I HAVE A 4 DAY WEEKEND BABY! That means I have time to do this, the Reviewer Special and the next chapter! Anyway, enough of me rambling! Let's start!
Load Game… Start!
Chapter 10: Double Teaming It!
(Melissa's POV)
I've been having an interesting couple of days so far. First, I'm in a video game.
Second, my best friend dragged me here and has super powers.
Third, I'm an Aura Guardian and Mew is my teacher.
How can things get worse?
"I wonder where Mew is?" I whispered to myself as I waited for my DNA Pokémon. I just learned how to channel my Aura and can even make an Aura Sphere now to defend myself. Now, I'm here, sitting on the stump where a tree used to be, waiting for Mew to come back to her body since she switched with something and left her body in my care. It's a little weird seeing Mew with blue, glowing eyes, "She could've at least told me what she was checking." I muttered and took out the Quick Ball containing Ave, my Starly. During the talk to Jubilife, Dylan told me how he got Sparkle as his Starter, 'They should really improve the way to catch Pokémon.' I thought. Suddenly, I saw a bright light in the forest. I quickly picked up Mew and rushed towards the light. When I arrived, I saw two Pikachus. One knocked out, swirly eyes and all, and another one holding onto him. Then I noticed the hat,
"Dylan!?" I exclaimed. The Pikachu holding onto my friend opened her eyes and dropped him on the ground. She had pink glowing eyes,
'Sorry Melissa. I can't really control my powers since I'm so low level and I accidently made Sparkle have a copy of my mind.' Mew's voice said in my head while the Pikachu in front of me scratched behind her ears with an embarrassed look on her face. The pink glow in her eyes the disappeared and Mew's eyes went back to normal, while Sparkle looked around, confused,
"Pika…" Sparkle muttered as she looked around before looking at her unconscious Trainer, "Pi ka! Ka chu ka! Pika Pika Pika!" Sparkle exclaimed as she rushed towards her Trainer and tried waking him up. I thought about Pikachu's method of waking someone up in the anime until I realized that a lightning bolt was more of a tickle to an Electric Type than a wake-up call.
"Pi ka… CHU!"
"YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Well, that got thrown out the window.
(Dylan's POV)
"WHY ARE YOU SHOCKING ME?!" I yelled out in pain as Sparks freaking fired a Thunderbolt at me, which is currently going through my Pikachu nervous system, "OH GOD, IT HURTS!"
"Sorry!" Sparks said as she stopped the attack, letting me collapse back to the ground as she walked up to me, "I didn't think that would work."
"Well, IT WORKS!" I yelled out as I shook off the burnt fur on me, "And next time, don't follow Ash's Pikachu's advice." I groaned as the soreness kicked in,
"Who's Ash?"
"Nothing…" I groaned before I looked up and saw Melissa… and a Mew. We all froze as we looked at each other. I quickly turned back into a human and stared at the Mew. There was a long silence before Sparkle kneeled down,
"Lady Mew, I am glad to be in your presence." My Starter said, "What are you doing here at this time of night?"
"Sparks, don't be formal with me. Really, I'm getting sick of that stuff." Mew said as Sparkle stood up with her hands behind her back, "I'm here because I'm Melissa's Pokémon and her teacher." My Pikachu gasped before jumping her and rubbing her cheek against her's,
"WOO! I GET TO HANG OUT WITH A LEGENDARY POKÉMON FROM ARCEUS HIMSELF!" Sparks cheered as she started uh… hugging the Legendary, "This will be so cool! We'll be playing together! We'll go berry picking! Oh, I have to tell Mimi about this."
"Please… stop… hugging…" Mew wheezed out as she started turning into her Shiny colours (which was blue),
'She really is a strong Pikachu.' I thought, until I realized I'm still frozen. I quickly shook my head and walked up to Melissa with a glare. She started sweating and it got worse with each stop I took. I looked into her eyes, and said, "You asshole. YOU GOT A FREAKING LEGENDARY BEFORE ME!" Melissa gave a sigh of relief before smirking,
"Well, I guess that means that I'm the better Trainer." She said,
"No." I muttered before I grabbed her shoulders, "You got Mew from Arceus, didn't you?"
