Hi guys, it's been a while. Anyway, thanks to anybody who has stuck with me and is still reading, and thanks to Linneagb for reviewing the previous chapter. And so, without further ado, I present to you chapter 9;

Chapter 9:

Jasper felt someone shaking his shoulders and he groaned. Alice climbed up and sat on him stomach, grinning down at him. "I am under strict instruction to have all of my siblings up and ready by the time our parents return home from the airport with the rest of the family. So get up, I need your help."
Jasper opened his eyes and looked at her. "I can't get up if you're sitting on me."
Alice stood up. "Good. You wake up Emmett and phone Edward. I'll get the girls."

He sat up. "No, wait. Swap me. Emmett for Aiofe. Emmett won't hit a girl, and I don't want to have a black eye when everybody gets back."
Alice shrugged. "Sure, just hurry up." She skipped out of his room and he heard her footsteps down the hall.

Jasper got out of bed and looked at his alarm clock. It was later than he had expected. He yawned and rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he walked out of him room. The wooden floor of the hallway was cold on his bare feet. He wandered up the stairs and knocked lightly on Aiofe's door. There was no answer. He opened the door slowly and peered inside. He could make out the shape of Aiofe on the bed. He closed the door behind him and walked over. She was fast asleep, a few dark curls sat on her cheek and he noticed she was pouting slightly. He reached over and gently shook her shoulder. Her big, dark eyes fluttered open and she stared silently at him.

Jasper smiled at her. "Good morning."
Aiofe blew her hair from her face. "Hello."
His smiled widened. "I'm sorry that I had to wake you early, but Mom and Dad are away to pick the family up from the airport. They want us to all be up and ready and breakfasted for them coming home."
She nodded. "Okay."
He patted her shoulder gently. "Right, I'll leave you to get dressed. Then just come downstairs and somebody will sort something for breakfast." He got up to leave.
"Jasper, wait. Could you do me a favour?"
He turned around and she held her arms out. "Give me a help up?"
He pulled her to her feet as gently as he could and let go of her when he was sure she was steady. "Do you always have a lot of difficulty getting yourself up?"
Aiofe shrugged. "Junior's heavy, but it's worse when I'm tired."

Jasper left Aiofe to get dressed and went back to his own room. He met Alice in the corridor. "Is Aiofe up?"
He nodded. Alice grinned at him. "Good. Now go and get dressed. Don't worry about phoning Edward, you took so long waking Aiofe that I phoned him. They are on their way over." She pushed him in the direction of his room and skipped away. He shook his head and sighed at her excitement.

Jasper found a pile of clothes on the foot of his bed. He quickly changed into them and went downstairs. Alice was now sweeping the floor while scolding Emmett, who looked sheepish. He couldn't help but laugh and Alice turned her glare to him. "This isn't funny. They could be back any minute now and this place is a mess. Rose is making breakfast, but it may be a while. In the meantime, Emmett can bring in more firewood and you can make me a cup of tea."

He wandered into the kitchen and put the kettle on. As he was pulling cups out of the cupboard he heard footsteps approach and Aiofe appeared in the doorway of the kitchen. He smiled at her. "Would you like a cup of tea?"
She shook her head. "I don't drink tea. What's for breakfast?"
"Rose's making French toast, it'll be ready in about fifteen minutes."

There was a crash and Rosalie swore. Aiofe jumped in surprise and Jasper turned around. There was a puddle of raw egg on the floor, surrounding a jug. Rose picked up the jug and threw it at the sink. It hit the metal with a loud bang. Aiofe walked over to the sink. The she rinsed out the jug and put it on the bunker beside Rose. "I'll clean the egg up." She grabbed the cloth from beside the sink and crouched down beside the puddle of egg. Rose thanked her and went back to cracking more eggs.

Jasper watched Aiofe and she tried to clean up the egg. After a few seconds she suddenly grabbed the bunker and hauled herself up. She ran past Jasper with one hand over her mouth, and her face pale. He saw her fight with the handle on the front door before she managed to shove it open and run outside. He could hear her throwing up.

