Chapter 10
Note: Jennifer is 12 weeks pregnant. The date Hannah had her surgery was October 22. She was in a coma until October 24. She got out of the hospital on October 25. Hannah & Tony didn't celebrate Halloween this year. The current date is Thursday, November 2.
I quickly shower, and get dressed. As soon as I am dressed the doorbell rings. It's Jimmy Johns delivering the sandwiches I order. I pay the delivery guy then I shut the door and look around the room. Dang I really need to clean this apartment. Luckily Tony and I have been eating out every night so we don't have very many dishes to wash. I quickly did the dishes, threw away all the trash, took the trash out, and I had just started vacuuming when the doorbell rang. I turned off the vacuum cleaner and opened the door.
Jennifer: Hello, Hannah.
Me: Hello, Jennifer. (I gave her a hug) Wow you are starting to show.
Jennifer: Yes, the baby is about the size of a lime. (Jennifer says as she walks in the apartment, and puts her purse down, takes off her coat, and sits on the couch.)
Me: Would you like a sandwich from Jimmy Johns? (I ask her holding up a sandwich)
Jennifer: No, thank you.
Me: When are you going to find out the gender? (I ask as I sit down on the couch next to Jennifer.)
Jennifer: Tomorrow, we are going to have a gender reveal party soon.
Me: When are you going to officially tell people?
Jennifer: I was going to tell Tony, and my dad on Thanksgiving. Are you still having Thanksgiving here?
Me: Yes. You know Tony is going to be excited that he is going to be an uncle.
Jennifer: I know. He has been bugging me about having nieces and nephews for a while.
Me: Yeah. He is going to be a great uncle.
Jennifer: And a great dad.
Me: Yep. When the time comes but far far in the future.
Jennifer: Hannah you are 27 years old I wouldn't wait for a long time.
Me: Jennifer you are 27 also and you are having your first child. Also, I want to be at least in my early 30s before I have a baby. I would like to be a little more prepared.
Jennifer: What do you mean prepared?
Me: I would like to have a house for my kids to play in, and I want to be married before I get pregnant. I don't want to disappoint my dad.
Jennifer: I know I understand. You will get married one day.
Me: I know.
All of a sudden Jennifer's pager goes off.
Jennifer: Dang, I needed at the hospital. Well there goes my day off. I wish I could spend more time with you but I have to go.
Me: I understand work is work. I can't wait till I can go back to work. Do you want a sandwich to take to work?
Jennifer: Yes, please and thank you. Also, you should be able to return to work soon. (Putting on her coat)
Me: Yep, in 5 more days.
Jennifer: Bye, Hannah. (Grabs her purse)
Me: Bye, Jennifer. (I give her a sandwich and a hug and she leaves)
Well I'm all alone again. I am going to give this apartment a thorough cleaning. Also, I am going to the grocery store so we can finally stop eating out.