"Yeah, I got Mew so she can help me control my powers."
"Let me guess, you're a Psychic."
"Nope."
"Copy Pokémon moves?"
"Not really."
"Have my powers?"
"Not even close." I thought for a few seconds before snapped my fingers,
"Aura Guardian?"
"Bingo." I cheered a little in my head before smiling at my friend,
"You know, I always thought they were supposed to be guys."
"That's what I said!"
"Hello, fangirl alert!" Mew yelled at us as Sparkle chased her around, "HELP ME!"
"Oh come on! I just want to feel your fur!" Sparkle yelled, "It's so soft!"
"Is this what I get for being undeniably cute!?" Me & Melissa started laughing at the scene in front us. We kept laughing until they were all tired out, "That Pikachu *pant* is a psycho." Mew wheezed out as she floated into Melissa's arms,
"But, aren't you floating all the time?" Melissa pointed out as I picked up my tired Pokémon. I couldn't help but chuckle a little,
"Hey, floating all day at my level takes a lot out of you." Mew answered tiredly, "I'm hungry…" When she said that, I face palmed,
"Crap! We forgot about Dawn!" I explained to them, "She must be worried sick about us, and from some of my false memories she can't cook to save her life. Lucky we have insta-curry for 3 people and enough Pokémon food to last us a week."
"Crap! Your right! Let's get back." Melissa said as she nodded. We both put our Pokémon into their Pokéballs and ran back to camp, with an angry Dawn there. I was about to apologize, when I got attack by Bubblebeam, which Piplup kept firing at me with,
"That's for making us worry about you two!" Dawn yelled as she turned her back on us, "I thought you were lost!"
"Sorry, we lost track of time." Melissa apologized before everyone's stomach growled, "Let's eat before we hit the hay." Dawn nodded before calling Piplup off me and calling out Mimi and a Pachirisu. I guess she caught one while we were away. Melissa did the same, but left Mew in her ball. I guess she would feed her later. After recovering from the attack, I called out my team. After setting up the bowls, filling them up with Pokémon food and made our dinner, we all dug in. It was pretty quiet, apart from some of the other Pokémon talking with each other and the distant sounds of late night training and battling in the distance and the occasional Bidoof or Shinx. I knew Dawn was going to give me the silent treatment after this. It was in my false memories, the first time when I started Dawn's nickname "Dee Dee". I sighed as I saw Dawn finished, called back her Pokémon after they did and went to our tent. Melissa finished next and did the same, but not without getting out some food for Mew. I groaned after I called back my team and went to me & Dawn's tent. I groaned even louder when I saw that she put my sleeping bag outside. I didn't bother even checking if the tent was locked or not. I just dragged my sleeping bag near the fire, hoping that it wasn't too close to be set on fire, changed into my PJs since I was practically alone and climbed in,
"I have to make it up to Dawn tomorrow." I told myself before letting myself fall into dream land.
(Next Day!)
"For the hundredth time today Dawn, I'm sorry!" I told her as we started out journey to Jubilife City. Last night wasn't the best of sleeps and I was pretty tired, but I wasn't going to let Dawn be late for her contest which (from what Dawn told Melissa who told me) was about 4 days away. I sighed again as Dawn didn't even notice my very existence, 'I really need to make it up to her.'
"Dylan, give it up." Melissa said, "She's not going to talk to you until she calms down. When does she start speaking you anyway?"
