I'm back my loyal friends, I want to once again thank everyone who has made this story as popular as it is, thank you all for the support and wonderful comments.

"Time to punch the bag." Doreen said as she got off the treadmill and headed to the punching bag, Doreen's parent's where repainting the room that her home gym resided in, so she currently could be found at the local gym, until the room was repainted. But currently she had other thoughts on her mind, like her interview last night, she couldn't help but feel that she had done a terrible job.

"Why did I say the police would have to answer to me?" she whispered to herself as she thought about the interview, it was something she had said in the heat of the moment, and she knew she could not take it back.

As she walked up to the punching bag, she noticed a very familiar face punching the bag, it was the reporter from last night, Jacob Worthington, and she felt awkward as she watched him punch the bag, and he was doing a very good job beating up on the punching bag, as he looked to his left and noticed Doreen standing there.

"You want the bag?" he asked her simply as he puled a towel out of his pocket and wiped sweat from his forehead.

"I can wait for you to get done." Doreen answered honestly.

"It's alright, I've been punching the bag for almost half and hour, I think it knows who's boss." Jacob said with a smile, and that made Doreen laugh.

"Are you Jacob Worthington, I saw you on the news last night." Doreen said in a very convincing lie.

"That's me, Jacob Worthington, investigative reporter for the L.A. Times." Jacob said with a curt smile.

"Investigative reporter," Doreen said in an impressed tone, "that must be a very hard job." she said honestly.

"It's hard sometimes to find the truth, but boy does it feel good when you either find, or stumble upon the truth," Jacob said with a smile, "forgive me for not asking sooner, but what's your name?" he asked her.

"Doreen." she said simply as she held out her hand for a handshake, which he took.

"Not a name I hear very often, if you don't mind me asking, you read any of my work in the paper?" he asked her in a sincere tone.

"I'm sure my father does, but I just moved back from internship New York, so I haven't really read your work, sorry." she said honestly.

"It's alright, I'm sure your job was more important, trust me, being an investigative reporter is not easy work, you got to find the missing piece a lot of times." he informed Doreen.

"I'm sure it's hard work," she said honestly, "is there anything I should know about the city since I've been away?" she asked him.

"Where do I start," he said in an amused tone as he rubbed his chin, "well I'm not sure if your aware of this or not, but we have a recently elected new mayor." Jacob said, and that surprised Doreen.

"Mayor Bradley got voted out," she said in a surprised tone, for the city loved mayor Bradley, "I thought he was well loved, he's friends with Tony Stark after all." Doreen said.

"Well our new mayor, Barron Anderson used that friendship to his advantage, and won a tightly contested race, it was 51 percent to 49 percent after the re-count was confirmed, and truth be told," he said as he looked around to make sure they wouldn't be overheard, "I'm investigating the election," he said, and that confused Doreen.

"Why are you investigating the election?" she asked him.

"Let's just say, I wasn't suspicious, until certain events came to be," Jacob said with a sad sigh.

"What certain events are you talking about?" Doreen asked, her curiosity quite peaked.

"My elder brother was an investigative reporter before me, and he suspecting that Mayor Anderson won a fraud filled election, and when he started investigating leads... he was found dead two weeks later, they found him floating in a murky canal," Jacob said with a very sad sigh as he remembered his older brother, and Doreen almost thought she should hug the man before her, but he continued before she could take the chance, "I've sworn to try and find out if my brother was correct." Jacob said as his phone started vibrating and he picked it up and answered a text message.

"What will you do if he was correct?" Doreen asked sincerely.

"I'm sorry, but that's all I'm willing to say, I hope you understand." Jacob said as he quickly walked out of the gym, leaving Doreen to ponder what she had just learned, when suddenly her phone began ringing, and she recognized the number as captain Jim, and she answered it after making sure there was nobody in earshot.

"Squirrel Girl, I hope I'm not calling at a bad time." Jim said sincerely.

"I'm not doing anything at the moment, what can I do for the cities finest?" she asked the police captain.

"I would like you to come by the city morgue, there's something I would like you to see..." Jim said as the line went dead.

Cliffhanger, so what do you think is going down, please tell me in the comments what you think about what happened this chapter, and what she's being called to see, I hopefully will get a new chapter out before to long.
