A/N: This little thing of a chapter has been sitting in my roster for a awhile as I kinda forgot it was there with the numerouother chapters I have. I also didn't think it was finished considering how short it is and I am not too sure if I am going to continue it.
Maybe it will become something bigger if enough people like it or I find a drive to write more of it. On another note, I have put many of my other stories on hold as I am redesigning characters appearence wise as I firgured: If I can't draw them, I can't write them. I tend to make a personality after I draw anything anyway, so writing about them first makes the process work backwards and feel incomplete. That's probably why writing TDotSW didn't satisfy me because I never drew any character first because I was too eager and didn't take in their posture, eyes, expression, and clothing into consideration when I construct a personality.
Anyways, I hope this little dribble is okay for a refresher between the very long breaks of time.
DISCLAIMER : All Kirby characters belong to their respectful owners and or owners of HAL. I do not own them only the plot. So no stealing please and thank you and all that jazz. Enjoy! XD
Immortal Sin
One of the many things Meta Knight disliked was the disregard for honor when in battle. Using cheap shots and antics to disarm their opponent was disgraceful to the ways of the warrior. But what if it was to protect those dear to you? He asked that question many time to the victims of his slaughter. Would you forfeit your innocence for the sake of others? He doesn't really think there is a price on innocence as people would go to great lengths in order to achieve it or maintain it within their souls.
Is the galaxy really that important to him that he would resort to using diabolical tricks to deceive those around him? Yes, he would without a second thought if it meant protecting his own life as selfish as it may seem. There would no point in it all otherwise as everybody and anyone had the desire to live despite wanting to die given the chance. Even if it meant backstabbing friend or befriending enimes, people would do anything to preserve their life.
Some would work so hard to oppose such a selfish desire that they didn't even know they were playing right into the devil's hands. Because the more you oppose, the more you would fall down the hole of insanity. People literally lose their minds in desperation of maintaining purity in the form of innocence. It's so stupid to the point it becomes hilarious to him even though he once thought the same himself.
He though for the longest of times that he could remain innocent as long as he worked harf enough to maintain it. He would believe in just about anything to keep it in his soul like everybody else. A rumor, a tale, or myth of long forgotten history- he didn't care what it was as lomg as it extended his innocence. That's why it was so percious because it's hard to keep and easy to lose. That's why he believed in innocence being pricelss because nothing can equal it in value if one is exchanging pure gold and the riches of the world to obtain it.
But why were these thoughts and questions surfacing now of all times?
Oh,… he knew why.
He knew from the the very start that the questions, and the reactions they brought with them, were because of what he is doing presently. His sword was poised to strike down the people who he once called allies and friends. His eyes gleamed with sadistic pleasure as he watched the faces of his terrified victims throughout the reflection of the blood spilt before him. They are so pitiful, so hopeless, and weak it made him want to laugh on the surface of his facade. But, deep down inside the place were his spirit resided, he yearned and begged for his life to go out. He didn't want to kill anymore, he didn't want to hurt people anymore, he didn't want to see tears anymore.
They yelled for him to stop, to halt the process of ripping their life away from them. But he couldn't stop once he started as everything must have a beginning and an end— a pause in movement does not exist. He had to finish it even as it will leave him broken in the end, even as he will be made more of a monster, even as the voice echoed in his head.
" Have you really fallen?"
That voice, the voice of the one who got him into this mess in the first place. Why did he hear that voice? Why did he suffer from the immense agony it caused him? He just couldn't take it anymore. The screams, the flames, they lives he had taken were becoming too loud for his tastes. He had to bring everything to an end— right here, right now. So he drove his sword downward with all his might, hopes, and dreams. They were plunged into the heart of his tormentor, the one being in the universe that never left him alone until he himself silenced it.
He could hear it scream in pain as it withed from the shock of its life being cut short. It deserved to die, it had to atone for all the sins it caused, for all the sins it has brought upon him in the pursuit of stopping it. How many had he killed to get to this point? Hundreds? Thousands? Maybe it was even over millions as he could never keep track of how many eyes begged him for mercy, to spare their useless lives. But he had given up his sense of honor the moment he was casted out of his home, the place far beyond the mortal realm- Asteria.
And now that the evil who has followed him is gone, he must continue onto the next one. Collecting enough dreams to please his new master, the ruler of Nightmares— Zero. Some could even say that he was good at what he does, killing the being of the living like he didn't care when he really did. It as evidence that proved he was more suited for the depths of the UnderWorld rather than the heights of the divine light, a real talent. But what sense did it make if he did not start from the beginning so that there can be an end?
He needed to start over, straight to the very beginning of his tale to the very end of his story.
The tale of the angelic warrior and the fable of the winged demon.
His life of how he went from the honorable Meta Knight and the deceitful Immortal Sin.
A/N: This series of stories is actually going a lot better than I thoughts as it seems to be recieved positively by you guys and gives me a chance to write out any ideas I may have for Kirby fanfics and elaborating on them at my own pace without too much of a complex storyline.
Anyways, I really hope you like this installment of Collective Knightmares as it is a little disorganized because I wasn't exactly sure what I was going for thoughout the process of writing it.
P to the S: I have a new story out called Fused in the Sonic fandom as I had a great idea for a storyline involving the fusion and separation of Sonic and Shadow. But didn't get your hopes too far up as it only has one chapter and the action doesn't really start until chapter three or so which is coming soon. Have a great day. XD