"At this rate, until I die." I muttered in response as dark clouds floated above my head. There goes my chance to be with her being more than my sister, "I'm so screwed." Melissa sighed at my depressed state,
"Dylan, she'll talk to you sooner or later. Just give it time." I thought about and I agreed with her, but I'm scared that it would be a year before she would start talking to me. The last time (well, in my false memories), she managed to go a month without talking to me. Hell, even when we had to talk to each other and work together, she would give me a look and I would instantly give in and do all the work for her. Not like I minded though. I liked working alone, just not all the time. But it did cheer me up a bit and made me look up. My eyes widened at what was in the distance,
"Jubilife City, HERE WE COME!" I exclaimed as I broke into a sprint. Melissa chuckled and ran with me too. I looked back and saw Dawn shaking her head at me. I swore I saw her smile but I couldn't see it properly as she ran too. I shook my head before focusing on the destination in front of us before grinning madly. I haven't felt this excited in a while. When we all made it to the entrance, we all gasped,
"This place is freaking huge." Melissa muttered as we saw the bustling city. There were so many different Pokémon and people there we couldn't even tell the difference. This was way better looking than what it looked like in the game, "We should check into a Poke-Center before we do anything else." Me & Dawn nod before we made our way to the Poke-Center. After a quick heal of our Pokémon, we made it to our rooms to relax for a bit before we explore the city. I saw that there was a newspaper on the bedside table so I picked it up and started reading.
(A few minutes later…)
(Melissa's POV)
After I grabbed something to eat from the cafeteria, I went to me and Dawn's room. I was about to enter when I heard yelling inside of the room. I thought about if I should butt in or eavesdrop but my body decided for me as I pressed my ear against the door,
"-en to me! You don't under-" Okay, that was obviously Dylan,
"No! If it's just another one of your half-assed attempts to apologize, I'm not taking it!" And that was Dawn,
'They're really going at it.' Mew said. I guess she was using her Psychic powers to hear what they were saying,
"Yeah, they are." I whispered as I kept listening,
"I'm trying to s-"
"That you're sorry Dylan? That I shouldn't have worried about you while you're out there alone!? News flash: I did worry! This is why that stupid plan to attack Team Galactic head-on is reckless and can get you hunted! Or worse, killed!"
"Okay, whoa! One, this isn't about my plan! And two, this is ab-"
"About you being the big hero you should be and stop some organization that could be totally harmless! It always has to be about you!"
"Hold up! It's not about me! It's about you going to do something really stupid in the near future!"
"Oh, so I'm dumb now!?"
"I didn't mean that!"
"Yes you did!"
"No! I! DIDN'T!"
"Heh, really? Then why are you sweating?"
"I'm sweating because, because, ARGH!" I knew what was going to happen next so I jumped back and hid behind a plant. The door then busted open, revealing a very angry Dylan, "I'VE HAD ENOUGH!" He yelled as he went to his room, with Dawn following him. Before she could ask why, he opened the door, looking ready to go to the next town, "I'm going to Oreburgh City and getting my first Gym Badge." He said as he walked away, "I was trying to help, but you know what? Screw you! Screw you and your stupid freaking contest! I hope you lose, Dawn! Because I won't be there to see you fail!" Was the last thing Dylan said before storming out of the Pokémon Center. I knew he wasn't going straight to the first Gym since he was going to get a Poketch first before leaving but right now Dawn was crying and I need to comfort her,
"There, there Dawn." I say as I kneel down and hugged her, "No need to worry."
"That's my line." Dawn sobbed, "I-I thought h-he wa-w-was g-g-g-going to wa-watch me…"
"I guess he doesn't like Pokémon Contests." I told her. Dawn shook her head as she rested it on my shoulder,
"He does. He used to watch it with me and mum all the time when we were kids. He would always cheer for the ones with the toughest looking Pokémon while I cheered for the cute ones." She then chuckled a little. It was empty of all emotion and personality, "We would always bet our desserts to see which Pokémon won, and would give our desserts to mum when we both lost." She then sighed as she tightened her hand into a fist before relaxing, "But you know what, I don't need him. I got you, right?" I hesitated on answering before sighing,
"Yeah Dawn. He's a jerk. I can be the Champ later." I told her. She looked up at me with blood shot eyes,
"Will you watch me?" She asked. I hugged her and nodded, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." I say as I looked at Dylan's room. I tilted Dawn's head up, "Now, let's see what you've got for your routine."
Dawn just smiled at me brightly.
