Chapter 10

Dear Diary,

Been a while since I wrote.

But it's been busy lately.

Very busy.

Between my brother, the police, and the others, I lost track of time.

And for the past three days, I've been hidden in my room.

I don't want to come out.

There's no reason to.

No going out.

No food.

No sleep.

No talking.

Nothing.

So, for now, at least, I was staying here.

J. Daniel Atlas

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and I glanced up as Merritt pushed open my door.

He stared at me.

I stared at him.

He frowned, "You look like shit".

I remained silent.

"Seriously Danny, I've never seen your hair anything but perfect" He continued, "And you look like you haven't slept at all".

Silence.

"Ok. That's it. Get up" He ordered suddenly, "Get up. Go for a shower. And get dressed... You probably need to shave as well, so be quick. We're going shopping".

Then the shut the door and left, before I could reply.

Staring after him for a few more minutes, I slowly stood up, dragging myself to my bathroom.

I had nothing better to do.

About twenty minutes later, I slowly wandered downstairs and found Merritt waiting in the kitchen.

He smirked when he saw me, "Ready?".

I nodded and he grinned, "Good. Let's go. I'm driving".

Half an hour later, he pulled up outside a giant department store.

I frowned, confused, and turned to him with a questioning look.

He sighed, "Still not talking, huh? Well, we're here for the sole reason of getting the most random stuff we can find before going back home and making something that'll anger Henley out of it".

THATS, what we're here for?

Unbelievable.

Smirking at my slightly annoyed look before jumping out of the car and dragging me into the shop.

"And we'll need this... And this... And, oh my god, it's sparkly stick-on stars. We are defiantly getting those" Merritt grinned, throwing everything and anything into the shopping cart.

So far we had managed to stock up on duct-tape, tinned tomatoes, and at least ten toothbrushes.

I didn't want to know.

"Oh, hey, look, glitter glue!" He exclaimed suddenly, pointing to the shelves across the way, "Stay right here, guard our stuff, and I'll go get some".

And before I could even blink he had disappeared.

"Nice day isn't it?" Someone asked.

I paused.

That-

No, that wasn't-

... Damn.

"Very" I replied calmly, before turning to face the man.

He could have only been 27 or 28 and the latest, but looked much older, around 35 or so. His dark brown hair came down to just above his shoulders, and while his equally as dark blue eyes were filled with amusement and slight physchotic-ness, his face gave away no emotion at all.

He smirked, "It's been a long time Daniel".

I glared at him, "Not half as long enough as I hoped... I would say I'm happy to see you, but that would be a lie, wouldn't it, James?".
