Part 1:
It had been six years since I first challenged Jay to his leadership. I was 14 years old and I had interest in two girls. Sarafina had grown into a fine young lady. She had long red hair and her eyes… her eyes were a light shade of brown like a tree. The other one was… Aunt Rebekah. I just couldn't help myself. Her voice was music to my ears, even if she were yelling at me. If need be I would get in trouble with her, just have her speak to me. I was over with my books and Dad was now teaching me how to use a sword, how to use bow and arrows, how to hunt and a bunch of other things. Uncle Kol was done with girls and me… sort of. I was just not paid to do his game anymore. He still hung with me but I was beginning to distance myself, not on purpose but because I was giving Sarafina my attention. I couldn't get her off my mind. Uncle Elijah was still here and I would see him occasionally but I didn't exactly have much interaction with him. I didn't like it but I had no time for anything else. The other good thing about having now turned 14 is that naps were no longer an essential thing to Dad. In fact, he had stopped giving me naps when I turned 13. However, if I yawned or was drowsy at all, he would designate naptime for me. Now I was in charge of actually taking my occasional naps. If I did not, of course, there were consequences. As always when misbehaving or disobeying Dad. Aunt Rebekah was usually batting her eyes at me and when I would look, she would turn to look at something else, smiling as if she had a secret. I wanted to know what it was but I couldn't just go up to her and ask.
Now with Jay, Leo and Henry… I was what Jay called third place or third in charge. Like a second deputy or something. I could still remember Dad finding me; I had been fighting with Theo. He had stopped us. He held me back and then demanded to know what was wrong. To quote him… "Whoa, whoa, whoa Marcellus. What are you doing? I thought you were friends with him. Tell me so I can straighten it out. Or would you rather attend the corner until you can calm down?" I couldn't exactly answer so he had took me home and did as he said, even if I was eleven years old… very humiliating. Now the only people above me were Jay and Leo.
Right now, I was heading out of the house, ready to see Sarafina again. When I heard Dad call me. "Marcellus! A word please." He said, sitting down at one of the tables. I turned to him.
"Of course Dad. You can have as many words as you want." I sat down across from him. "What is it?"
"I want to talk to you about Sarafina. I have noticed that you are in her company more and more often. I need that to stop. One day, you will be a vampire and she will be a werewolf. At which point in time, you two will be enemies. I only order this out of love FOR you. If I had it my way, you would not need to worry about her and you could love her to your heart's content. However, that is not the case. Do you remember what I said about werewolves and vampires?"
"… That a bite from a werewolf will kill a vampire?"
"Good boy. Yes, that is exactly what I am referring to Marc. You will be turned on your seventeenth birthday and then you WILL stop her from being in company with you. If you do not, you will pay with either your life, her life or discipline. Therefore, I warn you NOW to stop so that it will not be so hard when you are older. Do you hear me?" I had started to frown when he told me I could no longer be with her.
"Can't I find a way to stop our species from being enemies?"
"No. that is not an available option. She will always be a werewolf and I will NOT let you pass on to the next life. You are, as you have always been, MINE. Marcellus TELL me you understand, or you will NOT be leaving this house until you give up on your fantasy of her. I am not telling you this because I do not want you to be happy. What was one of the first lessons I taught you?" he asked and linked his fingers together and sat his head on his hands. I just began to rub my lips together. "Out with it Marcellus. What lesson coincides with the conversation we are having right now?"
"Not to put myself in danger. You do not care that I did not die. You cared that I could have died. I am not to be harmed in any way."
"Good boy. So are you going to stay away from her or not?" he asked with a slight edge to his voice. He was threatening me with discipline if I denied him. He had a certain way to tell you why you were in trouble and what I searched for was his signs that discipline was on the way... if you know what I mean. Like the tone of his voice and his facial expression. Which by now was easy to find, seeing as I used to get in trouble a lot when I was younger. "Marcellus. Answer me." He said, his brow furrowing in annoyance.
"Yes. I will stay away from her. I promise." I sighed. He smiled and dropped his tone. He kissed my forehead, hugged me and patted my back.
"Good boy. Now go have yourself some fun." He said and turned away and called for Uncle Kol. I left my house and headed out for Sarafina. Nothing he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. Right?
(Sarafina POV)
I was now 14 and next year I would be turning into a full-fledged werewolf. I had no interest in staying in camp but I was still with Krau, my mentor. I had a best friend. Her name was Ciraitai. She was my age and she would help me stand up for me and my wants, and so did Gura, my Alpha. He was very nice and he helped where he could. Then again, he was the son of the clans Alpha. I sighed in relief when we were back in the camp.
"You can go and have some time to cool down. In two hours, though I'll teach you another maneuver to fend off a vampire. Tomorrow I'll teach you how to kill one. So I suggest you get to bed early this night." He said and then headed off, leaving me on my own.
I ran off to see my Father. When I found him, he was talking to the Alpha. They were talking about Gura. I sat down by him and after their conversation was over, he turned to me, as did the Alpha. "Yes Sara? What is it?"
"Can I go out and see the city children? For an hour at least?"
"Yes. However, stay away from Klaus's kid. If I what I think I know is true, then he will be training on how to become a full-fledged vampire. After all, his father is Klaus. I don't like that man and nor will I like his child when Klaus is done with him."