(3 days later. 17 hours before the Jubilife Contest starts)
(3rd Person View)
Dawn couldn't sleep. She's been practicing ever since her brother left to become a Pokémon Champion by himself, and she did nothing but practice. But, for some reason, every routine she does, every one that she made sure they were perfect at, wasn't working at all. She pushed her Pokémon to their limit and they were determined to make it the best performance ever, but every time they actually did a routine Dawn had planned for every type when she was just starting Trainer School, they weren't working at all. Her mother told her they would work and when she asked her again a week before graduation, she said they were going to work with hesitation.
THEN WHY WASN'T IT WORKING!?
She did them perfectly, her Pokémon were doing it perfectly, she was sure the freaking world around her was helping as well, but they were just… wrong. They were wrong! EVERTHING WAS WRONG!
Maybe she was wrong.
She was getting pretty angry at her Pokémon and she has lost a lot of sleep just thinking it over. And her brother abandoning her…
No, it wasn't her fault. It was his.
He messed her up. He left without even giving any encouragement or even a proper good-bye. All he said that he wished that she would fail horribly and not even come close to becoming the Top Coordinator. She was going to show him. Oh, she was going to run it in his face when she marches back home after he loses the Sinnoh League and tell him to suck her giant freaking trophy as she rubs her Top Coordinator ribbon in his stupid little face.
She was going to get the last laugh.
(3 hours before the Jubilife Contest starts)
"WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!?" Everyone in the city looked at the direction of the loud 'What', seeing it was coming from the Pokémon Center, where the blue-haired source was standing in.
(Melissa's POV)
"Please don't tell me it's true." I only sighed and shook my head,
"Sorry Dawn, but you can't enter."
"Why!?" Dawn whined. I sighed again and held up a newspaper I found in Dylan's room,
"You can't enter because this year they're only allowing people with partners enter. I'm sorry Dawn, but you can't enter until next year." Dawn grabbed my shoulders and pulled me closer,
"Can't you be my partner?" Dawn asked. To be honest, I hate Pokémon Contests. It felt like a waste of time in the game and it sure feels like a bigger waste of time here,
"Sorry Dawn, but I declined the Ribbon Case back at Sandgem Town and the rules dictate that all participants of the Contest must have a case to hold their Ribbons in, or else they get ruined and you can't prove you've got those Ribbons legitimately, meaning-"
"No Grand Festival meaning no title meaning no big trophy." Dawn groaned as dark clouds floated above her head as she went into a fetal position, "All that work for nothing. I'm so screwed."
"That's what Dylan said about a week ago." I muttered to myself. I then saw Dawn's eyes snap open and stood up slowly, "Dawn?"
"…"
"Dawn…?"
"…"
"Hello, Sinnoh to Dawn? Do you read me?"
"…He has a Ribbon Case."
"Wait, kept that?"
"He knows all my routines even, what he calls, the 'Co-op' ones."
'Must be a part of his false memories.' I thought,
"And he knew about the Double Team Contest this year." Okay, now I know why she's talking about stuff like that,
"And he was going to tell you that."
"And we would've went to that Contest,"
"Win."
"And make it to the Grand Festival together." Dawn finished off as she walked towards the exit,
"Where are you going?" I call out to her. She looks back and gives me the most determined look I've ever seen,
"I am going to find Dylan, apologize, drag him to the Contest Center and WIN THE WHOLE THING AND BECOME THE BEST TOP COORDINATORS IN SINNOH!" Dawn declared loudly before turning around…
And facing her target.
(Dylan's POV)
"Oh, hey Dawn." I say weakly as I go past her and went to Nurse Joy and asked her to heal my Pokémon. I was sure looked like I've just been through Hell. And I did,
"Dylan! You're back!" A familiar voice yelled from behind me. I turned around and see Melissa. I thought she was going to hug so I spread my arms out.
I didn't expect the gut punch though.
"THAT was for making Dawn cry!" Melissa yelled into my ear,
"Okay, I deserved that." I wheezed out as I slowly stood up before she hugged me, "And that's for being my stupid friend."
