Riaru let the two officers out of their home as the clock cried out that the 22nd hour of the day had finally arrived. "I apologize again for the inconvenience that was placed on you two gentlemen. I hope you both have a good night." Riaru offered the men a short bow as Yū shut the door in their faces.

"Finally! They're gone," Yū sighed with relief. Riaru couldn't help but agree with the split. Another tired sigh escaped through their slightly parted lips as they looked towards the new hole in the wall. "You just had to slam the doorknob through the wall when you barged in. Didn't cha?"

"In my defense I had bigger things on my mind. It's not like I purposely sent it through the wall," the 19-year-old let out a quiet breath. "We'll deal with it in the morning. I'm exhausted." The black haired girl's mouth gaped into a yawn. "Let's just take our new medication and sleep."

"I don't think I've ever agreed with you more my dear Riaru," Yū replied with light laughter tainting her words.

"One pill, twice a day, every twelve hours... That's not to bad, compared to what we use to have it'll be a piece of cake!" Riaru said, trying to be positive as she stared down at the white pill that sat in their hand. "Not a problem at all."

"I can feel your heart racing you baka. Are you seriously still scared of taking pills?" The split asked.

"Of course not, I'm just... worried... about... swallowing... it..," Riaru replied as she glanced nervously down at the oblong shape of the prescription.

"That's called being scared," Yū retorted.

Without another thought Riaru threw the pill in their mouth before downing half a water bottle to wash it down, she rubbed their throat with an unpleasant look on her face. "It feels like it's stuck in my throat."

Yū let out an annoyed huff, "Doesn't matter, now let's go to sleep already."

The next day dawned like any other, the sun rose, the wind blew, people died, people were born, and the split and her host were ignorant to it all as they slept away the day.

Riaru did not want to get up, she did not want to move, and she certainly did not want to open her eyes, but Yū was rearing and ready to go as she had been locked away in their mind for the last few days. "Mooooveeeeee!" Yū groaned from their mind as the split pushed the drowsy nineteen-year-old out of the way. "I wanna do something, I deserve to be able to do something, I'm to awesome to be doing nothing!"

Riaru groaned in response, "Well what would you suggest? It's not like we have school, or a job, or income... or friends..."

"Are you seriously being this negative already? We literally just woke up. Plus we could always make friends with that investigator Suzuya," Yū stated as she wiggled their eyebrows. "You can't deny that he's one interesting character."

Riaru was wide awake now. "Don't. You. Dare," the black haired girl growled at her split. Yū raised their hands up in defense while laughter bubbled past her lips. Eventually she lowered their arms back to their sides as she made their way towards the bathroom to get ready for the day.

After a shower Riaru was finally awake enough to take over again, and sadly for Yū she was also awake enough to get them dressed. The nineteen-year-old was kind enough to bypass the dresses and pull on jeans and a cream sweater for Yū's sake. But the split still grumbled at the lack of black in the girl's outfit of choice.

"Black is the color of mourning; we are not in mourning. While I will not disagree with wearing black from time to time everyday is a bit of a stretch," Riaru sighed as she was forced to swallow another dose of her new medication. She coughed a bit as some water went down wrong, she took another small sip of the now almost empty water bottle. "When there comes a time to mourn then you may don the color as much as you want, but until then we'll wear it in moderation."

"Yeah, yeah, let's just leave already."

Riaru stood nervously on the sidewalk, her grey eyes peering up at the familiar building before her. The nineteen-year-old couldn't help up recall the embarrassing situation that had occurred here just the day before, though it felt so long ago now.

"Are you planning on loitering here for the next hour or are you going to go inside?" Yū asked impatiently.

"You weren't there... You can't possibly understand the uncomfortable situation that I'll be put in once we walk up those stairs." Riaru shivered at all of the deplorable possibilities that could take place the moment that they set foot across Anteiku's threshold.

"You're right, I don't understand. And yet, even if I could fathom the predicament that you've somehow managed to put yourself in... us in... I wouldn't care. Now move," Yū stated with a nonchalant attitude that was polar opposite of Riaru's current emotional state.

The black haired girl drew in a nervous breath before taking her first step towards Anteiku's entrance. Nothing had happened yet, but pink already dusted the girl's cheeks. No one seem to notice though as the grey eyed girl walked in to take a seat. Of course there was the normal greeting form the host working behind the bar, but his face was one she did not recognize. Their eyes glanced around the cafe looking for the familiar shock of black hair, but upon not seeing it the girl's heart rate seemed to return to its normal state.

"See? Nothing to be afraid of ya baka," Yū sighed, her tone hinted at the annoyance that simmered within her.

