Those Lazy Afternoons
a poem by Primo
Reminiscing on old times
Remember how we'd play
Or lie in the grass
And dream all day
Remember those warm summers
Where we were all together
No cares in the world
Just us four in the warm weather
Remember just talking everyday
At our own "Usual Spot"
How we'd eat ice cream
To cool down from the hot
Remember trying to go to the beach
No matter how hard we tried
We weren't able to go
No matter how much we cried
Remember when we'd laugh
About the jokes we cracked
Then from laughter to silence
As we heard the train on the tracks
Remember research on the Wonders
How they all ended up to be a lie
That day sure ended well
Then we fell asleep that night
Remember how we wished
Remember how we'd dream
That we could stay like this forever
In our Twilight Town theme
What happened to those days
With my three best friends
Our lazy afternoons
Where life would never end
Sitting on the clock tower
Dreaming of what's to come
Spending our Lazy Afternoons
That tune we would hum
Author's Note: This poem, as it states under its title, was not written by myself. It was written by one of my closest friends. I added this poem as a chapter of the story because when I presented this story to a friend, she could not keep track of the poem within the story… so she suggested that I add another chapter that included just the poem. So here it is.
Thank you for reading! I hope you liked it!