"Thanks?" I say before I pushed her away, "Look, I'm still going to Oreburgh City. Actually, I did get to Oreburgh City. I even met Barry a few times too and battled him just a few hours ago. I won but my Pokémon were pretty beaten. I'm just here to heal my Pokémon and buy a tent since they don't sell those in Oreburgh."
"Dylan!" Another voice exclaimed,
"Ugh, wh-" I didn't finish what I was about to say as Dawn tackled me to the ground. I blushed at her action. I may be angry at her but I still love her, "Dawn?"
"Dylan! I'm sorry! I didn't mean t-" I didn't let her finish her sentence as I pushed her off me, "Dylan?"
"Look, I'm just here to buy a stupid tent and leave. That's it." I told her with a lot of force in my voice, "I have more important things to do than watch you screw up." I then picked up my Pokémon and thanked the Nurse Joy there, "Good luck on your dumb contest." I say as I waved and went towards the exit,
"I can't." I stopped before my foot went out the door,
"What was that?"
"I can't enter. Not this year." I sighed as I smirked,
"You found out about the Double Team requirement this year, didn't you?"
"Yes…" Dawn muttered as I looked back. She was rubbing her arm embarrassingly,
"And you want me to be your partner because Melissa hates contests."
"Wait, YOU WHAT!?" Dawn exclaimed as she glared at Melissa, who was slowly heading towards a plant,
"Wait, you actually like contests?" Melissa asked me as she walked backwards away from the glaring blunette,
"Best part of the game." I mouthed back. It was a secret that I have. I have all my Pokémon get Ribbons and it was pretty cool, although a bit tedious. I shook my head amusingly and went out the door,
"Dylan, where are you going?" Dawn asked as I saw her eyes fill up with tears. I sighed and simply say,
"I'm going to buy a suit. I need to look nice for the contest after all." Next thing I knew, I was on the gorund with Dawn on top.
I could get used to this.
(One hour before the contest starts)
*Sigh* "There goes my tent money." I groaned as I waited for Dawn to get out of her dressing room, "I worked so hard to beat those freaking kids."
"No need to worry Dylan." Dawn said through the door, "You can still sleep in my tent."
"Hey, I bought that tent!" I pointed out,
"That you gave me when you left."
"I knew I should've brought it with me when I hit the cave. Anyway, you have the routine in your memory."
"Like the back of my hand."
"Did Pachirisu learn Electro Ball properly?"
"She's doing it right no-AH!"
"Dawn!? What is it?"
"Pachirisu, you messed up my hair!"
"Sorry." I chuckled a little after hearing the Pachirisu. I had to train her to use Electro Ball in my Pikachu form since Sparkle didn't know how and I didn't have enough time to teach it to her,
"She says 'Sorry'. And her name is Pawa."
"Thank you, Dylan." The two say at the same time,
"You're welcome ladies. Now hurry up, the contest is starting soon!"
"Got it." Dawn said, "A-Are you nervous?"
"Kinda. You?"
"Let me put this lightly: I'M FREAKING OUT!" I sighed and went into her dressing room. She was dressed in the pink dress I've seen in the anime and her hair was done up. She looked exactly what she looked like there, except she didn't have her choker, "Oh, where is it?" I looked around and saw that she was sitting on it,
"Look underneath." I told her. She looked down at the bottom of her chair, "I meant your ass." Dawn stood up and quickly grabbed the choker, "Here, let me help you put it on." I say as she gave it to me and sat down. I put the choker on her neck, completing the outfit, "You look beautiful, Dawn."
"Th-Thanks." Dawn stuttered a little. I looked at my Poketch and saw the time,
"Crap! The contest is starting in 30 minutes!" I wonder if Pokémon time was faster here than on Earth, "We're on first so let's get going!"
"Right." Dawn nodded before taking in a deep breath and standing up, "Ready?"
"Oh yeah." I respond with a confident smile, "Let's do this, together." I then held out my hand. She automatically grabbed it,
"Together."