"That's very easy for you to say as, may I remind you, you were not there," Riaru breathed out as they took a seat at different table from yesterday as someone else had taken their regular seat. Looking around the two splits noticed that Anteiku had quite a few customers this afternoon, was it the weekend already?

"Hi, what can I get for you today?" The voice belonged to the purple haired waitress from the other day.

Riaru jumped a little in their seat at the suddenness of it. "Ah, yes, um... Just a cappuccino please," the girl answered as her order was jotted down.

The female ghoul stood staring at the nineteen-year-old form behind the bar as she began making the new order. Touka had honestly felt surprised at her return, surely she would have left at least a few days in between visits considering the situation Kaneki had put the poor girl in. Thankfully the halfbreed wasn't scheduled to work this afternoon, otherwise Anteiku's atmosphere was sure to be uncomfortable.

Once again, on the other side of the cafe, Riaru and Yū conversed within their head. "So another visit with Mori today?" Yū sighed as she took over to kick their legs up on the chair opposite of them. "That man just can't get enough of us, you'd think he'd take a small brake after what you told me about yesterday."

"Medically speaking, we are an interesting case, the fact that we can still function normally day to day is a miracle to many psychiatrists."

"No, what's a miracle is the fact that you actually swallowed that pill this morning without that much fuss," Yū said with a low chuckle.

"Don't make fun of my difficulties, now scootch over before my coffee gets here." Riaru scowled at her split as she emerged from their mind to take over. The two sat in silence for a few moments as they both broke away to their own thoughts.

Touka stared at the black haired girl as she finished making the cappuccino she had ordered. There was something different about her today, her outfit? Attitude perhaps? No, it was nothing as obvious as those, the change was a subtle one, one so subtle that she couldn't pick out exactly what had changed. The waitress sighed, perhaps nothing had. Touka picked up the cup of coffee cautiously before carrying it over to the strange girl and setting it down.

The nineteen-year-old didn't seem to process the cup before her as she debated on what to say next. "I'm sorry."

"What?" Yū asked confused as she came back from her own thoughts.

Riaru cleared the nerves from her throat as she repeated her earlier statement in a mere whisper, "I'm sorry... for acting out the way I did after we left the CCG... It was unacceptable and I sincerely apologize for making you go through what you did."

Yū took a moment to process the apology before letting out a heavy sigh. "As long as it doesn't happen again; I mean... I guess I did overstep my boundaries a bit with that one."

Riaru let out a releived chuckle as she finally noticed the coffee before them. "Trust me I never want to have to go through that ever again. You should have seen me, I was paranoid all the time and I couldn't get my mind off the thought that he could come out at anytime. And for a while..." The nineteen-year-old picked up the warm mug and brought it to her lips, she paused. "I thought you were never coming back." Riaru took a sip to prevent herself from talking any further. Right before spewing it right back into the mug.

The two splits gagged on the taste of rot in their mouth, both ignorant of the stares of the entire cafe.

Yū had the audacity to laugh after a few seconds as they struggled to wiped the coffee from their mouth with their sleeve. "Mori wasn't lying when he said it would mess with our tastebuds."

Riaru gagged again. "How does this have anything to do with Dr. Mori?"

"He said that new medication would mess with our tastebuds remember?"

The purple haired waitress rushed over with a rag in hand. "Are you all right ma'am?" Touka asked worriedly.

Riaru held out her hand where she could see, it shook uncontrollably. "Yes, I apologize, my... medication, I just forgot that it... Oh dear." The black haired girl smothered another dose of rot as it attempted to come back up out of their throat. "It's new, I just forgot... I apologize, the doctor warned me... I guess I just didn't give his words much thought." Riaru attempted to pull out their wallet with trembling hands. "I should probably go."

"Don't-don't worry about it," Touka spoke carefully as she looked down upon Riaru who sat panting as she tried to pull out several yen. "It's... on the house, please don't worry about it." What ever it was.

Riaru's movements were weak as she carefully put her wallet back into her lap and laid her head onto the table. "I'm terribly sorry," the girl whispered, to Yū she added. "I really hope that it isn't this bad with everything else."

Then, standing up on slightly shaky legs the girl walked out Anteiku's door. Shock donned Touka's face as the purple haired waitress stared at her one of her strangest customers. What the hell just happened? She walked back behind the counter after cleaning up the mess the girl had made and looked towards the milk that she had gotten out a while ago. Cautiously she leaned over to smell it, the girl scrunched her nose up, it didn't smell any worse than usual.

Riaru threw up the remains of the coffee in a potted plant outside.
