Hadrian and Draco had been so excited to see the new Quidditch Team roster posted in the Slytherin common room the next morning. They both raced back to their rooms to write to their success to their parents. They sent off their letters and headed up to breakfast to eat their fill and celebrate with their new teammates. While the boys were digging into their food a note appeared before both of them. Hadrian and Draco didn't notice their missives until breakfast was almost over. Hadrian was the one who finally opened the letter.
Hadrian Potter-Black,
I request that you and Draco come to my office after breakfast
immediately to discuss your new positions on the Slytherin House Quidditch Team.
-Severus Snape
Head of Slytherin House
Potions Master
Hadrian grabbed Draco and strode gracefully from the Great Hall and back to the dungeons to Professor Snape's office. No one wanted to make Snape mad, so the boys got there as fast as they could so that they would be there before he had arrived. Snape was walking towards his office and saw the two boys waiting for him patiently. He flicked his wand and opened the door and ushered the two boys into his office. Snape motioned for the two young men to take a seat in front of his desk. He pulled out the Slytherin Quidditch Roster and looked both Hadrian and Draco in the eyes.
"Mr. Potter-Black, Mr. Black? Do you know what this means? This means that you two will have to be the best in the school, maintain top grades and keep the Slytherin Quidditch Team on top. One mistake and you are both done, no more Quidditch and I will be mailing a letter home to both your parents. Now with these guidelines, I will not allow you to endanger yourselves by using the school brooms. I have cleared it with the Headmaster for you to get your own brooms. Neither of you are to brag to your classmates about your new brooms. Here is a broom catalog, go pick and send your choices off to Lord Black. Now off with the both of you."
The boys dashed off to Hadrian's private rooms to peruse the catalog, it would be rude to the other first years to flaunt the fact that they were allowed to purchase brooms. They looked at the Table of Contents so that they could flip strait to the Quidditch Brooms section. Draco especially had no interest in family and children's training brooms. The Malfoy's had long been cursed with a single male heir, and while he may have been accepted into Family Black he still had his father's blood. The two boys flipped to page 26 where Quidditch Brooms were arranged by their statistics.

Draco and Hadrian were looking at brooms specifically designed for their positions, Draco for Chaser and Hadrian for Seeker. Draco wanted the Bolt, it was the best Chaser's broom on the market only the newest Comet broom came close. Hadrian wanted the Firebolt, it was the best broom ever made, and the best seeker should have the best broom. Sirius did know the owner of the Nimbus Broom Company and apparently they were working on some new brooms not due out for a few more years, and maybe they would be the ones to test them out. But first they needed to establish that they were the absolute best first. Having both picked the brooms that they wanted, they sent their choices off to Sirius, and it was a waste of parchment to write individual letters to the same person about the same thing. Both boys signed their names at the bottom of the letter, though Draco's ending was more formal than Hadrian's, they hurried up to the Owlery to send off their letter. Both boys decided to enjoy some of the last warm days at the castle and stroll around the grounds. After today Quidditch practices would be almost every day from then on through the rest of the year, minus holiday's and Hogsmeade visits. However Hadrian thought that if Harper found out that the Black's had a Quidditch Pitch at their manor, he might make the team floo there to have practices over yule break. Neither Hadrian nor Draco wanted that, besides Hadrian had other things to do over yule break that would be very time consuming.
At 11, Hadrian was at age where young heirs started to take over some of their parents duties, though Hadrian had more duties than the other boys his age or even the older ones. The only men who had as many responsibilities as Hadrian were Lords who were acting as regents for Houses whose heirs were too young to do anything, like Sirius, who was Lord Black and Lord Regent Potter. Of course Hadrian was going to have to review all of his other Houses too, Slytherin and Ravenclaw had not had a male head of house since The Founders time because the title had passed down the female line to Hadrian. Gryffindor had been held in secret by the Potters and Hufflepuff had been held in secret by the Blacks. Hadrian had nine families that he was eventually going to be the head of, not to mention he was going to be the head of a magical nation. As soon as he turned 17 Hadrian was going to claim all his Lordships, he was already eligible to claim the title Head of House, but one could not claim the title Lord until they were of age in the magical community.