(Contest Floor)
"Okay, ladies and gentlemen!" The announcer said, getting the attention of the audience. Me and Dawn were halfway through the entrance and saw the many people there, "Welcome to the Jubilife City Pokémon Contest!" Everyone then cheered, some even going as far as dressing up like their favourite Pokémon and talking like them rather than cheering,
"People really like contests here." I muttered before I turned to Dawn while the announcer started explaining the rules. I knew they were going to be the rules from the anime so I ignored them and went up to Dawn, who was shaking like crazy, "You okay?"
"N-No!" Dawn exclaimed, causing me to jump back, "What if something goes wrong!? What if we suck and we get low scores! I'M FREAKING OUT HERE, DYLAN! I'M FREAKING OUT!" She is also a lot more nervous here,
"Dawn! Calm the hell down!" I said as I grabbed her shoulders as her breathing started slowing down, "Just… imagine there's no one else here. No one else except our Pokémon and me. Got it?" When Dawn finally calmed down, she nodded, "Okay. Let's do this thing!"
"And now for our first contestants. Coming all the way from Twinleaf Town, we have Dawn Berlitz! And her partner, Dylan Palms!" CRAP ON MY SANDWICH! I forgot about the Pokédex calling me by my real name,
"'Dylan Palms'?" Dawn asked as we started walking towards the Contest Grounds,
"Uh… I told them to give me an alias." I quickly lied, "I don't want the competition to know that the son & daughter of a Top Coordinator are partners."
"Well… that's understandable." Dawn said as we walked onto the Contest Grounds, receiving a lot of cheers. We had no fans so it was just people wanting to cheer for everyone,
"Remember contestants. Only one Pokémon per Trainer and use can't use that Pokémon after the round." The announcer said,
"Alright, let's get this party started!" I yelled out as I threw out one of my Pokémon, "GAME ON, BELLA!"
"Hello everyone!" Bella the Ducklett greeted as she appeared in a burst of rain drops,
"What a Pokémon! I've never seen anything like that! From what our researchers are telling me, this Pokémon is a Ducklett from the Unova Region! This type of Pokémon cannot be found anywhere in Sinnoh!" The announcer said, earning a lot of gasps. I couldn't help but smile at that,
"Piplup, SPOTLIGHT!" Dawn exclaimed as she sent out the Penguin,
"I'm glad to be here!" Piplup greeted as well as he appeared, with blue bolts accompanying her. Both of our Pokémon land on their feet and looked at each other, "Ready Bella?"
"Yep." My Ducklett replied,
"Let's start it up!" I yell out as me and Dawn walked in the middle and held hands. I had to fight off a small blush, "Bella, WHIRLWIND!" I commanded as we closed our eyes, hoping the weights in our shoes work,
"Okay! WHIRLWIND!" Bella called out as I felt a massive amount of wind surround us. Luckily, Dawn had made her dress stay down, yet still look like it was flowing in the wind. How she did that? I don't know but I went with it. I felt my feet leave the ground, as well as hear a lot of gasps,
"This is incredible! Dylan's Ducklett is using Whirlwind to lift them off the ground! A very powerful move indeed! Question is: What will Piplup do?" The announcer asked,
"Piplup! Bubblebeam!" Dawn yelled out as she held onto me tighter, I opened my eyes and saw we were about a story off the ground as Piplup started firing bubbles into the tornado. I touched Dawn's hip, giving her the signal, "Now, WATER GUN!" Soon, after a few more seconds, we were in a water tornado, as the bubbles glistened in the sunlight. The water was transparent enough to see us in the tornado, and with the weights working like they were supposed to, we were like on solid ground,
"Dawn, open your eyes." I whispered into her ear. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that we were in the tornado,
"It's working. It's working!" Dawn cheered before I put a finger on her lips,
"No cheering yet. We still have to complete the routine." I reminded her. She nodded as I put my hand on her hip and she put her hand on my shoulder. We waited 2 seconds before we started doing the Waltz. And my God/Arceus, it was awesome. Hey, this may be a Pokémon Contest but you have to admit dancing in midair while you're inside a water chandelier is pretty cool. After we were sure everyone was clapping a cheering, I quickly dipped her, signaling the Pokémon to slow stop. We floated back onto the ground, landing with me in a bow and Dawn in a curtsy, "Now we cheer."