"You don't know what you're talking about. Marcel is NOT like that. Marcel wants nothing but to be carefree. He will not do a thing that Klaus tells him. Marcel and I are best friends… kind of."
"I don't want you near Marcel. I don't know when but I know that he will be turned into one of THEM. All I know is that next year you will be turned werewolf. Werewolves and vampires are forbidden to be together. If you take yourself to his level then you bring shame to our clan."
"Yes Sir. I won't see him anymore." I said with tears in my eyes. He nodded and turned back to my father. I ran off to see Gura. He turned to me patiently. "Gura Sir?"
"Yes? What is it Sara?"
"I need your help. Pio doesn't want me to see Marcel anymore. You've met him before right?"
"Yes. I did. He was a nice boy. So what do you need me to do?" he asked.
"I need you to tell me it's okay to go see him again. I could also ask you to not let anyone know where I have gone."
"You can't live without him can you?" I looked down and twiddled with my thumbs.
"I love him. He makes my life exciting Gura. I don't know where I would be without him."
"I do. You would be dead. You were MEANT to meet him, and if you were meant to meet him then he has a special purpose with you. The Great Alpha would want you to be with him. I promise you that. Otherwise, He would have sent a distraction to you when you went to face that cougar. By the way, I caught a cougar if you're hungry." He smirked at me, as if he were teasing me.
I smiled and bowed. "Thank you Sir."
"Your welcome. Now get moving. Come back within thirty minutes. That's an order." I nodded and walked out of camp, determined to see Marcel today.
(Marcel POV)
I was standing precariously outside the forest that Sara lived in. I was nervous because if Dad found me here, he would probably punish me. I was directly disobeying him. I heard a sound in the forest and I caught Sara in my arms. I stopped and kissed her lips. She welcomed my tongue against her lips and into her mouth.
She stopped the kiss and laid her head on my chest. I held her for a while until I decided I needed to tell her of what Dad had told me. "Sara?"
"Yes Marc?"
"I need to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"My Dad told me I am no longer allowed to see you."
"What did you say?" she asked, sounding hurt.
"I said… yes to him. However, I went against him to come see you. I cannot live without you Sara. You are my life."
"You make my life exciting. You saved me so I owe you. I need to save your life. My Father asked me of the same thing. I denied him. Well not verbally. I also went against the Alpha. I only have thirty minutes with you before I need to go learn a new move from my mentor."
"Well Uncle Kol taught me some of what he calls street smarts. He used to pay me to look under a girls skirt and tell him if they were wearing any trousers. I never understood. Nor do I now."
"You sound like Klaus. By the way, I told them you wouldn't do anything Klaus asked you to."
"I'm sorry but he's the one who taught me everything I know… well except for the stealing and secrecy thing."
"I am amazed on how your family works. Has Rebekah or Elijah taught you anything?"
"Well Rebekah is very much so against me ruining my clothes and Elijah tries to teach me to be honest and such. I warn you, you never want to go against either Klaus or Elijah. Or at least I don't."
"Well if you won't then I won't. So what do we do? We cannot just stop seeing each other. There has to be something we can do."
"Well we could just up and run away."
"Yes! That's it. We'll run away from home."
"Wait, wait. Wait. I cannot just up and leave Klaus. He will come after me. Drag me home and beat me." I tried to back pedal.
"You would rather stay with your father than at least try and get us a life together?"
"Well we would need horses and money."
"Well what about your Uncle Kol?"
"I could ask him, sure. He'll help but I won't tell him why I want the money. Or he'd tell someone and Klaus would hear of it. I'll get the money. You have a horse?"
"No. I don't. I turn next year. When do you turn?"
"When I'm seventeen. I'll see what I can do about getting us out of this city. I love you Sara."
"And I you my love. I have to go before I am missed by my clan."
"I need to head off and find Jay. I'll see you next week. We cannot be together too much but we can't be alone too long. I have a predicament to solve. I'll see you when I can. Just know that I WILL come up with a signal so that you may come and find me when we can meet."
"Very well. And I you." I kissed her again and she caressed my face. I hugged her and then decided I needed to go get rid of her scent, lest Klaus find it on my body and learn of our plans.
Part 2:
I was seventeen now. I had collected enough money for a horse last week and had given the horse to Sara. I was only in need of a plan on how to get out of the city. I had won my place as leader amongst my fellow friends and they had helped me with this scheme. At least the money part. None of them would go against Klaus; in fact, they told me I was crazy for wanting to do so when I lived in his house. I was in reply of that; it was easier than just giving up on having any kind of life with my girlfriend. However, I was now in love with Rebekah Mikaelson just as much as I was of Sarafina Gurrera.
I was with her right now. Tomorrow I was to be turned. She was already a werewolf. I held her in my arms and stood there with her. "Marcel when are we going to go through with our plan? We need to soon or we might never do it."
"Don't worry. I'll wait until two days from now to get it done. I need to stay long enough to be turned or he'll be even more furious. Have you learned how to ride the horse?"
"Yes I have. Now, as you said, all I need is pants instead of a dress."
"Yes. I'll get it for you. I promise. I won't see you tomorrow. I'm sorry but after that, I will see you. If only to set you up for the night. You make sure to do what you need to do. I need to write a letter to be found only when we are out of the city."
"I hope this works."
"As do I. You have no idea what we got ourselves into if we fail."
(There you go. The next chapter will be about his 17th birthday. Hope you like his youth here. R&R Thanks!)
