit down." Danny looked annoyed but complied.

A few minutes later Jamie walked into the room. "Sorry that took longer than I thought. " After he greeted his family and fiancé he sat down. An awkward silence fell over the room for a few moments no one wanting to dive into the questions. A few seconds later Frank said, "So son what is going on?"
"Well I am not sure how to tell you this."
"Why don't you just say everything and we will go from there." Joe suggested.

"Alright well I had a checkup yesterday and it went well. As a result of the check-up I was cleared for office work the doctors still expect a full recovery with time."

"That is great news but what else is on your mind cause no offense but Amelia already told us your back at work does this mean you are saying you are cleared and want to come back to the police force is that why you called this meeting?" Joe asked.
"No that is not at all what I am saying, okay look you remember how I told you about witness protection and you learned why I was in witness protection?" at the look of realization Jamie continued," the trial is taking longer to wrap up that expected and for safety reasons it is necessary that I still remain in the program."
"Jamie no." Frank replied.
"Dad this is not a question I am telling you what I am doing. After tonight we will be leaving."

"We just got you back." Erin interrupted.

"When will we see you again and where are you going?" Joe added seeing as everyone else was speechless.

"Erin I know I just got back but there is no other way trust me if there was I would take it. As for when you will see me again I have no clue when that will be in person but I have made it clear that once every week we will skype I am told this will be in a bland location with an encrypted imp address so no one knows where I am and if this goes past four months then you will all be contacted and flown to a secret location were all of us will meet in person for a long weekend to catchup in person. " The family did not seem to like the plan one bit but instead of starting a fight the Reagans just sat there in a form of silent support for a few minutes after that they hung out for another hour before everyone said their goodbyes to Jamie and Amelia."

Jamie was brought out of his thoughts by a loud bang. He then saw his brother strolling up to the coffee shop. In an instant there was a round of hugs as they sat down and caught up on the events of the past few months before leaving to head to the family home where everyone was waiting. As Jamie walked up the steps to the Reagan home a few things were made clear. The first being he is finally home. The second being he had found the love of his life that would be his wife in a few short weeks. The one upside of being away was that you had time to plan the wedding not that they were doing anything huge just a small church wedding with family and friends. The idea of being able to have a career in both fields was to enticing to pass up especially with the standing he managed to achieve so there for he was going to stay a lawyer.

Upon entering Jamie was crushed by multiple loving hugs. For everyone was ecstatic to see him in the flesh for it had been way too long. However as the evening was winding to a close Jamie said," I have an announcement."
"Oh great what is it this time this was all a ruse."
"Danny." Linda quietly reprimanded.

"No I promise you this is not a rouse" Jamie said as he laughed. "As you all are probably aware now that I am back I have a decision to make."
"Jamie if you tell us you're moving to all the way to California we are going to have a problem." Henry replied.

"No we are not moving out west however I am going to be staying with law."

"Well of course you are both careers are in law one is just law enforcement."

"Exactly Danny and I am going to be staying out of law enforcement."
"Why?"

"I had a feeling that was the way you were leaning." Frank said.

"You're not mad?"

"Of course not it is your life if you think law enforcement is no longer what you want to do than I support that decision however as the commissioner it will be hard to say goodbye to such a fine outstanding officer."

"We got your back" the table echoed"

"I do have to say though I never thought you would go to the dark side." "Danny and Erin retorted in unison.

"Sis I am not joining the dark side, the law firm we are with lets its employees take any case they want."
"Jamie how far up the ranks are you for I only know that to happen latter on."
"Well I guess you could say I am up there."

"How far?" Erin asked as she noticed the smile his fiancé was wearing.
Everyone was listening and there was a stunned silence. Until Erin who had just taken a sip of wine started to choke. As Erin caught her breath Joe spoke,"well leave it to Jamie to do nothing half way."

"Jamie congratulations but how you just joined whatever the firm is less than a year ago."
"Well when I woke up since I did not know anything about me except that I passed the bar they obviously could not get me placed in a law firm without proof that I was a registered lawyer so I had to retake the bar exam the FBI rushed the results and in a matter of days I had the results I passed with such high marks that just on scores alone the FBI was able to find me a gig with my current law firm with the marks they let me have lead on a defense case and they were so impressed with my skills I started to move up the ranks quickly. After helping the firm with five major cases I was promoted to partner."

"That's amazing Uncle Jamie does it usually happen that fast?" Sean said.

"No Sean not usually it depends on your boss and work ethic my boss and I clicked and he appreciated my work so he fast tracked me with a promotion. "
"I guess this mean you two will be battling it out in the courtroom. "Erin looked angry but Jamie did not seem to notice and said, "No we most likely won't."

"Oh please don't tell me you guys are leaving New York." Joe said.

"No we aren't its just I won't be likely seeing Erin in court."
"What do you mean by that."
"I mean that my specialty is civil law with a mix of criminal. More heavily focused on civil than criminal so we are likely to hardly ever see each other in the same courtroom."
Dinner conversation after a wile switched topics. At the end of the night everyone had a great time and Jamie was very relieved that his family had been so accepting of all the changes in his life for he knew in the end everything was as it should be and he would be living his dream after the wedding.

The wedding day arrived faster than anyone thought possible for one minute it felt like Jamie and Amelia just got back into town and then the next they were getting married however in real life there was about a two month time span between the wedding and when they returned to New York. On the day of the ceremony everything seemed to be going all right however being a Reagan Jamie always expected the other shoe to drop especially since last time his fiancé and he did not make it down the aisle. And sure enough Jamie was not disappointed, for he was currently standing in the middle of the churches waiting room when his brothers ended a call and said, "Jamie don't panic."

"Oh great something happened where is Amelia what is going on?"
"Jamie she is just running late to the church Erin just called and said their hair was taking longer than expected just breath they will be here in five minutes tops."
"Okay good I was worried there for a minute."
"Yeah we got that impression." Danny said with a smirk. That Jamie only returned with his I am not amused face.

A few minutes later Jamie was standing at alter as he watched his finance being walked down the aisle by her father. From there nothing else went wrong and at the end of the ceremony Jamie and Amelia were pronounced husband and wife. As they walked down the aisle no worries could penetrate the joy they felt for the only thing on there mind was the future.