"Amazing! Truly a spectacular spectacle! The combination of Water & Flying type moves was wonderful and with the addition of the Trainers dancing within really topped it off! And not even a single drop on their clothes! What a great start to the competition! Other contestants have to really give it their all if they want to match their performance! Anyway, onto the next set of contestants!" The announcer said, making me & Dawn grin madly. The rest of the performances were hit & miss, with some spectacularly failing or some that made us worry about our placement. After everyone was done, the rankings were announced.
1st Place: East North & West South
"Well, there goes first place." I mutter as East and West cheered,
"Look who's next!" Dawn exclaimed as she pointed at the TV.
2nd Place: Dawn Berlitz & Dylan Palms
"WOOO!" We cheered as we hugged each other, the other rankings being completely pointless to us, "WE MADE IT BABY!"
"We may have gotten second but at least we aren't those guys." Dawn said as we looked at those who lost, who were being kindly escorted out by security guards,
"We better not lose the first round. Ever." I say, with Dawn quickly agreeing, "It looks like we're facing first place." I said as we saw the match-ups,
"We're going on in a few minutes then." Dawn stated, "Time to break out Pawa."
"Let's hope Sparkle likes contests." I say with a smirk, "So, shall we destroy First Place?" I asked in a fake posh accent as I bowed,
"That will be a lovely afternoon, my lord." Dawn replied, playing along,
"Let's kick their asses, Miss Berlitz."
"I'll be glad to, Mr. Palms." (AN: To save some time and effort, I'm just going to say Dylan & Dawn blast through West & East and they're almost done with their last Contest Battle with Nate Bastion & John Rider)
"It's been an intense match so far, everyone! With two Electric Types verses a Grass & Fire type; it's still anyone's game!" The announcer… announced. Each Pokémon all had a quarter of the Contest Meter left. With Sparkle going against a Magby and Pawa fighting against a Bedew. There was only 1 minute left on the clock,
"Sparks!"
"Pawa!"
"CROSS THUNDER BOLT ALPHA!" We both yelled out. They nodded and rushed towards the two Pokémon,
"Nice try, but we won't be falling for the same trick twice!" John said, "Magby, FLAMETHROWER!"
"Bedew! Go for a RAZOR LEAF!" Nate commanded, following his teammate's lead, "Wait, didn't they say 'Beta' last time?"
"I guess you figured it out." Dawn said, "Dylan!"
"On it." I replied before yelling, "CUE THE ALPHA BOLT PHASE!"
"Alpha Bolt Phase activated!" Sparkle & Pawa yelled out as they both jumped into the air and aimed their tails at their opponents. I smirked as one of them said,
"Iron Tail?"
"Not quite!" Me & Dawn yelled back, "ELECTRO BALL!"
"Say good-bye!" Sparks yelled out as they sent the orbs of pure electricity at the two Pokémon. Before their Trainers could tell them to get out of the way, the Electro Balls hit. Our two Pokémon landed as gracefully as they could, though it lost them some Meter for stumbling a bit. But when the dust cleared, it didn't matter.
The two other Pokémon fainted.
Me & Dawn looked at the screen and smiled, as we saw our names and pictures of our Pokémon and ourselves on it, with 'WINNERS' in bright gold letters. Before I knew it, I was on the ground for the 3rd time today,
"WOULD YOU STOP TACKLING ME!?"
(A few hours later…)
"You're really good at Pokémon Contests, huh Dylan?" Melissa said as I put my first Ribbon into the Ribbon case. I knew she wasn't going to let me live this down,
"Hey, if you become the Champion of Sinnoh, you could be a Coordinator." Dawn suggested. I just shook my head,
"Sorry Dawn. Battling is more of my thing." I told her with a smile. We were on our way to Oreburgh City now for me & Melissa's first Gym Badge. Now that I'm thinking about it now, I don't care if I become the Champ, I just want to spend time with my friend and hopefully girlfriend by the end of our journey. As long as were together, well, I guess the world can go screw itself over. Sure, I still want to be the Sinnoh Champ but… I have more important things to do.