Jasper left the tea and filled a glass up with water before jogging out the open front door. Aiofe was leaning over the porch banister, throwing up into the flower beds below. He held the water in one hand and started rubbing her back with the other. She stood still, leaning on the banister. "Are you done?"
She nodded and looked up at him. He handed her the glass of water and watched as she rinsed her mouth out and spat it out over the banister. He carefully led her over to the porch swing and sat beside her, with an arm round her shoulders.

Aiofe leaned against him and sipped the rest of the water. It took a while for her to stop shaking. Jasper didn't say anything, he just pulled her close to him and rocked them on the swing. Aiofe looked up at him. "Thanks." She whispered.
He smiled at her. "No problem. Are you okay now?"
She nodded. "I think so. It was just the egg, the way it smelled."
"It's all right. Why don't we go inside? It's freezing out here." He took the glass from her and helped her up. Her took her inside and sat her down on the sofa. "I'll go and get you some more water."

He took the glass into the kitchen and was met by Alice. "What happened?"
He rinsed out the glass. "Aiofe tried to clean up some spilt egg and the smell of it made her sick. She threw up in the garden. Could you pass me some saltines from over there? I want to try and get her to eat something."
Alice handed him a packet of crackers. "Is she okay? I'll hose the garden to clear it away."
Jasper nodded. "She's alright now. Thanks."

He took the glass of water and a plate with some crackers to Aiofe. He sat down beside her, "Bon appetit." Aiofe looked at the crackers and pushed the plate back towards him.
"I'm not hungry."
Jasper put the place back on her lap. "Eat."

He watched as Aiofe slowly ate the crackers and finished the water. She put the dishes on the coffee table when she was finished and smiled at him. He returned her smiled. "Well done. How about a game?" He gestured to the gaming console that was set up beside the TV. Aiofe nodded. Jasper crouched down in front of the stack of games and picked out the 2 player ones. He brought the smaller stack back to the couch and handed it to Aiofe. "Your choice."

Aiofe handed him a game and he nodded. "Good choice." He took the game over to the console and proceeded to set it up and explain the rules of Aiofe. Emmett wandered in rom the dining room. "Can I play?"
Jasper nodded and handed the each a controller. Emmett flopped down on the sofa at the other side of Aiofe from Jasper.

A few minutes later they heard a car engine outside. Aiofe looked up a Jasper, her eyes wide. He smiled at her. "Relax. It's only Edward. Nobody exciting."
They went back the game. The front door opened and multiple sets of footsteps could be heard. "What game are you playing?" Renesmee skipped over and sat on the arm of the sofa beside Emmett. "The one with the goblins."
"I don't like that one. It's too hard. The horrible goblins always kill me. When you start playing another game could I join in?"
Aiofe leaned round Emmett to grin at her. "Of course."

A while and a few game levels later they heard more tires on the gravel driveway. Renesmee turned around in her seat to look out the window. "It's them! Can I run out to see them?"
Edward shook his head. "Give them a minute to get their stuff out of the car, you'll see them when they come in."

Car doors opened and closed outside and excitable chatter could be heard outside. Many sets of footsteps rattled on the porch steps and the front door swung open, letting is a gust of cold air and a crowd of people. Carlisle laughed as he walked into the living room, "And of course my children are playing video games."
Jasper quickly paused the game and smiled at him over the back of the sofa. He noticed somebody walk into the living room behind Carlisle and waved. "Hey, come over here and meet your new cousin! You'll love her. She's great." He nudged Aiofe's arm as he spoke and smiled reassuringly at her.

Aiofe looked up from the controller on her lap. Jasper felt her stiffen beside him as her green eyes locked onto a pair of brown ones, set in a masculine face surrounded by dirty blonde hair. Jasper looked between Aiofe and their cousin as they stared at each other. The boy stammered something incomprehensible and ran out of the room. As he broke eye contact Jasper heard Aiofe start to cry, he looked down again to see that she had wrapped her arms around herself and her shoulders were shaking with sobs.

Emmett jumped up from the sofa and ran after the boy, shouting. "Reuben!"

As I said at the top, it has been a while since I updated, and I apologize for the delay. And this chapter was very short, so I apologize again.
